Our server, Rexy, was super friendly and attentive. She was especially sweet to our 92-year-old mom. Don ordered from the new spring menu, the chimichurri steak & egg hash. Tons of flavor! Two of us got the soup of the day, which was a wonderful vegetable and tomato based soup. We also got the blueberry lemon cornbread to share. It was amazing! One of my favorite French toasts options of all time right here! The tart yet sweet lemon curd mixed with blackberry and cookie crumble on top is fantastic. Service was spectacular, servers are beyond sweet and accommodating, HOWEVER something is off in the kitchen. I ordered a regular Eggs Benedict with the side of mixed greens, and my mom ordered the chorizo omelette with potatoes and sourdough toast as well as the million dollar bacon. When we first sat down our two coffee mugs were dirty, apart from that the restaurant was nice and clean and like I said super sweet accommodating servers they got us new mugs right away. The only good food that we got sadly was the toast with jelly and the bacon, my moms omelette and potatoes were cold and not all of the potatoes were cooked all the way, my eggs Benedict was just all around bad, its like they just put lunch meat on it and then lemon they put on there doesnt compliment anything its just random, the egg whites werent cooked enough they were watery still it was all just genuinely inedible and again, cold. The side of mixed greens tasted like they weren't washed and they give u the tiniest bit of vinegarette on there I felt like a rabbit eating ts. Server comped the Benedict which was nice. This is not my usual location when I've gone to First Watch, and boy was I impressed with this gorgeous layout! The one on Signal Butte is nice, but I really like this location of Val Vista. The thing all of their locations I have been to have in common is spectacular fresh food and amazing juices! This is one of my favorite brunch places when needing a place more in town as I do my best to support local businesses. Pro tip: you can check yourself online so you wait less time in the actual restaurant. I will do that when I know they are at a 30+ minute wait time on Saturdays or Sundays. Lastly, this is my favorite kind of breakfast/brunch spot - they leave you will a carafe of coffee! You can drink as much as you like without worrying about your cup running empty! Service is always great with other beverages too, so you aren't trying to flag someone down for a refill. Best First Watch I've ever been to. The staff were so friendly and service was perfect. Very clean and spacious.

The food was not there best. We've had this at the McKellips location and it was delicious. This time the quesadillas was not great in flavor at all,with very little meat. The million dollar potato's were very sweet with some sort of gooey cheese that was not very good. The only thing I enjoyed was my morning meditation drink. Service wasn't all that good also. He brought out sticky drinking glasses and the water has some sort of debris in it. Won't be coming back to this location anytime soon. read more

We quite enjoyed this freshly made-to-order breakfast spot. First Watch has a few locations. This location is in Mesa. Upon entering, the restaurant was bustling. They had an efficient host who got folks seated in a swift and organized way. Our waitress was welcoming and efficient. First Watch had advertising for their "Tangerine Dream." A freshly squeezed drink with coconut milk but of course I ordered the "million dollar bloody." But honestly even that tasted "freshly made-to-order." Our meals were aesthetically pleasing and belly pleasing. I got their fancy avocado sand-which with butter grits, while hubs enjoyed a waffle, sausage and egg combo. Especially if you're just going to be on your phone, then there's no point in being there. The food was not bad but the water tasted like straight tap water. Small problems during my visit- 1. My parents are older and they need booths. The host tried to seat us in a table which was fine, but gave an excuse as to why we couldn't have an open booth. I understood because I have experience in this industry, however, other guests wouldn't understand that. 2. Some creamer spilled on my dad's plate because my mom and dad didn't have a hold on the plate. Precious time wasted cleaning that up. 3. My partner specified details of his dish, yet, it was not fulfilled. This shows me the cooks in the back either made a small mistake or blatantly did not pay attention to detail. Despite all these, the experience was a nice one. I appreciated our server, for she was helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. The store was clean, organized, and was decorated nice. We came for lunch and a bit of business chat. The place was packed at 1130 but we were seated at a window booth. Water and coffee were immediate offerings which I was happy to see. Not just a glass of water but a 2 pint bottle placed at the table with iced glasses . Bravo The dining area is huge and airy, lots of windows and ambiant light. The aisles were wide and easily accessed. I ordered the salmon Benedict with side salad. It came after an appropriate wait . I'll always wait for freshly prepared good food. The two eggs were perfectly poached, runny yolks and white completely set. The hollandaise was lemony delicious. The salmon ( lox) under it all was equally good tho a bit scant. But I always love more fish ... the bread beneath was not standard English muffin but toasted rectangular bread, thin crisp and excellent pairing to stand up to the salmon, eggs and sauce. I loved every morsel of it and found myself scraping the plate with my fork tines to get all the hollandaise . The servers were happy and smiling, which makes me feel good too. Smiles are infectious! I've been to First Watch many times. Today's visit was with a large group of us- a Saturday morning hockey club. About 15 of us came to enjoy recharging, eating food, hanging with our buds. The staff was super gracious, setting up a long table where we could all be together and enjoy breakfast. The waitress took our drink orders quickly and we were getting drinks quickly. Love it. I ordered 2 poached eggs, a BLT sandwich, potatoe pan fries and toast. The eggs were perfect. The toast was warm and tasty. The panfried potatoes were excellent. The BLT was absolutely stellar. Everything arrived hot and was better than I expected. My son ordered a regular order of pancakes and a plate of million dollar bacon. I tried both as well. They were exceptional. The "regular " sized order of pancakes was two monstrous but fluffy pancakes. Love it. The prices were reasonable, and I had leftovers to bring home, such was the size of the portions. But the star of this location is the lovely staff. Our waitress endured our large crowd, flood orders, additional flood of custom requests and did it all with a genuine kindness and efficiency that made our visit a grwat experience. Love this place! First Watch on Val Vista has yet to steer us wrong. I think it's because we've cracked the code on some viable menu options! I suppose if I could complain about anything, it would be the opening hour of 7 a.m. I am one of those early risers, so I have to wait patiently for those first two hours of the day before opening hour. Never mind that, though. At First Watch, as the best breakfast places do, coffee is provided by the carafe. The menu is teeming with options, many of which are beyond excellent. As of late, I've been ordering the Triathlete Omelet; the wife likes the seasonal cinnamon pancake. As it happens, I also like the cinnamon pancake. As my better half can only get through a couple of bites, I get to enjoy the rest with my side of toast. It's a sweet deal! The Triathlete is good, too: Egg whites, crimini mushrooms, sides of fruit and wheat bread -- you can't go wrong if you're attempting a health kick. 5 stars and my compliments until further notice! read more
