    Rolly pop roll

This place is small but quaint it makes you feel homey. There are 8 tables in the place. But you don't feel like you are on top of each other. The waitress was very nice and made sure we were good with drinks. Now the food well I ordered first the yellow tail sashimi with ponzu and holy moly so good. Next I ordered the baked scallop roll. And this also was so good! The scallops were perfectly cooked and the sauces on it were good. Then I preferred the rolls pop roll. Which was also phenomenal. After we were almost done eating we met May who is the owner. She is awesome. We sat and talked to her for awhile about her experience as a sushi chef and this place finally coming together. I will be back for sure.

This is by far my new favourite sushi restaurant, why? Great prices Superb service Artistic presentation Great food Kay makes you feel like part of her family. Each time we come we've discovered great sushi served with much love. Kay recently took over this restaurant late 2024 and has been slowly developing the business and menu, she's doing a fantastic job at the food, prices and decor. What am amazing experience and by far the cheapest sushi you can find at such high quality.

Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 I'm so happy I stumbled across this place it was such a homey vibe such a cozy place I already knew when I walked in from the smell and the way I was greeted I was already going to like this place. The owner of this restaurant had amazing customer service skills and the chef was phenomenal he delivered the sushi exactly how I asked for. The fish quality was super fresh and very good I didn't leave one thing on the plate. From presentation to the flavors everything was on point. I will definitely be back here to try more things. Great job sushi island.

Came for a quick meal and it was great! It looks unassuming from the outside but the inside is nicely decorated and clean. Small restaurant, maybe 8-9 tables (~30 people). We were the only ones there at 4pm, unsurprisingly. The host/owner(?) was super sweet. I ordered 2 rolls (salmon roll and sunny roll) and they were good! The fish was good quality and tasted fresh. The korean ramen was okay. All of the food was very affordable as well! I think almost all the rolls were $10-15. Would recommend!

    Ambiance

Food, service, and ambiance was excellent. It's under new ownership, and the owner made this place into a dining experience. I HIGHLY recommend coming here. You will not be disappointed.

This place was such a great date night! Small & quaint but not over each other. 1 sushi chef so don't be in a hurry. Rolls were just as good if not better than the higher end sushi in Phx. We'll be back!

When we first walked in at about noon on a Saturday we were surprised to find that the restaurant was completely empty of patrons. We were greeted by a friendly server and immediately seated. I wasn't long before people started to arrive and it quickly got busy. We first noticed that the sushi rolls were listed alphabetically which was a nice change so I could easy spot my favorites. Next we noticed how low their prices were. We selected 3 rolls and edamame. I ordered my typical Philadelphia Roll but was surprised to see that they add salmon on the top. It was scrumptious. The fish was very fresh and we enjoyed the rolls. The Wasabi wasn't spicy at all but hopefully it was just that day. We will definitely be returning.

The ambience is familiar like a family/ friend runs the restaurant & the server / sushi Chef were super kind & welcoming. I'll definitely be back - thank you for dinner! The food was delicious!

Food was amazing!! We loved the California crunch roll and the cream cheese California roll. The garlic edamame was delicious!! The server was beyond sweet and very attentive. The restaurant is cozy and very clean. Prices are decent. We paid $48 for everything pictured. 10/10 we will definitely be returning.

Came here on a late Friday night. Only a few other groups so we were seated right away. Nice place with a clean look and feel. Menu had a good amount of choices and our waitress was quick on taking our order. Our orders came out pretty quick and everything looked and tasted great. Sushi was presented nicely and tasted refreshingly delicious. Didn't expect to have such a nice meal at a "hole in the wall" located in a strip mall lol. Great bang for you buck!

What a great sushi experience. The fish was absolutely amazing. The fried rice, yes.. fried rice, was fantastic. Hidden gem.

Absolutely the best sushi I have ever had. My experience here was phenomenal, from the atmosphere to the hospitality, and the food was just amazing! Coming in was nice because no one was there and we got to know the owner Kay a little more. She is the most sweetest & funniest person! You can tell she is very passionate about what she presents in her kitchen. We started off with two appetizers, miso soup and spicy garlic edamame. The miso soup had the nice hint of fish flavor but the flavor of the miso was so good and the small bits of tofu and green onion was a nice touch. The spicy garlic edamame had really good flavor and the spiciness was spot on! I can only say it may need a bit of less salt but overall it was really good! Now to the sushi! We ordered the spicy salmon roll, tuna & salmon nigiri, and the bonsai roll. I cannot express the level of freshness that was presented in each dish. The salmon roll took me by surprise. I was shocked on how flavorful this roll was. It had a beautiful Smokey salmon flavor that had that fresh salmon texture that melts in your mouth. I usually eat sushi with eel sauce but this was the first time I didn't want to eat sushi without any side sauce. It was amazing on its own. The tuna & salmon nigiri was amazing for my husband. He was impressed with the presentation of each roll and noticed how finely cut each one was displayed. The small details that the chef made, you can tell how experienced he is in his craft. The bonsai roll was..... left me speechless. One of the best rolls I have ever had. I have tried many sushi rolls in my life but this specific roll. It's a must try is all I can say. My taste buds went off the charts for this roll. For an entree, I decided to go with the salmon teriyaki. The presentation and the crisp of the salmon & skin was hands down perfect. I don't usually like salmon skin but this was the first time I ever actually enjoyed it by itself. I honestly have so much good things to say about this place and I'm so happy Kay took the time to express her passion with my husband & I. She gave us a little gift of macaroons to take home. We ate it on the way home and let's just say Kay will probably get a call from my husband for a box of macaroons! Overall I'm so happy we decided to come here. I enjoyed every bite of every dish I had and left with such a memorable experience for my husband & I. We will be back very soon to enjoy more items on the menu. Thank you again Kay for sharing your creativity with us and for caring about the food you bring to each table.

Wow! So so so good. I stumbled across this place when I was in the area. I was the only one there, customer service was great and so are the prices. I hit the Vegas and hot and mild rolls. They are both fresh and delicious. I def will be back to try other things!

The first thing that stood out was the beautiful interior design. The space feels modern, stylish, and inviting, making it perfect for a date night or even a solo dining experience. The aesthetic bar area creates a great atmosphere, and while we chose to sit inside, they also have a lovely covered patio for those who prefer outdoor seating. The food and customer service were both excellent. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and every dish we ordered was enjoyable. We started with the Heart Attack, garlic edamame, and shrimp tempura appetizers. The garlic edamame was especially memorable--I loved the addition of sesame oil, which added so much flavor and made it stand out from the typical version. To drink, we ordered green tea and a Sapporo on draft. The Sapporo was light, crisp, and airy--definitely something I would order again. For our main dishes, we enjoyed the Sensei Roll, the Screaming "O" Roll, and a nigiri plate from the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious, but the Screaming "O" Roll was the clear highlight of the meal and a must-order in my opinion. Between the beautiful ambiance, attentive service, generous portions, and flavorful food, Haru Sushi delivered a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

Some of their specialty rolls are $50/roll!!! I repeat- FiIFTY American dollars per roll. I don't know that I've seen prices that high even in Scottsdale or Las Vegas. There's no reason that this casual sushi spot should be charging like they're off the coast of Japan in an elite cliffside restaurant. The food is very good, but it's not "I need to finance this meal", $50/roll good. Also.. I asked for the WiFi password (literally titled "Haru Sushi Guest") so I could work on my laptop if needed, just to be told they were not allowed to give out their WiFi password out to anyone (even the staff aren't allowed to use it). Kind of silly to be gatekeeping something as simple as WiFi in the year 2026. I would have loved to make this my new working lunch spot, but between the egregiously high prices and the WiFi witness protection program, I'll be skipping it next time.

It's a good mid-tier sushi restaurant and, of course, has the novelty of the revolving sushi belt. If you're looking for a high end experience, this may not be your place. But, if looking for value, Kiku is a good choice. Note: 1) Ika (my personal favorite) is listed both on their website before you come in and even on their printed menu once you are seated in the restaurant, but be aware they do not have any and 2) be extra careful when communicating your order as the waitstaff will make assumptions on your behalf. For example, I asked if they have salmon roe to which the waitstaff said "yes", but when they brought my order to our table they had substituted salmon nigiri in its place offering no explanation nor telling me what to expect, just leaving me to discover it after taking the plastic cover off the plate.

I know there are mixed reviews about the sushi, and unfortunately my experience leaned toward the negative. The sushi did not seem fresh and was sitting at room temperature. You could tell some of the rolls, especially ones with sauce, had likely gone around the belt multiple times since the sauce had started to soak into them. That said, the flavors were actually good and the fish itself did not taste bad. I have been to other rotating sushi spots where items circle more than once but still taste fresh, so this stood out to me. The restaurant itself seemed clean and I did not have any issues there.
