The bartenders at Blanco are awesome. They're Cinco de Mayo specials were some margarita specials like a skinny spicy Marg. The chili rim made me sneeze lol. They had a live mariachi band to make the night more festive. The short rib enchiladas were a little fatty, but overall very tasty.

ok so i ate here 3 times my last stay in Phoenix. Classic carnitas tacos were on my plate each time. Very GF friendly. only reason i didn't give 5 stars was the last day i was there for lunch, tacos were still good but they were a bit drier than they had my previous 2 trips.

We had an amazing server(Blance,) amazing service, amazing food! 5 STARS!!! I was grumpy and came in and it was very packed yet got a table of 4 ready in 10 minutes-the food also came out super fast as in maybe 5 to 10 minutes- the food was so good I instantly turned happy again! AGAIN 5 STARS!!!

If you're visiting the Great Canyon state, swing by this place in Phoenix. Friendly staff and an open seating area with a bar, this is a great spot for a great Mexican meal any time. I came here for lunch on cinco de mayo and they didn't disappoint. I had the chicken Tinga bowl and it was a healthy portion and delicious. Would highly recommend.

We had just been to a show at the science center and wanted a good meal close by. We found this spot hoping for good food. Unfortunately, this was average at best. I had the chicken salad which was good - just not great or even really good. The margarita was a bit better than average. The grilled Mexican street corn was pretty good and probably the best thing we had. I had ordered a crispy beef taco and it was far too salty and overly spiced (not hot but just tasted liked they dumped the whole can of spice into the meat). My wife had the trio meal which was a cheese enchilada and a tostada and taco. She had the same takeaway. It is a shame as the atmosphere was pretty good and Nick the server was great. He has a larger than life personality and was attentive. We probably won't come back as there are better spots for the money.

I was told when in AZ you must have Mexican and Blanco came highly recommended so I gave them a try.... The experience was OUTSTANDING! I sat at the bar and evwn though the place was very busy, service was great Indoor and outdoor bar seating, outdoor tables too. Vibrant atmospere, a little loud due to that but not too loud. Great cocktail menu. Amazing food - fresh and flavorful. Tacos were very generously sized What I ate: TACO - GRILLED MAHI: avocado, cilantro lime slaw, chipotle crema, cotija cheese, pico de galo TACO - CRISPY SWEET POTATO: avocado, queso, chile negra, cotija, pickled onion, cilantro QUESO: pico, avacado, pico MARGARITA - JALAPEÑO & PINEAPPLE: ancho reves chili liaueur, habanero bitters MARGARITA - LAS FRUTAS: blanco tequila, ilegal joven, smashed raspberry & blackberry, cinnamon My rating rationale +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Great Mexican option in downtown Phoenix. We came in on a busy Saturday and our wait was less than 30 minutes. Great cocktails, loved the option to make burritos into bowls and we all loved our food. It was a bit obvious certain items like guacamole had been made in advance but the meals were so well executed. Or waiter was super friendly as well.

The place has a great vibe, very lively and spacious. Decor is modern and classy. The service was very good, our server Nick was funny, friendly and efficient. The food was good, too. But it was SO NOISY that we couldn't even have a conversation. Between the bad acoustics and loud music, it was almost painful! Margaritas were average.

Came to celebrate with family on Friday and we had a good time. We were a party of 11 and we all kind of arrived at different times. The hostess was friendly and sat us down as we walked in. The server came over right away and took our drink orders. Once the rest of our party arrived, she went ahead and took our food orders. I ordered the Caesar avocado salad + grilled chicken and the table shared the queso + ground beef appetizer. My salad was good and the chicken was flavorful. The salad itself was crunchy and had the right amount of dressing mixed in. The queso was delicious and it was served warm. The salsa and chips were a hit. Service was great and everyone was friendly. The inside is nicely decorated.

Came here for a quick lunch before picking a friend up from the airport. The location was nice, and I was able to find street parking. We were able to get seated quickly as there was no rush yet. My friends and I got a margarita pitcher to start. It was pretty strong, and there was more than enough for each of us to have multiple glasses (3 of us). In addition to the margarita pitcher, we got queso to start, which was delicious. The chips were nice and warm, and we tore the queso up. The queso had a nice, salty flavor that wasn't overpowering, and it was delicious. For entrees, I got the Carne Asada Burrito bowl while my friends got the tacos and another Carne Asada Burrito bowl. The food was delicious. Everything was plated nicely and tasted good. I was very pleased with my meal, as everything had lots of flavor and went well together to create a nice bowl. The waiter we had was okay. He kept forgetting to bring things to the table, and we had to keep reminding him. Nonetheless, I would come back for the drinks, happy hour, and the food.

This is the second location. I've tried of Blanco cocina and Cantina and I recommend always stopping in. We came in for the margarita special and ended up getting the margarita tree, which is four margaritas whatever flavor you would like. We sat at the bar and we're taking care of quickly. And the location has an indoor outdoor bar so if you're sitting on one side of the bar, you are on the side of the street where you can see everything and be outside. Highly recommend coming to any Blanco you come across.

Have been passing by Blanco for a few months now whenever I would come downtown I finally got a chance to check it out after work. It was the lunch rush so every table was full, so I ending up sitting at the bar. The bar was a little cluttered from the rush, but the bartender quickly cleaned everything up and grabbed me a menu. While checking out the menu I checked out others food and was so excited by the colors and the portion sizes--wow! I decided to get the chicken tings bowl and when I got it, well it was smaller than I expected, but the taste was phenomenal! The chicken was tender and so seasoned well and complimented the queso, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole! Wow! I would come back for another bowl or even some enchiladas which looked amazing!! The staff were kind and patient as I finally decided to get the Agua fresco with pomegranate, which I was told by them was a new menu item. It was super refreshing and so delicious! Minus one star for the flies and nats that would never go away and were super distracting. I think having small individual fans around the bar would be a great help!

My team for my job I went to this location since it's right across the street from my job for all day happy hour on Tuesdays on certain drinks and food specials. We made a reservation and only had to wait a few minutes until our table was ready, and it was a lot of people already in the restaurant due to the specials . Once seated, our waitress was very kind and friendly, and gave us time to look over the menu and took our drink orders . You receive complementary chips and salsa upon seating a few of us order the queso the chicken and Carne Asada tacos and the grill ciao burger with fries with margaritas beers and waters . Everything we tried was good. My only suggestion is to make sure that the fries come out hot upon every order because my fries were cold, but my burger was more. They do have happy hour during the week, but on Tuesdays is all day which is a plus .

Ask the Community - Blanco Cocina + Cantina

Does it cost to make reservations for a party of 10?

We had a party of 12 and they didn't charge us to make a reservation

Would I have to pay for parking?

We parked in garage right next to it and it was free with restaurant validation. Up to 2 hours I believe.

    Is there a kids menu?

No, not that I recall. Blanco Cocina is more a downtown, swanky bar-bar than a place for children. That said, certainly children would be welcome, but no, it's not a kid-friendly venue per se.

We had a party of 10 and it was so fun. We all had drinks a some people ordered food. Due to party size there was auto gratuity and only 4 cards max. The bar is in the basement of the hotel. We all had a great time and shared laughs and everything. I love the setting of it though. It's a bit dark so we had to use phone lights to see the menu. But it feels like stepping into a whole new world once you enter. I think it's perfect for hanging out. Date night. Anniversary dinner. All of it. Our server was nice. Very friendly. I think he could use a little more on his hospitality just because sometimes I feel like he didn't know what to say exactly. A little disappointed that there wasn't really anything special for a birthday though. Not even a little card on the table that said happy birthday. Just a thought. Other fine dining establishments I've been in did.

He then confirmed we were still within the happy hour window and offered to bring us a menu. They used to have an extensive happy hour menu featuring several drinks and food items and now their "happy hour menu" consists of a cheeseburger for $22. Not sure that that really constitutes as a happy hour menu... I asked him why they changed the menu and he put up his hands as if to say he's not to blame and said he doesn't have anything to do with those decisions. He said that "management decided to make a few substitutions but they're pretty good" and didn't provide any further elaboration. I ordered the appetizer lamb lollipops which had four small pieces for $25. My friend decided to try the "happy hour" cheeseburger and he said it was good but it did appear a bit overpriced for an average burger with a pretty hefty serving of french fries. I really wasn't impressed by the quality of the food, the portion size, the price, or the service. Unfortunately, I'll be taking Rough Rider off my list of regular places i frequent and restaurants I recommend to others.

It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

Another 5 star visit to Pigtails!…read more My husband and I came with my parents to celebrate their birthday Friday night and were wise to make this our first stop on our speakeasy tour of Phoenix! Jack was quick to greet and seat us while Eulalio expertly crafted some delicious mystery shots we requested that even came with a flaming garnish to be treated like birthday candles! We LOVED it!! We arrived during happy hour so we also ordered some oysters and shrimp to graze on, FANTASTIC! The oysters were good but the star of the show? The 6 HUGE shrimps and fresh cocktail sauce.. what a way to start the night! Absolutely fantastic, no notes and totally a must try when you're in the heart of this beautiful city!

I asked the bartender for her favorite drink and she said the "Black Magic Woman" which was a blackberry infused bourbon cocktail. It was great, and for my second drink I asked her the most unique drink on the menu and she said "Down The Rabbit Hole" which was tequila based and had carrot among other things and cream cheese foam. Who knew that was a thing? Also delicious. My friend and I were going to have one more cocktail but we decided to check out another bar simply for variety. But definitely a rad spot and I'd happily come back.

I wish they give the options of mushrooms like Enochi and King Oysters along with extra condiments for the Suki Sauce like Garlic, Chilli and Lime juice. The service was really good and attentive. This place really took me back to the Moo Kra Ta buffets in Bangkok and made me nostalgic. I hope they do have more options in terms of seafood and veggies! I hope the restaurant specifies clearly that the services are on reservation basis only because it isn't clarified anywhere yet. This would help a lot of people. Also, I hope the restaurant informs, directs and put in place about the parking spaces available around. Can't wait to get back already!

Located in Downtown Phoenix, the parking situation is a little hairy. There is paid parking nearby,…read morebut it definitely is better to come a little earlier to scope out the parking situation and get that sorted before your reservation. My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.

We were very comfortably dressed, and no one looked sideways at us, but there were definitely people dressed to the nines! There was a party of women next to us, that were celebrating a birthday. We obliged them by taking their pictures all over the instagramable bar. Ryan was our waiter, and he is tops. Made some really good recommendations and was welcoming and attentive. I was just there for the drinks and enjoyed a lovely glass (or two) of wine, but my friends were feeling more adventurous and ordered some of their inventive cocktails. Including a couple of "Shot in the Dark" which could be ANYTHING. Also a burger was ordered and then brought up repeatedly for the next two days. According to him, it was possibly the best burger he had ever had. His face lit up at first bite. The menu is a mishmash of interesting options and the whole experience was not what we anticipated. In the best way.
