The music wasn't too loud, it looked very clean. There were not a lot of people here which is too bad. Its front entrance seems a little hidden but it's shady so if it's super busy you won't be toasting in the sun while waiting outside. There's plenty of parking. They have lunch specials, with ramen and chicken and sushi options. I had the teriyaki chicken, it came with a salad and a bowl of miso soup. The miso soup was better than some places, it didn't taste like it had been sitting "all day", but pretty standard. The salad was decent. I'm not a huge fan of red cabbage but I wasn't going to pick it off either. Basic, but good. Dressing, lettuce & red cabbage. I liked the dressing. It was a savory dressing. I didn't take pics. There was some confusion because I actually ordered the stuffed jalapeño which she said was stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna, and I was debating which I should order. I decided on the stuffed jalapeno and then she brought the stuffed avocado but it was totally fine because I wanted to try that anyway. They had a stuffed avocado. I'm huge avocado fan. Like an "advocado" for it. Yes dumb joke but idc. Anyway, it was half an avocado, fried and filled with crab mix. I think it also had masago. Overall I enjoyed it. If I was making that though, I'd actually have spicy tuna and crab mix, to change up the flavor. It was still good though, I enjoyed it. Definitely would have it again. I had a spicy scallop as well. I didn't order a bunch of sushi because I wanted chicken, but the spicy scallop was very good. 10/10 would eat it again. The teriyaki chicken was nicely cooked. It was juicy, not overly dry or salty. Such a great family owned Sushi Restaurant! Went here with my little family recently and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a pretty small restaurant but it's cute inside, very clean and sleek. We ended up with a few different rolls and some sashimi. Let me tell you... the display of the sushi was next level. They put the sashimi over shaved ice with lemon, edible flowers and fun green garnish. The rolls were on a beautiful wood board garnished with greens and a lobster tail. All of the fish was so fresh and everything was packed with flavor. On top of all of that the service was great. One of the owners (the wife) was our server. Sushi Little is a small sushi restaurant located in Arrowhead in the spot where Ginger Bistro used to be. They do not have wait service. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Soft and hard beverages are available. It is a little hard to order at the counter because you need to read the menu, the specials, sushi menu, and 24 rolls. They do have peach soju but not plain soju so my husband went with a cup of water and we were charged $3.25 for a cup of water. The one thing that was very good was the house smoked salmon. It made me want a bagel and cream cheese. The next best thing we tried was the gyoza. They were maybe on the bland side but good. All the sushi wasn't the freshest so it wasn't enjoyable. Only the smoked salmon seemed good. The salmon kama again wasn't the freshest and was over cooked in the microwave oven. This restaurant shouldn't have an open kitchen because you shouldn't see these things. My husband could see the cook doing our salmon kama in the microwave. I could hear the microwave door. The fat parts of the collar came out boiling from being over cooked. A girl did come over and asked how it was. I told her , "Over cooked." She didn't say a thing back. Also they don't even clear dirty plates. We had a pile of them when the kama came out and they just left them there. I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant. Had salmon sushi and spicy scallops. The salmon was buttery and a decent size. I didn't quite care for the spicy scallops though. I absolutely hate wasabi and the hot sauce just had a kind of wasabi-type flavor to it. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't order it again. The waitress was kind enough to let me know that the scallops used sesame oil after I requested no sesame seeds on anything but she was right when she said I wouldn't taste it. I'm always down to try a new sushi spot. Sometimes my curiosity doesn't pay off. This place is near one of the hospitals I work at so I stopped by after work for a late lunch. It just so happened to be Valentines Day. As I entered the establishment I noticed an off putting smell, sewage backup maybe. Never a good sign in a restaurant but I'm a glutton for punishment apparently. There were only two other couples In the restaurant albeit it being Valentines Day. The tables were uncomfortably crowded together in the otherwise spacious and empty dining area. While I waited for my order I overheard both tables complain about the saltiness of their food or their bill being incorrect. Red flag número dos. The one employee I saw the entire time was the hostess/waitress/checkout person/table cleaner. Red flag número tres not having the sushi chef & bar in plain sight. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She offered me complimentary miso soup which was very simple but decent. She also informed me that appetizers are 1/2 off when you order an alcoholic beverage. I ordered two sushi rolls and sat in the overly heated booth while I sipped my $12 room temperature Chardonnay. Whew!!!! It's hot in here!!! It may be February but it's 73F here in Glendale, AZ. Who blasts a heater here?! Let's talk sushi. My rolls were brought to me in disposable, plastic containers which really irks the planet conscious part of me not to mention it's just not very fun. I want to see the cute Japanese porcelain bowls & serving plates ma'am. Is it just me or does sushi taste better when it's not served in plastic?? The "Puzzle Roll" was less than desirable. Tuna overload! The description says "Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Tuna, Ahi Tuna, Cucumber, Smelt Roe, Japanese Dressing". Essentially, you're getting a whole lot of too thickly cut tuna sashimi, no spicy tuna & I don't know what the "Japanese Dressing" was supposed to be but it wasn't there. I ate two pieces and couldn't continue. The cuts of Ahi where way too thick and overwhelmed the roll by being both inside & out of the roll. My second roll, the "Cactus Roll" was slightly better but my appetite had left me. At this point I was over heated, underwhelmed and nauseated by the sewage smell permeating around me. Final thoughts? Skip this one and save yourself the money. read more
