Without any hesitation she said she would have a new one prepared. But he said thank you and just continued eating. A few minutes later the manager came by and apologized and comped him a cocktail. My weekly "Mom Night" was unfortunately let down tonight. Decided to have a late dinner at The Keg here in San Tan Village. The customer service was GREAT! The hostess was friendly, my waitress (Bella) was knowledgeable and accommodating, and the kitchen runners were prompt. The food, fell short! I strayed with the warm bread that was good. Requested a Ceasar with not breading and it came loaded with bagged croutons. The steak and crab cake I ordered was disappointing. The steak was cooked at the wrong temp and the crab cake was full of large pieces of bell pepper and a displeasing texture. The side veggies lacked flavor and the twice baked potato was simply a potato scooped out, put back in, and burnt on the top. The Gin Basil Lemonade cocktail was too sweet and not at all alcohol forward. The restaurant was dimly lit and romantic. Indicative of a steakhouse. 2 stars for customer service and atmosphere. Had dinner last Friday night. The three stars that I gave was not for the food, it was for the excellent service that Halley gave us. She was very knowledgeable and totally awesome. As for the food, I ordered the 10oz prime rib and I would have thought that an upscale restaurant would have rare cuts not just medium rare for the price. I also had a lobster tail add on and it was overcooked, chewy and a little small for the price however the garlic mash was really good. read more

The Keg is a really nice steakhouse located in Santan village. Sooo lucky we got to seat outside by the fireplace and didn't have to wait too long without reservations on a Friday night. We had a wonderful dinner here. Arrived on a Sunday at 6:30pm with a reservation. It was busy but we were sat right away. Everyone, especially our waiter was friendly and kind. Suggested was the scallops, prime rib, and Smokey old fashion. My bf drink of choice is always an old fashion and he was super happy with it. The sip I took I found it incredibly enjoyable and would love to order one for myself in the future. The scallops were good and so was the prime rib. The prime rib was tender and flavorful. Had a Pina colata very little alcohol. One of the worst happy hours ever and the reason Im complaining is because the price was outrageous for such terrible food. $77. I came for dinner last Thursday to use my birthday deal. You get a free entree with a purchase of an entree, which is such a great deal! We ordered a half dozen oysters to start, along with the Gruyère mushroom dip. Both were delicious! We loved the house made mignonette and cocktail sauce that paired with the oysters. The dip was fabulous and we finished every last bite. We also shared a Caesar salad and it was perfectly seasoned. For our entree, we got the blue cheese filet and peppercorn New York steak. Unfortunately, the SanTan Village location in Gilbert fell short. Maybe being so far from its Canadian roots has caused it to lose some of its magic. Three out of four of our meals missed the mark. The couple dining with us had both of their steaks comped because they weren't cooked as ordered. Mine wasn't right either, but I didn't want to pile on. Still, when you're paying a premium at a steakhouse, you should get exactly what you ordered--that's their bread and butter. On a positive note, our waiter was fantastic. However, the experience started off on a strange note with a foul odor at the hostess stand. When we asked about it, she had no explanation. All in all, this visit was a letdown. This place was busy. We didn't have a reservation but they found us a table. We had a drink and then ordered. My husband had steak and I had Seabass. We also had scallops wrapped in bacon. Plus we shared a wedge salad. It was the best thing we ate. The scallops were small and just ok. My husbands steak was mediocre and my seabass was very fishy tasting. They did ask if I wanted something else but by then I was full. They brought us 2 glasses of Champagne with our bill. We each took a sip and that was the end of our dinner. We had a great happy hour experience on the patio directly in front of the fireplace. The ambience really does make the evening. But, the food is excellent as always. The prime rib sliders are fantastic! Super tender and delicious! We also tried the brussel sprout caesar salad and it was very good. We would come to this location every once in a while when I was still living in AZ and the San Tan Mall was only mins away from me. The photos are from late last year. Service has always been great. I remember this last time our server/waiter recommended the pork chop, which I remember just to be ok. But the cauliflower was really good. The marrow was too rich for us. Prime rib is always a safe bet here and is always good. I would always prefer a booth for our date nights. This place exposed the fact that they serve pre-packed food. We got our plate. Both our potatoes were warm on top and frozen cold at the bottom. BEWARE FRANKENSTEAKS We wanted to try this place because we kept reading great reviews and that it was a "locals favorite". First thing I noticed was the bathroom/sewer smell in the restaurant. It was also freezing in there. It was 100 degrees outside so I can understand why the air was on so high but they could've opened the doors to circulate the air a bit. The hostesses were very sweet and sat us promptly at our reservation time. Our server was very attentive and personable. The cocktails were watered down and the juice in them tasted old. The ceasar salad was wilted and soggy. The dressing was thick and creamy and lacked flavor. Now comes the best part.....we ordered filets and they were glued together steaks. These were not authentic filets. They very obviously used "meat glue" and served us frankensteaks. Extremely disappointed. I know my filets and I can guarantee they are using meat glue. These tough chunks of meat were served with clearly frozen vegetables that were just thrown on the plate. No care was given to aesthetics. Tasteless and chewy perfectly describe the meal. We ended up taking the food home for our dog. I don't understand how anyone could like the food here. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Sea bass was not great dry and mushy. I cool it crispy and it falls like pads of butter. Was like it was frozen too long. Salmon was cooked too hard too hot too fast. When you see white on salmon it's dry. The steaks are really good. Worth the visit. For the price I'm torn. I could spend a few dollars more and do Flemming's or Chris. Service is always good. I would even make it a point to tell them to cook it to a minimum of a medium well and I also told them about past experiences, hoping that it would just fix itself. It never did. So I quit ordering their salmon. Well, it's been about a year and so I decided to give it a try again. And sure enough ordered it medium well and came out to the table and the center was raw. Usually, at this point, they will send a manager over to apologize. They don't even do that anymore. I'm not paying this kind of money for food that has to continuously go back to the kitchen while my family finishes their dinner and I get to wait for mine every time. It happened to be AZ restaurant week, which we had no idea about until I checked out their menu online. We decided we were gonna try their prime rib. I made reservations and off we went. Very friendly and professional hostesses. Ambiance was nice. We were there at 3:15 so not crowded. Seated immediately. Why we got a huge corner booth, I have no idea but not a problem. We could see the majority of 2 dining areas and some of the kitchen. Clean. Lighting was perfect. Server was very informative and very professional. Started with the mushroom Gruyère dip. So delish. Wedge salad: fresh, crisp, tasty. Prime rib cooked perfectly. Espresso martini, the best I have ever had. The chocolate sprinkles were a beautiful touch. Main dish we chose the prime rib.
