Happy Hour Margarita.
Jason B.

We had been wanting to eat here after we saw it on "Check Please Arizona!" and finally found ourselves in close range. What a great place. We were there at happy hour so we ordered margaritas and tacos off of that menu. The margaritas tasted scratch made and the tacos were awesome! The Corazon taco is a must try. We also had carne asada, chicken and Al Pastor. All were great. Planning to return and order off the regular menu as there was a lot there that was intriguing. Service was great too. I will say it gets a bit loud when it's full. Other than that it's a highly recommend!

Casa Corazon has delicious food, a beautiful restaurant, and great staff. Everything we had was delicious from the queso to the tacos. They have a salsa bar with so many different options to try. Even for a party of people who do not love spicy, we were able to find something for us. The signature sauce on the food was a bit spicy for us, but that did not deter from the flavor. The drinks we ordered were delicious. Overall, we had a great experience here and we will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Mole

Found this little gem today. I'm a bit of a mole snob and this mole is top 3 I have ever had. Ambience is nice and cozy. Salsa bar has plenty of options hot and mild. My Nila's loved the chile relleno. Food is authentic and servers are attentive. Recommend if you are in the area

Extraordinary modern Mexican food with a romantic atmosphere and great service. This was a masterful Mexican food meal. We enjoyed the variety at the salsa bar - something for everyone. The mole negro had a great flavor profile. The most unique camarones culichi with best green sauce for seafood. The dessert was a fusion of flan and cream brunette- must try! Highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning -- 100%

Ceviche shrimp.avocado. I think jicama and some onions. Very fresh and crisp .

It was our first visit to the restaurant based on the recommendation of a friend very good, nice ambience, good character, a whole generally good feel to the restaurant. I got the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce. They have lots of specials that night. Also many good choices. I think I'll get the shrimp in the future. The ceviche was out of this world. And I don't know how they cook their rice, but it was some of the best rice I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. I also tried one beef taco that is dipped in some sort of a sauce. That was really good and very crispy delicious.

Yes please! We went for happy hour which includes $4 tacos and $6 margaritas. It was one of the best margaritas I've ever had! So citrusy and fresh. The tacos are quite large too, stuffed full of meat. They have a salsa bar with all kinds of traditional and inventive offerings. The inside is gorgeous and they offer some patio seating. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I'm hoping to be back to try their brunch.

This was definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Arizona and trust me, I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants! They're open everyday from 11am-9pm except the weekend (they open at 10am and close at 10pm on Fri & Sat!) Parking was slightly small but not a big issue since they have their own parking lot Service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive Inside was beautifully decorated and had a good amount of seating! They've HAPPY HOUR on the weekdays 3-6pm! The HH menu consists of: - $4 tacos (asada, Al pastor, chicken, veggie, corazon, cochinta pibil, tinga, and mole) - guacamole ($10) - freshly made!! - street corn ($10) - regular ($6)/skinny ($8), spicy margarita ($8) There's also a lunch special menu on the weekdays 11am-3pm! The regular menu consists of a good variety of burritos, tacos, and popular Mexican entrees and appetizers! Everything was pretty reasonably priced and most dishes were $20+. The complimentary chips were so crispy and fresh! It came with a freshly made bean dip and it was so delicious! Really enjoyed there was a salsa bar where there was plenty of different kinds of salsa to choose! I especially liked the pineapple salsa! The Horchata ($5) was so good! It wasn't too sweet and it was so refreshing! It was so fresh and didn't taste artificial! Got the Mix & Match - $16.95 - got one beef enchilada & asada taco! The enchilada was so yummy! It was so cheesy and flavorful without being too salty. The beef was so well seasoned and it was packed with meat! The taco was so delicious! The tortilla was so fresh and the asada was so flavorful and tender! Really enjoyed how much meat and how big the taco was! This was 9/10 Would definitely recommend and return!

Shrimp kulichi

One of the best restaurants serving the most amazing, award-winning Shrimp Culichi--hands down the best dish I've ever tried! The flavors were rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely unforgettable. I also tried Agua Mazapán (peanut milk) for the first time, and it was surprisingly addictive. Their salsa bar deserves a special mention, offering an incredible variety of unlimited salsas ranging from hibiscus and pineapple to serrano pepper and many more unique flavors. The ambiance was warm and inviting, paired with genuinely good service. We loved the restaurant so much that we made sure to visit again before leaving. Truly a memorable dining experience!

Came here last minute and was so glad we did. Got a happy hour 6.00 marg and it was so good. I got the steak and chicken fajitas it was huge and I had left overs, it came with rice and beans too. My hubby got the cheese enchiladas in green sauce, it's always a winner. The salsa bar is fantastic I can't get enough of the creamy green sauce. We were seated immediately and drink orders taken right away. Love this little bungalow house style restaurant.

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant located in Phoenix. This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I was not disappointed. They have a salsa bar where you can try a bunch of different salsas included with your meal, and happy hour drinks. I got the house margarita and found it to be quite strong. I ordered the pink sauce chicken enchiladas, and they were pretty good. (To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between the pink sauce and the red sauce enchiladas I usually get) The traditional rice and beans were good as well. We sat outside on the little patio, and although there isn't too much seating out there, we really enjoyed the ambience outside with the trees and mood lighting. The staff was friendly and our food came out reasonably fast. We didn't make any reservations and came around 5pm on a Friday; we got seated right away. There is a lot of seating inside but not a ton of parking in the parking lot. Still, I would come again.

I've tried many Mexican restaurants, but Casa Corazon truly stole my heart. The food is incredibly delicious, rich flavors, beautifully prepared, and every bite tastes so comforting and special. It is a little on the pricey side, but once you taste the food, you understand why it's absolutely worth it. The inside of the restaurant is lovely and thoughtfully decorated, giving you the feeling of walking through an old town. Everything is clean, cozy, and welcoming. The staff is so kind and attentive, always checking on you with a smile to make sure you're enjoying everything and don't need anything else. Amazing food, warm service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Such a lovely place for a special meal and special dates . I can't wait to come back again

Nopales

Absolutely adorable restaurant in a former church. The rustic vibe was so charming! Came here for the first time for our anniversary. We arrived at 1215 on Sun afternoon and it wasn't yet busy which was good. We ordered Chile en Nogada and Camarones Culichi. Before I race about the good, let me tell you about the salsa bar! There were multiple types of salsa ranging from regular pico de gallo to pineapple to hibiscus and a creamy green. The winner for me was a tie between the hibiscus and creamy green--absolutely phenomenal flavors that are completely unexpected on the salsa bar. The chile en nogada was like a meaty warm fruity salad in a pepper. Pomegranate seeds on top a nice crunch and the pork was a savory balance against the sweet fruits! The camarones culichi was a delicious avocado cream sauce enrobing grilled shrimp and covered with melted cheese. Simple flavors that don't overpower the tastebuds. The rice was a white rice w veggies w lite salt. Also came w homemade tortillas. (Note to self: great dessert if you just have a side of honey and butter!) The nopales were served grilled w onions--the perfect char with just the right ratio of onions so it didn't become the star. Lol Will definitely come back to enjoy other dishes and this time, hopefully make it to dessert!

We found such a nice little Mexican food spot. The entrance leads you in with the kitchen on your direct left and the dining room/seating to the right. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. Great spot for family or a date night. The staff were all kind and professional, all the food and drinks came out fairly quickly. 5 Star - hibiscus salsa was amazing. Unique and unlike anything we've had before. There is a decent amount of heat on the back end, it subtly comes. We put this just about all the food we had. 5 Star - Margarita Flight. The size of the drinks and the amount of alcohol was surprisingly fantastic. The base flavors came across as an aguas frescas which provided more depth of flavor. Our favorite was the hibiscus, then the cucumber jalapeño and last strawberry. 4 Star - The taco corazon: the shredded beef was a bit sweet but full of flavor. The grilled onions on top were a nice touch. This would be a five star if the taco were crispy. I really enjoyed the marinade on the Al Pastor taco was. It wasn't goopy and the balance of pineapple and onions made this an above average taco. 4 Star - The Chiles En Nogada was almost a 3 Star. It was really good, with a great amount of flavorful pork. We would have liked if they add more dried fruit, to better balance the amount of pork. The sauce was perfectly sweet, but we would have liked it to be a little less grainy, so blend it for longer. 4 Star - The white rice was sweet and something neither of us have tasted before. The rice had pineapple, corn and maybe a little bit of carrot. So simple but really well done. 4 Star - The guacamole was not the best we have had, but it was better than most restaurants. It was freshly made and there were great size pieces of avocado too. 3.5 Star - The tacos de chicharron. The fried pork skin rinds were wonderfully crispy but they were lacking in flavor a bit. I was not a fan of the house paste tomatoes. I was so excited for this but the soft corn tortilla with crispy pork rinds and heavy amount of paste just didn't work for me. Overall we were very impressed with the uniqueness of their food and drinks, as well as the quality overall. We will be absolutely be back to try more items on their menu! 3*** = Good but no separation from similar restaurants 4**** = Set themselves a part with unique food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

We…read morewere sat and waited for our server Donte to show up and I don't know if he was new but man he was not a good server. We first ordered drinks my wife got a traditional margarita and I got the jalapeño pineapple margarita. I mean there were ok but definitely have had better. The cups they served it in is not the appropriate cups for this drink. Along with the drinks came the chips and salsa which were surprisingly good. Now the food. My wife ordered the chimichanga with red sauce and i ordered shrimp tacos. Nearly 35 mins later and 2 basket of chips gone our food arrives. Her chimichanga was covered in green sauce not red like she ordered and my shrimp tacos were inedible. The shrimp was sooo hard I literally couldn't pull them apart and the crunch I heard while I tried to chew it (which is a clear indicator that it's way over cooked) grossed me out. When my waiter finally came around, after stopping at the table behind us and the 2 tables in front of us, I let him know how bad these tacos were. He took my food and exchanged it for birria tacos. I didn't have to wait long before my tacos arrived. Again they were good but not great. So as we finished our dinner the waiter was nowhere to be found. 11 mins later he comes outside where we were sitting didn't acknowledge us and once again went to the other tables around us. He does whatever it is the other patrons asked him to and goes back inside. When he comes back out he had a tray of drinks dropping them off at the previous tables mentioned and then once again heads back inside. Luckily I grabbed his attention prior him to completing going inside and asked him for a box. Now I was in the food business for almost 16 years and managed servers in those 16 years. Most servers understand when a patron asks for a box to go that usually means they're done and ready to go, so naturally you'd think as he's retrieving the box you'd bring the check. Nope not Donte he brings the box and walks away. Comes back later to pick up the dirty dishes and continues to walk away again, I had to tell him we wanted our check. With all the choices in downtown for food and drink id avoid this one for sure. To think we were up in the air between this place and Arrogant Butcher. Clearly we chose wrong. And one more thing when food gets returned for whatever reason a manager should make an appearance. Nope not here
