Seems to be a newer local chain. I have eaten at this location first then went to the Glendale one as parking was way easier. Food quality was the same at both. I've eaten at every recommended taco place around the Phx area recently and I can confidentially say Tacos Los Vales is the best in town overall. The tortillas taste very fresh, they also give you two per order (as it should be). The tacos are generously filled, the meat is grilled on an open flame, and the salsa bar is immaculate. Prices are more than reasonable. I'll be back very often! read more

Came in today for lunch 6/14/26 for the first time! There are meter parkings right outside the restaurant. The place is spacious for a downtown phoenix restaurant, also very clean. The staff were really friendly and they kept checking on me while I dined, which is very nice for a taco place. I got 1 carne asada (beef) taco, 1 adobada (pork taco), consome (beef soup), 2 Birria tacos, 1 quesabirria. All were delicious! All the meat were flavorful and juicy. I love the consome. It's nice they have consome by itself or with the Birria meat in it. The tacos came with the grilled onion and grilled pepper, which was so good! All the sides are free and unlimited and self serve: different types of salsa, lime, onion, cilantro, cucumber, guac, etc. all the sauces were yummy! One of them was more roasted, one was spicy, and the other one was green chile sauce. FYI: I asked for a cup of water, and they gave me a cold water bottle and charged $0.50 , so I didn't know they charged for water. I will definitely be back to try more! read more

I'm a small-town girl who lives close to the border, so I'm used to enjoying authentic carne asada and birria across the border -- that definitely influences my taste. On this visit, I ordered a carne asada vampiro, a birria taco, and an horchata. The birria, in my opinion, lacked a bit of flavor and could have used more seasoning. The salsa also needed a little more garlic for my liking. That said, the food was still good -- quita el antojo for sure! The horchata was on point -- very refreshing and delicious. The restaurant itself was very clean and offered both indoor and outdoor seating, which we loved. Menu is very limited, they technically have no veggie options but they said I could order whatever without the meat and provided a recommendation. I took their advice. My husband got the pork tacos. They have a top your own taco bar with many topping options. I topped mine with cabbage, onions, green salsa, guacamole and cucumber. I loved my tacos! So delicious and flavorful. Beans were nice. My husband liked his but said the meat was lacking in flavor. He wished there was more salt and seasoning. Ambiance was nice, I liked the music and plenty of seating- both indoor and outdoor. The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful. The meat was seasoned well and cooked to moist perfection. The adobada was my favorite of the two tacos. The asada was still a delight, the adobada was just a new experience and tasted great. Make sure when visititing that you don't miss the topping bar, lots of salsa, pico, onion coices! They open at 0800 so one could grab "breakfast tacos" if they were so inclined. I am here for about 3 weeks and will make it back there again! Tried this place on a recommendation. Did not disappoint! Had carne asada and pork adobada tacos. Both were excellent. The adobada tacos were dressed in cabbage cilantro and grilled onions. There's a condiment/ salsa bar that has all those items if you want to add more. Big portions, full size tacos not the typical three bite street tacos. $3.30 for each makes it a GREAT value. Only reason for 4 stars is they need a red salsa that's not fire. I like spicy salsa but this was too spicy in my opinion. A red salsa with lots of flavor and some heat is all they're lacking.
