Meatball sandwich and fries.

Still a pretty tasty food experience. We had the soup and grilled cheese sandwich and the meatball sandwich. We also had some amazing onion rings. Service is always excellent. Good meal all around.

We love this place! Great fresh food and a welcoming atmosphere. Today I had the cheeseburger and onion rings. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Highly recommend the empanadas too.

What a pleasant way to spend a Friday evening--dining at a small, quaint, family-owned restaurant. I was drawn in by the glowing reviews and decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The space is quite small, with five tables/booths and a bar area with chairs, but it's well maintained and charming. The owner, José, and his staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. I ordered a glass of Cabernet, and my wife had an iced tea. She chose the pot roast with mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley, while I had the steak tips with the same sides. Both meals were delicious and clearly homemade. The side salads were crisp and fresh, featuring a nice variety of vegetables. I should also mention that they have a full bar. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu and a cannoli--both were excellent. José, who is also the chef, is clearly passionate about his craft and takes great pride in the dishes he serves. He's a true entrepreneur, and it shows in every detail. One note: there seems to be a glitch with the app's reservation feature, so I recommend calling ahead the old-fashioned way if you want to reserve a table. Pricing was very fair given the quality, portion size, and thoughtful presentation. We'll definitely be back!

Wow! We couldn't have been more pleased. Excellent service, excellent food, wonderful ambience, and spotless place.

The meatball sub and onion rings.

This little unassuming spot is so much better than expected! It is small inside, so we found sitting at the bar to be the most comfortable spot. The service was quick, they checked on us continuously, and the owner even came out and chatted with us. We had the fish and chips and the heavy hitter meatball sub and everything was amazing. We had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert and it was delicious as well. We will definitely make this a frequent stop!

I love that they change their menu daily, it's handwritten and the details are posted on their Instagram page if you want to take a look before you arrive. Everything is made fresh to order! The day we had gone in, they had a few sandwich and pasta options available to choose from. My husband got the spicy Italian sausage ziti pasta dish and I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. It's a pretty small place with a few tables & some bar type seating. It gets pretty busy around lunch time, so plan accordingly. We'll be back again to try other items!

Simple Bad-da Bad-da Boom done! Simple try it. Parking 5/5 Arrived a few minutes before our 6pm reservation and our hostess found and confirmed our Yelp reservations. She brought us to our table. Ambiance 5/5 Thats correct not atmosphere here it's 100% ambiance. Subdued lighting, table candlelight's, Service 10/5 Alyssa was our server tonight. Very friendly and welcoming. She had in depth knowledge the menu, specials, wines and pairings, and Sprites. She timed our courses perfectly which allowed us to enjoy starters, Salado which is a detail lost on many Resturant's today. The kitchen was magnifico tonight. Thank-you guys! Alyssa was all that and more, this is what table service should be like. Great job we will be asking for you again. Food 10/5 We ordered the zucchini which were served in a nice and little crisp batter. They were great. We ordered a salad which was large enough for sharing. The dressing was the perfect paring for all the wonderful ingredients. Entrees included an order of Egg plant parmigiana over pasta. Portions are generous. My entree was tonight's special, prime rib ragu also a generous portion. The prime rib was nicely incorporated in their linguine style pasta and with other fresh vegetables in a hearty an slightly sweet sauce like my own. This was a perfect recommendation by Alyssa thank- you I'd order this again. Desert was a large serving of crème brûlée. The topping was perfectly toasted giving it its crispy texture and smoky notes. Looking for an Italian date night or cozy chill and classy place to finish your day on a good note, Sam & Luca's Italian Bistro won't disappoint. The pancakes with bacon cooked right into them were such a fun twist and tasted amazing. The green chili bowl had great flavor with a nice kick, but it wasn't overly spicy. We made reservations at Pizzicata in anticipation of both Valentine's Day and the need to re-carb after the event. We arrived at the host stand a few minutes before our reservation, but were told that there were no indoor tables available. If we wanted to be seated immediately, we'd have to accept an outdoor table, even though we had a reservation for indoor seating. We opted to wait because the weather was chilly by Arizona standards, and we were still recovering from the race. A couple of minutes later, another hostess approached us and asked whether we had reservations and were waiting. When we confirmed, she immediately left to find us a table, and we were seated very shortly afterwards. I thought very little of this until the owner came to our table and apologized for the issue. He was kind and sincere in his regret for the situation and was excited to tell us about the staff and the food. We were wildly appreciative of this attention to detail and service! We shared the potato croquettes, and they were everything I was hoping they'd be and more. (Light lore: I chose Pizzicata because I saw a picture of these croquettes on their online menu.) For dinner, my husband had the Travolta pizza, and I had the gnocchi gorgonzola. We both did that thing where we sat back in our chairs, breathed deeply, and declared, "oh dang, that's goooood." We were both so happy with our choices - I can't speak to the pizza, but that was some of the best gnocchi I've ever had. Pillowy soft in this perfectly nutty, cheesy, creamy sauce. *chef's kiss* For dessert, we shared the tiramisu, which was perfect in every way. If we weren't already walking funny because of the race, we'd have still waddled out of Pizzicata from happy fullness. The service, the food, the vibe - we're here for it and we'll be back the next time we're in Mesa.
