Rocket Shrimp Rice Paper Rolls
Valerie K.

The food was delicious and did not take much time to come out. The menu had a good amount of options I feel like there was something for everyone! The restaurant was very relaxing to sit in with all the plants & decor but I do feel the tables could be cleaned better, we had sauce splattered all over the condiments and the table # sign, on the table. The service was decent but I personally feel was a little lazy with the robot bringing the food to the table as we were the only ones there. Some feedback for one of the soups: The Royal Special Pho, for $20 the meat could have been fresher and all the meat aside from the meatballs was far overcooked, chewy which makes me think it was not fresh. We will still absolutely be back again and continue to support our local Pho!

Royal Mein Combo, Eggplant & Tofu, Shrimp & Beef Pho

Excellent service from Jade & Vicky, we loved our dinner here! I had the Shrimp & Noodle Pho with Beef brisket, and my boyfriend had the Eggplant with Tofu, and Chow Mein Combo with beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. We loved it all especially the pho and Eggplant with Tofu! We also enjoyed the Strawnana smoothie, and the Taro Boba tea. Lovely relaxing lounge jazzy music with plants throughout made the atmosphere nice and enjoyable.

The food was delicious. At spice slowly! Service was quick and servers were friendly! Good music, not too loud.

Royal Special - Bun Dac Biet - pork, grilled shrimp, egg rolls vermicelli noodle with fish sauce

Flavors are amazing here. Perfect balance. Right amount of savory to sweetness and to the crunch of the deep fried taro cake in an egg pancake. I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants and this one is really great. Excellent portion to price. Just good eating! I didn't try the pho since I just had that for lunch the same day at Da Vang.

I was craving Vietnamese food and I had been eyeing Royal Pho ever since they got the new signage. I checked out the menu online and saw they had a vegetarian section of the menu so I quickly jumped in my car to get some take out. Royal Pho is located within the Moon Valley plaza -- I can't recall the actual name but it is kind of up past Wells Fargo. It was a 3:30pm on a Saturday but the place was kind of empty and there was some music playing but overall it seemed to lack ambiance -- that was ok because I was only ordering out. I was getting take out so I went straight up to the counter and placed my order -- I ordered Vegetarian egg rolls, vegetarian vermicelli and and Vegetarian Thai basil with rice. Luckily they mentioned that it had eggplant in the thai basil dish because the description did not mention eggplant -- I go back and forth on my love of eggplant so I asked them to remove the eggplant -- I should have had them replace it with broccoli because when I opened the box for the thai basil it looked pretty sad -- it was pretty flavorful -- the tofu in this dish had a very yummy sauce that coated it but overall it seemed like it was definitely missing something. The vermicelli was kind of flavorless -- I know you pour the "fish" sauce over but maybe because it was vegan fish sauce it didn't pack the flavor that is really needed for this dish. I was excited for the pickled carrots but there were like two little slivers - mostly cucumbers and I should have ordered a lime because I do like a bit of citrus with this dish. The tofu on this dish was overcooked and didn't have any flavor. I smothered it with chili crunch when I got home and that helped. I did enjoy the egg rolls however the order only had three and this was for two people so we had to split one of the rolls -- had I known I guess I would have ordered two portions (but that would have been too much...) I am giving this three stars because overall it lacked flavor -- they didn't even ask how spicy I wanted it -- next time I will offer the information, and also because it was expensive IMO -- $50 with tip -- I guess I should have left less of a tip but I am just programmed. I am curious how the Pho is -- they do have veggie pho -- so I might go back when I have a craving.

Egg rolls delivered by robot

Was feeling under the weather today so stopped in for some pho tai and egg rolls. This place has been solid since they've opened. It's nice having a spot close to home that checks the box when sick or after a festive evening. The robot server is a fun thing to see as well.

First off, the location on google maps is slightly off, it's on the corner of the complex. The building won't say "Royal pho" but have "PHO" and a small "thunderbird" written on the pho bowl. They used to not be open on Sunday, but we were excited to see their new hours. It's large and spacious inside, quite clean. Starting off strong, they actually provided a lime for toppings! First time seeing that in the general north phx area. Didn't love it in my water tho...I liked all of the condiments offered and contained utensils. Idk what it is with the chili oil in this area either but this one wasn't spicy at all. The broth off bat was nice, more on the sweeter side. But then it goes down hill as the noodles were wayyyy overcooked and wayyyy too much noodles and not enough broth- this was the regular size mind you. I'd rather have less food that's properly prepared. Also not very much brisket here unfortunately. Sadly it just wasn't the best bowl, wouldn't return :(

Pork spring roll

I've been eating Vietnamese food for years and at one point had Pho 30 days straight in Culver City CA. Royal Pho is without a doubt the absolute best Vietnamese food I've ever had, including Vegas at Spring Mountain Road. The Bahn Mi French baguette is brought in weekly from Los Angeles. The level of love that goes into this restaurant and dishes is awesome. Every dish is made with love and the restaurant is charming, spotless, and staff knows how to make you feel special. Love this place so much.

Pho dac biet
Norm R.

I have been here twice now since the weather started turning cooler. Both times I ordered pho dac biet, the standard by which I evaluate Vietnamese restaurants because it is an "everything" pho - with meatballs, thin slices of beef and chicken, pieces of tendon, and in the case of this restaurant, a beef rib as well. It came with the requisite side plate of fresh Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, and wedge of lime. The pho broth is very tasty and full flavored, and the proteins were really good with none of the stored-in-the-freezer taste that seems commonplace in a lot of other restaurants. And the tendon was melty tender, the way it should be, unlike the more rubbery tendon pieces you would find in some other places that serve pho. Service is excellent, prices are good, location is convenient and parking is no issue.

Taro Smoothie

Food was fresh and delicious!! The broth was the perfect temperature when it arrived at my house. I ordered the Steak Noodle Soup / Pho Tai & a Taro Smoothie. I'm always hesitant trying a new restaurant but this was definitely worth it and I will be ordering from here again!

This place is slept on! We live nearby and always wondered about trying this place out and we finally did! Food was delicious and fulfilling. We were surprised with the various vegetarian options! Love that there was a lot to choose from. Hot and Spicy pho was the right amount of spice Portion sizes are great too. Already can't wait to go back.

I've been a couple times now. Dining area is quite large will seat big party. I've had pho and tried the fried rice. Lunch special is nice get a drink, entree and egg rolls for $20? Dinner time is a little pricy. There isn't much competition in this area good thing food tastes good. They had a robot serve the food. It was interesting.

Pho Ga

For those Pho lovers-this is the bomb!! The broth is delicious. Had Pho Ga and veggie egg rolls. All excellent. Ordered take out but picked up and very clean place and very good service. Definitely a keeper.

It is pretty spicy. The flavoring was really nice with a fish sauce in it. It was probably spicier than I wanted. Think I'll go back to my noodle order next time. It was good to try something different though. I would give my dish four stars. Otherwise everything else gets five stars. Free street parking outside.

The restaurant seems to charge for every little thing and the staff is slow and forgetful. Having to get up so many times just to remind them about our order is simply not acceptable. The space feels inviting and has a pleasant atmosphere. Food The food was good. We ordered the catfish spring rolls and they were delicious once everything finally made it to the table. Service The service was the biggest issue and it was very disappointing, especially since my family has been coming here for 3 years. Parts of our order were missing, including several side dishes and even the sauce for the spring rolls. We asked for a cup of ice and that was missing too. We waited about 10 minutes after receiving the catfish before the vegetables were brought out and we had to keep asking for simple items. It's a shame because things taste best when the food is still hot, but the catfish was already cold once they brought out all the small dishes that came with the main dish. Because the staff was moving so slowly, we ended up walking to the counter (6 times) just to follow up on things that should have been brought to us without asking. It honestly felt like we were serving ourselves. There should be no excuse why service was so slow because there's two waitress and only one other table. The Vietnamese coffee tasted sickly sweet and burnt. After taking one sip, I asked to switch to a Thai tea, hoping it would be better, but that drink was also extremely sickenly sweet. I returned it after one sip as well. I was surprised to see that I was charged for both drinks and was told it was because I drank them, which did not feel fair at all. They even charged us for the lemon slices.

But somehow I had saved this one to my map so I came here with a couple friends for dinner last week. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered spring rolls, crispy chicken dumplings and a "dragon egg" boba tea "smoothie." Though it was on their menu under "Smoothies" it was not a smoothie at all. It was an icee. That said, it was still delicious and I loved the fresh and fruity boba balls. The flavor was more lychee than strawberry, but I didn't mind. My friends got an appetizer plate and 5-spice chicken. Both enjoyed their food very much. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but does have sit-down service. Very chill vibes, and prices were fair. The place was clean, staff was attentive, and the peanut sauce that came with my spring rolls wasn't spicy, which I appreciated! So glad we tried this place out, and I would definitely like to come here again, especially when I have a bigger appetite!!

It's not quite a 5-star "blown away" experience, but it's a strong 4 stars and absolutely somewhere I'd come back to. We left completely full--but not that overly stuffed, regret-it-later kind of full. Just satisfied. The ambience is super comfortable, easy, casual. But, it's *super* loud, like really, really loud. The 4 of us had to literally scream, top of our lungs, to hear each other, and these aren't big tables, it's tight in there, so you're very close together. We left with sore throats from yelling. It felt like "a relief" when we stepped out front. After 2 hours sitting in the wooden seats, my butt was also relieved to be getting up. Parking is ridiculous, it's a very thin one way driveway with *no way to turn around* when you reach the end - back it up! Super tiny parking lot. Food: the food was very good. We ordered 6-8 things for the 4 of us because all items are pretty small. Top section of the menu are called smaller items. They were. Items on the bottom section are bigger, but not big. For perspective, when the 4 of us split an item from the bottom "entree section" we each got 2-3 bites/forks-full. So a full entree for one person is 8-12 bites. All items tasted very good, clearly high quality, well curated and definitely unique to this restaurant. The steamed white rice was hot, steamy, moist and sticky, really good. The Panang Chicken was really good, different, creamy, dark, rich and smokey. I added pictures of the menu, inside, patio, bar and a few food items so you can see for yourself. Would I go back? I would because the service was great, visual atmosphere was comfortable, and food was high quality, but turning the music volume down at least 1/2 way from what we had would go a long way,... a looooong way, seriously. Increasing the portion size of menu entrees would also be an improvement since they're about the same price as larger portions elsewhere. And throw some cushions on those inside wooden benches, our butts will thank you. Overall this was a good first visit and I'd try Glai Baan again, hoping for the same great service, quality food and updates to the other items.

I really wanted to like this spot, especially as a fan of a well-balanced bánh mì. The sandwich was generous and good value, loaded with meat, but the execution didn't quite come together. The vegetables were tucked toward the back of the bun, making it hard to enjoy that classic balance in each bite. The mayo was far too heavy and the meat leaned overly sweet, which threw off the overall flavor. It also could have used more jalapeños and cilantro to bring some freshness and contrast. The bread was crispy, which was nice, but it was much larger in size and shape than a traditional baguette, leaning more toward a big roll than that light, airy texture you'd expect. Overall, good value but missed the mark on balance and authenticity for me. Saluti.
