Very solid meal at Presidio. The first thing we noticed is just the ambiance of the restaurant. The lighting, table setup, open kitchen and bar. We loved the vibe/layout. It wasn't too busy when we went on a Thursday for dinner but service was great. Guac was yummy - chips could have used a tad more salt. Both of our mains were good too. Reasonable portion sizes - the garlic shrimp sauce was sooo good! Mushroom taco was also very underrated.

Back at it again this weekend. Had the chile rellano and it didn't disappoint. I'm on a mission to try everything on the menu this year it seems. Haha. Juan was our server again and he's awesome. Always making sure we order things right and suggesting items if stuck between two items.

Very nice and cosy restaurant. Came here for their flavorful brunch. First thing I noticed was their chair, the luxurious feel of leather on your back, left me a positive impression already. The menu items were unique and lots to choose from. Steak and eggs, omelets, burritos, really a good mix and the prices are pretty good. Coffee is strong, service is great!

This place was my favorite place that I ate at during my visit to Phoenix! Every single bite we took tasted amazing. This place is a mix of Mexican tradition with a modern style. The food tastes very much like an Abuela made it especially the flan. The staff were friendly and food came out so fast from the kitchen. We also went when it opened because on a Saturday I assume they get crazy busy. I ate the pozole and my husband got chilaquiles and added carne asada. We also tried the taquito app and for dessert the churros and flan. They have a great cocktail menu as well. We'd come back for sure!

As usual I was traveling through Phoenix for the day and decided to find some goo, but authentic Southwest Mexican food to eat. So my business partner and I relied on the Yelp reviews to lead us here. The outside doesn't look like much but once inside it's transformed into a finer dining Mexican restaurant. The servers are friendly and helpful and the A/C works great! No alcohol for us since we were on the clock but the bar sure looked inviting. Started with chips and guacamole that was really good. Loved that the chips were hot and homemade. My buddy had the fajitas and said they tasted good. I had the dinner enchiladas and really liked them. I was slightly surprised that my enchiladas were only warm and not hot. That led a slightly lower score. The flan was outstanding. Overall a great place and I would come back again!

I feel like brunch spots have a difficult time deciding whether or not they want the food to look good OR taste good, but luckily Presidio Cocina can do both! I often find that trendy brunch spots are overpriced and the food doesn't fit the bill, but the tacos (tinga, chorizo, and (iirc) pork) and the tres leches French toast were soooo good. We also had ceviche and aguachiles (which were both okay), but the chicharron was delicious. The taco meats were all uniquely seasoned and garnished perfectly, but it was so much I was full by my third taco! Although I had a delightful experience, I do have two things to mention: the service was a little bit odd, our server had a difficult time splitting the bill among the table. And we ordered a mimosa flight, but didn't receive a "flight." Typically when you order a flight of any kind of drink, you expect small glasses of different flavors or qualities, but at this restaurant, they let you pick two flavors of juice and bring you a bottle of champagne. It wasn't bad, it was just confusing. And a little bit disappointing that we only got to choose from two juices (lol). Overall, it was a great experience and I'd totally bring folks in again for a round 2.

Had to give this place another try after my daughter raved about it. Glad we did, so much better than the first time we came and everything tasted amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The aguas were very good and so was the desserts. We enjoyed everything we ate even the menudo. My mother is very picky but she loved it. They do get busy so I would suggest getting a reservation if not be prepared to wait. Restrooms were cleaned

Wasn't easy to find but the restaurant but it was clean. Inside felt nice and cool. And they had a cute bar. Food was great. Service was friendly as well to us. We always thank workers that are nice to our toddler. Decent music too. We ordered Chips and salsa, Mole and Build tacos. Private lot on the side.

Great food, great service. Our waiter, Emmanuel, was very patient with my hectic party and attentive. My green chili chicken enchiladas were spicy and full of flavor. And the mango chamoy mule was the cherry on top. Will definitely be back.

Checked this spot out for lunch which visiting a friend in Arizona. Wow!! Their breakfast is delicious. There's limited parking in the front, but a ton in the back. The servers are all very attentive and sweet. Got their huevos rancheros and it was so delicious. I was able to substitute the beans for rice. The dish was so flavorful! They have a ton on different stuff on their menu and I believe they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. Their dessert menu sounded good but I was so full. Their sweets are baked fresh.

Found this spot on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was a good choice. Place was clean, friendly staff. Food was very tasty and filling. Will definitely come back when I'm in PHX again.

Queso Fundido with chips & salsa

If your menu features Queso Fundido it's pretty hard to get anything less than 4 stars from me. Presidio Cocina Mexicana's (PCM) big menu features Queso Fundido and it was the perfect remedy to the Budget Rental Car nightmare that preceded my coming here. In fact, I'd left the airport so hungry and agitated that I might've asked Siri to find me the "nearest Queso Fundido"; it's difficult to say how I wound up choosing PCM. Like almost every Arizona eatery, PCM features a full array of alcohol. The bottles are lined up attractively but the food menu is of greater interest. Breakfast is served all day, but the menu goes far beyond mere breakfast. Meals run in the $15-$20 range and though I often prefer a cheap taqueria for Mexican fare, this - food, service, and ambiance - was a very nice experience. In addition to a shared Queso Fundido (excellent, accompanied by chips & salsa and/or tortillas) I ordered Chilaquiles and sampled the tacos. Chilaquiles were lovely in presentation, with half doused in red sauce and the other half doused in green, and benefited significantly from an added splash of salsa. Tacos? Equally enjoyable but I admit to having wandering eyes. A man at a nearby table ordered Fajitas and they looked so enticing that I had to inquire "as good as they look?" to which I received a positive affirmation. So next time it's the Fajitas and the Queso Fundido. Not too far from the Phoenix Airport, PCM is a great choice not only for those times when it takes forever to secure a rental car.

I came here for lunch with my friends and we really enjoyed all the food and our service was great. The restaurant is a little small, but it was not busy when we went around 1:30pm so it was nice. I got the chicken Torta, which was really good, but could use more of the chipotle mayo. I ordered an additional side, which was $1.50 which I thought was ridiculous because they only give you about a teaspoon extra, but I didn't know it was extra until I got my bill and I didn't feel like bringing this up. I would have just appreciated the heads up that it was $1.50 extra. Anyways, it was good Mexican food.

Chicken enchiladas with red sauce, green chile tamale, rice and beans! Excellent!!!

It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

This was not an issue, just one that was interesting, though the layout is small and the bathroom door is behind the bar seats, so it isn't the most comfortable location given the tight squeeze with foot traffic. The menu seemed focused on the cocktails, with a mixture of what might be considered and appetizer or main course mixed together. We got the watermelon and cucumber salad to start, thinking it would be refreshing after a long walk there in the heat. Both of us were shocked when the first notes of the watermelon were spicy. We read the menu and then understood that this was not meant to be a light bite. It was very enjoyable, but just a different taste than expected. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles. This had the spice expected. What was interesting was that the spices were almost exactly the same to the watermelon and cucumber salad. Not bad, but we probably would have ordered a different starter. We also ordered the streak bowl and the foccaccia with ricotta. The steak was incredible, and the highlight of the meal. This would have been better with more egg..not sure one full egg wad used? and less rice. The focaccia was warm and the ricotta with honey a nice palate cleanser before and after the meal. My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
