Huarachis Taqueria continues to impress me every time I visit. I've had their Asada Fries, which come with a 10oz ribeye, frijoles (I usually go without), queso aguacabe, salsa bandera, cebolla, cilantro, serrano frito, crema, and baja. Every single ingredient adds something important, and together it makes the dish incredibly flavorful. On a separate occasion, I tried the Bistec Ranchero, which comes with a 28oz bone‑in ribeye, salsa ranchero, elote (I chose to double papas al disco instead), papas al disco, salsa bandera, frijoles, cebolla, and chilitos. The combination of ingredients in this dish was outstanding, everything worked together perfectly, and it ended up being the best thing I've eaten so far this year. One thing I love most about this spot is their portions. They always give generous servings for the cost, and it makes every visit feel like a great value. Great food, great portions, and a place I'm always happy to return to.
The Huaraches pescado was very good, comes with three types of salsa. My boyfriend loved all of his tacos: Chicharrones, hongos, pescado, and carne asada. We loved the drink Inferno. Lively inside and nice service. I understand why this made it on the Michelin Southwest Guide.
Finally checked this spot out! As soon as I walked in I was impressed with the vibes and atmosphere. The music, wall decor, and even the drink menu, which was designed like a passport, all made this place feel fun and unique. The service was great and the food was okay. We wanted to try a few different things, so we shared a carne asada taco, elote, and a huarache. Overall, it's a really cool spot, and I can definitely see why it's always so busy. It's such a cool place to hang out. If I go back, I'd probably stop in for drinks or give a few other things on the menu a try.

Wow this place came highly recommended from a friend in NYC and they didn't disappoint. The aesthetics were giving living room tex-mex vibes. Loved the drink menu cute passport with all the signatures the food well me and my son always try to order so we can get a taste of everything and nothing disappointed like nothing so far say try one option from each section and get the potatoes. Would happily order the Carne Asada vampiros for the rest of my life. The Carne Asada tacos were also fantastic, but the vampiro stole the show for us. Strawberry margaritas were also good! Will be a must stop place if back in the Southwest. Service was good, food came out less than 5 minutes after we ordered, the margaritas came out near the end of our meal but we didn't mind it. Ambiance was cool, low pink lighting, but not too dark you can't see or enjoy yourself.
If it hadn't been for my foodie friend flying in from Tennessee and requesting Huarachis for her birthday lunch, I probably would've still had this place sitting on my "must try" list. But the second she said Huarachis, I was like... YES. Let's go. And wow -- it absolutely hit the spot. First off, the warm flour tortillas and butter they brought to the table instantly took me back to my childhood. Standing patiently by the comal waiting for fresh cemait (tortillas in our native language) while my grandmother had a stick of butter ready to lather them down. But that little extra heat on the tortillas here? It elevated the butter to another level. And I can't leave out the homemade salsas they bring to the table -- each one had its own unique flavor profile with different heat levels to fit whatever mood your tastebuds are in. So good. The creamy beans with cheese and spice paired with the homemade corn tortilla chips were perfection. And the elote? We definitely should've ordered two. My son and I both loved the carne asada tacos -- those alone are worth coming back for. The homemade jamaica was so refreshing. My son said it tasted just like Tata's, which is saying a lot because he only gets that when we visit Tata in Payson. If you're looking for a truly authentic experience that feels like being welcomed into the home of someone who learned to cook with love and tradition passed down through generations, this is the place. Now next on my list: Bacanora. From what I hear, it's incredibly hard to get into -- and it's another concept from James Beard award-winning Chef, Rene Andrade. Hopefully I can actually score a reservation. Just a casual spot to enjoy authentic food.

The staff was super friendly, sharing history about tortillas and butter something I had never had or heard about. This is the appetizer Nana would make for you on your visit while she gets the rest of the food ready. I loved it. Just like bread and butter but Mexican style! If you get the Carne Asada fries beware...it's a super large portion. This is a shareable entree or have some leftover for later. I didn't try a cocktail this time around...I'm going to have to get a Lyft when I'm ready to do so because they have quite a few intriguing drinks that were calling me.

Was on a walk with the girlfriend when we passed this place, and boy oh boy what a hidden treasure we have found. This place exceeded every expectation, I'm completely blown away. For starters, the environment feels so vibey; everything feels so disco punk from the passport menus to the custom stone plates and wall decor. I could spend all day in this restaurant just working and sipping margaritas. Secondly, the most friendly staff in the world. They were so quick to get us seated, cracking jokes with us and making menu recommendations for each of us. I wanted to be friends with everyone there. Finally, the food. As if this place couldn't get any better - probably the single greatest carne asada taco I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. I have a favorite taco spot and I'm pretty loyal to it - this kind of thing is a big deal in Phoenix. But I swear I finished that taco and was considering if I had to change up my go-to spot; the asada tasted so fresh and the tortilla cooked just right. I also tried the Crispy Papa taco but just wasn't a huge fan personally, my girlfriend thought it was great though. All in all, a very easy 5 stars. Huarachis just scored another regular customer, and I'm sure they'll be seeing a lot more of me going forward.

5/5 starting with the warm welcome from the staff. Cecilia (whose name I hope to be spelling correctly) was phenomenal! My guest had 1,000,000,000 + allergies and Cecilia was patient, professional and extremely accommodating. I would have lost my mind. lol! The food was delicious! I had the tacos (potatoes, fish and mushroom) and the sauces on the side were great! The ambiance is quite cute; a reflection of Mexico and Arizona combined. I also had the jicama beverage that was refreshing. Definitely a great stop for a first stop. The three tacos were more filling than I thought they would be, but that's great! Step into what you have always imagined a taco shop looks like! This place is great wide open space and just a complete vibe! Lots of random stuff to look at and music and is rolling! Server was super friendly and knowledgeable it's almost like he knew what i wanted and pointed me in the right direction, i wasn't starving so just wanted a snack and the fish taco hit the damn spot! I've had the chance to visit plenty more times and have ordered the platos which can easily feed 2-3 hungry people... completely elevated experience, in my opinion. The carne, frijoles, papas - everything is super delicious. Service is always quick and attentive despite being busy, and it's quickly become one of if not my favorite dinner spot in Phoenix. read more

You cannot miss Huarachis Taqueria where the ambiance and vibes are amazing and the food is top tier. Our server recommended we share so we ordered the carnitas plate and this can easily feed 4-5 people. We had a blast here and loved the music and the pink lights feels inviting. Our food came fast and our server was great at making sure we had everything we needed. The ceviche is probably one of the best I have ever had, so fresh! read more

My friends and I ate at Huarachis for the first time while celebrating a birthday. We live in the west valley so I made a reservation to be on the safe side. I'm glad we did - it was a Saturday night and the place was pretty full. TOP TIP: look for parking behind the restaurant first. The next closest parking lot was $30 for two hours, which is absurd. Parking behind the restaurant is free but limited and first-come first-serve. The food was all excellent. We started with the Quesadilla and the Tortillas & Butter. The Quesadilla was excellent - super cheesy. The star of the dish is the Frijol Dip however. Delicious with just a hint of heat. The Tortillas and Butter were good, but they aren't kidding when they say 'charred'. They were a tad too chewy and well done for a couple members of our group. For mains the 4 of us shared the Bistec Ranchero. We didn't know if it would be enough food for all of us, so we also got a taco each. It was definitely enough food. The Bistec Ranchero is definitely enough food for 4, especially if you start with a couple apps to share. For tacos the groups favorite was the Lala Lengua. Someone in our party has lived in Mexico and says these are some of the best lengua she's ever had. The Bistec Ranchero was phenomenal. The meat was cooked to perfection. The sides were all delicious. The salsa ranchera is not to be skipped. 10/10. Definitely recommend getting an extra side of escabeche. It was a great palate cleanser and added the perfect acidity to the meal. Do not skip on this place. We will definitely be returning! read more

I really loved the food here! My coworker has been talking about this place for so long to me so I finally went. And twice in one day lol. I went for lunch and had the vampiro taco with chicharron and a carne asada taco. The tortillas were handmade and were so delicious and the chicharron was so crispy. They put a lot in my 1 taco. I also tried their famous beans but unfortunately it was too spicy for me, but my husband loved them and said they were the perfect amount of spice. When we came back again that night with one of my friends, I ordered the carne asada tacos again and we all shared the concha ice cream sandwich dessert. That was amazing. We also had micheladas and they said their michelada mix is made in house. It was so refreshing and delicious after a long hot day. After that we were pretty much in a food coma. I definitely would go back here again. The only that sucks is the parking. It's basically all paid street parking but that comes with the area it's in. Either way it's totally worth it to eat here. At first look the place didn't strike me as a particularly delicious place but looks can be deceiving. As soon as we sat we had a waitress that was helpful and got us drinks on a timely manner. The ambiance was decent but nothing to rave about, felt more old school. I and around 5 others shared two of the 28oz steaks as it says it can feed 4 people each, which I would hope so considering they are $100 each. They came with sides and such which I must say were seasoned quite well and pared nicely with the steak, I'd also like to mention that the steak was cooked to order. However, the steak itself was fairly salty and when you pared this with all of the others the salt levels were a bit too high for my liking. read more

Neighborhood is happening. Service was great. Food came out lightening fast. Environment was fun, youthful, and clean. Food was average at best. I'm from the NE, so I was expecting much more from an Arizona taqueria spot. Most I've been to in Philly are much better. read more

Can you tell Huarachis for lunch, and left very happy. It's near Roosevelt Row right on Central, and we lucked out and found meter parking pretty close. I really love the aesthetic of this place. My favorite color is pastel pink and this place has tons of it. The color scheme of a light sage green and pink is awesome, and the mirror tiles above the bar go perfectly. There are shelves with lots of interesting tchotchkes, and stool seating that looks outside onto the sidewalk. There's a lot of pink neon, and I imagine this place looks pretty cool at night. We ordered: *Jamaica aguas frescas *Chicharron Vampiro *Carne asada taco *Pescado Taco *Frijol dip Everything was absolutely delicious, and I could not stop eating that Frijol Dip, even after I was full. By the time we left, this hip little place was full. All the seats were taken at the bar, and most of the tables were taken. I guess the word is out on how good the food is here! read more

First time. It's small and I went their before the Laker game. I got in right away but the hostess told me my table was reserved at 545pm. This is on a Thursday. I asked the hostess and she suggested the carne asada taco. I also got a quesadilla. The carne asada taco was fabulous. I wish I had ordered three of them. The quesadilla was good and it came with a small container of beans that was spicy and good. read more

When researching restaurants in Phoenix, Chef Rene Andrade's name kept coming up, so Huarachis Taqueria was at the top of my list! Food - The elote was grilled beautifully with a solid char. It was a bit heavy on the mayo for my taste, but the seasoning was on point. - We ordered huaraches with carne asada, but it turned out we got chicharron instead. It's pretty loaded so we didn't realize until we started cutting into it. That said, it was absolutely delicious. Huaraches were new to me, but I really enjoyed the texture it adds. One easily fed two of us since we wanted to try other things. - The tacos were excellent -- we had the lala lengua and chicharron. The lengua was super tender and flavorful. - The standout: the huarachis beans, which were one of the most flavorful bean dishes I've ever had. I can see why they're famous! It is on the saltier side, suited for those that like salty food. - Also worth noting: I'm not big on cilantro, but their use of it was balanced and didn't overpower anything. Ambiance - A little bit loud and tough to hold a conversation, but it seems like it's designed more for a quick, casual meal or bar-style experience rather than a long, sit-down dinner. Lively, no frills, and bustling. Service - Decent overall. Nothing standout, but nothing negative either -- things moved smoothly. Cost - Just under $60 for two people (we did not order drinks or dessert as we were very full), which felt like a great value considering the portions and quality of the food. Conclusion I visited about a month ago, and I've found myself thinking about this meal. I would definitely visit again if I find myself in Phoenix. read more
