I've been to henhouse many times and it is always top-notch with their food. It is so good. We went on a Saturday and we got seated in about five minutes. They have opened up the restaurant to make more room for seating which I thought was amazing. The staff was all very kind and helpful. The establishment inside was clean. All I can say is WOW...and...if you're watching your cholesterol this may not be the meal for you! lol! This breakfast was DELICIOUS! So full of flavor. I had a very pleasant experience here. Arrived on a Saturday around 11am You could tell it was the end of the breakfast rush, we were sat right away. Heard the server said 0930 is their busiest. Tables a bit small so I could see someone with a taller bigger frame may not like that. The house coffee was good black, well bodied. We weren't offered top offs so idk if that would have been extra. My bf got their strawberry filled French toast that he really enjoyed. We both don't like overly sweet things and it was just at the right spot. I got the mini blueberry pancakes, and I really enjoyed them! Full of flavor, dense and airy all at the same time, and they are huge, def can split that. We got a side of eggs and bacon- basic. Extra charge for the whip cream, only 99c but it would have been nice to know when being offered. Our server was nice and friendly. My only critiques would be I wish they blasted the AC a bit more, coming in from the heat, I want to be able cool down before enjoying my hot breakfast. Lol One cup had a lipstick stain, even tho I'm sure it was clean an extra wipe down would have been nice. The bucket of creamers had an empty old one in there lol so just a bit more attention to a small detail like that. Other than that, we were pleasantly surprised with our visit and both would come back. From previous reviews I think just be aware that way you can fully enjoy your visit. Not very accommodating nor customer friendly. The food was okay but way too much for everyone at the table. Such a waste!! I asked if I could order half a Belgian waffle and the answer was no. When you arrive while it's still dark out, look for the "open" sign, they're open! That's a great thing because it's . Service is 5 star , pleasant, attentive & helpful. Sitting at the counter allowed me the joy of hearing the Chef (John's) music, his Playlist is excellent & I really appreciated it, almost as much as the delicious breakfast he makes. Cute place for breakfast and lunch. Met my ex-coworker here for lunch. For food we ordered - mix of food. My friend ordered the cinnamon bun plus eggs/bacon. I ordered the BLTA as the cheese for the grilled cheese was limited (no Swiss for me). The BLTA was delicious. The tomato bisque was underwhelming and cold. Enjoyed breakfast at the henhouse. I had the corned beef hash and my husband had the machaca beef skillet along with orange juice and coffee. The orange juice was fantastic and tasted freshly squeezed, the coffee was just ok. Our server was super sweet and allowed me to switch the bread to a small pancake for a small upcharge. The pancake was HUGE and delicious. It had a cinnamon flavor that reminded me of snicker doodle...so yummy! Lots of ample seating throughout the restaurant. My sister (from 2 different states) and I were in town for a funeral and met another sister for what we hoped would be a quiet lunch. Instead, before we could even finish ordering drinks, the owner, who makes sure you know he's connected to Major League Baseball, plopped down at our table and began what can only be described as a one-man podcast. Topics included: how terrible COVID was for his business, how bird flu and egg prices are the fault of Joe Biden, how wonderful life is now, how harmless Donald Trump's "stupid tweets" are, and a detailed update on the impressive size of his children's trust accounts. Because nothing says "enjoy your lunch" like a financial portfolio recap. We were clearly trying to have a private conversation with lunch, I attempted to redirect. I tried polite cues. I even tried silence. None of it worked. The monologue continued uninterrupted, apparently powered by pure self-congratulation. For the record, we did not ask for a political lecture. We asked for iced tea. After two sips, I left $2 on the table and walked out. It was the most peaceful part of the experience. If you're looking for food and conversation with your own tablemates, you may want to try somewhere that understands the concept of hospitality and indoor voices. read more

The girl on the phone seemed like a robot with a script. Then I went in to order asked for a drink menu and they said they don't have one. No iced coffees or flavored coffees. Got regular coffee, no stirrers. Service was mediocre and unfriendly. Signs everywhere about all their restaurant rules add to the unwelcoming feel of this place. Would have given them a break if the food was competent but it disappointed. We got croissant breakfast sandwiches. Flavor ok but greasy as f. Accompanying potatoes almost had the right texture but they were dry and bland. The lady taking the order made a big deal of asking how we wanted our eggs cooked on the sandwich. I said over medium. Taking a bite, yolk ran down into my hair and on my shirt. How does one get yolk in her hair from an over medium egg? Trick question, over medium eggs shouldn't have runny yolks. Had brunch with friends at this location on Sunday and woo was this place busy. We arrived at 11:45am and there was a wait. We were told about 30 minutes or so which we didn't think was bad as we thought it was going to be longer. My name was called out when our table was ready and we were seated. I had the Grandpa skillet and it wasn't what I expected. It had no flavor and was very bland. I basically used the whole bottle of Tabasco and salt to give it some flavor. My friend said the veggie skillet was also the same way and she found that it had no flavor. The chicken entrée was the best out of the group and the chicken tasted amazing. If I were to go again, I would order this. We originally decided on having brunch here because of the big ol pancake we have seen all over social media. When ordering it, the server let us know that it was huge and it was more for a group of 10 or more people. Good thing we listened to him and went with the short stack because we ended up sharing it and we still had a few slices left over. Portion for kids meal wasn't impressive for the cost either. If you want to add chocolate chips to pancakes they charge you an extra $1 too! When we just wanted water, and didn't order drinks, it was obvious the girl was annoyed. When I ordered the chicken fried chicken, the girl tried to sneak in another charge by asking me if I wanted extra gravy for my biscuit. Don't ask me things if it's not included. They forgot to bring out one persons meal at our table. We had to flag down a girl to get her to find the meal. The check came out and it's one of the systems that the waitress stands and watches you pay and tip. Super awkward. Also they have tip options starting at 20% on tax! Be careful. My wife and I have been going to the Hen House for quite a few years, but the quality of what we've been ordering for years seems to dropped off. I ordered a Belgium waffle with eggs over easy and sausage. I was brought my over easy eggs first, with a promise the rest of my breakfast was coming. About 4 minutes later, the rest of my food arrived. I slid my eggs atop my waffle and sliced into them both. The yolk in the eggs had congealed by now. The waitress offered to replace my eggs. I asked her to please take the breakfast back so it all could return hot together. (I prefer to eat my breakfast food all together, not separately.) She seemed to struggle with what to do. When my breakfast was returned, my waffle was quite doughy in parts (just like my wife's waffle), and the patty sausage was too hard to "cut" with my fork. Our family tried this Henhouse cafe location recently and thought it was just okay. Let's start with the positive side. Staff members were lovely! Engaging, proactive and helpful. One staff member realized that our kids were waiting awhile for food and starting to get antsy so she brought over a little cup of fruit. That tamed my baby's hunger over until the food came. Truly appreciated and we felt seen by the sweet gesture. Wait wasn't long at all. They do seat all table guests at the same time so make sure you all arrive on time to not delay the process even further. We ordered biscuits and spicy gravy (with extra on the side as per other reviewers advance) , huevos rancheros and a kids breakfast. The biscuits and gravy was okay- my husband didn't need the extra gravy. Huevos rancheros was delicious but was missing the refried beans. That was disappointing. I tried to tell a staff member but she thought the potatoes were the refined beans . I wasn't in the mood to push it further. The kids enjoyed their meal so that's a plus. They also enjoyed the novelty of the extra large pancake. Would I write home about this place? No however, I'd maybe come back to try something else on the menu. read more

What a cute spot! We just stepped in for breakfast because it sounded good and we were starving. The atmosphere is really cute, with a farmhouse vibe and the service was really nice. We had MyLinh and she was friendly, attentive and helpful. The food was pretty good. My Mom got the two egg breakfast with bacon. I tried a bite and we both agreed it was good but not great. I ordered the Beyond Grilled Cheese which was great. The dish comes with Tomato Basil Bisque which is what made the dish so good. Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup is one of the best culinary combos. When we got to the Henhouse Cafe it was BUSY but someone told us you can sit in the back at the bar & since it was just the 2 of us we hopped on it!! It was also fun to watch the business of the staff!! It is a pretty small place so be ready for that. We did not get the huge pancake but holy it looked great!! I ordered their biscuits and gravy ((most recent obsession)) and my hubs got the croissant sandwich. We loved their breakfast potatoes, I ordered mine extra crispy. Loved them!! A local favorite for breakfast! In a world of "shrink-flation" it's so nice to see a restaurant that doesn't follow that trend! The portions were HUGE! Bring your appetite. We have the Small stack of pancakes and the biscuits &gravy breakfast. WOW so much food. Both were great and $13-14 each. We really could have shared but wanted to try both.
