Frozen prickly pear margarita and Plato Mexicana

Came here in the evening and the food was very disappointing. We come here pretty often because of the convenience but they've been very inconsistent with their food. My cheese enchilada wasn't even melted, took a bite of it and it was cold and ruin my dinner. Server asked if I wanted them to just remake the cheese enchilada, so I took the offer. This time the enchilada was over cooked.

It's been a long time tradition for my children and I to go to El Encanto for Father's Day, even before it was El Encanto Dos. The food was good, the service was not great. Thankfully the manager was making his rounds or we may have never gotten a refill on our drinks to help wash down the yummy food. And our fundido sauce didn't show up until half way through our meal. By that time we'd eaten most of our chips and our meal. So 5 for food and 2-3 for service.

Restaurant decor made me feel like I was in a desert garden. Service is quick but food took a little while. Plates were hot and my friends plates looked good. So did mine I got chicken fajitas there was a good portion of chicken not a lot of guacamole or peppers. Chicken was kind of bland and dry. It's great if you're trying to watch sodium and fat content?

I have tried the original el Encanto about a year ago and really liked it. I decided to give the second location a try as well while the restaurant was similar. There were some pretty clear differences. The ambience was lacking. The majority of the restaurant seating had views of the main road and the seating was very close together and didn't feel as cozy. The service was good. The food was also on point. I would still go back to the restaurant, however ask for inside seat. If given the choice between the two locations, I would go back to the main one before I would go to this one, however.

We love to sit on the patio now that the weather is nice again. Food is consistently delicious and fresh. Service is always friendly even when they are busy. Not a fan of their sopapillas~ they are more like a tortilla smothered with honey, chocolate & powdered sugar.

Stopped in last night with some friends for dinner. The place is huge with a ton of seating inside and out. The outside would be great for winter time, but alas it was inside this time due to the heat. We started with drinks, I tried the prickly pear margarita and eventually the house margarita (both frozen) and my husband got a Dobel Mexican Mule. All the drinks were great. The chips and salsa were good (I enjoyed the variety of flavors and heat levels they give.) It was interesting that the menu says the 1st basket of chips is free and any extra would cost. Makes sense, but it did have me eating them really slowly to avoid getting a second. Normally I would have plowed through them but since we were with others we didn't. The main food was sadly just "okay". It was more on the bland side and felt as just typical Mexican. I opted for the small cheese enchilada plate and my husband got the Plato Mexicano. Both of us thought the food was rather bland. Our friends tried a fajita plate and the chili relleno which was the special last night and only the fajita seemed to be worth note. Our friends did get the fried ice cream which was definitely unique (I had never had it crusted in cornflakes before). Our waiter was good. He took our drink orders and food and kept checking on us until he dropped off the check. Sadly he didn't split the check up (2 couples) so we had to have him do that. All in all the place has a great vibe and good drinks but the food is lacking.

This was a bit further of a drive than the original El Encanto but there was no wait time on a Saturday night which is amazing! We started with the queso Guillermo. Cheesy goodness 5 stars. I had the special- the seafood enchiladas. The seafood inside was shrimp and scallops with a green enchilada sauce. 3.5 stars. Not bad, not my favorite. My husband had the taquitos 2 stars- very bland and chile rellenos - 4 stars. The bartender was our server- she was working so so hard we were shocked she didn't have more server help, so we did have to wait but it was ok, we had time. I'd love to visit this location again and walk around outside- they have a gated garden/event space that we couldn't see into but looked magical from the outside.

First time here for me. The ambiance, grounds and service was great, however food was just ok. The restaurant is large with ample seating and authentic vibes.

But I wanted something hearty after donating blood the day before at Phoenix Fan Fusion. I felt like I didn't eat enough to replenish all of the corpuscles I shed, so a hearty late breakfast was in order. I was pleasantly thrilled with my choice of Presidio Cocina Mexicana, as the late breakfast I ordered did not disappoint! I ordered the Chilaquiles, which are essentially breakfast nachos, and you have a choice of protein to add. I chose the birria beef which was perfectly slow-cooked and complemented the corn tortilla chips, cheese, and eggs superbly. I opted for both the red chile and green chile sauce which coated the chips along with a generous layer of tangy cotija cheese. I asked for the eggs scrambled and they cooked them just how I like them... fairly dry and in a thin griddled layer. Add to this mound of well-seasoned goodness a decent dolloping of Tapatio hot sauce (and salt and pepper on the eggs) and I had endless perfect bites of spicy, meaty brekkie goodness that brought delighted yummy sounds from my grateful gullet! This was quality food and the couple at the bar next to me raved about the Menudo, so it has all the hallmarks of authentic Mexican fare. It restored me from borderline anemic to my usual strutting rugged caballero self. "¡Arriba, arriba! ¡Ándale, ándale!"

The restaurant is inside of an old brick home with wood interior and warm colors. The service was good-- friendly and food came out at a good pace, we were checked on regularly. We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic.
