Super fun interior. Great service. Very good lunch. I had excellent shrimp tacos. My friend's Burrito bowl looked delish. Only negative was the jalapeño coleslaw. Needs mayo or moisture was only chopped slaw.

    Tropic heat margarita

First time in and cannot wait to come back in! The tropic heat marg was perfect blend of spice and pineapple, pretty sure it's the best spicy marg I've had! We started with the chips and salsa and enjoyed the texture of the salsa. It wasn't too chunky and had a great salt level! The chips were salted nicely and tasted fresh. I got the vampire tacos which had a ton of flavor from the marinade/seasoning on the meat and the consume was a great addition. I appreciated the quantity of meat on each taco as well. My hubs got the Tijuana burrito and he loved it! She enjoyed the cook on the carne and the ratio of meat to cheese to beans. The cheese sauce on top was absolutely delish too! I wish I got a side for my tacos lol We both appreciated our special requested being fulfilled as well, always a bonus when you don't have to worry about that It was a slow Sunday afternoon but the service was nice from the hostess to our server. I would also say the price of our lunch with a drink was worth it in quality quantity, and service. Can't wait to come back :)

Vegan option!!!! Sort of Visiting from Cali Medium loud music Loud atmosphere though voices kind of echo. The decor is completely day of the dead. Chips and salsa are not free. Our server was very nice. He recommended a cocktail. Prickly pear blended margarita..... It's purple love it. Delicious This was my second bowl the first one the rice was hard every other bite. Guacamole taste tangy in my bowl. This time someone forgot to add the onions and the bell peppers that come with the bowl. How do you forget part of the food/bowl. It was just OK My sister got the chicken enchiladas. She said it was good. Our waiter Anthony saved my day he took my bowl off the bill. The 5 stars are for him. Thank you Anthony

    Guacamole with pomegranate seeds

I arrived at happy hour which had good prices on tacos and appetizers. I ordered the guacamole which came sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, a nice touch and had good chunks of avocado; ceviche - quite good, plus chicken tacos - good but not spectacular hence the 4 star. I didn't realize that the ceviche also came with a huge portion of freshly fried chips so I had a double dose of chips from the guacamole and ended up taking a huge box of chips home, surprisingly they still tasted fresh even 3 days later.

Thursday Happy Hour visit. My party was seated right away. The food was good. The flavored frozen margarita was also enjoyable. The service was fine. The wait time to receive our order was not long at all. The restaurant was nearly full but it was not too loud.

    Beef birria bowl
    Rebekah D.

Team lunch was from here and it was delicious. We had it to go so I'm not sure how service was, but I'll assume it was fine. The queso was surprisingly good and I'm not a huge fan of queso. Chips were pretty standard, not super thin, so you could load them up with queso and guacamole. The guacamole had pomegranate, lime and onions and it's the first time I think I've had pomegranate with my guacamole and I actually liked it like that. Might have to make it myself like that too. I had the beef birria bowl. The beef in mine was a little on the fatty side, but the flavor was delicious. It wasn't too salty, I would've preferred a bit more spice to it, but I didn't have any hot sauce with me, otherwise I probably would have added a little Valentina to it (with the black label, iykyk) bc I like my ancho Chile sauce with a bigger kick Anyway, it was hearty portion, the rice wasn't mushy and the beans were pretty decent. 8/10. I want to go back, and actually eat inside there for the full experience with some libations. Yassss.

Carne Asada burrito bowl, with no cheese. Some of the rice was crispy, but other than that, the bowl was really good.

The food was delicious . I had the Carne Asada burrito bowl, it was good, except for some of the rice was crispy. But the flavor was on point. Great service and ambiance.

We just had drinks and chips/salads which were both pretty good. Service was also good. The vibe needs some help though. Way too bright at the bar. Some mood lighting would step this place up a notch. Feels kind of cold. It's nice there a patio too. I'd pop in again for a drink if I was in the area.

    The Vampire Quesadilla

The food was really good! The vampiro quesadillas were the best thing I've had here. It was filling and the consommé was sooo tasty. I was very happy with my food and although I didn't finish, the leftovers would make a perfect lunch the following day. We sat on the patio, our server was super nice and even accommodated an off menu item for us , cheese crisps. The inside was super chilly so sitting on the patio was a must. Although we were not affected, the patio misters came on and the entire patio ran out of there. It was actually pretty funny. We went in the evening , and it was not hot out so I would have ran away too had that been us. Everyone enjoyed the food. The queso dip was mid. We won't order that again, it was watery and lukewarm at best. We are used to hot thick and creamy queso. It didn't affect our meal at all, just won't get it again is all. Forgot to mention my drink! I can't recall the name but it was delicious! I think it was a blood orange something. Really delicious !

Came into Salt on a Tuesday and loved that they had some solid specials going on. The tacos were really tasty, definitely hit the spot. They do charge $2.50 for chips and salsa, which feels like it should come with the meal, but it's not a dealbreaker. The skinny margarita was just okay; not bad, but nothing to write home about. The bar itself is fun, and the outdoor area is a great spot to hang out. Overall, a good spot for a casual night out.

Prices are high and service is slow in busy hours but food is good and cocktails are great. It's a nice place for a date night. Outdoor seating in the open is nice for a more quiet environment. Staff is always friendly.

    Chicken plate!

Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did! The place was decorated cute and trendy. The server was friendly and helpful in offering ideas on the menu. We ordered the prickly pear margaritas and they were sooooo good and refreshing. For appetizers we ordered the elotes dip, and it was so flavorful and creamy I nearly finished it by myself. It also looked pretty too! ordered the taquitos, we got 2 shredded beef and 2 shredded chicken they were also very delicious. My husband ordered a chicken entree, which I cannot remember the name of but did happen to snap a pic, he said it was very juicy and also full of flavor. We went early afternoon on a weekday so there was only a handful of people dining, but I can imagine it picking up on a weekend? I saw they have a brunch menu and am interested in checking that out!

Every time I come here it gets more packed, which is both annoying and completely understandable because the food is ridiculously good. The tacos are fantastic, the fries are life-changing, and the hongos fries specifically deserve their own national holiday. This place made the Top 100 food spots in America list, and honestly? Deserved. It's the best taco spot in the country in my opinion and makes places like Torchy's feel like they're competing in junior varsity. The vibe is also way above average for a taco joint; lively, clean, and full of people who look like they just took their first bite and immediately started planning their next visit. The taco crew is always friendly too, even while dealing with lines longer than a DMV on a Monday. If you don't know what to order, here's the move: Get one taco or an especial if you're a cheese enthusiast, a medium fry with your topping of choice, and guac with chips. That's the kind of meal that makes you sit in your car afterward thinking about your life choices in a positive way. Enjoy. And maybe stretch beforehand because you're going to want to fight someone over the last hongos fry.

We went right when it opened on a Saturday. It was super busy! There was almost no where to park! Inside was spacious and we found a seat easily for the 4 of us. You walk up to order (like chipotle) and then take your food to your seat. The line was almost out the door but moved relatively quickly. I tried all the salsas and the orange one was my favorite. None of them are very spicy, in my opinion-they do have some heat but nothing that will blow your pallet out. My 18 month old had the red one and liked it, if that tells you anything. The pastor is what I ate, the gringa and the taco. Both were exceptional. The meat was super flavorful and all of the toppings contributed to the flavor. The gringa-with the cheese was very greasy, so be ware. Not sure if it really needed that, the taco version is perfect to me. Chips come with a big thing of the red salsa and that was good to have. Lots of families were there. They don't have high hairs just fyi.

The tacos are good but they're not what I was expecting. This is more of a fast food style taco. The whole restaurant reminds me of Rubios. The only things we didn't like were the chips and the rice and beans were not good at all, not even Mexican. But like I said the food is good with nice flavors but for a $5 taco I expected plates and table service. No one wants to stand up to order a marg and then order another one after, they'll prob just order 1 marg and go somewhere else when they're done eating, it's not smart. It's not relaxing to eat here after work. We were all fighting for the tables and it's not a vibe. Not enough inside seats and tons of outdoor seats. I'd totally tell the owner to close up the register area, expand the kitchen, and get the girls to be servers. No one wants to pay full price ceviche and tacos to a restaurant with no table service. The vibe doesn't match the price so I think you should change the vibe to be high end and step up service to match the prices of food. Or match the vibe to a fast food all the way and change some prices. The food is fast so they can easily do a drive thru or walk up and order window. Should be $3 for veggie, $4 for regular taco $5 for loaded or special tacos with expensive The guac matches the vibes! Sold in plastic cups. And $6.50 $4 on happy hour. That explains the vibes of the restaurant perfectly.

Out of all the restaurants I had before leaving Arizona, THIS ended up being one of the places I couldn't stop thinking about after I moved away. Ever since leaving, I've randomly craved these tacos constantly. I've tried other taco spots in Denver hoping something would compare, but honestly nothing really hit the same. So when I came back out to Phoenix recently to visit some friends, this was one of the first places I knew I needed to come back to because I had built it up so much in my head over time. And somehow... it was just as good again. The meat tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned, and you can literally watch them prepare everything right in front of you, which makes the whole experience even better. There's something so satisfying about seeing the tacos being made fresh instead of food just appearing from the kitchen. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The servers were also super friendly and welcoming both times I came here, which honestly makes such a difference. Everyone had great energy, the service was quick, and the whole place just feels inviting and authentic. I honestly think the fact that I remembered this place so vividly for so long says everything.
