A new sushi spot close to home!? Awesome. Previous restaurants in this location have struggled but Hachiko is a cut above. Delicious sushi and some wonderful blue fin specials! The chicken katsu was cooked to perfection and the rainbow roll was fresh and perfect. We also tried the blue fin carpaccio and really enjoyed this treat. All the servers were very pleasant and right on the ball. It's a walk from my house which means I'll be back soon and so should you.

Hachiko Sushi House just opened, and it's already setting a high bar. We met the owner, Rem, who is absolutely wonderful and makes you feel like a regular the moment you walk in. We ordered the Snow White Roll and the Blue Fin Sashimi--the portions and presentation were honestly incredible, and the fish was some of the freshest we've had in years. Don't wait until there's a line out the door. Go see Rem, enjoy the amazing vibe, and grab some high-quality sushi that actually fills you up. Your new favorite local spot has arrived!

What an AMAZING discovery!! Everything was great from the wonderful greeting, quick service and the many items we tried!! Joshua our waiter gave great suggestions with prompt friendly service. We are quite picky on our fresh fish, but the owners Remy and Peter are just as picky. The fish is fresh and amazing. Allan the chief chef created some unique dishes for us with amazing sauces. Ask for a spoon or white rice to be able to finish the sauces! We had two different carpaccios, jalapeño poppers were different than normal and much easier to eat with great flavor. If we lived here, we would be here twice a week!! A full bar with a great selection of American and Japanese specialties adds to the ambiance. God bless this great new endeavor of Remy and Peter. So Good!!!!

Stopped in late for dinner, sat at the bar and was very welcomed in. Service and hospitality were great and the food was even better. Spicy Geisha drink was great and all rolls I included were well made. The Cucumber Wrap was super fresh. Excited to come back and try the lunch special! Will be back for the Veggie Tempura too!

Cute new neighborhood spot. We got the pork dumplings, jalapeño poppers, spicy tuna roll, seared salmon roll, soft shell crab roll, edamame and a couple of sushis. Everything was great, poppers were a standout with crab meat inside. Staff was so nice, we will return!

Second time here since it opened. Absolutely love it. The interior is nice and renovated as new restaurant and updated. Extremely clean. Sushi and full menu items are spectacular. Miso ramen, house salad and the Moonlight roll. Flavors are fantastic and sushi is high quality. The best part; Owners are a delight!

    Spicy Tuna and amazing Takoyaki!

The Takoyaki was excellent along with the Agedashi Tofu dish, the broth is A+ Had Red Snapper sushi as well and it was so fresh and flavorful, I can't wait to return here to try more of the menu I had happy hour deals but the menu seems very unique and it's excellent japanese menu with not only sushi but ramen and katsu dishes so an amazing deal for some of the Japanese I've had in Phoenix lately. Stop here if your by the Art Museum or Theatre Company for some excellent Japanese cuisine as they just opened and it's not to be missed!

We arrived a little after 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. But in the next 20 minutes it filled up and there was open sitting at the bar only. The mood was initially quiet but quickly turned more up beat as the restaurant filled and pop rock music was playing. We asked our waiter a few questions about a few of their rolls and he was very helpful with guidance and recommendations. We ordered Salmon Lemon, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Avocado Maki and California rolls to share for two. This restaurant uses purple rice rather than traditional white rice. This was the first time we have tried a sushi roll made with purple rice and we both loved it. It added a nutty flavor and hearty texture. Purple rice is similar to wild rice and far nutritionally superior to white rice with more antioxidant and fiber. Shortly after we ordered we were served a potsticker dish. I mentioned that we did not order the item and were informed the appetizer was complementary. We thanked the server and tasted the dish. The potstickers were nicely pan fried and had a great crust and flavorful chicken filling. Delicious! About five minutes later our rolls were delivered. All were fresh tasting and delicious. Our favorite was the Salmon Lemon roll. We loved the pop the lemon added. Honorable mentions to the Spicy Tuna roll, very well done, excellent balance of heat and flavors. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended for a quality sushi experience!

I was dining solo and had no trouble finding a seat since there's plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. That said, I was surprised by how quickly the place started filling up after opening, which is always a good sign. One of the first things I noticed was the large sushi bar and being able to watch the sushi chefs at work. There were five of them, which I took as a sure sign this place gets busy. I ordered the spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and steamed edamame. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what I was hoping for. One unique thing about Kodo is their rice blend. They use a combination of black and white rice, which gives the sushi a distinctive purple color. It's not something you see every day, and it definitely makes their sushi stand out. I also have a food allergy, and the staff handled it carefully and without any issues. They offer fountain drinks, which I always prefer. And I liked their plastic to-go container. It kept my leftovers from getting soggy by next day. Easy five stars.

The sushi itself was decent, nothing crazy, but definitely better than grocery store quality. The tuna and salmon pieces were a little fishy, maybe not the freshest, but it was also quite late (~10pm) so I wasn't expecting too much. Beautifully presented, and the cuts were quite large which was nice! The food came out pretty fast, and the service was pleasant. The restaurant vibes are pretty dark, and moody. Overall, I really enjoyed it, although the eel was probably my least favorite of the flight just personal preference. The crispy tuna rice was easily the star of the meal! Crispy, flavorful, and the textures worked so well together. I would 100% order that again. The ramen, however, was just okay for me. It wasn't bad or inedible, but the broth was lacking that rich, deep flavor I look for in a good bowl of ramen. A little more depth and seasoning would really take it to the next level. And the gyoza had just the right amount of kick to them. We had both the hamachi crudo and the halibut crudo. They were both delicious, but the hamachi was the standout. Hamachi is usually a little too fishy for me, but this just melted in my mouth and left me wanting more. We also had one of the specials, the 808 roll. It was topped with poke, and we would not let them take the plate until we'd scooped up every little morsel! Cocktails and service were excellent as well. The service- pretty poor. I was sat in the bar at the back but I basically sat there for a good 5 minutes and nothing. I went back up front and asked to sit at the bar and it was still pretty inattentive, especially considering no one else was even seated in the front room at the time. Never got my water refilled, had to flag them down to put in more food, that sorta thing. The vibes- thought the bar was pretty lit and is prob pretty fun during HH. The food- overpriced for what you get and portion size while the fish and flavors being a smidge above average. I left still hungry after getting the gold omakase, bad and buri roll, and hamachi crudo. The hamachi was the best part of the meal but I'd still expect at least 5 pieces for the price. Anyways, this spot will hit the spot if you have a sushi craving. I can't vouch for the drinks but I assume it more than checks the box in that regard judging by the menu, selection, and vibe. The appetizer was amazing, we each got the crispy rice and I love that each one was a different fish and slightly different flavor. I don't remember which roll we got, I think it was the blue dragon one, but that was delicious, good amount of rice and fish and great flavor. The truffle rib pasta was good as well, the short ribs were cooked perfectly and the flavor on that was insane. I do wish that they would've tossed the pasta in the same sauce the rib came in before adding it to the red pasta sauce. The pasta sauce itself lacked flavor and just tasted like blended down tomatoes. If the pasta had a scoop of the rib sauce too, that would be absolutely insane!! For dessert we didn't have a choice and it was just the miso caramel cheesecake. Now that is some of the best cheesecake I've had in an incredibly long time. I don't taste the miso flavor in the caramel besides the salty sweetness of it but that combo was perfect, especially with the homemade candied pecans. I don't know if the cheesecake was left out or purposefully like that but I love how when the cheesecake was served it wasn't cold! Usually cheesecake is served really cold and kind of like a cream cheese brick you have to cut into it with your fork. But this was barely chilled so the cheesecake was not super cold and it just melts in your mouth. It's so smooth, best dish of the night hands down. This place was very nice and great location. Everything is clean and a great ambience. There's a bar you can sit at when you walk in before you go to the tables. I do think that every side smaller table should automatically have the table lamp for light because it was just too dark to see the menu from my perspective. It looks like great lighting in the pictures because the phone took it in night mode and corrected the lighting but... it's a bit dark and I saw that they do have those modern battery table lamps so I think every table against the wall should have it. Now onto why it's only 4 stars. The service was so beyond incredibly slow. I kid you not we waited 35min at least before our first dish was served and it wasn't even the appetizer, it was the entree rib pasta. You could tell just how short staffed they were and you could hear that there's only 1 sushi chef 1 regular chef and that's it for the kitchen. I don't know who is managing the shift schedule, maybe it's because we came on Memorial Day, but this type of service is not acceptable. I don't take this on the employees at all. They were so incredibly nice and apologetic and doing the best they can and even the front of house was now bussing tables to help out!!! Because they're so busy, I had to keep reminding different waiters for small things like ginger for my sushi 3x, refill on my water, and he almost said we're good to go without paying the check but we didn't even receive our cheesecake dessert yet OR paid the bill. In total it took us 2 hours from sitting down, ordering within 5min, and waiting and waiting and waiting to eat... inexcusable on management
