I'm a total sucker for all-you-can-eat sushi, and thankfully my family is too. With a fair price and a huge menu, A Sushi is our go-to anytime we need a soy sauce fix. Even though it's busy almost every time we visit, the service is always attentive and quick, and somehow they always find a seat for us. One of my favorites is the Salmon Citrus roll with lemon. It's zippy, tangy, and super fresh. I'm also a big fan of their crab rangoon, which hits that perfect crispy, creamy balance. The highlight for the kids (and honestly for me too) is when they bring out the festive sushi boat with dry ice flowing around it. It feels like a whole production. And if you go for a birthday, get ready... they sing a hilariously adorable song while banging a drum. It's equal parts embarrassing and wonderful. My only small critique is the TVs all around the restaurant playing TBS and sports. It's not really the vibe I'm going for with sushi, but it definitely doesn't stop us from coming back. read more

I've been here about 6 times since they open and my previous experiences were good with friends & family. However, I hope these guys aren't getting super comfortable, as on this last trip of mine, there seems to be a decline in terms of the quality of food & service. The initial presentation of sushi to the table was still spot on, but I looked at my Sushi Boat, and most of the order was wrong. I do feel as though the service needs to engage with everyone a little bit more frequently throughout the experience. I struggled a bit to get clarification on my orders, refills of water, and the status of my round of items ordered. The non-sushi items from the kitchen were good, but they took much longer than usual, and when I got my soup, it was just "lukewarm". The price point continues to change, and I'm okay with that, but I do hope the level of customer service improves with it for everyone's experience. Honestly coming from the East Coast, I wasn't too sure about the AYCE out here but this place was pretty good! They had a bunch of veggie options and my sister said the sushi was good. The waiting staff was very friendly and the restaurant seemed clean. You can even order a presentation for your sushi rolls which make it a little more fun. I was so excited when this spot's portion sizes were not huge! I loved the toy decorated plate. We were able to try so many different items. Their sushi came in nice petite sizes and was not loaded with rice. Their appetizers were also tiny portions so we got to try so many options, loved their fried chicken and beef rib. All of their sushi rolls were tasty, Green Dragon was probably our favorite. The nigiris were also tasty. We also ended with one of each of the ice cream, loved the cookies and vanilla. We came here for our holiday sushi fix as Sakura sushi was not open. The decor was chill, modern pan Asian and lots of booth seating options. We were shown to a booth close to the sushi bar and it actually felt very intimate and secure despite being one of a dozen diners. The wait staff, Justin greeted us immediately and gave us a sense of the parameters for AYCE . We put it a page of orders and the seaweed salad came out immediately as well as the shrimp tempura. Both were excellent. Seaweed salad was ample, nicely seasoned with a few sesame seeds . Then the rolls. I started with nigiri. NB here the rolls are singles, not pairs which is fine. The whitefish was creamy and delicious . Salmon was equally good. My daughter ordered a Kano salad which I'd not heard of, Evidently she'd had it in nyc and had not seen it since. It beat our expectations...thinly sliced surimi cucumbers and ? Cabbage? In a dressing. It was very good! Then a volcano roll, which came in a boat with ice and steaming away from a pour of water into dry ice. Very dramatic and way cool. I noticed our server, Justin was right on the spot with the next round of sushi as soon as our plates were finished. Also, he handed everything to us with both hands, a two handed gesture of honor that I truly appreciated. Justin topped our visit and now ASushi is on my favorites list. They also serve soju!!!! A Sushi Grill in Tempe is a dangerous place if you lack self control, which I clearly do. The theatrical sushi boats alone are reason enough to come here. They show up like a parade and immediately convince you that ordering less food would be a mistake. The nigiri is fresh and well done, the noodle soups are comforting and hit the spot, and the chicken wings are unexpectedly excellent. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely not an afterthought. I've been here about 10 times since this restaurant opened, it used to be really good (quality, service, etc.). Now, they've raised the prices, brought in iPads to do the ordering. I don't mind a change in technology, but they're constantly losing our tickets or just not bringing half of the food that's on the ticket and when notified saying they'll bring it right out and 20min later it's still not out. The service is also not doing well either. I've been here multiple times with a big family and constantly have to ask a random server to refill waters since the one at my table is nowhere in sight. If you're going to continue to raise the prices and I'm paying $500 for table's meals, I expect good service and at minimum, the food I order. read more

Cutting it thinner means you have more room to try more assortment and variety but I also hate it because service can be slow during the busier lunch/dinner times and the thin cuts can leave you wanting. This place never fails to meet all expectations. When they say all you can eat they really mean it. I'm a salmon sashimi lover and I can eat it here all day long. The quality is pretty top tier too for all you can eat. Shoot this place beats out a lot of high end sushi places too when it comes to quality. Took us long enough to try A sushi and grill. Restaurant looked very clean when walking in and taking a look around. Sushi was great, I took a star off due to the gentleman behind the counter. Placed a pick up order that wasn't ready yet. After I paid, he told me to have a seat and he would bring it over to me. I sat down for 10, maybe 15 more mins and he still didn't come by. So my 20 minute order is now going on 35 minutes. I went back to the counter to check if the food was ready and find out it was sitting there and he never bothered to bring it over after having me sit in the other room. Poor customer service on their part and he didn't even apologize. Now onto the sushi: We tried their sweet potato roll, golden California roll, popcorn lobster roll, and the Arizona roll. The sweet potato was fried perfectly, crispy and warm. Loved the little fried lobster pieces, they paired well with each bite of sushi. I've been here for both lunch and dinner. Lunch was more relaxed and our orders came out pretty quickly. When we went on a weekend for dinner it was pretty busy and while our servers were good at checking up on us, about half of our dishes took a while to get to us since it was so busy. There were even a few of our orders from the kitchen that we never got before we got full and it was time to get the check. Your first selections will typically come out on an amazing looking decorated boat complete with atmospheric mist from some dry ice. They have several different types of boats, each one really unique and beautiful. On our first visit we got a bonsai boat and the second we got a Disneyfied Snow White and Minion boat. We spied some other elaborate boats too like a green dragon boat and seashell boat. The quality of the sushi is good for all you can eat. Since it's made to order it's nie to know it hasn't been sitting out for a long time like at sushi buffets. The rolls and nigiri are smaller than at a non-AYCE restaurant and the pieces are also sliced thinner. There is also a good selection of non sushi food as well, such as noodles, rice, gyoza, and meat skewers. Note that you have to eat all the food at your table otherwise you will get charged a fee. There's also a decent selection of sushi that is not raw, such as the Las Vegas and avocado roll. read more

7.13.25 - my mom wanted to try this place for dinner after seeing a video of it online somewhere and because my brother told her it was good. Two of us got the sashimi deluxe $40.99 and one got $32.99. Honestly, I don't feel sashimi deluxe was worth it and felt it was overpriced. Quality was meh. The waitress was nice but service got a bit slow later on. The first order of sashimi and nigiri came out on a platter with a bit of presentation. Thats cool but that was it. Some of the fish had a bit of chew to them and some were slightly fishy. The udon had a nice smokey flavor to it. I mostly ate yellowtail carpaccio and seaweed salad the rest of the time there. It was our first time here and we did the sashimi deluxe. The sashimi was fresh. The rolls were decent. We got the seafood dynamite, dragon roll and sexy roll. The sexy roll which was our least favorite, it had too much cream cheese. Since we did the sashimi deluxe we were able to choose 2 items off the little premium deluxe menu and chose the snow crab legs and wagyu beef nigiri. The snow crab legs were delicious and a generous amount. When we want to splurge again on sushi, we'll definitely be back here. The servers were nice and quick. read more

I've had a couple friends recommend A Sushi and I finally decided it was time. Fellow Yelper Derek Y came along and we had the best time! Just as a reminder- a 5 star review for me doesn't mean a place is fancy or the best of. To me, that's 5 stars. Every place starts as 5 and I just remove stars if needed. Otherwise, I want to be positively reviewing places, I'm no hater ;) For an AYCE sushi restaurant I thought everything was tasty and good quality. In general I don't go to an all you can eat place with the expectation of the best sushi I've ever had. I prefer to go to higher end sushi restaurants looking to have those experiences. However, every once in a while I like to enjoy a good old fashioned "stuff my face with sushi" fest, and A Sushi was a great place for it. Service was very speedy and friendly. The restaurant is clean and open layout. It was surprisingly busy to us. We came about 30 minutes after opening and already plenty of people there, and it continued to get busier during our time there. I liked almost everything I had. I didn't enjoy the ground up tuna (it's so red) and artificial looking so I didn't want to eat much of that. I wouldn't order that again. Otherwise I liked the apps, rolls, nigiri, and the beef short rib was very tasty, the meat was surprisingly tender. I was also glad that the sushi rolls weren't jammed packed with too much rice as a filler. All in all it was great. I fully enjoyed the presentation of the sushi boat. My new favorite AYCE location. The fish to rice portions are GREAT in the rolls and nigiri, there is no order limit, and your first round always comes out on a cute little display! Both the lunch and dinner menus are a pretty good deal, but anything beyond the actual fish is much to write about. The servers are very busy like other AYCE locations, so we just make sure that we have our next order written up and ready to go so there is not that long of a wait to the next round. The restaurant is very busy and can get quite lively, but it's part of what makes this place so fun. read more

In a pinch because we were hungry and wanted some pot stickers (gyozo) we found this place as about the only place still open. We placed our order to go and I went to pick it up. They gave us a free item, I think because, we spent a certain amount (you just don't see that EVER) and that was cool. When I got there I really wished we would have just gone and dinned in because the place was very cool. It seemed inviting and friendly and the other folks there eating all seemed to really be enjoying themselves. They appeared to have a full sushi bar with a couple of chefs preparing and there were even a couple of TV's to enjoy a game. The seating was plenty and the decor was very very cool and nice. When I got home, we began to eat and the food was pretty much outstanding, even with it being takeout. The wasabi was very kicky (if that's a word) so beware but everything was very enjoyable. A good AYCE sushi spot. For what it is, you get a good selection of food items ranging from appetizers, salad/soups, grilled items, noodle soup, and the sushi items. There are two options you can have for everyone at the table: Sushi Lover ($31.99) and Sashimi Deluxe ($40.99). The Sashimi Deluxe includes everything on the menu plus the addition of sashimi. The quality was decent, but very tasty and thick. There was no bad odor to any of the meats and all tasted good. Not the best AYCE sushi I have had but for the area this is one of the best. I wish they had more variety of sushi rolls and a more unique taste to them. A lot consisted of imitation crab and cream cheese as filler. On the plus side, their presentation for the sashimi is astonishing. All the staff were very friendly. Our server was attentive despite the busy night and always on top of things. Alright you guys me and the other half decided to go for his early birthday dinner here and let me tell you it was a great experience. We tried a good part of the menu. We started with some appetizers a few sushi rolls just a great mixture of different items. The quality of the sushi and the freshness of ingredients was amazing. I loved everything we tried. The service was good our server was friendly and on top of refills for the drinks. I did notice that it was very well light up when you're coming and in dining area. Came here for a buddy's birthday on a Friday evening. Pretty busy, but the wait wasn't too bad for our group (15-20 mins). We all opted for the Sashimi Deluxe tier and ordered our hearts out. Each table gets one special display platter so that was a neat spectacle. Quality was decent and service was passable. We ordered past our physical limits and were hurting when we left. They have a very loud and fun birthday announcement, but our friend wouldn't let us get him one. Probably won't be back as there are more favorable AYCE sushi places in my opinion. read more
