This is 1000% the worst vibe in a restaurant ever. UNLESS if you like hearing restaurant owners scream at their employees for missing part of an order, then this is the place for you! I was particularly confused when our waiter Aleena came over was so amazing, got our order knocked out to care of us gave us everything we needed, was kind and professional ... But then the owner started screaming at her? It was awful, the poor girl was nearly in tears, and my girlfriend had to go to the bathroom to vomit, after seeing the exchange. They both were holding back tears and I was ready to fling me plate at the guy Personally I've never been more furious, and felt like correcting a store owner. The nerve! Btw, our order was missing the egg.... AN EGG!! I asked for on the side, that I forgot about once our food came out. ... And I think an appetizer, came a little later?? My girlfriend and I came here for the first time, I've driven by this restaurant many times, and never had a chance to stop by this is the first time that I've was able to go in. As for the food quality.... I got the shaken beef, and the onions and peppers were undercooked ... My girlfriends meal was terrible. We got a vermicelli rice bowl, with grilled beef that looked like day old shrivelled up pork that has been boiled, no grilled. It was pale even . The appetizers, we're ok, the potstickers were burnt and overly chewy. Also the calimari was pitiful... I think they put six small pieces on our plate, and it cost $10 Normally I don't go so scorched Earth on food quality, but if your standards are so high for your employees that you're willing to scream at them in front of the clientele, the food better be five star. Unfortunately I can think of at least five other restaurants in the area that can do much better from the food perspective, and they don't yell at their employees. The servers were doing their absolute best, they kept our waters refilled they cared for our every need, and they even gave me a fresh viatnemese coffee to take home! Btw if you like Vietnamese coffee, I highly recommend the restaurant, just leave after ordering. A bright and pretty place! I picked up an order of a vermicelli bowl with grilled shrimp and egg rolls. Pros: veggies were bright and crisp and fresh! Excellent fish sauce. Nice sized portion. Cons: My shrimp were dry, overcooked and cold. My egg rolls were also cold and not freshly made, imho. They had a "very" strong cinnamon taste to the filling, almost as if someone accidentally dumped way too much cinnamon in the filling. It was just not to my taste. Most of my noodles were clumped together and dried out lwhen I tried the meal a bit later. I would happily return to try some curry or pho when the weather shifts. I went to Royal Pho with my friend Allen a few weeks ago , we had a good time up (the food was well prepared) until we witnessed an employee being verbally abused...I didn't know Vietnamese food was served with a show. Talk about awkward...It made me uncomfortable as woman. I just hate seeing girls get berated by larger men in general and this really triggered some past trauma for me. The service was extremely nice and accommodating. It was relatively quick to revive our food to go after packing our order. The ambiance inside was lacking. The food itself was mediocre. We got a pho with every type of meat, chicken lo mein, and pork rolls. The lo mein was way too simple and not very flavorful. My daughter only ate a few noodles and was done. Great little neighborhood place off of Thunderbird and 7th. The service team was very friendly and made you feel at home right away. Started with the fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Server told us they were fairly large and they were. But the filling was all noodles, lettuce, and cucumber with shrimp that was cut in half just on the exterior. Peanut sauce was tasty and not filled with cornstarch as thickener. Ordered the steak and brisket pho. The steak was sliced very thin as was the brisket. I'm used to have these items raw on top of the pho and you would mix in all your veggies, herbs, citrus, jalapeño and it would cook in the broth. These came already fully cooked in the broth. The broth had a little more sugar as it was very sweet compared to other pho broth I'm familiar with. Also ordered the grilled pork with rice. Pork was spicy marinade that was cooked on the flat top and not grilled with a very crispy well done fried egg. A little tomato and cucumber salad on the side. Overall food was pretty good and the servers were very friendly. Fun part, food was delivered by robot which was very unexpected in this corner family restaurant. Ate here a few weeks ago and truthfully wish I didn't, I absolutely love hearing the boss yell at his workers when I'm trying to eat. Completely ruined my hunger for what was great looking pho which i did eat but the taste was soured by Mr big man "I yell at my workers" which from other reviews seems to be an ongoing issue. I had the Shrimp & Noodle Pho with Beef brisket, and my boyfriend had the Eggplant with Tofu, and Chow Mein Combo with beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. The food was delicious and did not take much time to come out. The menu had a good amount of options I feel like there was something for everyone! The restaurant was very relaxing to sit in with all the plants & decor but I do feel the tables could be cleaned better, we had sauce splattered all over the condiments and the table # sign, on the table. The service was decent but I personally feel was a little lazy with the robot bringing the food to the table as we were the only ones there. Some feedback for one of the soups: The Royal Special Pho, for $20 the meat could have been fresher and all the meat aside from the meatballs was far overcooked, chewy which makes me think it was not fresh. I was craving Vietnamese food and I had been eyeing Royal Pho ever since they got the new signage. I checked out the menu online and saw they had a vegetarian section of the menu so I quickly jumped in my car to get some take out. Royal Pho is located within the Moon Valley plaza -- I can't recall the actual name but it is kind of up past Wells Fargo. It was a 3:30pm on a Saturday but the place was kind of empty and there was some music playing but overall it seemed to lack ambiance -- that was ok because I was only ordering out. I was getting take out so I went straight up to the counter and placed my order -- I ordered Vegetarian egg rolls, vegetarian vermicelli and and Vegetarian Thai basil with rice. Luckily they mentioned that it had eggplant in the thai basil dish because the description did not mention eggplant -- I go back and forth on my love of eggplant so I asked them to remove the eggplant -- I should have had them replace it with broccoli because when I opened the box for the thai basil it looked pretty sad -- it was pretty flavorful -- the tofu in this dish had a very yummy sauce that coated it but overall it seemed like it was definitely missing something. The vermicelli was kind of flavorless -- I know you pour the "fish" sauce over but maybe because it was vegan fish sauce it didn't pack the flavor that is really needed for this dish. I was excited for the pickled carrots but there were like two little slivers - mostly cucumbers and I should have ordered a lime because I do like a bit of citrus with this dish. The tofu on this dish was overcooked and didn't have any flavor. I smothered it with chili crunch when I got home and that helped. I did enjoy the egg rolls however the order only had three and this was for two people so we had to split one of the rolls -- had I known I guess I would have ordered two portions (but that would have been too much...) I am giving this three stars because overall it lacked flavor -- they didn't even ask how spicy I wanted it -- next time I will offer the information, and also because it was expensive IMO -- $50 with tip -- I guess I should have left less of a tip but I am just programmed. I am curious how the Pho is -- they do have veggie pho -- so I might go back when I have a craving. read more

First off, the location on google maps is slightly off, it's on the corner of the complex. The building won't say "Royal pho" but have "PHO" and a small "thunderbird" written on the pho bowl. They used to not be open on Sunday, but we were excited to see their new hours. It's large and spacious inside, quite clean. Starting off strong, they actually provided a lime for toppings! First time seeing that in the general north phx area. Didn't love it in my water tho...I liked all of the condiments offered and contained utensils. Idk what it is with the chili oil in this area either but this one wasn't spicy at all. The broth off bat was nice, more on the sweeter side. But then it goes down hill as the noodles were wayyyy overcooked and wayyyy too much noodles and not enough broth- this was the regular size mind you. I'd rather have less food that's properly prepared. Also not very much brisket here unfortunately. Sadly it just wasn't the best bowl, wouldn't return :( read more

I have been here twice now since the weather started turning cooler. Both times I ordered pho dac biet, the standard by which I evaluate Vietnamese restaurants because it is an "everything" pho - with meatballs, thin slices of beef and chicken, pieces of tendon, and in the case of this restaurant, a beef rib as well. It came with the requisite side plate of fresh Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, and wedge of lime. The pho broth is very tasty and full flavored, and the proteins were really good with none of the stored-in-the-freezer taste that seems commonplace in a lot of other restaurants. And the tendon was melty tender, the way it should be, unlike the more rubbery tendon pieces you would find in some other places that serve pho. Service is excellent, prices are good, location is convenient and parking is no issue. read more

Royal Pho is without a doubt the absolute best Vietnamese food I've ever had, including Vegas at Spring Mountain Road. The Bahn Mi French baguette is brought in weekly from Los Angeles. The level of love that goes into this restaurant and dishes is awesome. Every dish is made with love and the restaurant is charming, spotless, and staff knows how to make you feel special. I love what the new owners have done with the space, it is beautiful and the music is very cool. The food has been consistently delicious every time my partner and I go for a meal. The sandwich's are phenomenal and all the pho's are perfectly prepared. The pho broth is a perfectly balanced and you can order all of them spicy if you want. I am SO happy that this place opened in the neighborhood and we dine there at least twice a week for the high quality but reasonable prices for such delicious dishes. I love this place, I used to live closer to it and came here religiously. Now I still make the drive because it's worth it. The broth is excellent and the services is actually good. It's clean and they are open during reasonable hours. I want them to open more locations. Other places do not have authentically cooked broth, pho broth is quite the process of cooking. And a lot of other places cut corners and use flavor powder and you can taste the difference and see the difference in the way the broth looks. This place does not do that, they cook their broth authentically, the way it's supposed to be cooked traditionally. I love it. That is why I come here.
