Bulgogi egg fried rice
Mark C.

I ordered a spicy garlic albacore and a bulgogi egg fried rice for pick up. The first thing I liked was that my food was ready since I arrived at the time I said I would arrive. The place is clean, small, and intimate. I like their free chocolate snacks that come with their meals. This cost me $33.06. The sushi itself was above average. The fried rice was also pretty good, but quite heavy and oily. Overall, an above average experience.

Great service!!! Good food!! And clean comfortable location. It's a sushi gem. Also no issue with service dogs. Always an extra plus when people are welcoming with my dog; as a regular customer.

3rd time here already. I can't get enough of this place. We drive up from Verrado (Buckeye) area every time to come up here whenever we crave good, quality sushi. It's well worth the trip. Outstanding service, consistent quality, and maximum value! Highly recommend!

Menu for Sully's

Our new sushi place! We went to Sully's (formerly Sushi Island) for dinner on a Friday night. We were seated immediately. My husband ordered the Beef Bowl and I ordered the small sushi combo with a salmon roll. We got 2 miso soups and gyoza to share. The miso was delicious and flavorful! The gyoza was crispy and the dipping sauce was fresh and zesty tasting. My husband loved his bulgogi beef rice bowl with salad and my combo nigiri was so fresh and the fish was very flavorful. The rice had a nice level of seasoning as well. Our server was very attentive and polite. She was helpful with any questions we had about the menu. The atmosphere was casual, very clean, and modern inside. There were several small families with children, couples, and small groups. The restaurant is small, so I would not suggest a big group without calling ahead to make arrangements. 10/10 we will be returning here regularly.

Sully's is truly a "Hole in the wall" type place with maybe only enough seating for 30 people but it has some of the best sushi I have ever had. Though not a regular item, as you have to special order this (a week in advance) the uni (sea urchin) was most buttery & velvety like an oceanic foie gras far better than what I had in Japan last year. The rest of the sashimi mainstays such as tuna belly, salmon, and yellowtail were equally buttery. My favorite comfort dish is the hamachi kama (grilled yellowtail collar). The meat is so tender and flavor so full of umami. It is a large collar of a large fish here whereas at other restaurants, I usually have seen it much smaller wondering why this dish is even on the menu. I have taken the leftovers of this hamachi to be enjoyed as my brunch the next day. Rolls such as the Lolly-pop (with a cucumber wrap) and Sunny (salmon topped with lemon and roe) have a crisp, lighter flavor. I will definitely be returning for their top notch sushi!

This is the new business name for Sushi Island which had great reviews...we got here and thought google maps sent us to the wrong place until we saw the old door sign...so in we went. Cute interior like the Sushi Island reviews said. Waitress was very friendly! We're from Hawai'i so sushi is our norm and we're very critical when we travel of what sushi we eat..., we're in AZ for baseball and of course being creatures of habit we looked for what we know. Loved it! Got there 30 min before closing and they still let us eat. Really enjoyed it.

My co-worker and I work for an ambulance service- we walked in hungry and on a budget for time. The service was prompt, friendly, informative and helpful. The food was excellent, prepared quickly, and very reasonably priced. The restaurant space was clean and had a nice atmosphere inside. I can heartily recommend to anyone!

So happy to have found a legitimate place for real & fresh sushi in the West Valley!!…read more Previously I would be subject to driving out to Sushi Sen in Scottsdale for sushi/Japanese food. Haru is a nice alternative that is much closer and offers an omakase plate that rivals some of the best sushi you can find in Torrance/LA. The pricing of this omakase is steep at $70 for 8pcs of premium fish plus a toro roll but worthwhile for a special occasion or to get your fix. Pricing on their happy hour seems pretty reasonable as well which is most weekdays until 6pm. Pricing on the rest of the menu is fair but doesnt quite exceed expectations in terms of value for money, especially compared to Sushi Sen. My mom, who is an incredibly tough critic, really enjoyed the soft shell crab tempura and said it wasn't oily or greasy. I have to agree. I enjoyed their "tuna cracker" which is like spicy tuna crispy rice at most other restaurants. I've already been back a second time within the same week and will probably be back again within the month. Highly recommend!

The food is very good. The fresh fish is exactly as it should be- fresh. It didn't blow my mind,…read morethough. The service was fine and met expectations. Let's talk about the prices. Some of their specialty rolls are $50/roll!!! I repeat- FiIFTY American dollars per roll. I don't know that I've seen prices that high even in Scottsdale or Las Vegas. There's no reason that this casual sushi spot should be charging like they're off the coast of Japan in an elite cliffside restaurant. The food is very good, but it's not "I need to finance this meal", $50/roll good. Also.. I asked for the WiFi password (literally titled "Haru Sushi Guest") so I could work on my laptop if needed, just to be told they were not allowed to give out their WiFi password out to anyone (even the staff aren't allowed to use it). Kind of silly to be gatekeeping something as simple as WiFi in the year 2026. I would have loved to make this my new working lunch spot, but between the egregiously high prices and the WiFi witness protection program, I'll be skipping it next time.

You can really tell they take pride in the quality of their ingredients. What made the experience even better was the service. Ken took great care of us the entire time super friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and gave excellent service! He made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. Between the amazing sushi and top-notch service, this place is definitely one I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend!

I have been a Yama Sushi fan for some time and just hadn't had the opportunity to write a review…read more My Yama Sushi journey first began at the Phoenix location. I really enjoy the ambiance and service there, but learned quickly that with larger groups the Peoria location is best for us. One of my kids graduated from college last week and he wanted to celebrate. All he wanted was to have sushi and to celebrate with our relatives who came from out of state. We didn't know if it'd be doable since we were on the other side of the valley. We called, gave them our party size (12) and eta. Low and behold, they were able to get us a reservation. We get on the road to make it to our reservation 0745-0800, they close at 1000pm worse case scenario we get there by 0800 and we still have a good amount of time for the AYCE 90 minute experience. We get there and they have a sign out for the AYCE, last call 0830pm. We go inquire about the last call and our reservation being at 0745. They reassure us that we would still get the full 90 minute experience. At about 0800pm they tell us our table they thought would be available is not available, they say individual parties instead. A guy comes out and tells us that the time frame they gave us was an estimated time, we let him know that was not what were told, but we also got a text confirmation. He tells us, well the Weather is nice. We can accommodate you outside. We agreed. They got the tables all settled and we're about to sit down. The same older man tells us, that the last call is 0830PM, ummm what? They tell us well we can try and get everything in, but the last call is at 0830. You can stay until 0900, what?! I let him know that was not what there hostess had told us, we told him they said we'd still be served and given the 90 Minute experience. He said well I don't know why they told you that, I am going to have to go let them know that is not the case. It's now well past 0800pm and restaurants are closing soon and we are a large party. I was incredibly disappointed at how everything was handled, and how easy it was for the gentleman to just dismiss and shrug his shoulders like oh well. I was incredibly disappointed at how everything was handled, and how easy it was for the gentleman to just dismiss and shrug his shoulders like oh well. What was supposed to be a special celebration for our son's graduation turned into unnecessary stress and disappointment. We made the reservation based on the information their staff provided and planned accordingly, only to be told something completely different once we arrived. Had we been told upfront that they couldn't honor the full AYCE experience or accommodate our party as promised, we would have made other arrangements. After being loyal customers and recommending this place to family and friends, this experience made it clear that customer service and honoring commitments are not a priority. Unfortunately, that was our last visit For reference, when they sent the last text, we were already onsite.
