    Molcajete
    Carrie V.

The food was delicious. We started with the guacamole and then had their Molcajete- so good, highly recommend. The margaritas were also really good and we enjoyed the saxophone music for the dinner hour. My only piece of constructive feedback for the owner is to install some dimmer switches on the lights. Ambience is an important part of the dinner experience and some mood lighting would make a big difference- it was a bit too bright for our liking. Other than that, great experience!

Tequila blanco and Michelada with tajin

This is a modern Mexican restaurant with upscale food and beverages. Modern upscale Mexican atmosphere. The service was a team effort with a small language barrier. Size of dishes were big enough to share. My husband had the Michelada which he enjoyed with the tajin on the rim. We split the delicious and original chicharons, the ceviche, and the lobster and crab enchiladas Enough to share and very tasty.

Food was FANTASTIC! So well seasoned and cooked all to perfection. Excellent service- they were offering free shots and free desserts for couples as it was Valentine's Day. Lupita our waitress was so attentive and kind. They decorated inside and outside with balloon hearts and roses everywhere. It was lovely and we can't wait to go back

    Mojarra frita

What a great find today. The mojarra was one of the best I've ever had and the service was great! Thanks for the recommendations, I'll definitely be back.

The best part of the meal was the fries appetizer. I would come back for that but everything else was just okay . My taquitos were pretty dry inside and flavorless . The green sauce on top of them didn't have. Inch flavor either . They had a musician who came in around 5- 6 pm who sounded good . A homey feel and clean but just okay food in my opinion.

    Fajita

I picked up my sister from the airport and thought this would be a good spot to try. We arrived around 8 PM on a Friday, so I was expecting a long wait--but there wasn't one, which was a nice bonus. We were seated right away, and at first, the service seemed good. Unfortunately, after we placed our order, our server wasn't around much. I ordered the fajitas, and the food itself was solid--the meat was flavorful, the shrimp was good, and the rice and beans were tasty. The restaurant was also clean and well-lit, which I appreciated. One downside for me is the digital-only menu. I think they should also offer paper menus, especially since they seem to market themselves as an upscale Mexican restaurant. Would I go back? Maybe--for lunch, yes. But probably not for dinner.

    Sangria Blanca

Came in on a Friday night with a party of 6. We had reservations and had no problems getting seated right away. There was live music and we really enjoyed it! We ordered the El Madrazo Fries as an appetizer. The dish looks chaotic and is packed with many types of flavors but it all worked together well. We're still talking about how good they tasted! I ordered the Sangria Blanca to drink and Tacos de Pastor as my main dish. Not my favorite sangria but appreciated that it was a large beverage and I was able to share it. The Tacos de Pastor were great. The pineapple is the perfect to tie this dish together. Just an FYI - the orange sauce that comes with the dish is very spicy imo so test it out first. Would recommend!

Fundido with chorizo. Nice kick to it.

We went here to celebrate a birthday. Loved the layout. I was hoping for some mariachis but I didn't know they are only there on Sundays. Drinks start at $18 unless you're drinking beer. I'd stick with beer next time. Drinks are small for $18. The Menu looked amazing. We ended up getting some fundido which was delicious but a little hard to eat due to the cheese being so thick and hard to seperate. Had a kick to it from the chorizo, which was yummy. We got the steak and shrimp dinner and fajitas. Steak was overcooked but ok. Fajitas come with ALOT of meat (not pictured unfortunately). I would definitely recommend the Fajitas. I would like to go for brunch one weekend. Service was great. Friendly staff. Not baby friendly, fyi. Bathrooms don't have changing stations. Still a lot we want to try. We'll be back for sure.

Huevos rancheros - huge, plus side of Charro beans
    Kris L.

Nice atmosphere and large portions of great food!. I had huevos rancheros which I could only eat just over half of - three blue corn tortillas smothers with house made salsa, scrambled egg, potatoes and chorizo. Not knowing how large this would be, I had also ordered charro beans which were excellent, plus the chips and two salsas were also filling, love the green salsa.

I'm SO mad! I've missed out on this great place. The food was to die for! My brother suggested this place. I had the white fish and it was the best fish I've had in a long time. The shrimp plate my brother ordered was so amazing O ordered two more to go.

GOOD! inspired by taco bell's baja blast hahahah). they TREATED us to all three of their current desserts on the menu. it was the most pleasant surprise i could've imagined. my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake! it was like a thick, rich brownie, had passion fruit cream to "lighten it up" and a caramel-like taffy on the bottom my brother and sister-in-law both said their favorite was the gulab jamun (which is basically like little fried dough balls/donuts, influenced by indian flavors and spices). the mille-feuille was also fantastic - the pastry was light and airy, cream wasn't too sweet and also very light, shaved cheese on top made it have a savory bite, and the jam alongside it was strawberry rhubarb. service is always amazing, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; it seems like everybody working here truly enjoys it. quite literally already have a reservation booked at valentine and will be coming back here beforehand. update: came back for more drinks (fernet & coke, spaghett western, negroni) and their lamb flauta. all AMAZING! and amazing order to whet the appetite before dinner at valentine.

Regardless, we gave it another shot and we were much happier the next go around. Record players in the corner and a fireplace on the opposite side of this dimly lit bar created a cozy vibe on a chilly Saturday night. We arrived right at opening and the bar filled up quickly but the volume still made it easy to have a conversation and still have an intimate night out. The drinks, this time, well balanced and delicious. My wife had the the Pantera Rosa and I had the Last Word. Both were delicious and not overly sweet. I love a good "Last Word" but the tea added a welcome and subtle layer. A nicely created cocktail without shaming the original. Servers were attentive, constantly filling up water, and making sure we were well taken care of. We will be back!

We had a reservation for 3 on a Friday night and I recommend doing that if going on the weekend. It was pretty full when we arrived at 8:45pm. The bar is not a huge place, there's an area up front with couches, bar seats, and high top tables along the bar. Main takeaways for me-- the cocktails are fantastic and complex. Really well balanced. I also appreciate the service was great, even with a busy bar. I love clarified cocktails and there were 3 options, our server was able to help me decide which one to try based on her descriptions and what I like. The menu is detailed which helps as well. My friend is vegan and she ordered the Living Color cocktail but she didn't notice the taro root cream, only after getting the drink and taking a sip, she realized due to how creamy it is. The bartender had no issue with making her a different drink that doesn't include dairy. But just know I'm not vegan, so down the hatch it went! I liked it as my final drink due to the desert feeling it has-- creamy and almost reminded me of an adult milkshake once melted a bit. During our time there, we ordered a couple drinks each, no snacks this time, we had already eaten dinner. Drinks we enjoyed: living color, passion project, quiet luxury, twig & berries, climate control, and a beer & shot. If you like to imbibe at a bar that isn't gimmicky, just great flavor profiles and spirit forward drinks come here. I'll definitely be back.

I am a huge fan of their clarified cocktails, and the elote-inspired one (featuring corn whisky, creme fraiche, and a the kick of green chiles) was a blast. There's plenty to explore, and you should really indulge in the espresso martini shots. I do wish they worked a bit on the interior design, as the space has lost some of its charm. I also wish they had a little pizazz in how the cocktails are presented, as that's part of the fun in a classy libation. But overall, you should really consider spending some time here if you want to have fun while avoiding downtown crowds.
