RICOTTA & WINTER SQUASH CAPELLACCI

Exceptionally executed menu, a gem for foodies. They are very attentive and provide an excellent experience. We will be frequent visitors. Their seasonal menu is spot on. We had the empanada, beet and burrata salad, pork collar and pasta dish. Wow! Chef kiss.

I came here on a Friday morning for birthday brunch with my girlfriends. I got their seasonal drink, black sesame latte which was so delicious! My kiddo also had OJ and a warmed chocolate chip espresso banana nut loaf. (Btw, I did ask them, even though there's an espresso swirl, it doesn't have caffeine and it's safe for kids to eat) For my main dish, I got the Gilbert Grains which is a quinoa bowl with roasted veggies, 6 min egg with pistachio crisps. It was savory with great textures and I felt really healthy eating it too!! Lastly, I got the tasty house made ricotta ravioli to share for the table. It was all of our first time there and I just love how adorable the ambience was! They all seemed to enjoy their food too. But let me tell you about the staff, everyone was so incredibly kind to us, hospitality was top-notch. I couldn't believe how much they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. On the way out, they were so gracious and offered to take some birthday pictures in front of their adorable bookshelf backdrop. Thank you Maeva for such a memorable birthday brunch!

Maeva has been on my list for a while now, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to check it out. I really enjoyed the artsy aesthetic here. My friends and I had a reservation for Sunday morning but it didn't seem super busy when I arrived. Ollie was our waiter. I ordered the Crème Floret Latte drink which was good, the lavender on top was a nice touch. One of my friends ordered the Grand Torino and it was pretty. Despite it not being very busy, the drinks took a while to come out. I guess there was an issue with the espresso machine? For food I tried the Maeva BEC which was delicious! I would recommend that. Overall a good experience.

My new go-to dinner spot: Honestly, I almost hate to share how wonderful my experience was here because part of me wants to keep this place for myself. But, I'm no gatekeeper... GO TO MAEVA for dinner!!!! It was exquisite! I've been there for breakfast too... But dinner there was SO good! The restaurant itself is beautiful, interesting, and moody. The staff were above and beyond friendly and personable (shout-out to the GM, Brian). And the food... incredible!! How do more people not know about this place?! It feels like the kind of place you would drive to Scottsdale for, but it's right in Downtown Gilbert! The prices are so reasonable for the caliber of food you're getting. Do yourself a favor and book Maeva for your next date night, girl's night, birthday celebration, or just any day that ends in a "y"... just go!!!

03/27/2026 I finally checked out Maeva over brunch with a friend. I got there on a Friday at 9:00am. It was not too busy - most were sitting on the patio enjoying the nice weather or in line at the coffee counter. I got a table for two right by a window. The interior looks modern chic, and has many windows so a lot of natural light was shining through. A server got my drink order shortly after being seated, then my friend arrived, but the server had disappeared for a while. It wasn't super busy, so I'm not sure what the hold-up was. I got the Matcha Strawberry off of their Signature Drinks menu, which tasted fresh and delicious. My friend started with a slice of Banana Choc Espresso Loaf - I tried a bite and it was dense with good flavor, especially the Valrhona chocolate. For brunch I got the Maeva "BEC" (bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich), and my friend got the Treg's Breakfast (eggs, bacon, and sourdough). The shape of the egg in my sandwich was like a square block and unexpected, but it still tasted good. The egg, cheese, pickled peppers, and chili mayo paired nicely together with the milk bun. My friend enjoyed her food as well. I would come back and try some other menu items and dinner.

Visited Maeva while in Gilbert. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly, which made for a pleasant start. That said, the experience had a few issues. Getting seated was a bit awkward -- there are two entrances, and the one closest to the main parking garage is not the hostess entrance, which isn't very clear. We sat on the patio, and it was quite warm with only fans running; the misters didn't get turned on until after the lunch crowd had left, which felt a bit late. Tried a breakfast plate -- and this is where things really fell short. The portions were extremely small for the price. Two slices of bacon, barely half a slice of bread, and what looked like about one and a half scrambled eggs for $17 -- that's tough to justify. Overall, friendly service but the value just isn't there -- a one-and-done for me. Saluti.

Arrived here with my husband for Sunday brunch at 9ish as a walk in and we were seated right away. They have a coffee bar towards the back in addition to their brunch menu. There are both inside and outside seating available. Parking is available in the back or on the street. The service overall wasn't too bad. The host was very friendly and quickly showed us to our table. However, we did wait about 15-20 minutes before our food order was taken. The strawberry matcha was great but on the creamier/sweeter side. My husband ordered the Gran Torino and it was delicious. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the MAEVA "Bec" sandwich and it was the perfect amount for me. My husband ordered the French toast with a side of bacon and he too loved it. We will definitely be back to try their other menu items. It's such a cute spot for a brunch with the girlies too.

This is lovely new restaurant in downtown Gilbert. I feel like downtown Gilbert needed a more upscale restaurant, and this fits the bill. I really like the decor, specifically all of the art on the walls. I asked if it was all from one artist because you could definitely see the similarities in the paintings. All of the art is from one artist - - I believe they said it was the wife of the owner. There are great lighting fixtures, and if you know me I'm a sucker for lighting fixtures. There are tables and a bar inside, and a really nice patio with tables and a lounge area with a sofa and chairs outside. All of the staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed hearing about the art from them - - they were very knowledgeable. We started with a couple of cocktails - an espresso martini and my favorite, and amaretto sour. We also ordered the phyllo grissini. I expected the grissini to be long sticks, but was surprised it was little bite-sized pieces. It was so delicious - very crispy and kind of sweet with a drizzle of honey maybe? Whatever it was, it was yummy. For our entree we chose the whole branzino for two with chive and caviar beurre blanc. Lord love a duck, it was so good! I loved that it was just the right size portion, especially when so many places give you too much food. It's was served with hot sourdough bread When we were done, the chef also sent out a mignardise of little raspberry gelee bites. Wow--a bite size explosion of raspberry flavor. Love, love, love! We loved our food. The only thing I could wish for as to have an option to order a side like charred broccolini or asparagus. We didn't see any sides on the menu, but would have liked to have had the option. I'm a sucker for charred broccolini so there's that. I highly recommend Maeva for a date night, or even better, a first date!

Saw this place on Insta and I am instantly in love with their menu! Cloud, coffee was magnificent with coconut, fluff, ice, and coffee mixed together. I only wish it was bigger. I have never met a croissant that I actually liked and today changes everything. Highly recommend the pastries here. Yes, my friend ordered the croissant with apricot marmalade and butter! I would describe the croissant As Divine-I know the place down the street is wrapped around the building, but this is definitely worth a try people. Five star service the ladies were excellent at explaining things because I didn't have any idea, walking in the wonderfulness it contained. Ambience is cool-paintings with plenty of outside seating. Came here for the first time a couple months ago space looking for a place to study. I ended up getting a drink and getting some food, I thought my drink was well-made, but the food was nothing special. I was also a little put off when I was sitting at the table and was asked to move by the staff so they could sit more people but then nobody ended up sitting in the place I was at

This place is such a vibe. My friend and I arrived at 11:30 and when we walked in, we were confused as to where to find the host (we walked in from the back smh) We found the hostess desk and was greeted by a friendly young lady. She sat us down. We asked to change our seats because of the son and they were very accommodating. The rest of our party served. Our server Neema was very nice, took care of us, explained the items on the menu and always had our glasses filled with water. The atmosphere was so nice, we let the time get away with us that we were politely asked to leave so that they could close down to get ready for the evening opening which was at 5:30pm. The manager, I forget his name, was very nice asking us to leave. In the midst of us asking, he told us what was going to be on the dinner menu and invited us back for dinner. We laughed because we definitely overstayed our welcome. The food and drinks were great. We will definitely be back!

My friend Debi and I loved our lunch here last week! Taking the location of the now defunct Gypsy Coffee space, is this new chic Euro influenced, upscale cafe. Elegantly decorated with artwork by Bradley Wood this classy restaurant offers pretty tables with crisp white tablecloths inside and on the patio. There is an impressive selection of beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic. In fact it took a majority of the day's menu. While reading the menu, I didn't see any items that jumped off the pages at me but took a chance on the Gilbert Grains $15. I picked a winner! My entree was so colorful with the pistachio chili chips and six minute egg on top! I really adored the flavors of the seasoned prepared root vegetables and cherry tomatoes layered underneath. The service was polite and friendly. The portions were small/European sized but executed well. Even as an espresso lover, I found the iced Lord Bergamot tea $5.50 sensational tasting. While exploring the restaurant, a chess and candle sets caught my eye that were thoughtfully placed in a niche in the hallway. Decoration details such as these elevated the ambiance to me. Debi declared that this is her new favorite place to go!

It's an ingredient that can easily overpower a dish, but here it complemented rather than dominated. The espresso martini deserves its own mention! I'm not sure why, because I was plenty of seating in the main dining area. I didn't love it because it was kind of bright and not really a great date night dining area, compared to the rest of the restaurant. Our cocktails were quite good, and my husband really liked his burger. He ordered a side salad with the Gorgonzola dressing, and that was amazing. It made me wish I had just ordered a salad because that dressing was so delicious. I ordered the salmon which comes with butternut squash and Brussels. The salmon was fine but I did not like the brussel sprouts or the butternut squash and I did not like the glaze on any other food. I picked up my salmon and left the rest. Hubby was nice enough to offer me half of his salad because he saw how unhappy I was with my mral. That said, I'm sure that there are other people that would absolutely love that meal and that was just a personal taste of mine. Overall, this was a nice enough place, especially since Mesa seems to have bit a shortage update night type of restaurants. I will come back, but I will try something different - - certainly something with a salad in that fantastic dressing.

Every time I visit, something else has been removed from the menu, prices continue to increase, and portion sizes seem to get smaller. On my most recent visit, the menu had been reduced to the point where there was very little left to choose from. I ordered a large portion of fried rice, which turned out to be barely more than a cup of rice. I also ordered the Hibachi Rakin' Shrimp Burrito, which used to be one of my favorites because it came with fried rice and the delicious Rakin' Shrimp. Unfortunately, this time it was mostly rice with very little flavor, and it was nowhere near the quality I remembered. It's disappointing to watch a place I've enjoyed for years change so much. Between the shrinking menu, rising prices, smaller portions, and declining food quality, I no longer feel I'm getting the value I once did. Sadly, after too many disappointing changes, I won't be returning.

Overall it was a great visit, minus the twitching fly that was on our table after we were seated. We didn't know if it was half dead or what, but my friend just swiped it across the table until it fell off. I'm not sure they have any control over flies coming into the restaurant as people enter and exit, but it was off putting to have to shoo them away while you're having a meal and trying to converse.
