Yes. Yes yes yes. Poke Wave is amazing. Family owned and super friendly, it's an easy-to-miss shop tucked away into the Fry's plaza. Honestly, it's the best and freshest poke bowl I've had to date. The guy and I were in search of a relatively healthy lunch after binging at Friendsgiving the day before, which led us to Poke Wave. We both built our own bowls; though I was tempted to get a burrito for the cute little box alone... I'm a sucker for cool packaging, though. I stuck with half spring mix half brown rice, though I was intrigued by the citrus kale salad as an option, with salmon and spicy tuna. Truly the freshest and biggest chunks of salmon I've had in Arizona, save for maybe at Chula Seafood in Scottsdale (also highly recommend!!). I loved the combo of sriracha mayo and yuzu ponzu that I went with, and really like that there are a lot of sauces to choose from--I'm a sauce fiend, I can't help it. Everything was amazing, and definitely good portion sizes. Also, huge bonus that they offer mango as a topping! Yumyumyum. The dude loved that they were super knowledgable about which items are gluten-free, since he's allergic. They denote the items on the counter and on the large menu, but also reminded him as they were moving down the line and he found that really helpful, as a person that gets really excited about food and maybe forgot a handful of times that the asterisks meant he couldn't have those items. He agreed that it was probably the best poke bowl he's ever had, and the boy loves him some poke. He also really liked that they had a number of island-y iced teas to choose from and said his was excellent. The crowning jewel though? DOLE WHIP! Holy mamajama. The guy had NEVER had Dole Whip before and didn't understand my excitement or why I kept yelling "DOLE WHIP!!" so naturally I forced him to share one with me, and changed his life. Ugh, it's so beautiful and perfect. I'll definitely have to return, to try a burrito one day and get my poke and Dole Whip fixes. This poke place is not just an ordinary place. It has more than just regular salad. I would recommend their citrus kale salad with your mix ins. They have a lot of other topping options to choose for your salad. You can make your own salad or choose their signature bowls. They do have their regular sauces for your salad but you can ask them for suggestions for tasty sauce combinations with your salad. They do have sushi burritos as well. You can either make your own or choose from their signature sushi burritos. The miso soup is also very good and comforting. In my opinion, it is the best one in the east valley. I tried all the options for these and honestly none were disappointing, but my favorites are the sake-soy beef (Honua) and the baked salmon (Kukui). There is definitely a wave of poke restaurants cascading throughout the Phoenix area and I'm not complaining! I was super hungry and a bit brain dead so I appreciated that there are pre-set options for poke bowls for those that don't feel like making a custom bowl. I went with the Aloha Classic, 3 scoops with spring salad. The classic comes with ahi tuna, onion, green onion, sesame seeds, red pepper flake, and classic Hawaiian shoyu. Not a bad combo at all! It was made in a speedy amount of time and I did add a few extra toppings (Cucumber kimchi, nori seaweed). I enjoyed the bowl for the most part. The greens and fish were fresh and the toppings plentiful. The flavors all complimented each other well. The bowl was overdressed though, drenched in sauce so on some bites of salad all I could taste was the salty shoyu and nothing else. Eating 3 scoops of poke plus the salad base didn't quite fill my stomach up for lunch though so I had to scrounge for some more stuff to snack on afterwards. Service was friendly and quick. I'll be back for more poke bites but I will ask for a lighter amount of sauce next time. Since we have no beaches here in AZ to surf any waves I will settle for riding poke waves! read more

It's usually on days when I take cycle class and I don't want to eat back the calories I just burned. With that said, I was actually heading next door at Fry's to buy some cojita cheese for a Cinco de Mayo elote chip dip when I saw the light. Like a moth, I was drawn towards it. After poking my head inside, I learned that they were open for business. Whoa! I was just trying to creep around! This place is heavily Korean influenced, rightfully so since the owners are Korean, and I love it. The kimchi cucumber is a great addition and the rice puff topping is fun. They offer a citrus kale salad base which is a nice option than the usual typical spring mix. Get white rice, brown rice, half-and-half, or a salad. They have a huge selection for toppings, sauces, and mix-ins. Go wild! The portions are generous and the protein is fresh, even at 8ish at night. Their knife cuts are even. I love that they have mangoes, pineapple, corn, and jalapeños. I'm a sucker for some sweet and some heat. Make me burn, babie! It's $9.50 for two scoops of protein and $11.50 for three scoops. The dining space is cozy and they do offer some outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and very patient. There were a lot of poke newbies inside and I don't think I heard even the slightest bit of irritation when they had to keep repeating and explaining things to customers. Poke is my new thing now and I am that kind of a person who loves freshness in my meal. That being said not a everyday salad person either. We happened to go to Fry's next door and saw this place popping with people. Thats when I was like we gotta try this place. We went for lunch and went with their baked salmon Kukui sushi burrito. There was a little bit of wait time but wasn't that long after all. The package is pretty impressive and how they have maintained the designs from their to go boxes to their chopsticks. The sushi burrito was pretty good except for the lettuce they used. It was a little more than required and I had to ignore it. I split the burrito with my friend and that half a burrito was not filling at all. I could easily eat whole of it. The salmon was good and so was the fillings. I liked the consistency and how the rice was not overpowering. The price is definitely on the higher side but totally worth it. This place is definitely going on my rotation. read more

I was lured in because of the unique and tantalizing waverritos, but now I'm hooked and riding the Poke Wave. Their waverritos are one-of-a-kind because they have cooked options like garlic salmon, sake-soy beef, and chicken karaage. I've had the kukui (garlic salmon) and honua (sake-soy beef) waverritos and they're both delicious, stuffed with a ton or toppings and unique to Poke Wave (at least in AZ as far as I'm aware). I like that they have more cooked options other than imitation crab, unlike most places, as my wife doesn't like the raw stuff. As for the poke itself, the fish quality is great and their portions are pretty big. They have a TON of toppings, to the point where I feel a little bad about getting all the items that I love. I really like their unique (again) base option of citrus kale salad - I love citrus, I love kale, and combined together it makes for a great bed for all that delicious raw fish and toppings. The service here is really great too. I came in one night and spoke to a man who I believe was the owner. I had asked if they could make a waverrito into a bowl per my wife's request, and he had no problems with it and told me as he was adding substitutes that would usually come with the waverrito, for instance throwing on some shredded seaweed on top to make up for the missing seaweed wrap among other things. The worker assembling my build-your-own bowl also didn't complain as I was adding more and more to my creation. It's a little bit further out than some of the other spots, but I think it's worth the extra couple cents in gas to come here. This is my favorite poke spot in the Valley at the moment, and probably for the foreseeable future. read more

Came in here for lunch with coworkers and we were all blown away. It wasn't too busy but there were a lot of people on and out with to go orders. It's not a huge shop but there are about 10 tables and a bar seating area. The menu is simple you can get a burrito or a bowl and you can order off the menu or build your own. The staff was amazingly friendly and took the time to walk us through the menu and options. I got the build your own bowl and it was UNREAL. My coworkers both got the Pele and dole whips. They raved over the Pele's immediately stating this needed to be a regular for us. I tried the dole whip and it was also amazing (which I already knew cause Disney lol). When I built my own they explained what everything was and were extremely helpful even suggested what would taste best together when I didn't know what sauce or seasoning to get. Once again, updating my review to 5 stars because this place freakin rocks. I absolutely love their sushi burritos and I've made my own each time I've gone in. My only concern was the lack of sauce but I've gotten soy sauce and their house sauces on the side, which has helped tremendously. And the customer service here is just so good! The folks are so friendly and the extra touch makes a difference; they wrap up my sauce so it doesn't leak on my way back. I can't get enough of their Hot Cheetos wrap, at one point it catches in my throat and makes me cough, but worth it. Thanks Poké Wave! I saw this on the Yelp top 50 places to eat in Phoenix, so made plan to come here for lunch when I was in the area for work. There are plenty of poke places in chandler but this was definitely one of the better ones! I got the make your own sushi burrito (as shown in photo). It came in a very innovative, cylindrical box. I was pretty fascinated with the packaging, I must admit. First time seeing it used. They had the necessary toppings and proteins, similar to a lot of the other places. This place was a bit on the more expensive side - mine with the avocado came out to almost 12 dollars. Despite the price, I would still come back for lunch once in a while. I normally love the poke bowls here, but when I went recently I got food poisoning from the Hawaiian tuna and had diarrhea 3x within 40 minutes while I was at work and lower abdominal pain. Delicious, healthy, and the best customer Service! My husband and I went here after grocery shopping at the Fry's next door. It's very similar to Subway let's say as you look at the menu order from one side walk across making selections and then pay at the end. I had absolutely no idea what most of the men you even said but the gentleman at the counter or was extremely nice, patient, and made suggestions knowing we were newcomers. Since the first time, we have returned a few more times and somehow they actually remember us! This just tells me that they care incredibly about their customers which is awesome! There are a number of poke/bowl/wrap spots along Ray Rd, but for bowls - Poke Wave is the best. (Edit: looks like they have poke burritos now!! Will have to try it and report back!) First off, the portions are generous. Having a square bowl allows for a bit more food than the round bowls at other places. There is a nice variety of proteins offered (including tofu for vegetarians!), and everything tastes really fresh. They put a lot of care and attention into the freshness of the fish and toppings and you can taste in in your dish. Every poke place is different and I love the unique toppings at Poke Wave, including the kimchi cucumber and fried garlic. Adds so much flavor and texture. Service was great and they offered to let me taste all of the sauces to best choose which one I'd like. It was hard to decide because they were all yummy. For drinks they have a variety Hawaiian canned juices and sodas, as well as fresh iced teas - unsweetened which is great because you can sweeten it to your own liking. I custom made my Bowl. I ordered the Large salad with two scoops of tako (octopus) and one scoop of tuna. The sauces I picked were the Spicy Seasame shoyu and lime ponzu. They have lots of toppings to choose from pineapple, mango, masago, cucumber, seaweed, dried garlic and onion and I forget the rest. Regular is $9.50 two scoops of protein Large is $11.25 three scoops of protein The two sauces mixed have my bowl a spicy/citrus taste. If you don't like spicy, do not try the spicy seasame shoyu! You can see and taste the freshness of the fish and they have a great selection of toppings for the poke bowl as well as a great assortment of fruity frozen yogurt including the always amazing "Dole Whip."
