We returned to this restaurant and had an equally pleasant experience as last time. The patio was pleasant but noisy with traffic noise. Our waiter was nice, service was prompt, and our food was good. The chips are still served with a delicious bean dip and the salmon and chile relleno were still good.

    Happy hour tacos

I've been here a few times and love everything I've tried. The pink enchiladas are delicious and a have a delicious twist. The cochanita pibal is my favorite. It's busy for happy hour but the wait is usually short. True to the neighborhood is in a cute little brick house.

From the moment my family and I walked in, we were greeted with a smile and seated within five minutes. Once we sat down, our waiter brought us water. The decorations were all so cute and in addition to the lighting made the experience even better. The food was phenomenal and I highly recommend getting the chicken enchiladas as the sauce was amazing. My only complaint was the chips which were $6 a bowl after the first one.

We had been wanting to eat here after we saw it on "Check Please Arizona!" and finally found ourselves in close range. What a great place. We were there at happy hour so we ordered margaritas and tacos off of that menu. The margaritas tasted scratch made and the tacos were awesome! The Corazon taco is a must try. We also had carne asada, chicken and Al Pastor. All were great. Planning to return and order off the regular menu as there was a lot there that was intriguing. Service was great too. I will say it gets a bit loud when it's full. Other than that it's a highly recommend!

What a terrific southern Mexican focus! So delicious! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had the Azteca Tinga which was a perfect southern blend of chicken, rice, and black beans and I chose the house made corn tortillas. The very first bite was an immediate taste of legitimate authentic southern Mexican blend and just plain delicious. There is also a featured salsa bar with different delicious flavors. My wife and daughter had the flautas which weren't your typical idea of flautas bought anywhere else. I took a bite of my wife's who ordered beef. They were hand rolled, either lightly fried or baked. They weren't greasy at all and served enchilada style. The beef was tender and could easily be cut with a fork and practically melted in your mouth. Magnificent. I had the Casa Corazon margarita which was the perfect blend of corazon tequila, lemon juice, Cointreau, with fresh lime, grapefruit, on a salted brim. Our server had a terrific smile, so friendly and attentive. The restaurant got a tad warm once the sun shifted overhead (July in Arizona). The restaurant is a remodel of a much older Phoenix building. Reservations accepted and highly recommended when our weather gets nice because there was also outdoor seating. Thank you! We'll be back!

Casa Corazon has delicious food, a beautiful restaurant, and great staff. Everything we had was delicious from the queso to the tacos. They have a salsa bar with so many different options to try. Even for a party of people who do not love spicy, we were able to find something for us. The signature sauce on the food was a bit spicy for us, but that did not deter from the flavor. The drinks we ordered were delicious. Overall, we had a great experience here and we will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

This was definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Arizona and trust me, I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants! They're open everyday from 11am-9pm except the weekend (they open at 10am and close at 10pm on Fri & Sat!) Parking was slightly small but not a big issue since they have their own parking lot Service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive Inside was beautifully decorated and had a good amount of seating! They've HAPPY HOUR on the weekdays 3-6pm! The HH menu consists of: - $4 tacos (asada, Al pastor, chicken, veggie, corazon, cochinta pibil, tinga, and mole) - guacamole ($10) - freshly made!! - street corn ($10) - regular ($6)/skinny ($8), spicy margarita ($8) There's also a lunch special menu on the weekdays 11am-3pm! The regular menu consists of a good variety of burritos, tacos, and popular Mexican entrees and appetizers! Everything was pretty reasonably priced and most dishes were $20+. The complimentary chips were so crispy and fresh! It came with a freshly made bean dip and it was so delicious! Really enjoyed there was a salsa bar where there was plenty of different kinds of salsa to choose! I especially liked the pineapple salsa! The Horchata ($5) was so good! It wasn't too sweet and it was so refreshing! It was so fresh and didn't taste artificial! Got the Mix & Match - $16.95 - got one beef enchilada & asada taco! The enchilada was so yummy! It was so cheesy and flavorful without being too salty. The beef was so well seasoned and it was packed with meat! The taco was so delicious! The tortilla was so fresh and the asada was so flavorful and tender! Really enjoyed how much meat and how big the taco was! This was 9/10 Would definitely recommend and return!

Found this little gem today. I'm a bit of a mole snob and this mole is top 3 I have ever had. Ambience is nice and cozy. Salsa bar has plenty of options hot and mild. My Nila's loved the chile relleno. Food is authentic and servers are attentive. Recommend if you are in the area

Yes please! We went for happy hour which includes $4 tacos and $6 margaritas. It was one of the best margaritas I've ever had! So citrusy and fresh. The tacos are quite large too, stuffed full of meat. They have a salsa bar with all kinds of traditional and inventive offerings. The inside is gorgeous and they offer some patio seating. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I'm hoping to be back to try their brunch.

    Shrimp kulichi
    Ankita G.

One of the best restaurants serving the most amazing, award-winning Shrimp Culichi--hands down the best dish I've ever tried! The flavors were rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely unforgettable. I also tried Agua Mazapán (peanut milk) for the first time, and it was surprisingly addictive. Their salsa bar deserves a special mention, offering an incredible variety of unlimited salsas ranging from hibiscus and pineapple to serrano pepper and many more unique flavors. The ambiance was warm and inviting, paired with genuinely good service. We loved the restaurant so much that we made sure to visit again before leaving. Truly a memorable dining experience!

It was our first visit to the restaurant based on the recommendation of a friend very good, nice ambience, good character, a whole generally good feel to the restaurant. I got the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce. They have lots of specials that night. Also many good choices. I think I'll get the shrimp in the future. The ceviche was out of this world. And I don't know how they cook their rice, but it was some of the best rice I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. I also tried one beef taco that is dipped in some sort of a sauce. That was really good and very crispy delicious.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the service was okay overall. The staff were polite, but the food was bland. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I was hoping for a much better meal.

Came here last minute and was so glad we did. Got a happy hour 6.00 marg and it was so good. I got the steak and chicken fajitas it was huge and I had left overs, it came with rice and beans too. My hubby got the cheese enchiladas in green sauce, it's always a winner. The salsa bar is fantastic I can't get enough of the creamy green sauce. We were seated immediately and drink orders taken right away. Love this little bungalow house style restaurant.

I was happy about the little purse hooks on the table (iykyk). The outside area, not so much. It's on the corner of a strip mall, there was some etched graffiti on the outside windows, which made you aware of the area you were in. (That's the reason for the 1 star deduction.) The place is very small! So yes, you WILL want to make a reservation. We went around 3:30 on a Friday and I would say 3/4 of the tables had reserved signs on them starting at 5pm on up. The receptionist was constantly back and forth looking at them and moving them around to make space for walk-ins. I would skip bringing your kids here. I didn't use the restroom so idk if that was nice or not. The food was fantastic! And the portions were big. The price matched the portions and quality in our opinion. It's hard to find quality food that's worth the cost lately. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. And hubby ordered a Mexican coke, and the server brought him a frosty glass for it. Everyone around us looked like they were enjoying their food. Our server was great. He chatted with us for a while when we told him about seeing the place on IG. He was grateful for the customers. But admitted, it's caused an influx of people and the 'regulars' have become annoyed. Which is understandable. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area but probably not drive that far out of our way again.

But I wanted something hearty after donating blood the day before at Phoenix Fan Fusion. I felt like I didn't eat enough to replenish all of the corpuscles I shed, so a hearty late breakfast was in order. I was pleasantly thrilled with my choice of Presidio Cocina Mexicana, as the late breakfast I ordered did not disappoint! I ordered the Chilaquiles, which are essentially breakfast nachos, and you have a choice of protein to add. I chose the birria beef which was perfectly slow-cooked and complemented the corn tortilla chips, cheese, and eggs superbly. I opted for both the red chile and green chile sauce which coated the chips along with a generous layer of tangy cotija cheese. I asked for the eggs scrambled and they cooked them just how I like them... fairly dry and in a thin griddled layer. Add to this mound of well-seasoned goodness a decent dolloping of Tapatio hot sauce (and salt and pepper on the eggs) and I had endless perfect bites of spicy, meaty brekkie goodness that brought delighted yummy sounds from my grateful gullet! This was quality food and the couple at the bar next to me raved about the Menudo, so it has all the hallmarks of authentic Mexican fare. It restored me from borderline anemic to my usual strutting rugged caballero self. "¡Arriba, arriba! ¡Ándale, ándale!"

Sometimes the best meals happen because your original plan falls through. That was exactly the case…read morehere, and honestly... I'm not even a little mad about it. I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

Idk maybe I don't know where to look. Second, it's hot AF in here. I feel sorry for the guys cooking. It's 105 today and the restaurant is so small, it's probably impossible to keep cool during the summer. Finally, the food. It all tastes very fresh! NO SEED OILS is amazing. I feel like I have won something when I find a restaurant that uses olive oil and beef tallow to cook in. Best corn tortillas I have had for sure. We basically tried one of each taco. (Although some of the tacos we ordered were wrong, so we just kept adding) not a big deal, because they were delicious and we loved them. I felt like the carne was chewy but my husband loves chewier meat. The taco with the marlin was my favorite. And the one that came out kind of like a cheese crisp. It's loud in here and again the space is very small. They do not serve wine at all. But yummy margaritas! The bartender is working solo and working hard! She busted her butt and did an amazing job. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
