We learned that our neighbors across the desert, Chateau Luxe, opened a speak easy on their premises. I love a good cocktail in a cozy speakeasy environment and this one is right in my neighborhood so we checked it out with a few friends and we may have found our new favorite hang out! The cocktail menu is very cleverly designed and they have a drink options for all! Our server took the time to explain how best to read the extensive menu and was helpful throughout the night. We ordered several drinks among the 6 of us and all were super good. There are special touches that accompany many of the drinks which makes for a very fun experience. The bar is pretty big, so not cozy but still had a cool vibe. They do have a hidden, over sized booth that could probably fit 10 people. We will definitely ask to sit there next time.

What a gem. Tucked away in the high desert. This place brings back the speakeasy vibe. They have live music, a pianist and a singer, and they all play the part so well she floats around the floor space singing to you and makes you blush. The drinks were phenomenal and well thought out and the presentation was A1 the bartenders describe to you in detail the flavoring of the drinks From the smoky fire wood world drink to the Kyoto drink made with rice tincture, and fish sauce. The staff is dressed appropriately. The bar snacks came out very fast very enjoyable evening for me. I highly recommend this.

We've visited Century Grand, 36 Below, The Madam, Little Rituals, among a few others. While we enjoyed each in the own right, Wander, in our opinion, sets a new bar (no pun intended). The atmosphere, cocktails, and eats were far above par. Our host and server (London) created a wonderfully memorable experience. We plan to visit again. You'll want to also.

The settings within it are so varied and fun to hang out in and explore, and many of our guests came to tell us how gorgeous it was. Moving on from looks, Boojum Tree also has fantastic package deals, which made planning for the wedding so much less stressful from out of state. To have a set of great vendors already included (bar, catering, DJ, and day-of-coordinator), as well as decorations, silverware, linens, chairs, ceremony equipment, etc etc was the best thing and really helped us be present and enjoy our wedding. Our day-of-coordinator, Jennifer, was also incredible! She took great care of us, staying organized, moving around flowers and decorations, ensuring our wedding favors were at each table, coordinating with our other vendors, helping with an emergency dress bustling, keeping us on time, and hundreds of other things that we did not see behind the scenes. She clearly works hard and is amazing at what she does. This was the perfect venue for the best day of our lives and booking with Boojum was the single best decision we made. We cannot sing their praises enough and could not have had the wedding we did without them. We are so thankful to the team that made it happen!

There was a bite or two of mashed potatoes, and some guests said they didn't even get mashed potatoes on their plate. There were literally 2 pieces of carrots the size of crayons, and one, yes just one, Brussel sprout cut in half. The family Reserved table, and I'm sure other tables, did not get the bread basket. We asked for some and our server said she'd bring some, and she never came back. I later found out from my friend and guest at the wedding, that the they were tipping servers $20 to bring them extra food, and they had plenty to eat. While all other guests did not have enough to eat. Their appetizers ran out before half the guests arrived and they never brought more out. They promised 4 pieces of their measly appetizers per guest and their wasn't even two pieces, mind you these were bite size pieces. Very embarrassing and unacceptable. We were promised the patio would be open with cocktail tables set out for guests to enjoy. It never happened! Curtains were closed, patio was dark, and promises broken. Our vegetarian guests were treated horribly as well and were served a couple pieces of cauliflower for dinner. Has anyone ever heard of such cheapness and embarrassing thing to serve your guests? While charging $170/person??? The bridal party head table was never served cake. I wad told by my friend and guest at wedding, who was sitting by the table where the cake was, that the servers brought a trash can and threw all the cake pieces in the trash. I was so upset and angry to hear this. This was our cake and we paid for it. How dare them throw it away and not offer guests to take it? They should have wrapped each extra piece and set it out for guests to take. The servers were horrible, rude, crooked, and accepting tips from a few guests, while mistreating others. This venue is very expensive but the disappointments are endless and I would NOT recommend this to my worst enemy. They ruined my son's wedding and we had 450 guests, and heard endless complaints from many of them. Shame on the owners for providing such horrible service and not following through as promised at the Tasting. It's shameful and down right horrible that they charged over $80,000 and provided such horrible, insufficient food and service! I called 4 times to let them know our experience, and each time I was told the "CEO" would call me back, and he never did. What an unprofessional and horrible way to treat guests who just had their wedding at your dishonest, money-hungry, lying, cheating business. There are many other complaints we've heard but these are the most embarrassing and every one is a fact without any exaggerations. Shame on this business and I hope they fix their dishonest ways and not treat other guests in this horrible, embarrassing way. Many of our guests left early and went to get food as they were all hungry. Very sad and shameful!!!

This past weekend, I attended an event at the Chateau Luxe Event Venue for the first time, and I…read morewas certainly impressed by the venue as well as how the venue helped make the event itself so memorable. The Chateau Luxe is an award-winning venue in North Phoenix often used for weddings and other special events. The event I attended was an annual fundraiser for an organization important to me, and it provided the organization with the opportunity to increase the number of attendees from just over 300 people to nearly 500 people. From the moment my wife and I arrived and used the valet, we were impressed how smooth of a process it was to leave our car and later pick it up. We were prepared for a very long wait at the valet like it had been at events where we really had no choice but to use valet, though we were even more impressed when no one had to wait for very long as there were so many people working and cars were arriving as quickly as the valet cards were given. This small touch made a huge difference. When we walked into the venue itself, there were tables set up along a large entrance area allowing us to check in before walking into a very large open area, where a bar was set up right in the middle with high tables, seating, or just open areas to stand and talk and catch up with new and old friends and colleagues alike. From that area, we moved into a large ballroom with a stage after our cocktail hour ended. The ballroom was set up with more than fifty tables, and the dinner was a plated meal. Compared to other venues we have used, it certainly felt more spacious and not crowded at all. Anyone interested in hosting an event at this wonderful venue can find more information at https://chateauluxeaz.com. They have over 50,000 square feet of versatile indoor event space and over 35,000 square feet of outdoor event space. To be honest, we barely saw the outdoor space as the entire event was held indoors. But now, when I hear of an event being hosted there, I will certainly consider jumping at the opportunity.

Attending a vendor conference in the Phoenix-area, the last night of the conference was a private party on the Desert Foothills grounds. While Phoenix was suffering through an unseasonably cold winter, the amenities of Desert Foothills didn't dampen anyone's spirits in the slightest. From the retro, ranch-like "Welcome" sign, to the warm and welcoming firepits and patio heaters spread generously throughout the grounds, the venue had everything you could ask for in an open air space. Burros wearing cooler saddles entertained--and refreshed--the attendees, and clever miniature buckets containing everything you needed to make s'mores were nice touches. If you did get too cold, the barn area was very warm and toasty, with an impressive light display and plenty of room for dining, mingling, and a live musical performance (one that, with superior sound and speakers throughout the venue, you could hear clearly no matter where you were). Again, everything was top-notch and I'm jealous of anyone that hosts their event here in the future! In the end, I'm really disappointed that I don't live in the Phoenix area as I would love to host or attend more events here.
