The delicious pho!
Roger W.

Wow!!!! I've been coming here for years. It's under new ownership at first I was worried but omg!!! The food is amazing. The Pho that I had today was out of this world. It was a beef rib Pho. The broth had just the right amount of flavor, the beef rib was tender and flavorful. This is a limited time dish. The other items on the menu are equally delicious. The place is clean and the service is excellent. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant.

The pho here is always so delicious! The broth has just the right amount of flavor before adding in any extra sauces. The servers are so genuine and caring and even when the restaurant is super busy, the restaurant feels more like home than a crowded space.

Great place to go for Pho located on the south east corner on 7th Avenue an Osborne tucked away around the corner from Safeway grocery store. Very nice ambience laid-back. I normally go for the. Hot & Spicy Noodle Soup - Bún Bò Huế Vermicelli Noodles, Brisket, and Pork Rolls in House Made Spicy Broth $13.50 the service is fast friendly. Prices are very reasonable compared to other Vietnamese restaurants normally a dish like this will run you $15.50-$17.00!

Visiting Phoenix and hit this little joint. Very awesome. Service was fast and friendly! Food was amazing and the price point was great. I got spring rolls, a pork bahn mi and a Diet Coke. Ambience was nice and quiet with chill music playing. Gotta return to try the PHO!

Update 10-23-24 Saigon Crepe. Did you know you can request Saigon Crepe with no meat or fish sauce and have tofu and veggies? Yes you can! It's worth it! A different kind of meal that is crispy and filling. Of course I wanted my grilled pork rice dish with a fried egg requested on top. Worth the trip here! Lots of people at night. Great for families and dates. Lots of people enjoying their meal and chatting. Come at night!

I'm Vietnamese and I am very particular about my pho broth. It's one of the first things I try when I visit a Vietnamese place I've never been to. This place definitely got my 5 stars for their pho! The broth was perfectly spiced - I did not need to add any flavoring except the typical mint leaves and jalapeños. The noodles were not overcooked. The brisket and rare steak were tender. And they were good size pieces. We also ordered the crispy noodles, which was a first for me. And they were very good, especially the sauce that was on it. I actually secretly wished I had room in my tummy to ask for rice to eat with the remaining sauce. Overall great experience. Fast service. Amazing food. Will definitely come back!

A quick take out order, I only tried the banh mi. It was good value for money. Felt could have had a little more sauce to it. They had decent portions of meat as well.

Good food, i've never tried pho i'm not sure if i'm a huge fan of it but it wasn't bad and i'd probably go again. They have good service and are pretty nice, the inside was pretty clean and busy which is always good. My boyfriend really enjoyed his pho noodles with rare steak but there wasn't much meat. I liked my crispy fried noodles w shrimp chicken and beef (you get 2 shrimps, 3 bites of beef, 4 bites of chicken lots of veggies).

THEY DON'T MISS! Everything I've had over my visits these last 5 years or so is always good! I had beef pho and this beef skillet served with and egg and your choice of rice or bread. The pho broth is perfectly seasoned without adding any sauces. The service is very quick and they answered my questions about the beef skillet to make sure I ordered the right one. The bread the skillet was served with was warm and fresh. It's a small and simple place as far as decor and I don't necessarily care for having to go to the front desk to pay but all minor because the food is delicious. I've ordered several different things besides pho and it's always good!

The noodles didn't quite do it for me, but the fried rice was decent!

**Service:** The service was outstanding! My server was very good! **Location:** The restaurant is situated in a nice, clean area, which added to the overall experience. **Menu Options:** The menu offered a fantastic variety of options. **Flavor of Food:** Unfortunately, the flavor of the food fell short for me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just didn't taste as good as I had hoped. **Portion Size:** On the plus side, the portion sizes were generous--I definitely didn't leave feeling hungry! Overall, while the service and setting were excellent, the food lacked the authenticity I was looking for. If your looking for quick bite and dont care about things listed go. But I will say theres better options out there.

I decided to stop and give it a try as I saw it on Yelp when searching for bbq buns. Asian food is a top favorite and normally get at a good dim sum place. Ok interior is nice reminds me of maybe a former bbq restaurant. I may have done 5 stars but it chaps my hide when restaurants charge for soda water the same cost of a soda. Note not canned or bottled but same as that from the fountain. Ok to the food good my favor it is the Bao Pork belly bun peanuts and pickled veggies 5 stars. Next is the soup dumplings first time having got full but sampled 3 different ones need to try the others 4 stars. The Bbq pork buns good chunks of pork pork in the middle 3 stars. There were 4 of us. Our server, Kassiddi, was fantastic, super attentive, knowledgable, helpful,…read morefriendly, we couldn't have asked for better, she was awesome. The ambience is super comfortable, easy, casual. But, it's *super* loud, like really, really loud. The 4 of us had to literally scream, top of our lungs, to hear each other, and these aren't big tables, it's tight in there, so you're very close together. We left with sore throats from yelling. It felt like "a relief" when we stepped out front. After 2 hours sitting in the wooden seats, my butt was also relieved to be getting up. Parking is ridiculous, it's a very thin one way driveway with *no way to turn around* when you reach the end - back it up! Super tiny parking lot. Food: the food was very good. We ordered 6-8 things for the 4 of us because all items are pretty small. Top section of the menu are called smaller items. They were. Items on the bottom section are bigger, but not big. For perspective, when the 4 of us split an item from the bottom "entree section" we each got 2-3 bites/forks-full. So a full entree for one person is 8-12 bites. All items tasted very good, clearly high quality, well curated and definitely unique to this restaurant. The steamed white rice was hot, steamy, moist and sticky, really good. The Panang Chicken was really good, different, creamy, dark, rich and smokey. I added pictures of the menu, inside, patio, bar and a few food items so you can see for yourself. Would I go back? I would because the service was great, visual atmosphere was comfortable, and food was high quality, but turning the music volume down at least 1/2 way from what we had would go a long way,... a looooong way, seriously. Increasing the portion size of menu entrees would also be an improvement since they're about the same price as larger portions elsewhere. And throw some cushions on those inside wooden benches, our butts will thank you. Overall this was a good first visit and I'd try Glai Baan again, hoping for the same great service, quality food and updates to the other items.

So when I say…read morethis visit had some highs and lows, understand that I am coming from a place of love, not grievance. Their ramen alone is worth the trip. This was one meal, not a verdict. We planted ourselves on the patio, which has genuinely great atmosphere. Phoenix in April means you are playing thermal roulette with your will to live, and some misters would not go unappreciated. Service was fantastic: we had what felt like a whole school of staff looking after us, and every single one of them knew the menu, had great recommendations, and seemed personally invested in getting hot food to our table at a speed that bordered on supernatural. Now the drinks: The Overnight is what sophisticated apple juice dreams about when it finally goes to therapy and starts making better choices. Delicate, elegant, with a soft foam that has absolutely no business being that pretty. It arrives with a tiny scoop of green tea ice cream that is subtle and perfect as a chaser. Drink of the night, no contest. The Caipirinha is a genuine unicorn on Phoenix menus because of the specialty spirit, cachaça, in it and it was beautifully done. It is a touch sweet for my lime-forward preferences, but my husband absolutely loved it. The Pornstar Martini is everything the name promises and nothing you would hesitate to recommend to your most judgmental aunt. The passionfruit actually comes through, which sounds like the bare minimum but is apparently a radical act in cocktail culture because of the delicate flavor. Pure summer in a glass and I would order it again without blinking. On to the food, where things get a little more complicated: The Chorizo Wonton special had real potential and great chorizo that was clearly trying its heart out. Unfortunately the wonton wrapper arrived and decided to throw a wet blanket over the entire proceedings. The chorizo had somewhere to go and the wrapper simply would not let it go there. However, the pickled onions served alongside are a 10/10. The 3 for $18 steamed buns were the main event of the evening. The buns themselves are soft, pillowy, and structurally perfect, which makes what I am about to say about some of the fillings all the more tragic: The pork belly bun is just... fine, perhaps the most devastating thing you can say about pork belly, which has no business being merely fine. It runs a little dry, a little too thick, and needs significantly more hoisin to reach anything close to its potential. The sauce exists but it is doing the bare minimum. 6/10 The hot chicken bun redeems the situation considerably. Thigh meat instead of breast and is genuinely flavorful and while the hot sauce is more generic than exciting, it gets the job done without embarrassing itself. A respectable recovery. 8/10. The BBQ plum meatball bun is currently the Bun of the Moment and I need everyone involved in this restaurant's decision making to sit down because I have some things to say. That plum sauce is sweet and slightly smoky and the meatballs are perfectly tender with a ginger note that shows up with confidence. We loved this bun so much that we physically interrupted the table next to us mid-conversation to recommend it. I heard the chef is considering adding it to the permanent menu, and I would like to formally submit my vote, my husband's vote, and the votes of our neighboring diners who received our unsolicited opinion whether they wanted it or not. Add it to the menu. I will not be taking questions. 10/10, perfect, do not touch it. The Char Sui Pork Banh Mi is where I must tread carefully, partly out of fairness and partly because I know in my heart that some of this is personal taste rather than kitchen failure. The flavors ran very sweet with no acidity showing up to mediate, and the whole thing just was not for me. The Thai salad side, however, is a more objective situation. The bang bang dressing was applied with such aggressive restraint that I began to wonder if the kitchen was rationing it for an emergency. What remained was a bowl of cabbage doing a joyless impression of a salad that had given up on itself. Here is where I land: Clever Koi is a genuinely great restaurant having a complicated relationship with a couple of its dishes, which happens to the best of us. The cocktail program is vast and outstanding, the staff is warm and efficient and somehow makes you feel like the most important table in the room, the ramen is the stuff of legend, and the meatball bun is currently the most consequential thing happening in Phoenix. I will be back. I will be ordering the meatball bun in quantities that will concern the kitchen. Five stars, because I have a vested interest in that meatball bun sticking around and I am not above a little strategic encouragement on Yelp.

I actually…read morejust realized that I'm not even sure if this is the correct location but since I live in Gilbert, I'm going to assume this was the one that was delivered to me. Either way, The food we received was the bomb.com! We were hanging out and watching movies on a Saturday while my lady was nursing a bit of a cold. She wanted something in the chicken noodle soup family, and after a bit of back-and-forth, we decided to look for Ramen or pho. Now that's where the start started, but that's clearly not where it ended. After a couple of different searches, we found kung fu noodle And simply picked it based on a combination of the pictures, the reviews and the fact that they have several noodle soup options that looked really appealing. Ultimately, we ended up ordering the spicy beef noodle soup, and the house special noodle soup along with their dumplings, crab Rangoon's and fried rice. Now, usually I skip straight to the review of the food at this point, but I have to give them one additional compliment. This place goes the extra mile in terms of making sure the delivery experience is Extra level. Starting with their packaging, which, for someone who is infatuated with great design, they really do a great job of driving home the full brand experience! Not only were the package is aesthetically, pleasing and artistic in some cases, but they were also very functional as well with all of the plastic containers having sealed lids that had to be broken open for the first time by us. This was just extra assurance that our food wasn't tampered with on the ride from the restaurant to the house. In addition, the food was extremely fresh and hot, even the crab Rangoon's, which in some cases can be delivered with that wet, gummy effect because of the steam and condensation that accumulates inside of many of the take-home containers that you receive from most Asian food places. I wouldn't argue that this is the kind of containers that you would necessarily keep around as home Tupperware, but the bag that they sent everything in definitely feels like it's gotta reuse or two in it. Overall, we were really happy with the quality of the food as both Soups were portion wise enough for two consecutive days of meals. Same thing with the fried rice, which was really good We got the shrimp version and it had plenty of shrimp and veggies in addition to really fresh rice. Lastly, while I'm not specifically a dumpling guy, I decided to try these because the pictures looked really good on the website. And I can't lie, these were definitely really Good dumplings. Overall, we are looking forward to trying to spot out in person, but if we have to order again before we make it in person, that's what it is going to be!

This does make it a little easier to take any leftovers to go because you can grab a lid later. The inside is very clean. You likely won't see too many other guests eating in as most get takeout. Unfortunately, Kung Fu Noodles does not live up to that for us. You have to approach this restaurant with takeout in mind. Portion sizing is pretty generous. The food itself is very okay. With so many other takeout places to compete in the area, my partner and I likely won't return.

The edamame was salted well throughout where a lot of places just put the salt on top only. We ordered a couple varieties of sake which were both good. Out of all of the things we ordered the karange skewer was just a little more oily than were use to, but still good. The spicy salmon roll had really great flavor and the lollipop roll was probably one of the better versions that we have had. On a Sunday evening, after checking out the Desert Botanical Garden, I was looking for some food in…read morethe area. I came across Zu Izakaya and it's great reviews as one of the options. I love Japanese food so my decision was made. I drove over and parked in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): I've been to Japan and there are plenty of izakayas there. Think of them as small bars which often serve solid food. Zu fits that bit. It's a relatively small restaurant, probably seats about 30 people. and it's pretty no frills for a Japanese spot. I was seated at a booth in the corner of the restaurant. They have free WiFi which is always a good touch. Service (3/5): Service was friendly, though a bit inconsistent. My waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. The type of service where you have to flag them down to get what you want and to close out. Drinks (4/5): Zu has a nice menu of Japanese and Korean beverages, including sake, soju, Japanese beer, and more. With that being said, I just had an iced green tea. Food (4/5): I got a nice variety. I went with the Japanese sausage off of the grill menu, the OBI mayo roll off of the sushi menu, and the cheese corn off of the appetizer menu. Let's start with the sausage. It's a small item, two small sausages, but absolutely delicious. The sausage was bursting with flavor and basted in a sweet sauce. Minus the portion size, perfection. The cheese corn also hit the spot, but the execution was off. The corn is served on a hot platter, and unfortunately some of the corn on the edges was badly burnt. The type of situation where they should start over. Which they didn't. Lastly, the OBI mayo roll is essentially a California roll with marinated warm shrimp on top in a mayo sauce. I didn't love the hot and cold combo (shrimp and sushi), but outside of the temperature, it was a delicious roll. All in all, a very food meal. My only gripe with Japanese food is that it can get expensive quick. Given that Zu is in Tempe, I was hoping that prices would be a little cheaper. With that being said, they do have a solid happy hour (and reverse happy hour) with both food and drink specials. Next time I stop by, I'd like to check out some of their Korean options. I focused on the Japanese stuff this time (which makes the majority of the menu). Next time around, the bulgogi is calling my name!
