We sat by the bar.

Me and my friend had some spare time and went in only for a quick drink. The chips and salsa were complimentary free first round. The drinks were pretty good. Also the three salsas. We were greated and seated right away. The ambience was so relaxing and clean and nice. Wish we had enough time for food but I will be going back.

Great margaritas!

Outstanding food, excellent drinks, great ambiance, on point service! Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Chips and Duros

This was a tough one. Everything was very good! If you go here for tacos you will not be disappointed! Go for lunch 3 tacos, chips/duros and a drink for $15. A little expensive but not outrageous. 5 Star - I don't know if I've been to any restaurant where I loved all three salsas. The house tomatillo, chile de arbol, and salsa fresca were all excellent. None of them were really spicy but had hints of a kick. The salsa fresca was probably my favorite though. The chips and duros were well seasoned too! 4 Star - the shrimp , pastor, and asada were all very good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly cooked. The pastor had some char on them and the pineapple balanced the taco well. The asada was a little bland, and I would have enjoyed a little char, but still a good taco. The atmosphere was very laid back and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and the service was fantastic. 3*** = Good but no separation from similar restaurants 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

Vegan review: One of the treats of working downtown north of Van Buren was eating lunch at Cocina 10 at the Crescent Ballroom. Covid put a kink in that - no more lunch service. And then I stopped working downtown daily. Fast forward to 2025, and I'm selected to serve on a grand jury all summer, for $12 a day (plus mileage), 2X a week for four months. Yep. My reality became "where can I go to lunch south of Van Buren, for less than $12 (my daily wage). Amazingly, Condesa delivered! Their $10 lunch specials, including a beverage, chips and soda, are the best buy in downtown! During my adventures in civil service, I was able to make it to Condesa several times. The chips and salsa are as good, if not better, than my memories of Cocina 10. The burritos seem a bit different - may a different flavor to the beans? - but are still delicious. They are slightly grilled, giving the quality tortilla a bit of a crunch. The vegan cheese is unfortunately not an option for the lunch special, but it's worth it for an extra dollar or two. I also had the Cocina 10 ensalada (made vegan) and vegan jackf fruit tacos during my term of service. All good, but the tacos were spicier than expected. The location is an easy walk from either end of downtown, and service is friendly and fast. The dining area is quiet and cool, which was a great help for summers downtown. I never tried to park since I was already down there, but I can imagine that being a problem given the location. But if you are in the downtown area already, and want a high quality, tasty and affordable lunch (or dinner) with vegan options, Condesa is your place!

This spot was such a hidden one till now while I keep eating around this place all the time. Finally discovered this through a friend for a team lunch. I couldn't snap much pictures since it was a business team meeting. Overall I would highly recommend this place for the quality of food you get here and at a very reasonably priced for a quality restaurant. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: Tried a few appetizers on the table to share. As my entree, I got chicken enchiladas. Everything was so delicious here. Good quality food as well. Service: Staff was superb during my visit. They were so friendly. Checked in me multiple times. Interacted with 3 of the staff so can say it should be their restaurant ethics for sure and can assure a great experience during your visit. Ambiance: Ambiance is the first impression you would love this place about. Everything looks classy and very artistics as well. This has a great vibe overall. Hygiene: One of the most cleaned restaurant you can even go to. No complaint during my visit. Everything (table, cutleries, dishes) was clean slate like anything. Price: For the experience they offer and the quality of food that you can feel difference, their menu items are very reasonably priced. If this place was near my home, this may have been my to go place.

Vegan Guacamole w/ Chips (had to say no cotija cheese)

Nice vibe and warm, friendly servers. I appreciate that they stay open late and have clearly labeled vegan items. That said, the vegan options are limited (mostly veggies or beans with vegan cheese, no jackfruit or plant-based proteins on the menu we received), and the food leans spicy. The guac w/ chips was super fresh but pricey at $16, and as a gluten-free vegan I found choices limited since they don't offer GF tortillas (only GF corn for the tacos). Condesa might work if you're looking for a calming late night meal, but won't be back since it didn't meet our needs for variety or value. Glad we gave it a go! 090925

Casa Blanca margarita

As soon as you step inside you're welcomed with a greenery of very well taken care of pothos plants. I came by for a late night bite on a Thursday night and I would have completely forgotten I was in downtown Phoenix except for the booming bass from a nearby club, not their fault so no stars lost. To drink, I had the Casa Blanca margarita which was refreshing blend of citrus and sweet. To eat, I had the Asada Plate and the arrachera was the best I can remember having. It was marinated with great flavor and very tender! The beans and rice were cooked with spices that complimented the beef perfectly. The flour tortillas were fresh and delicious, I wish I could purchase them in bulk! My partner had the Sonoran Dog and two tacos: jackfruit Al pastor and apson. I had some of his papas fritas and they were the BEST! We sat at the bar and the service was welcoming and attentive. I feel like it was good value for the quality of food, service and atmosphere. I hope I can get back here soon!

I've been meaning to check this place out since they moved from Crescent bBallroom and into this place where Liars Club used to be. It's also in the same building as Valley Bar and you're able to get some of the food from here while at Valley Bar. I love when they bring you free chips and salsa for the table and here the chips were all fresh and all 3 kinds of salsa were really delicious and unique. We also got the guacamole and it was really good. I had the al pastor burrito and loved it. It was seared on the outside give it a nice crunch, and the actual flavor of everything in the burrito really hit the spot. On top of everything the service was excellent and all the food came out really quickly. This is a great place to stop in for some really good food or even just a drink when downtown.

El pastor taco

They first start you off with free chips and salsa which were delicious. All green, red, and like a mild habanero. As for the main dishes: Chicken enchiladas-5/5- even though these enchiladas were not that big, the flavor of chicken with cheese topped with creama were perfectly seasoned. Tacos- 4/5- enjoyed the fresh corn made tortilla, but the el pastor meat could've been cooked more for a little charred flavor. Feels as though the meat were sitting in a warmer before getting served, but it was still good. Elote-3/5- the corn was good, but there was too much liquid/water (maybe a one off) in the bowl before you mix the corn season/cheese together. Service- 5/5: I forget our server name, but she was attentive and friendly

These nachos were LOADED!! My friends and I got the vegan nachos, and we're not expecting them to be so large - but we loved the proportion especially for the price! The interior is so cute and even though it looks small on the outside, there was a lot of space on the inside for seating. Perfect place to come to for date night, and it's right next to a lot of the bars I go to in downtown

Over priced burrito $15.

The hostess ( two young ladies) asked me to move it or lose it. Next thing you know, we had security asking me to leave. Definitely not returning to this place.

Stayed in Downtown Phoenix (March 23,2025) tried a small little place called Condesa and was pleasantly surprised. Cool and vibey Mexican restaurant with trendy decor and very clean!! SERVICE: We were seated immediately. Alec helped us this evening and was very friendly and attentive. (Yay Alec!!) FOOD: We tried lots of tacos! Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Shrimp, and Jackfruit Al Pastor. All of them were super tasty!! Also tried the street corn, very good, but very spicy. This place rocked it tonight! Go give them a try if you are staying downtown.

Agua Fresca

I love crescent ballroom so this is automatically 5 stars. I am biased. I have been eating this food for a long time. Service is always great. I love the veggie and vegan menu. Order the papas with jalapeño creama also! Try the agua Fresca with lime juice and simple syrup added for alcohol free drinks. They also have a zero proof non alcoholic drink menu with zero proof tequila. Try the tacos apson veggie, or the jackfruit al pastor taco. Amazing food. Chips and salsa is really really good, I'm addicted to the red. The chips and salsa should be free sad face, but they're $6. It's worth it I guess. There's a lot of things I like here because the flavors are authentic even if it's Americanized, it's very fresh food too. The flavors are always there for me. I do have something negative to say tho #1I tried the flour tortillas for the first time and I'd definitely get corn next time. I think I usually get corn. They're soft corn so it's good. I don't think at crescent I was ever given an option. #2 the tacos were just a bit drippy with juices. Not oily, but juicy. Maybe from the vegetables on my taco or the melted cheese idk. Juicy plate. #3 my boyfriend said the jackfruit al pastor was really spicy this time. I tried it too and I agree. Very spicy today.

I'm so glad we finally went to try Casa Corazon. We met with a friend visiting from out of town…read moreduring lunch, and everyone absolutely loved it. The restaurant is inside of an old brick home with wood interior and warm colors. The service was good-- friendly and food came out at a good pace, we were checked on regularly. We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

The restaurant has a small bar of three seats to enjoy some drinks.. initially we were just going to have margaritas for six dollars during happy hour but decided to have guacamole as well for $10 on happy hour. Guacamole was excellent and came with a bean dip. To complement, our guacamole and chips we checked out the salsa bar. The salsa bar has over six choices of salsa. One of my favorite salsas was hibiscus. We enjoyed our quick happy hour so much that we hope to come back for dinner as I see Mole is on the menu. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I hear that they have open a second venue not too far from the original place. They have an event venue. Their original place is in a former church. The architecture inside is very interesting due to the roof structure.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
