Definitely overrated for the price. The empanadas were okay and everything spilled out of my tacos making a huge mess. The tacos are bland (after I put the filling back in it). I ordered a steak quesadilla for my son but when he opened the box, there was no steak in the quesadilla. We were already home at this point so I called to have the issue rectified. The person who I spoke with issues a store credit that could be used for next time. A week later, I come back to use the store credit hoping for a better experience. I order a plain quesadilla ( didn't want to take my chances on not getting a steak I paid for like the first time) with the standard topping : lettuce, pico di gallo, etc. I attempt to use my store credit and the young lady working the drive through can't find it. I knew something like this would happen so I'm glad I had asked for a copy of the store credit to be texted to me as proof. I show her the picture and she still can't find it. It's clear she doesn't know what to do because she's frozen so I ask for a manager. The manager is able to show the young lady how to look up the store credit and it's applied to my order. I'm happy everything is finally resolved and go home to enjoy my order. Once again, I didn't get what I asked for. No lettuce, no pico di gallo, just a plain cheese quesadilla which is nothing more than melted cheese in between a tortilla. Zero flavor whatsoever which could have been avoided had they given me the lettuce and pico di gallo it's supposed to come with. Save your time and money and go someplace else. read more

Taco Tuesday failure. Brushfire Tacos Y Tapas has been anxiously awaited by many Stetson valley residents for months now. The opening date was pushed back multiple times, but we were excited when they finally opened. Unfortunately our experience last night was our first and most likely our last. We decided on a whim to give it a whirl and had a menu that had been passed out at our local farmers market with all the plates, prices, and options they offer. We studied the menu and had our order ready before we got in the drive thru. There were 5 cars ahead of us and it took forever for each one; we almost backed out and said forget it but someone came up behind us. When we finally got to order we discover that the menu had changed, the prices weren't accurate, and they offer less food for the money. I understand inflation and prices change, but don't hand out a menu with firm pricing a month before you open, it's confusing and disheartening. We ordered a shrimp taco (they honored the expired coupon due to the late opening which was nice), steak burritos (one made into a meal), a horchata drink, and a quesadilla. Our order took a long while to prepare, and while the staff were very friendly they looked frazzled and not properly trained or prepared for all they had to do. Not sure if this is because of staffing issues lately or just poor management. They were working hard, but just not organized enough to make good food or turn over decent service times. We finally got our order but they forgot our drink and the horchata was empty so they had to run in the back and bring one out. We drove off anxious to try our food but sad for the employees who were overwhelmed. Brushfire itself is an attractive drive thru/walk up building that is sleek and modern for fast food. It's clean and appealing to the eye. They have two drive thru lines, but unless they get the service up and running they can barely manage one. Once we got home we dove into our burritos and were very unimpressed. The flavors just weren't there. It wasn't greasy Mexican food but it wasn't healthy either, it was just mediocre. The quesadilla and chips were the same. Very lackluster. The salsas were actually decent which added some spark to the meal, but not enough to make it very good or satisfying. The horchata however was very good as was the shrimp taco, so that's a plus! The quality and price of the food is absolutely not worth it. If you want greasy go to Federico's and if you want healthy head to chipotle, but skip Brushfire. read more

It's way too hot for an outside only seating place in AZ. They must not want you to stay because the 2 fans spin on low and there are no misters. Food wasn't bad. Pretty overpriced in my opinion. I didn't think we had to wait that long at all but happy to have some chips and salsa. We had a pastor bowl, empanadas, steak fries, and birria tacos. Everything was delicious. My only critique is that the birria is on the spicier side and not grilled crispy in the birria juices. Hit the drive thru here a little before noon today. Several cars in front of me, the line didn't move for a few minutes which made me nervous, but once that car moved the rest moved quickly. Gone are the days of measly portions at Chipotle, overpaying to watch a morsel be scooped into a sea of rice. Here, you get what you pay for, at a very attractive price! Guac comes included, because they know what the people want. Delicious tacos, bowls, burritos, quesadillas and more, the selection is wide and has something for every occasion. The only points I will knock is that it comes slower than you might expect. Service can take a little bit, but quality hasn't suffered in my experience. Got threatened at the window to be banned from all locations. I ordered at the front screen at the drive through and at the end she asked for my name. My friend in the car said it louder because she claimed she didn't hear it the first time. I've been to this location two times in the last month. Their tacos are large, generously sized. Their taco Tuesday special is a great deal at two tacos for $6. This location is new and clearly still training staff, but their manager and overall customer service is very friendly and personable. You can tell they are eager to make your experience a positive one. I really like the pork and shrimp tacos personally. My recommendation would be to order online as the drive through wait times can be lengthy, and to check your order before you leave. read more

I have past this place so many times but finally took some time to try it. Ordered the chicken and steak tacos and the birria taco, chips/salsa and an empanada. I don't normally get empanadas because my memory of them are as hard shelled tough calzone kind of dough but these were nothing like my memory. These were hot, super light and airy, Crispy and absolutely delicious! Will definitely be coming back for more of these. The dipping sauce with them was super yummy too. The chicken and steak tacos came with lots of meat but were a bit lukewarm compared to the other items I got. They were decent but nothing to write home about. I much preferred the birria taco. Although they didn't put any birria dipping sauce in my bag (bummer) they were still my favorite of the tacos. Lots of meat, flavorful. Chips were great too. After taking a look at their website, I also love their faith story! This is a new place in the neighborhood, so I thought I would give it a try. I like that they have a drive thru, so I don't even have to get out of my car. I purchased 2 of the steak tacos and 2 of the Al pastor tacos. 2/9.99. The size of each taco is pretty standard and what I would expect. I was really disappointed in the overall flavor of both types of tacos. I felt they lacked basic seasoning and overall flavor in general. The Al Pastor did not have enough of the pineapple that one would come to expect on an Al Pastor. The steak taco was juicy but again lacked basic flavor. I thought the service was fine, it is a new establishment so I expect that things are not going to be a hundred percent. There is an outdoor seating area, but I would not expect many people to be sitting there during the summer months. Overall, the ambiance is fine. In general, I think the flavor could be improved on the tacos. I will go back and try something else off of the menu to give them another chance.
