Quick & convenient, small and simple space, very budget friendly- it's one of the few places where you can get lunch for under $10. Went here last night for dinner and had like 5 different meals. Two of the meals fell short. I had al pastor tacos on corn tacos and the flavor just wasn't there. I work as a Chef but honestly the flavor, even the red onions were dull. It was bland, hot sauce was extremely hot. I have no problem with heat but it was hot hot. And the soda machine was out of two different flavors. Busy. I had to sit in the middle of the isle kind of because seating is 4 to a table. Doors were open, it was FREEZING. I love a good taco but I was disappointed. My sister tried a meal that was stomach(?) also and she wasn't a fan, a bit overcooked. $12 for 3 tacos or like $15 for a drink too (but two of the flavors were out so...) I like this location much better than their other ones since it's easier to park, with plenty seats inside as well. Never had an issue finding parking or tables which isn't always the case at their Tempe or downtown Phoenix location. Quality is about the same as other locations, it's pretty consistent most of the time. One time they did over season the chicken and it was SOOO salty, not sure what happened that day. Went a lunch time so possibly the busiest it gets. They have indoor and outdoor. With music , them yelling out orders and traffic there is no real quiet space. But outside was better for that. The Salsa bar had its wide variety of sauces . Onions and lettuce, cucumbers and radishes too. Got the plate lunch with the barbacoa and asada. A lot of meat. Had a piña aqua Fresca. Also huge. Tacos in Phoenix are easy to find. And the majority of the spots are always impressive. So when Taco Boy's came into the scene in 2019 I was relieved that it wasn't just "another taco spot". They got the vibes, the friendly and fast service, the killer food, the drinks, they have it all. After going numerous times I thought they were due for a quick review. When I first ordered, I got 4 tacos and they came out quickly. I hit up the salsa bar where they have an assortment of salsas, onions, cilantro, you know, all the toppings you love on a taco. After devouring them I instantly wanted more so I ordered everything else on the taco menu to try and share with a friend. Everything was fantastic. This was tough. This was close to a 3 star review. The stars: the pollo and asada. This was surprising as these two are often lacking in flavor. The pollo had nice flavor. The asada was my favorite. Greet flavor and nice char. I would definitely get all asada next time I came. The salsas were all unique and had good flavor. Three of them were mild with the rojo being the hot of the bunch, but nothing too crazy. The duds: the tripa and al pastor taco. The tripa was very chewy and not great flavor. The al pastor had some nice charred pieces but there was almost no flavor. Not sure how that was possible, but it was definitely lacking. The service and staff were friendly and fast. Very relaxed atmosphere. There is limited seating inside and out for as busy as they are during lunch. The salsa bar is tricky as it backs into the line to pay and up to the indoor seating as well as the path to outside seating. Some hits and misses but I'd be back for some asada tacos! read more

Last time we were in AZ we stumbled across Taco Boys and all I can say is - What A Find It Was! Corner lot with limited parking but we lucked out. The interior is festive and vibrant. Busy, on the louder side, and a definite buzz of staff, people looking to find a table and several coming in and heading out with their orders. The staff... friendly, in control and keeping it moving. For as busy as it was, I didn't feel like we had to wait long for our food. The team kept it moving - at the frills, refilling the very generous condiments or busing the tables. The FOOD! Did I say I just boarded our flight and I already know where are going for dinner? Yes it is that good. The meat was fresh, had a great chat grilled flavor and was moist. The tortillas were fresh. The condiments were plentiful but even more so flavorful. We were in Phoenix for the night before heading on our flight. The taco meats are constantly being grilled in the back. We loved all the different tacos to choose where we first picked a few and when we finished we went back in line to eat more tacos. I got cabeza and tripa, which I haven't had in a taco before. I visited Phoenix this past weekend and while looking for something to eat, came across Taco Boys. I placed an online pickup order for two chicken quesadillas, salsas, vegetables, chips, and two Agua Frescas. Once my order arrived back at my hotel the only thing in the bag were the two quesadillas which were very dry and overcooked. It's my understanding that the veggies and salsa are what makes the food so good, but I will never know because mine weren't included with my order. Got to try this place in downtown Phoenix. I got the tripas, Al pastor, and carne asada tacos. The tripas was cooked decently with a mixture of soft and fried tripas. Wish it was more consistent in one or the other. The asada and Al pastor was decent. The salsa and condiments were great along with the spacing inside and outdoor seating. The service was very quick but maybe too quick. They forgot part of my friend's order who ordered a vampiros along with tacos and they forgot his vampiros. On my 2nd visit tried the taco Vampiro Barbacoa fajita style, and the Pollo Quesadilla fajita style - both were delicious! These will be my go-to's. If you're looking for authentic tacos this is the place for it! Very casual vibes inside, you place your order at the counter and they call out your name when it's done. From there you get to dress your taco at the toppings bar with all the fixings. We had a group of 4 and got the Chicken plato, which I think is better than ordering single tacos. They give you a big plate of meat and beans with 5 tortillas. I don't eat refried beans though, so the guy gave me 2 more tortillas. The chicken had the perfect char and was very flavorful. It's not a huge spot but has sufficient room. I wish they had more parking but we found a space fairly quickly. We ordered quesabirria quesadillas and tacos with chicken and beef. Omg. I am blown away, what seems like a not that incredible place to eat from the outside, it is definitely worth a try. Tacos are the absolute best i have ever had, so simple but so elaborate in flavor and combinations you can male. They are also very affordable! People are super friendly and service is great. Ambiance is actually quite intriguing, fast pace environment, but accommodating. Even the rest of the customers were great. They also have self serve condiments and sides too, which was great.
