I love this place. Their food is delicious and especially love their blue butterfly lemonade I love that stuff.

Beware. Do not use the online website virtual check in for this establishment. We put our name on the virtual waitlist and were told we would be waiting an hour to an hour and a half. We arrived at the restaurant 1 hr 15 min after we had checked in online. It is Mothers Day and my mom went up to the counter and they told her that the app is wrong when there's lots of people and that we would have to wait at least another hour. I get that there are long lines especially on a holiday like this, but if you know your app doesn't work at least be up front with the users and don't leave us stranded for Mother's Day brunch. We would have been fine waiting for another hour if we had known but we had already drove over. Please do better and improve your forecasting/prediction technology. read more

We eat at first watches all over the country. We know what is normal. We have eaten at this location now for 5-6 times. The food is always good although they rarely get the whole order right. The service is consistently a mess. We have to wait a long time after being seated. We are ignored after food comes. We try to figure out who are server is and it's not consistent so we just try and catch someone in their passing us. I think it's an east Mesa thing. We will go back to the Dobson Rd location they don't seem to have these issues. Training and staffing. If it's not your customer stop and check with them anyway! Your paycheck depends on our business. Food is good though. read more

What an amazing meal! I have bookmarked First Watch for the longest time and only decided to try it with my friend today and I am SO GLAD we did!! We were trying to think of a place that would have a relatively healthy breakfast in the area so I checked Yelp and found that First Watch was bookmarked and was close. I saw that there was wait time estimated at 12-20 min, no problem, it was so easy to join the waitlist via Yelp. I entered my name, phone number and number of people, agreed to the terms and voila, I was on the waitlist! We needed about 10 minutes to get to the restaurant so it was perfect timing. I checked the status as I was walking into the restaurant and it said that we were on the top of the list. I let the hostess at the front desk know that we were there and we were just about to sit to wait, they called my name! Perfect! The restaurant was pretty busy with almost all the tables already full and quite a few people waiting for tables. They gave us the summer specials menu along with the regular menu. I chose my drink from the summer menu, so refreshing, it had watermelon as well as other fruits, I loved it. We were offered coffee at the beginning as well. The menu has lots of great options, it was hard to decide! I ended up getting a veggie skillet with 2 free range eggs, over easy. The food took a little long to come out to be honest but it was so good, it was worth the wait. The veggies were seasoned perfectly and the egg yolk was runny. It came with a slice of whole wheat toast with butter on it and it was cut into two pieces, a bit of strawberry jam as well as a small fresh fruit cup. Everything was just great. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals very much. She had the veggie omelet and she loved it. To pay, you actually have to go up to the front desk and take the receipt that you waiter/waitress leaves at your table. Our meal came out to a little over $33 not including tip. That's not bad for the quality food we got today. I am so happy with our pick for breakfast today and can't wait to return and try more options soon! read more

I usually enjoy First Watch. This location is not the best. I arrived on a weekday, I got seated. Then I waited outside for over 15 minutes for a server when it wasn't busy at all! At first I, of course, didn't want to cause trouble but noone came outside, even though there were other guests seated there. I really felt ignored and just lost the appetite. I was hoping this was a one-time thing and that it doesn't spread to other First Watch locations. I didn't even want to post anything at first, but then I found other guests on here complaining about the exact same issues. Asking management to act here. It's not necessarily the servers who are to blame. A refresher of First Watch's original values and attitudes wouldn't hurt! read more

Great casual place for breakfast. They have good seating for groups or for smaller gatherings. There are a lot of items to choose from so everybody should be happy with their selection. I love first watch. Today I was disappointed. I am only writing this post to make sure others don't have to deal with what I went through. Today we ordered food to go for 745 am. We even gave them a grace period and showed up at 8 am. Got there, no food. Asked one person for our order, and she got distracted. Finally asked a Second Gentleman. Wait almost 20 mins before we were finally told someone took our food. They sincerely apologized but had the First Lady that ignored us /got distracted just checked we would of known our food was stolen. Please folks if your food Is not there make sure you insist they even have it. Their system is not very good and anyone can go in there and steal the to go food. We did get a refund but disappointing the very least that we had to wait over 20'mins to find out it was stolen. Update. My favorite thing about this place is that they really have something for everyone including gluten and dairy free options. I've always had friendly service and yummy food. Service. We were ignored and passed over three times for seating after we placed our name on the waitlist. We were told 10 minute wait and after 30 minutes we asked ( two couples that came in after us had been seated) if we were next and again they said 10 min. Then the third couple after us was seated. We made our last visit here a couple weeks back. At 11:45 we were told the wait for 2 ppl was 45 min. I had a 2pm appointment and figured seating at 12:30pm would work. We sat outside in our car as there was no open seating. At the 45 minute mark, we went back up front to wait outside. Large parties were being sat at this point. Yet, the group table at the front was wide open. We had to wait an addl. 35 mins to be sat. Then they sat us at one of the tiny 2 tops in the middle of the booths. Of course they sat another party of 2 on one side and a 4 top on the other - sandwiched between when lots of tables were open. We were celebrating a birthday. The one item he went in for, after all this, was sold out. Our server told us the table sat just before us ordered the last one. As a server, first thing I told my tables was the 86'd items, in case they were looking to order those. No such courtesy here. I was 10 mins. Late for my 2pm appointment after all this. read more

I've been to First Watch many times and this specific location a handful of times. The food is always amazing and the staff is always great. Yesterday I took my 6 year old son on a Mom/Son breakfast date. We had the wonderful pleasure of having Jessica as our server. She was kind, friendly and anticipated our needs (including extra napkins, which I always have to ask for). I was impressed with her friendly smile (which I could imagine was behind her mask because her eyes lit up as she spoke to her customers) and wonderful energy. I listened to her interact with another table of women close to us and could see her giving the same level of attention and superior customer service. And when we were leaving, Jessica thanked us and called my son by name to say goodbye! This may seem like a small thing but it made his (and my) day! I was so impressed by her, we stayed after our meal to talk to Linda, the manager on duty, who confirmed what an amazing server Jessica is. Linda and all the staff we encountered were truly top notch and we will definitely be back because of the impression they left, especially Jessica! Location; right off Val Vista and Baseline, I would highly suggest if you are a regular get the Phone app and check in, it will cut your wait time. Food; I was not sure what I wanted as everything sounded good on the menu, but on this day I started with the "Morning Meditation" drink that had Orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger and beet; it sounds like a hot mess but it was delicious. I know their food is good, I've been here before, but I came here with my mom and my experience was not so good. We first waited about 20-30 minutes to get seated, which we were expecting so that was not an issue. However, we were seated outside and we did not get greeted. 20 minutes passed and the host finally spoke to us and apologized and said somebody would be right with us. We watched other servers helping other tables for another 10 minutes, and still nobody greeted us. I ordered a carry out. Food was good delicious and ready when they said it would be. This is the first carry out I've had. They practiced SBC guidelines and the restaurant was clean and mask were worn by staff. Very friendly staff and great customer service. I miss being able to eat inside i could have just with COVID guidelines I felt safer at home. I highly recommend this location and restaurant! Management is awesome! Thanks for a great breakfast. Not a bad brunch spot! I'm not a local but it seems like a lot of people that are natives to Arizona say this place is decent and it is! We came here around 10 am and we were seated immediately but I hear there is normally a wait. The servers are really nice so service here is great. The food isn't bad. My friends got the granola bowl with yogurt, hash, eggs Benedict and a protein wrap. They all said it was good with no complaints. I got the eggs Benedict since it's always a safe choice and it was fine. If you're looking for a quick brunch spot I think this will hit the spot! read more

My favorite food at First Watch is the sunflower toast and jelly! Omg I can eat this every morning if I could! The staff is super nice. Clean facilities. The wait time could be the deciding factor in eating in. Tip: join the waitlist on Yelp! It will cut down the time of waiting around the area. Once we left the house, we joined the waitlist which had a 30-45 minute wait. We went from 17th to 12th on the list which was about a 20 minute drive there. We waited an additional 15-25 minutes once we checked in with the host. Refresh, refresh, refresh....bam! We finally got a seat. I ordered the steak and eggs from the seasonal menu. It was filling! The steak itself is already cooked to order (no choice in preference). Underneath the eggs are the steak cubes, potatoes, mushrooms, and spinach with some sort of white sauce. We enjoyed patio seating and beautiful weather and a yummy breakfast. The service was prompt and the food was very delicious. I tried the seasonal pumpkin pancake. It was huge! And very delicious. I typically like my pancake well cooked and this one was a bit doughy in the middle. The warm syrup was a nice touch and the side of bacon was delicious. I believe in second chances but this location didn't deserve that. I came to get an order remade from a mess up a couple of weeks. I founded something in my food so I was put on the host list to come back and they will correct the mistake. So I called and spoke with a manager to place my remake order and I told was told 10-15 minutes for my food. I was told by the manager to tell them at the host stand that my meal was covered. I arrived around that time frame and I went to the host stand and told they host that my name is in the books and I was suppose to get a remake meal. The host gave me my food and told me have a great day. So I assumed she knew about my meal replacement. As I am walking to my car the host come out and say I didn't pay. I reminder her that what the manager told me to tell the host. She went back in the building and I got in my car. Then she walks back to my car and say I need to come in and pay and bought a male with her. I go back in and explained who I talked to and how I supposed to get a remake meal and he ignored me and went to the back to check with the manager. I was so embarrassed because they made a scene after I already explained to them what happened. Guest that was sitting down were looking at me as if I was trying to steal. So I was standing there for 2 minutes and the male came back to the front and said I was good to go! Not a single apology or sympathy for how I felt. I have never been so humiliated in my life. Me and my family will never return to this location. I'm just disgusted with the actions and lack of communication in this place! So I don't know how to make this review. The food here is always amazing. Perfect! But I will say the online "get in line" option is horrible. I used that option and was told approximately 45-60 min. I waited to head over in the correct amount of time. Once I got here I told the hostess. At that time I was told it would be a 15 min wait. No problem. After 40 min wait I walked in and asked how much longer. I was told it would be at least another 30-40 min. WHY use a get in line option online...then tell me 15 min once I check in??? I could have taken my family to another restaurant. I'm ok with waiting if I'm told how long up front. I think they lied to keep you waiting. Not happy. read more

Just had a very lovely brunch today. I moved to Az on August 3. I purchased my condo on March 10th and this was right down the street from me. My initial reaction when I arrived was, this will be a great breakfast look at the line. That is a true statement. I checked in and was told 25 to 30 minute wait. They took my phone number to let me know when my table was ready. It is a lovely stroll around the complex to keep yourself occupied while you're waiting for your table. There is also a Starbucks just down the way if you want a pre-coffee before breakfast. We were seated in Dani's section and that was a nice treat. Being I am an executive chef and grew up in the industry I can be somewhat picky lol. You will have a blessing if you get to set in her section. I watched the other servers and bussers and they all looked professional and didn't seem to waste steps as they maneuvered their way through the crowd. I tried to look at the different plating of things as other tables were served. Beautiful work by the kitchen. At my table, we had the green chili chorizo omelette and the elevated egg sandwich. Loved it!!! I am on keto and my omelette came with mixed greens so that made me extra happy. I was a bit sad I could not try the beautiful thick bread toast and house made preserves. The dining room is artistically done and very comfortable. Lots of people coming in and out but the flow stayed nice. Everything looked well cleaned and maintained.
