The atmosphere was nice But unfortunately, the overall experience fell short. The service was poor and slow, and paying $7 for a can of Diet Coke felt unreasonable. We were also seated in a so-called "secret room" that only had four tables, but it offered no privacy at all -- you could clearly hear everyone else's conversations, which made it uncomfortable. The avocado toast was okay, but nothing special and not enough to make up for the overall experience. The baby was on a pad and discreetly had done so between her friends. A 2 second diaper change. This place should be ashamed of themselves. To further go on and tell this mom to completely remove herself from the restaurant to change her child's diaper in the car is insane and inappropriate. Kenny, you're disgusting. Very disappointing experience. We waited 30 minutes for a table even though there were four empty tables the entire time. We ordered two coffees and two pastries. the pastries were bite sized and a bit dry. Paying $60 for two coffees and miniature pastries feels unreasonable and completely overpriced. read more

Thank you Maeva for a 10/10 Experience! My girlfriend and I came in for dinner at Maeva and left genuinely impressed. We originally planned to order the branzino, but the team let us know it wasn't available, the morning shipment didn't meet the chef's standards. Most places would just suggest a different dish and move on, but Maeva didn't settle for "good enough." Instead, the chef personally came out and crafted a series of unique, creative dishes just for us. Throughout the night, we were surprised with smaller plates that showcased real skill, attention, and passion. Every single dish was exceptional and had distinct flavors, beautiful execution, nothing was cookie-cutter. The service matched the food. The chef, server, and bartender were all incredibly attentive without being overbearing. We felt taken care of the entire evening, and the experience felt intentional from start to finish. A wonderful dining experience in the Heritage District of Gilbert. An incredible date night to be sure. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Every course. Officially 4 courses with a starter to share, a first, the second course, and then dessert. Kenny and his crew offered a pre-fix menu. Our starter included 5 different 1 bite delights. For a first course I had the Albacore Crudo, my wife had charred artichokes. Then Kenny brought us a small taste of his Salmon. I said there were 4 courses, but there was more. Steak Au Poivre and Pork Ravioli. All so good! Dessert was supposed to be next but nope! A lovely Sorbet made with absolutely the freshest lemon. For dessert I had what they call a Study of the bee and my wife had the chocolate mousse, which surprisingly had gelato right in the center of it. This is a new restaurant in Downtown Gilbert. Classy, upscale vibe, definitely an elevated experience. We selected from the ala carte menu, but will go back to try the tasting menu option and Sunday's brunch menu. The service was amazing, the chef greeted our table twice and brought us a tasty pasta sampler that was delicious and melted in my mouth. We ordered the salmon crips and branzino for two. Both utterly delicious. I wish we would have ordered dessert! The cost was expensive for an average meal out, but we will be back as the value of the service and meal was absolutely worth it. 5 stars read more

I'm honestly very disappointed and i can't think of another word besides disgusted by how our group was treated at Maeva in Downtown Gilbert. We came in for a Galentine's Day lunch and were seated in a corner, which was totally fine. One of our friends is a 22-year-old first-time mom with a 4-month-old baby. When she needed to change her baby's diaper, she discovered the restroom had no changing table. She discreetly and quickly changed her baby in our booth using a pad and blanket, between friends, and was completely finished when a male staff member (Kenny, likely in his 50s) came over. Instead of handling the situation with any professionalism or compassion, he pointed at her, told her "we have a restroom for that," gave her a dirty look, rolled his eyes, and walked away -- despite there being no place in the restroom to change a baby. When my friend calmly spoke to the hostess (Kar), she was told that mothers are expected to go to their cars to change their babies. The judgmental tone from multiple staff members was shocking and humiliating. No effort was made to resolve the situation, apologize appropriately, or offer any kind of accommodation. We were so uncomfortable and upset that we left before even ordering food. On our way out, the hostess ignored the young mother entirely and gave a half-hearted apology to me instead. Kenny's behavior was wildly inappropriate, and the overall response from staff made my friend feel embarrassed for simply taking care of her child. That feeling hasn't gone away. If you are a parent -- especially a new mom -- I do not recommend this place. Basic empathy and respect were completely missing, and it left a terrible impression on all of us. read more

We went for coffee and danish because we had seen it recommended on Instagram. We were directed to a hostess who said they were busy and unless we had reservations it would need to be to go. Another hostess clarified and said we could sit at the community table or couches outside. We ordered our coffee and we're told again it would need to be to go but we could sit at the table till called. After all this it was not a welcoming feel and was awkward, so we took our coffee and food and left. Finally an elevated dining experience in downtown Gilbert. You don't need to drive to Phoenix or Scottsdale anymore, here's a new date night spot for a culinary experience. Multi-course tasting menu with top notch service. Chef is passionate about his creations and it shows in the food. Very different things than you're probably used too but we pretty much enjoyed everything all of the way through desert. Put a couple hundred bucks aside and spoil yourself one night this week. Came here the other day and it is absolutely beautifully designed inside and out. Maeva has an uppity feel and the Maeva "Bec" breakfast sandwich was to die for. I also highly recommend the Hisbiscus roll. I sat outside and the Julius was very friendly and explained what is to come. There's dinner menu that just came out, definitely worth a try! The ambiance and quality of the food is outstanding. I had their EBC (egg, bacon, and cheese) and black ice tea. My wife had drip coffee and lemon bun pastry. The sandwich and tea were great. The coffee was ok and we wouldn't order the pastry again. I was disappointed with the size of the sandwich for the cost. Think of Starbucks breakfast sandwich size for a little double the price. I was also very disappointed in their refill policy for ice tea. I ordered their standard black ice tea and received one refill. It was served in a tony glass filled with ice. I probably drank a total of 4 ounces total. I had to verify multiple times they only give one refill. I did feel taken advantage of. At the end of the day we walked out with tip just shy of $40. We chose Maeva to celebrate my mother's birthday, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The service alone deserves five stars. Jacob, the bartender, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made excellent drinks that really set the tone for the evening. Our server, Kerstyen, was warm, professional, and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the entire meal. A huge thank-you to Chef Kenny as well--the food was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. To top it all off, they made an incredible birthday cake that was not only delicious but a wonderful surprise and the perfect ending to the celebration. Maeva helped make my mom's birthday truly special, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. NOT MOM FRIENDLY AND ILL-MANNERED STAFF. Highly disappointed and disgusted by the behavior of how I was treated at Maeva. I will never and would never recommend anyone this place. I'm a new mom with a 4 month old baby. I had to change her diaper so I went to the bathroom to find no diaper changing station. We were sitting at a booth table, so I laid out a blanket and pad underneath my baby and changed her diaper. As any mom would when there is not the option of a changing table. KENNY, walked by our table as I finishing her diaper change, pointed at me and said "We have bathrooms for that" with a disgusted look on his face. I then said that there were no changing tables in the restrooms. He rolled his eyes, scoffed and walked away. Obviously he's never had to take care of a child before! We were all outraged and one of our friends told the hostess (Kar). She told me that they expect moms to walk to their car to change diapers??? How about we expect you to have baby changing tables in the restrooms! You except a young mom to walk to the parking garage, to my car ALONE to change her diaper?? Absolutely not, as that's not safe. We left immediately without ordering. No one apologized or was kind. I was taking care of my child appropriately and with no scene. Disgusting service, did not feel welcome and NOT mom friendly. Will never be going back and we will be telling everyone to stay away. Do better and be kinder to mothers. read more

dinner at maeva was so delicious!!! each course was amazing, there wasn't a single thing i disliked. i'm a vegetarian, and i was pleasantly surprised at how delicious all the vegetarian meals were - the king oyster mushrooms were PERFECT. i also had two omnivores in my party and they loved the meat dishes too, so there's really something for everyone :) the service was also really great, both the wait staff and the chef were very friendly! highly recommend :) read more
