    Brisket and meatball pho #44

My wife and I had a great meal here! I had brisket and meatball pho and she had grilled pork bun, both were really good! The staff were very attentive and friendly. The decor is absolutely festive!

    Crispy salted shrimp

We made it in for their grand opening. We are in the area and were excited to learn we have a new option for Pho in the area. The food was excellent. Service was prompt. The crispy salted shrimp were enormous. The portions are large and the price is very reasonable. We will definitely be back. Welcome to the neighborhood.

    Cute floral arrangement saying welcome!

We had 6:30 reservations and were seated promptly, but because the restaurant itself is more on the smaller side, we were between two different tables, and it was extremely hard to hear each other with how close the tables were. If you are someone who doesn't mind this atmosphere, it's a great spot, but it is very challenging to hear when you're sitting across the table from someone and you've got other couples/ groups to the right and left of you. The wait staff were awesome and the service was great; we were not overly impressed with the food (no substitutions for certain items based on allergies so be aware). We had the bacon wrapped dates (good), Cesar salad (fresh but had a very tangy lemon flavor) and the beef bolognese ( we really wanted to like this, and the sauce that itself was good, but as the noodles were very al dente and more of a protein wheat based pasta flavor). We are glad we tried it (thanks Mrazsports!) but would not make it a rotational restaurant.

For me, it was a big hike up to the north side- but totally worth the haul! I grew up in the Midwest, occasionally going to one or two German restaurant/ clubs, so this was not an unfamiliar atmosphere to me. It is definitely a "seasoned" vibe, having immediately taken over the space by a former western bar/beer hall that had been in existence for 50+ years. Their menu says "German and Hungarian" but all I read was German. They have a solid European beer selection, including taps and bottles and some cocktails with a German twist. The one that threw me for a loop (in the best way) was Kriek! So ofc I got a pint. We shared a (fairly large) pretzel to start, which comes with beer cheese. Tasty, but I was genuinely shocked there was no mustard. I ordered the jagerschnitzel (pork) and just overall the meal was as expected as if I was in the Midwest - amazing, delicious, insert chef's kiss. I wish I could have joined the clean plate club. The cucumber salad was flavorful and not too sour/pickley. My friend and I both noted how umami the savory sauce was- not too bacon, not too mushroom. The potatoes were not too salty or under-seasoned. Literally willing to drive up again if/when someone tells me to go. It wasn't horribly busy so it didn't take forever to order and get everything we needed. Our server was super nice and patient. She even gave a bar suggestion that ended up being a nice cherry for the top of the evening.

We made a same-day reservation for a party of five--three teenagers and two adults. We all have different tastes and preferences, so I was hoping the menu would have something for everyone. It absolutely did, and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is lively yet cozy, making it easy to enjoy conversation even when the restaurant is busy. The staff was absolutely delightful from start to finish. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We started with the truffle fries and the green beans with almonds. Both were wonderful, and the truffle fries were definitely a hit! Our entrees included pastas, fish tacos, a burger, and I had a salad with added salmon. Everything was delicious. My salmon unfortunately came out undercooked, despite my request for it to be cooked through. Our waitress and the manager were incredibly gracious, kind, and genuinely apologetic. They handled everything with such care that it turned what could have been a disappointing experience into an example of exceptional customer service. As part of their above-and-beyond recovery, they treated us to their incredible house donut with the most amazing sauce. It was absolutely outstanding and is not to be missed! The ambiance is beautiful, both indoors and on the patio. We started with the sesame chicken potstickers and a glass of Riesling, then got the Asian chicken salads. Everything was fresh and really flavorful. My only small complaint was the portion sizes. Even the salad felt more like a side salad than a main, especially for the price. That said, the food was delicious. Service was quick and attentive, and overall it was a great experience. I'd definitely come back and try more of the menu.
