My friend and I came by here last Friday after an event kinda nearby. My friend was looking for a…read morenoodle dish and I just wanted to try something different- Yelp to the rescue! So many things looked so good on the menu. I also let the server know that I was hungry too lol! They were quick bringing out the food. I belive Dhillon was our server and he was great too. He helped us narrow down our choices. My friend and I shared the coconut chicken curry pot which was flavorful and had a great balance of meat, noodles, etc. Dhillon suggested sharing it as it was a good size and I'm glad we did. We also shared the tofu salad which was nice and flavorful and also the sweet potato rolls and green tea cheese cake. The only suggestion I would make is maybe putting a small bit of vanilla ice cream with the cheesecake instead of whip cream. My friend and I both thought that combo would hit the spot. Oh they also have a happy hour that starts at 9pm too. I think one of out items might have been off thr happy hour. Overall price was reasonable too. I will definitely be back!

The food was actually very good, which makes the experience even more disappointing because the…read moreservice was absolutely horrible. We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.

It sucks don't come here…read more For those that kept reading, it's amazing. It's basically din tai fung without being surrounded with insufferable people. My favorite is actually the lu rou which is a very home style recipe that I crave frequently and it's executed perfectly every time. The dan dan noodles are very authentic but I prefer Americanized. If you like Szechwan peppers then it might be a dish for you. Obviously the soup dumplings are the highlight and rightfully so.

We started with the cucumber salad, which was wonderfully crisp and refreshing, followed by the spicy wontons. Those were a particular highlight, with a beautifully aromatic sauce featuring an almost licorice-like herbal note and just enough heat to keep things interesting. The chicken xiao long bao were delicate, savory, and filled with flavorful broth. We also tried the sheng jian bao combo, which had pillowy-soft tops and beautifully crisp, sesame-studded bottoms without any excess oiliness. The restaurant can get busy, but the kiosk waitlist makes the process straightforward, and service was attentive once seated. A satisfying little dumpling destination that punches well above its price point!

For years I have driven 25 minutes for takeout and never regretted it. High decor -No, limited selections -No, quiet -No, great food -Absolutely, incredibly friendly and pleasant staff -100%. Our typical order is a large General Chicken with extra sauce and Malaysian fun chow. The general chicken is perfectly breaded, deliciously flavored, slight bite and an uncious taste making you want more. The Malaysian fun chow has wok fried wide rice noodles with a hint of char, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, veggies and a light but savory taste. Another home run! Don't let the exterior or inside decor persuade your judgement. Hands down the staff is second to none and the food is fabulous. Asian Cafe Express is an incredible value for the food quality and portion size. Trust me, if you give them a shot, you will also be ordering here for years. To the staff, fabulous job and thanks!

A Mesa Asian District Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Asian Cafe Express is a lovely strip mall gem near H-Mart in Mesa's Asian District, and after 21 years in business, it clearly has a loyal following for good reason. We brought in a fresh lobster from H-Mart to try their "bring your own seafood" cooking option and chose the garlic onion stir fry preparation. It's $14.99 for anything under 2 lbs and $7.50/lbs for anything over. It came out excellent, served over crispy egg noodles with classic Asian flavors and plenty of wok-fired goodness. We also enjoyed the Peking pork ribs, which were deboned, tasty, and slightly sweet; the stir-fried green beans, which were fresh and well prepared; and the garlic spicy chicken wings, which were especially flavorful and highly recommended. The red bean drinks were traditional and satisfying, with soft, nicely soaked mung beans and no milk. Service was friendly, efficient, and personal, handled by a couple of ladies who clearly know the restaurant and their customers well. While we were there, plenty of regulars came in for takeout and several tables were happily dining in. Overall, we really enjoyed Asian Cafe Express and were surprised we had not stopped in sooner. Highly recommend, especially for the "bring your own seafood" cooking option and the garlic spicy wings. We will definitely be back.

Starting with the additional parking on the side next to the hotel... it's not clean, rough pavement and it doesn't give a good first impression. To our surprise, when we entered, it wasn't crowded at all & there was plenty of seating everywhere. Our host was not very welcoming and chose to sit us literally right next to another couple, even with so many open tables. Then we were shocked and disgusted to see a dead bug on our table (roach-like)... everyone was horrified, and that was the deal breaker. When they tried to move us to another table, I knew right then and there that the experience was already done for us. There was no way to get that visual out of our heads and try to eat any food. Just a really bad experience and definitely concerning when it comes to the cleanliness of the tables. It also made us question the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. That was just too obvious to miss or ignore.

I just came here on a whim since it was across from a place I was getting out of. They have a decently sized dining area. When I went it was completely empty. By impression, I thought it was a boba place considering the name but it's more of a restaurant. I asked if they had certain drinks but the girl working up front wasn't familiar and I noticed everything seems to just be powder. The menu for all the drinks also sounds like it would all come from powder so I wouldn't really come here just for drinks again. Surprisingly the red milk tea I ordered wasn't bad, it just tastes like a default milk tea. Boba was decent too. It's just not my cup of tea as I like more authentic drinks.
