Came in Friday night 3-13 sat down waited for service. There was two girls at the beverage station yakking away to bartenders also talking pretty good crowd waited 20 minutes at a table for service and ended up walking out. I will not come back to this location ever again. read more

Went to SVE location for breakfast, was greeted by an angry waitress who insisted we leave immediately. We were with our SERVICE DOG. We tried to explain he was a service dog and have documentation, she would not hear it and insisted we leave now. She then said we were trespassing. So I called the police. The officer told me she just did not want the dog there. She violated all kinds of laws. I just decided to drop it and never to go back. read more

For date night, we decided to check this place out. We live on the other side of University, so it was really close to our house. Driving up we noticed that the parking lot is just outside of the guard entrance to the community, which is nice, so we didn't have to go through the gate. It was really busy that night, as the playoffs were on the big screens, so the atmosphere was really charged. We were seated by the door to the golf course, so there was a very chilly breeze every time the door opened, but we didn't mind. I had a Vodka Cranberry, and my husband had a Jack and Coke, we made it in just before Happy Hour ended, so the first round was discounted. I ordered the Avocado Turkey Wrap with a side of potato salad and my husband ordered the Nacho platter. The food came out pretty quickly and we were able to watch the game and eat. My wrap was absolutely delicious, I completely devoured it. The potato salad was just right, and the flavors really popped. The nacho platter was huge for one person, we could very easily have split that. Service was excellent, and the other patrons were really nice, one lady from a table next to us came over to say hello and make sure that we were not bothered by their request to raise the volume on one of the TV's. We were enjoying the game as well, so it was no problem. It was nice to have a great conversation with another patron. Made the experience just that much better. We will definitely come back again. SVE, needs to find a new tenant. The chips were stale, salsa was plain from a jar. And I waited way to long to get my burger after watching a table of six that seated after me get served their food. Friends in the Sunland neighborhood suggested we go down to the golf course club house and eat at Fat Willy's. They said the food is very good. Food is good but not great. It's American style diner food. Not a lot of options, per se, but they do have some healthy lite menu items as well. I would liken them to a Village Inn with a limited menu. They have a couple of TVs in the restaurant bar area so folks can watch golf and other sports. I will give them props because the service was fantastic. read more

Was visiting a relative in Sunland and called for a take-out order for several sandwiches with fries. We arrived to pick up and was told by bartender our order wasn't ready. We sat in a booth to wait. About 10 minutes later our order was brought out. When we opened it back at the house just around the corner, everything was cold. The bread on Reuben was soggy with very little meat or kraut. The Philly cheesesteak didn't have enough meat to fill the bun. For the price, everything was horrible and lacked quality. I came here once with a neighbor about a min ago - it was a quaint experience. I arrive today to place a 'To Go' order - I was told to place the order at the bar. Waited at the bar (standing room only) until I yelled at the staff member just to get a memo. Another 10min just for me to get her attention to place an order. Worst restaurant ever. Aged and well-worn decor. Food is hit or miss, mostly miss. Much better burgers at any similar restaurant/bar in East Mesa. Not exactly spotless. Need to check silverware. Service is poor to middling. Nevertheless, has opened to boisterous crowds. No social distancing. No masks. Restaurant was provided with free masks and servers refuse to wear them. Visited this afternoon, very disappointed in service. Food was good but portion sizes were small. Very expensive, not worth the money.

We attended the Hoe Down at Fat Willey's Saturday evening in Sunland Village East and all I can say is that the food service was very poor. Even though we bought tickets ahead of time and chose the entrees ahead of time the food didn't come out in a timely manner. We sat at a table of six and my husband and I got our food at least an hour before the other four people sitting with us. The restaurant knew ahead of time how many people were attending and yet they basically had two servers who were actually trying to take care of the drinks and getting the food outside. One bartender was on duty and one young girl trying to check people in for their meal. If you want to have these sort of functions then you need to have proper staffing and a better system for serving food. I can only imagine what the service will be when the winter snowbirds return. We were there with a party of 10 and wanted to sit outside and was told we would have a 15 min wait. There were tables that we were told were for a different party and we were told no reservation. People were being seated and we still were waiting, after 30min we were told they didn't have a table big enough for us and they couldn't move chairs.We saw 6 different people come in and take chairs from other tables to join there group. I said we would take 2 tables for our party, even went to see about eating inside but after 45min,4 of our friends left and my husbond was one of them.We were got a table after a few more min, things got better and we ordered and finely got our food. the friends that left felt disrespected and won't go back, we are full time people and live in the village.
