Food: 4-stars - The only reason for the -1 star is because they do not have any chicken options and their guac is liquidy with zero flavor. Their pickled red onions are also flavorless. Otherwise the carne asada, lengua and tripa tacos were all delicious and generously portioned! They have grilled jalapeños, and a self-serve garnish bar with 4 different types of salsas, pickled red onions, sliced cucumbers, shredded cabbage, diced onions and chopped cilantro, lime, and their liquidy guac. We came back already for their crunchy tripas and will continue to visit for our taco/burrito fixes. Service: 5-stars - Open kitchen behind the service counter allows you to see how they cook their meats over the charcoal grill. Our order came out pretty quick. 10-15 mins max. It's a fast casual spot so open seating, no host/waiters but there are workers that clean the dining area. Ambiance: 4-stars - Nothing special but clean and open dining areas. Multiple TVs for your viewing pleasure along with an outdoor patio area for outdoor dining. Overall 4-stars - I will say, after ordering for takeout last week, the best experience is to dine-in. The tripas were not as crunchy when taking home to eat. However, if you like your tripas crunchy like I do, dine-in and eat fresh is the best. Tacarbon satisfied our taco craving but they also offer cheese crisps, burritos and plates that include tortillas and beans. Pretty good overall, but definitely still room for improvements - especially for the premium price point. Definitely recommend to check out if you haven't already. Overall, we really enjoyed our first time at Tacarbon! Most of the different tacos we tried were juicy, flavorful, and fresh! We ordered one of each, and there were two types of meat that missed the mark for us (meat was tough and dry and didn't enjoy those). FYI: they use styrofoam plates. I know some folks care about that, so I'm calling that out. They have a queue setup toward the middle of the room, and when you're at the front of the line, you walk up the counter to order. It seemed like a really efficient way to give folks a chance to line up, view the menu, and then place their order quickly so they could make their decisions while waiting in line! The prices were very reasonable, too. They also have a self-serve, buffet style counter where you can grab salsas, pico de gallo, onions, cucumbers, etc. We will for sure come back and try more from the menu! read more

Super delicious spot. I came here with my girlfriend she ordered the asada tacos and I got the al pastor and cabeza. Everything was really good but in my opinion the cabeza was the standout. We also had horchata which was great as well. The tacos came out super quickly and the service was solid. I asked for their spiciest salsa since I've got a high tolerance and what was out at the bar wasn't quite enough for me. Been trying the carbon style tacos from a few places in and around Phoenix during my recent trips and my latest was Ta Carbon. The service was really fast and friendly. Super clean and wide open with plenty of space to eat. Love love the salsa bar too. I did try a few different tacos and have to say they were all pretty good, but also think there is a better asada in the area. Al pastor, lengua and huevo (this was a new one for me, so had to try) were all very good. Definitely will visit again, but for asada, I think there is a better spot near by :) read more

Ta' Carbon, closer to home? Yes sir! Decided to come down today to check out the new place. First of all, this place is massive! Tons of seating, nice open vibe. I went with an Alambre plate. Total was just over $10.00. How was it? Bomb! Alambre- Carne asada, bacon, peppers, onions and cheese all mixed together placed on top of 5 tortillas of your choice (I went with flour). Basically this is like a Mexican Philly Cheesesteak plate that you can make tacos with. 5 tacos for 10 bucks pretty much, and these tacos were stuffed with that delicious mix! From out of town and was suggested by local family to check out this place. I guess they just opened this location not that long ago. So glad I came here because the food is delicious. I loved the beans and flour tortillas. I got the "mixto" plate with asada and pastor. Both were good but I loved the pastor meat. I liked how they have multiple salsas and toppings. They also have aguas frescas including jamaica. They serve the food fast since they had a lot of help when I came. The place was super clean and a worker was wiping down tables. It's also great in a burrito, which I also got. 10/10 Campechano-mixed meat tacos, tbh I can't remember what kind, but great flavor, different textures also. Del frijol con queso- beans and cheese. Good flavor, the only thing I didn't like about this was that with my to-go order, they placed it on the bottom and it presses the foil on top and all the fillings stuck to the foil. Maybe they should not leave them as "open" tacos. There's a salsa bar, so you can get containers of salsa and taco toppings. Yassssss. If your Spanish is terrible and you don't want to Google, you may want to order in person as opposed to online as there's not a description of everything in English on the website (at the time I ordered) but they have it on their signs in the restaurant. Omg yay!!!! They finally opened! Our community has been waiting patiently for their doors to open and one day... vuaaala! It appeared!!! My mom and I got tacos so I will rate based on the tacos 1. When I go to Phoenix for work, this is my spot to hit. I have tried the tacos, and last time o got the mixto plate. The beans are tasteless, no flavor. But the meat was good and tender. Tried out this restaurant and right off the bat after I ordered my food I see them start pulling out styrofoam trays to put all of their food on. I wish I would of paid attention to that behind their counters before I ordered. I would have left. In this day and age, haven't we learned about the cancer from these? I know they are probably the cheapest materials to serve your food on. My quesadilla for example had burned through the styrofoam before I ever got to my table. This is a deal breaker for me! If you upgrade to another product like paper, let me know and I will try it again, but it's a NOT RETURNING for me! I'm sure I am not the only one that feels this way! Tacos were so good! I had the taco de tripa, taco de cabeza, and taco de huevo de becerro. All on corn tortillas, but they do have flour options. My favorite taco would have to be tripa. Its okay. Its hit or miss. The beans aren't always the same taste so there's no regulation on a specific recipe its just whoevers making it that day they make it how they want lol. The bean and cheese burritos are about the size of a taco bell bean burrito and then having a 600lb person sit on it and flatten it like a crepe. Not acceptable for the price. The tacos aren't too bad depending what meat you get. They could use a little better customer service skills. If you have anything to say to them they stare blankly at you as if they DGAF, which... they probably dont lol. They have 10 people working up front for some reason standing around talking most of the time, walking around acting like theyre busy lol. Maybe downsize the non working employees and you wouldn't have to charge so much? Just food for thought lol. (The salsas were GREAT) I tried a carne asada taco and a (pork) barbacoa taco on flour tortilla, both of which were soo good. Also would like to note that the prices are extremely reasonable (in my opinion!). Two tacos, a combo plate, a coke, and a beer was $25. The only thing I was missing was a margarita! Ridiculously rude staff. We have been going to the ta carbon in Glendale for such a long time and the staff there is always so pleasant and upbeat. Glendale location is a little far for us so now that this Peoria location opened up we decided to give it a try. BIG MISTAKE. Every single person that was working here was extremely rude. I couldn't believe it. The man who took our order yelled "next" and when we walked up to him he just stared at us. I said hi to him and he was like I'm waiting for you to order. I asked him a few questions and he just nodded yes or no. At first I thought maybe it was a language barrier issue but I'm bilingual and I started to speak to him in Spanish and NOPE. HE WAS STILL UNBELIEVABLY RUDE. The food was OK. The location in Glendale has much better tasting carne asada. Forgot to add, they got our order wrong and forgot to give me the drink we ordered.
