I ventured out for a luncheon today and happened upon a rather marvelous establishment named Cielo Rojo. The initial arrival was entirely seamless, as the venue offers absolute convenience for parking, which always sets an exquisite tone for the afternoon. While the interior footprint is somewhat more intimate than the exterior facade might suggest, it is wonderfully curated and exceptionally convenient. Upon crossing the threshold, I noted a delightfully serene dining room with just a few select patrons present. The space is beautifully adorned with an array of sophisticated bird sculptures a unique aesthetic touch that I found immensely impressive. A charming gentleman promptly escorted me to an excellent, highly comfortable table and elegantly explained the house specialties, a gesture that brought me complete satisfaction. To begin my mid-day refreshment, I requested an El Presidente cocktail, which proved to be remarkably crisp and refreshing. On the superb guidance of the staff, I proceeded to order the Carnitas accompanied by a side of pristine white rice. The kitchen executed the order to absolute perfection. The presentation was immaculate, and the meats were nothing short of spectacular exquisitely tender, rich, and bursting with delicious, refined flavor. The entire experience possessed a beautiful, nostalgic quality that truly resonated with me. The seamless combination of attentive hospitality, unique decor, and flawless culinary execution was an absolute treat. Another 5-star experience at this amazing restaurant. My first visit was on a busy, packed Saturday night with a large group of friends. This visit was during a very quiet Tuesday evening with just one dining companion. What was unchanged: the service and the food! I again tried camarones divorciado, which is just fabulous. Ordered El Burrazo Beautiful presentation/plating basically a chimichanga. This was my first time here so I didn't wanna go with nothing extravagant want to go with the basics. It couldn't have be more basic than what I ordered and actually what I received. The burrito was supposed to be a beef burrito chimichanga I ended up with a rice and bean, mostly rice and a little bit of meat.. Highly disappointed Authentic, I wanna say more like Taco Bell when they stuff their burritos full rice. If the first ingredient in a burrito is beef then that should be the main ingredient not full of rice and beans When restaurants disguise their burritos with fillers, I have a big problem with them. On top of that with a soda was $25 So I basically paid for an overpriced rice burrito The place was beautiful inside it was very Mexican authentic a mariachi band played which was a little too loud, actually very too loud for the the restaurant, I couldn't even hear the waitress talk to me I understand music is supposed to be submersed in the culture, but if you can't even hear your waitress, there's a little bit of a problem I'm gonna try to give them another chance though. Wow wow wow! This has been on my "to try" list for a couple of months. The inside is so cool, amazing paintings on the wall, very chill environment. We were seated right away. Chips and salsa was good- loved the green salsa. They brought up ceviche on tostadas - so fresh and delicious. Then I had the beef flautas and my husband had the el chingadazo fries. I picked up my sister from the airport and thought this would be a good spot to try. We arrived around 8 PM on a Friday, so I was expecting a long wait--but there wasn't one, which was a nice bonus. We were seated right away, and at first, the service seemed good. Unfortunately, after we placed our order, our server wasn't around much. I ordered the fajitas, and the food itself was solid--the meat was flavorful, the shrimp was good, and the rice and beans were tasty. The restaurant was also clean and well-lit, which I appreciated. One downside for me is the digital-only menu. I think they should also offer paper menus, especially since they seem to market themselves as an upscale Mexican restaurant. Would I go back? The food was delicious. We started with the guacamole and then had their Molcajete- so good, highly recommend. The margaritas were also really good and we enjoyed the saxophone music for the dinner hour. My only piece of constructive feedback for the owner is to install some dimmer switches on the lights. It's a new place so I'm giving them grace. It lacked flow. We didn't know who our server was half the time. The food was ok only. Lots of bells and whistles but food could be lots better for the price point. My biggest gripe. We ordered two $16 margaritas. We wanted to sub the tequila for another. We got the bill, the separate charge for tequila sub was $28! Typically there is a slight up charge for a premium substitute, but not this high. We were not told about the cost difference. Picked up my sister for lunch and was going to a different restaurant when we saw the Mariachis going into this place and we had to change our plans and come here, for the first time. The Mariachis are fantastic, some of the best that I have ever heard. The hostess asked my wife if we had reservations she said no, but it was our first time so she went ahead and hooked us up with a table. The food here is absolutely great. The waitresses are awesome, very attentive and kind. Our waitress was Eileen, she is very good at her job. I highly recommend asking for her if you come in to dine. Mariachis are here every Sunday from 11 to 1. Friday nights they have live music which we will be attending from 6 PM until, who knows, they close. The red Chilaquiles were absolutely the best and the red chili sauce is homemade and the flavor was the best I've ever had This was a fantastic find for us. Came in on a Friday night with a party of 6. We had reservations and had no problems getting seated right away. There was live music and we really enjoyed it! We ordered the El Madrazo Fries as an appetizer. The dish looks chaotic and is packed with many types of flavors but it all worked together well. We're still talking about how good they tasted! I ordered the Sangria Blanca to drink and Tacos de Pastor as my main dish. Not my favorite sangria but appreciated that it was a large beverage and I was able to share it. We went here to celebrate a birthday. Loved the layout. I was hoping for some mariachis but I didn't know they are only there on Sundays. Drinks start at $18 unless you're drinking beer. I'd stick with beer next time. Drinks are small for $18. The Menu looked amazing. We ended up getting some fundido which was delicious but a little hard to eat due to the cheese being so thick and hard to seperate. Had a kick to it from the chorizo, which was yummy. We got the steak and shrimp dinner and fajitas. Steak was overcooked but ok. Fajitas come with ALOT of meat (not pictured unfortunately). I would definitely recommend the Fajitas. I would like to go for brunch one weekend. Service was great. Friendly staff. Not baby friendly, fyi. Bathrooms don't have changing stations. Still a lot we want to try. We were a bigger party (10) but we came early in the evening and it was not particularly busy. My mother in law got her food last, like everyone was almost done after trying to wait for her last. They told her they would credit her meal, and then showed up with the check with 25% off her meal. Staff didn't really seem apologetic. The drinks are good, but expensive in my opinion. The elite was burnt, and even if it wasn't wanat worth it. The neat overall everyone agrees was fatty. The salsa was good, they have several options. Even the desert was just okay. Fantastic. From the minute we walk through the door the service was friendly and everyone was smiling. Food was very good. Had the chili verde burrito and tacos. It was nice that they allow you to mix the taco flavors to try three different meats. We also loved the complementary chips and salad and they also gave us a delicious ceviche tostada "on the house". Found this place thanks to Yelp and was a little nervous to try since they're so new. I'm glad I tried it, though, because it was very good. Pros 1. Service was friendly, helpful, and kind. 2. The ribeye and bone marrow were both very good, but next time I'll try something more unique. The entree I got ended up being similar to what I can cook at home. Still very good but next time I'll go with something that has a 24 hour marinade or 21 spices. 3. So many things on the menu sounded amazing. 4. The decor was current and nice. Cons 1. Had a great pre-concert dinner at this restaurant with friends! The service is great and the food was awesome. Everything was really tasty and their cocktails were balanced and good too. They have a wide selection of different cocktails and other drinks. The food is very good with a variety of authentic Mexican dishes. I would definitely come back to try their other stuff. We liked the Herb Guacamole and Macha Fundido. The salsa macha packs a punch! I also had the Sopes de Chorizo con Papa and they were delicious. The sopes were homemade and the dish tastes very good with the beans, crema and queso fresco. The chips and salsa were also good and they are free and available to share for the table. Portions are large for the prices which was great! My friends shared the Discada dish and there was plenty of food. We also had someone try the flautas and they really liked those as well. Tacos De Pastor are filled with huge pieces of Al pastor that are cooked to perfection with some char and the classic taste of a good Al pastor. The orange hot sauce on the side is spicy and adds the perfect amount of acidity to the sweet meat. The rice is fluffy , and the side of beans topped with cotija cheese tasted great. The chips and salsa were ok. This was the only opportunity for improvement. The red salsa had a strange after taste, the green salsa tasted good with a hint of lime but it was not spicey enough for me. The staff was very kind and attentive.
