Beef Yakisoba
Cortney B.

Stopped in for dinner after seeing the new Mortal Kombat movie (10/10 recommend) I've always wanted to try this spot and luckily my date was willing to try it out with me! Our server Dillian was amazing, he let us know about their night time happy hour menu and special recommendations. I got the beef kimchi yakisoba, and it was DELICIOUS! Would absolutely come back and can't wait to try more food on the menu!

Had dinner before the Bruno Mars concert across the street. Thankfully we made reservations and they were able to hold it with a 15-minute grace period as we had a lot of traffic to go thru. We made it to our 6pm reservation and were seated within a minute or 2. I heard a walk-in probably had to wait 30-40 minutes. The place was packed as it's in an outdoor shopping area with lots of restaurants & shops and probably other concert goers were there too. We were seated at a booth and it was definitely bustling. Our server, Audrey helped us and we took a few minutes to decide. I was only in the mood for Miso Soup, Green Salad with a Ginger dressing and hot, white rice. My cousins ordered the Sushi Moriawase, Sesame Chicken and Chirashi "Kaisen Don" type of bowls We also had an order of Jumbo Scallops with Mushrooms and hot, Green Tea for the table. We placed our orders & they came shortly thereafter. We had to ask for utensils and napkins as they weren't provided once we were seated. A couple of times my cousin had to ask for hotter tea as it was warm and I ended up asking for hot water on the side. My cousin liked her sushi platter and I liked my comfort food, esp. the refreshing salad! I would order that again! My other cousins ate their bowls but one mentioned to me later on that she felt a little sick when we got to the concert. I was wondering why she was a little quiet! She thinks the fish wasn't that fresh. We paid our bills on the hand-held device and left. Seems more like a Japanese restaurant more for the modern, upbeat ambiance than for quality and service. Perhaps they need more attention to detail on what's being served and when setting up tables for service.

I recently went here for my engagement dinner for the first time! We weee excited to try because sushi is a special meal for us.. The manager / host was so friendly in the way he greeted us. We appreciated his positive presence. It took us a while to wait for our server Anthony. Although nice he did go missing a few times to we had to ask another server for water and ask the food runner for more food items because he kept going back and forth... not sure what happened there We will be back! Food was yummy!

Garlic asparagus salmon roll
Elsie M.

A friend and I were recently in the area for a concert and decided to grab an early dinner here before the show. After looking over the menu, I ordered the garlic asparagus salmon roll and the unagi bowl. My friend ordered her own sushi and main entrée. The garlic asparagus salmon roll was the better of the two. The roll was nicely balanced with a light amount of crunch to it. In one or two roll pieces, the asparagus was a bit tough. The unagi bowl was decent, it was a nice surprise to have more items in the bowl than the usual unagi don you see at some other places here. We came around 4 p.m. and were able to be seated right away. Unfortunately, service was a bit slow and unorganized. Our server took a long time to take our order, and we were never given ginger or wasabi or a cup for our soy sauce to go with the sushi we ordered. Additionally, our entrees did not come out around the same time. My friend's sushi roll and main entrée came out way before mine did and by the time mine came out, she was already done with her meal. You can tell the restaurant has been around for a while from the wear and tear of their interior. I would say skip the hot entrees and stick to the sushi. The sushi was of better quality, which was decent. If you're in the area for an event, and looking to grab a meal, this place fulfills its purpose well. I would just recommend coming a little earlier to make sure you get to the event on time.

Our first time at this restaurant and we took a seat at the sushi bar. We had a first hand view of the sushi rolls as they were made as they were picked up by the servers right in front of us. They have a regular happy hour and reverse happy with excellent discounts. We ordered only from the happy hour menu and they did not disappoint. We will definitely be back!

This was my first time trying this place I had heard some good things about it. The ambience was nice. The service was horrible. We had to ask for our server to be replaced because she had a horrible attitude ( Kelly ) which they quickly did. The young man and the lady that took over the table were great. The food and appetizers came out pretty fast and the food turned out to be very good. I would definitely try another location because the scallops were very good. Calamari Rings
Farrah B.

Best late night sushi happy hour menu! Deals for drinks, apps and even speciality roles. You name it. The bar staff were friendly and fun. They offered some suggestions to help with my indecisive nature because I just want to order one of everything. The calamari was cooked perfect so it wasn't chewy and the sauce that comes with it adds a little razzle dazzle if you're in the mood. Feel free to eat them just as they come because they are delicious. The shrimp tempura roll did not disappoint and also had crab with avocado that are some of my faves to order. I washed everything down with a Kirin and hot sake again all on the happy hour menu as well. I will be back for some late night adventures when I'm craving good sushi for half the cost.

We arrived soon after the restaurant opened for the day. There was a short 15 minute wait. We were seated and our drink order was taken right away. Once the drinks arrived, our food order was taken. Half of the order arrived quickly. The other half sat on the bar until we told the server that it had been sitting there for a while. The sashimi was frozen in the middle. The bathroom here is crazy. You get dizzy the moment you walk in. Several children were crying because of the confusion of the mismatched lines. One child was getting motion sickness because of the lines. It was awful! If you visit, try to avoid the bathroom. I had to close my eyes in order to get in and out.

Ellie N.

Quite pricey for the quality of the sushi. The unagi is way too sweet and the salmon eggs are super salty. We came in on Friday evening and the wait wasn't bad. They said 20 minutes but the table was ready in 10

Chicken & beef teriyaki combo - 7/10
Christy C.

One of my favorite Asian spots in Arizona! It is located on the second floor of the Westgate Entertainment District. Parking can be slightly difficult especially on the weekends since it's shared with many other restaurants but the parking lot is really big! Service is ok, wish it was more attentive and friendly The menu offers a variety of rolls, sashimi, nigiri (whether you like it cooked or raw!) They also have meat dishes, ramen, and combination plates (perfect if you want some beef/chicken and some sushi!) I usually get the beef and chicken teriyaki combo and it comes with veggie tempuras, 3 pieces of California roll, and a salad for $21.45! I would say it's 7/10 The beef teriyaki is soometimes too chewy and not tender enough and the chicken is usually a little too dry and rough. The sauce used is a tad sweet and salty and tastes pretty good. The salad is your typical garden salad and the greens are usually pretty fresh. The California rolls are your standard rolls and nothing too special. The tempura is perfectly fried and super crispy without being too oily or greasy. Would totally recommend and return especially since there aren't that many good Asian spots to choose or go to in Glendale, AZ!

We visited Kabuki Japanese Restaurant during happy hour. I had the Sake Sangria and Hubby had the Sapporo Draft beer. There were numerous food selections available during happy hour. We share the Sunkissed Roll, Yellowtail Roll, Salmon Roll, Yellowtail Sushi, Salmon Sushi, Mixed Tempura, and Eel Sashimi. Everything tasted fresh and we had just enough food. Highly recommend their happy hour, which runs daily until 6 pm.

Sushi Moriawase
Heidi A.

My friend who is also Japanese recommended this place for sushi in the west valley so I gave it a try with takeout. I loved that they had different sushi for each of the moriawase. Some non-Japanese owned Japanese places would just use the basic assortment of fish maybe a few times and call it a special or moriawase. I was very happy about this. I also was very happy that they had scallops. They were so good! Can't comment on the service or ambiance.

Everyone else chooses the barstools and hightop tables or the patio. We were only outside once, when my ankle was broken and it was tough to get around. But, I digress. Maybe the cozying adds to the delight of our foodie experience at Sip. We don't drink but they make a lovely Shirley Temple that compliments all that chef-made goodness. Her menu is always shifting and we love the creativity. One of the mainstays, though, is the meatball appetizer. The beef is tender and flavorful and the homemade marinara as complimented by a perfect cheese pull. We'll get that and one other item - a charcuterie board, bread and/or veggies and a dip, or some other interesting app. Sometimes we get a salad, but order dressing on the side because we like it light. As lovely as Sip is, I don't know if people are impractical or enamored enough to drive a half hour up a mountain to enjoy that tiny establishment. So, it feels like a happy place to be around locals. Estrella is growing but not so much that we've ever felt crowded out at Sip. It's homey and warm and a relaxing place to feel at home, on our special couch. Please don't sit at our couch. lol

You can taste the quality in each ingredient and I appreciate that. My husband and I agreed that the Spanish octopus was our favorite dish. It was the best octopus I've had in a while, the char flavor and slight crisp was amazing. We enjoyed the creamy sauce, artichokes, and other veggies that came with this dish. The cauliflower and golden beets were incredible too. The chef told us that the Japanese sweet potato was one of the popular dishes, but out of everything we ordered, it was surprisingly my least favorite. It was still good but everything else tasted better to me. Pa'La is a bit pricey but the quality makes up for it. I would recommend this place for people who are visiting or for a date night!

Excellent service, a Christmas tree upstairs, and no reservations required. Glad they were able to seat us considering we showed up without reservations. Downstairs gets quickly reserved so seats upstairs are where they push overflow patrons. Right outside Flint's doors downstairs there is a staircase which opens up to the upstairs dining area. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!

I really enjoy the ambiance and service there, but learned quickly that with larger groups the Peoria location is best for us. One of my kids graduated from college last week and he wanted to celebrate. All he wanted was to have sushi and to celebrate with our relatives who came from out of state. We didn't know if it'd be doable since we were on the other side of the valley. We called, gave them our party size (12) and eta. Low and behold, they were able to get us a reservation. We get on the road to make it to our reservation 0745-0800, they close at 1000pm worse case scenario we get there by 0800 and we still have a good amount of time for the AYCE 90 minute experience. We get there and they have a sign out for the AYCE, last call 0830pm. We go inquire about the last call and our reservation being at 0745. They reassure us that we would still get the full 90 minute experience. At about 0800pm they tell us our table they thought would be available is not available, they say individual parties instead. A guy comes out and tells us that the time frame they gave us was an estimated time, we let him know that was not what were told, but we also got a text confirmation. He tells us, well the Weather is nice. We can accommodate you outside. We agreed. They got the tables all settled and we're about to sit down. The same older man tells us, that the last call is 0830PM, ummm what? They tell us well we can try and get everything in, but the last call is at 0830. You can stay until 0900, what?! I let him know that was not what there hostess had told us, we told him they said we'd still be served and given the 90 Minute experience. He said well I don't know why they told you that, I am going to have to go let them know that is not the case. It's now well past 0800pm and restaurants are closing soon and we are a large party. I was incredibly disappointed at how everything was handled, and how easy it was for the gentleman to just dismiss and shrug his shoulders like oh well. I was incredibly disappointed at how everything was handled, and how easy it was for the gentleman to just dismiss and shrug his shoulders like oh well. What was supposed to be a special celebration for our son's graduation turned into unnecessary stress and disappointment. We made the reservation based on the information their staff provided and planned accordingly, only to be told something completely different once we arrived. Had we been told upfront that they couldn't honor the full AYCE experience or accommodate our party as promised, we would have made other arrangements. After being loyal customers and recommending this place to family and friends, this experience made it clear that customer service and honoring commitments are not a priority. Unfortunately, that was our last visit For reference, when they sent the last text, we were already onsite.
