Been coming here for years I usually call in an order. I order the same thing each time with no spice. Today I came in ordered what I always order the server responds oh its not spicy at all Well the order comes out and it's so spicy it's not enjoyable I tell the server and he basically tells me that he couldn't do much and that I was going to charge me for that one charge me for another one if he had to remake it? I was confused and I paused for a moment and I said I asked you if it was spicy you said no it's not spicy it is spicy and then he goes. Oh did I say that it was very confusing he was a young Asian gentleman in sweatpants and slippers. Then we asked for one soda and one water. He brings two sodas out when he told him he only asked for one. He's like ok if he was very confused. It was a very off experience nothing to what it usually is. We met friends for dinner at Little Saigon. The place was fairly crowded considering it was a Monday evening. After reviewing the menu we decided on Lemongrass chicken with vegetables, beef with vegetables, beef vermicelli, and shrimp vermicelli. Service is always fast here. I ordered the lemongrass chicken. It is pretty spicy. The flavoring was really nice with a fish sauce in it. It was probably spicier than I wanted. Think I'll go back to my noodle order next time. It was good to try something different though. I would give my dish four stars. Otherwise everything else gets five stars. Free street parking outside. read more

Overall This experience was very frustrating from start to finish and made the entire meal feel unpleasant. The restaurant seems to charge for every little thing and the staff is slow and forgetful. Having to get up so many times just to remind them about our order is simply not acceptable. The space feels inviting and has a pleasant atmosphere. Food The food was good. We ordered the catfish spring rolls and they were delicious once everything finally made it to the table. Service The service was the biggest issue and it was very disappointing, especially since my family has been coming here for 3 years. Parts of our order were missing, including several side dishes and even the sauce for the spring rolls. We asked for a cup of ice and that was missing too. We waited about 10 minutes after receiving the catfish before the vegetables were brought out and we had to keep asking for simple items. It's a shame because things taste best when the food is still hot, but the catfish was already cold once they brought out all the small dishes that came with the main dish. Because the staff was moving so slowly, we ended up walking to the counter (6 times) just to follow up on things that should have been brought to us without asking. It honestly felt like we were serving ourselves. There should be no excuse why service was so slow because there's two waitress and only one other table. The Vietnamese coffee tasted sickly sweet and burnt. After taking one sip, I asked to switch to a Thai tea, hoping it would be better, but that drink was also extremely sickenly sweet. I returned it after one sip as well. I was surprised to see that I was charged for both drinks and was told it was because I drank them, which did not feel fair at all. It's in an old house so it really felt like you were having dinner at a relatives house. They have a large menu and good variety of choices. We ordered: Spring rolls: very good. Freshly made to order. Pork was well marinated in lemongrass. Egg rolls: on the smaller side but made it easier to eat. Served with lettuce and herbs. Very good. Banh xeo: almost identical to my moms. Just wish it was more crispy. Beef pho: served HOT which I appreciate. broth was very clear and lacked much flavor. Noodles were overcooked and mushy. Little beef. Just okay. Loaded with msg. Because I could feel it after eating. Complaints are: Everything came out at one time. Service was very slow. Only two people working from what I could see. We stopped in after walking around downtown, a great little house converted into a restaurant. We tried two of the middle salads, the beef and shrimp pho, and the potstickers. I did not expect to be able to find good Vietnamese food in Phoenix. Boy was I proved wrong. Everything was excellent with very fresh vegetables and perfect balance of spices. Not too oily and very flavorful. For our non-adventurous eater, we were able to get a beef stir-fry with veggies. The rest of us loved the cumin spiced fish specialty dish, spring rolls (excellent), pork belly, and the crepe was delicious as well. Finally, the service was excellent. Had lunch there Wednesday and the food is amazing and the server was excellent, she was very efficient... one of my favorite places to eat.

First time here and was pleasantly surprised. The pho took a little linger to get than most other places, or perhaps they were waiting for us to eat our appetizer. 1. The meat was not as plentiful as the majority of other pho places which was a little disappointing, however, 2. The pho broth was obviously home made with live, not a bullion based pho. Although it could have used more star anise IMO. 3, the place while small as most pho places are, it didn't feel that way. I did NOT feel like i was elbows touching other dinners as many other pho places are. As a bigger woman i did NoT feel like i had to squeeze by other tables. 4. The staff were very pleasant and we did not have to wait for refills. And they handled special requests such as no onion garnishes on my soup were pleasantly handled. Even when I asked for a teaspoon of their spring roll sauce so that I could see what it was like for next time they had no problems with. It was a little dark, but I was still able to read the menu. And the darkness was actually comforting after being out in the Phoenix Sun. 5. The music was a nice level, we could talk across the table and NOT feel like we had to yell. I would suggest to the owners to either get rid of or take care of your fish tank better. I felt bad for the 1-2 fish inside it. The water was cloudy and probably needed a water change or the filtration changed out. And the inside glass needed cleaning for beginning of algae. It could have been a nice feature, but instead looks like a neglected decor afterthought. 6. I would come here again, especially if you want a sit down experience, or are brining guests and you wont feel rushed. read more

A delightful little hidden gem in downtown Glendale! We went on a Saturday at 1 PM and got right in with no wait. We had the rice noodle salad with shrimp and it was incredible! The shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the dressing that went over the noodle salad was fresh and bright, and you could add a little spice with the chili, which made it perfect! I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and authentic the dishes were. We were on a road trip from California (where there are plentiful GOOD Asian restaurants) so I was apprehensive of having Vietnamese food in Arizona. But, we were hungry and tired and decided to stop here. The menu was extensive and the restaurant was quaint. I ordered the Goi Ga, Hu tieu Ap Chao, and Bo La lop/nho (uncommon dish to find in many viet restaurants and usually made for parties at home) and each dish was tasty with fresh ingredients. What a great spot! I came here with my coworkers and I was excited to eat Vietnamese food - I haven't had pho in a while. Although the menu was large and they had a lot to offer, I ordered the Chicken Pho and asked about the broth, which is beef. Our waiter shared he could also use chicken broth, so I opted for that even though beef is okay with me (just not pork). They do offer a vegan bowl and vegan broth which is accommodating. My bowl was large and plentiful. I received the plate of topping prior to the bowl which included the standard basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeños, and lime. Everything was delicious! I finished my pho and was not overly full, which was good. My lunch companions all seemed to enjoy their dishes as well, as they ordered rice vermicelli bowls with shrimp and tofu, tofu curry and plates, spicy chicken, and spring rolls. Service was efficient and friendly considering our large group, which is always appreciated. I love the atmosphere here of an older, cozy house and there's a nice patio and plants outside for when the weather is cooler. I'd like to come back and try some additional menu items! read more

Tried this place Saturday night and it did not disappoint. For the appetizer we ordered the spring rolls. I like that they include veggies on the side, so you can wrap it with lettuce and cucumber. For the entree, I had the chicken curry with white rice. My favorite part was the carrots, they were so delicious. The sauce was thick and flavorful. The entire meal was a 5/5. There was no wait when we arrived at 7:30pm. The server was very friendly and prompt. Having the restaurant inside of a house makes it feels homey. They were not busy but we still waited over 15 minutes and no one greeted us. Inside it was uncomfortably warm which made it difficult to enjoy the food. By the time we were served we were ready to just get out of there. Dining will likely be more comfortable in the fall and winter since it's an older building but they also don't allow seating on the patio which is a waste because it's actually really nice and covered by trees. They have a lot of potential but it's not really being used. Id love to see this place better managed and made to be more comfortable and inviting. read more

Good food with decent service I had the pho and I am not a pho nor soup fan. I actually quite enjoyed it. I do still prefer ramen but this was really flavorful. They give you a plateful of veggies you can put in your soup, i recommend adding it as soon as the soup arrives so it can cook a lil bit.
