We recently hosted our son's rehearsal dinner for 40 guests at The Social Hall and could not have been happier with the experience. Since we were planning the event from out of town, having a team we could trust was incredibly important -- and Bailey and the entire staff handled everything flawlessly. Even the decorations were set up beautifully and exactly as we had hoped. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. A special thank you to Bailey, the Event Coordinator, who was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was organized, responsive, and made everything feel easy and stress-free leading up to the event and the night of the dinner. The highlight was definitely the Rafter Room -- it was even more impressive in person than in the pictures. My first visit to Social Hall a few weeks ago was outstanding. I visited with my sister, daughter, and 6-year-old grandson on a Sunday afternoon shortly after opening. The restaurant is much larger than I expected and beautifully designed. We were greeted immediately, seated quickly, and had a wonderful server who walked us through the menu and offered recommendations. The food was excellent. I ordered the brisket nachos from the small plates menu and was shocked by the portion size. They arrived hot and loaded with toppings, including a generous helping of tender, well-seasoned brisket. My daughter's Brussels sprouts were crispy, flavorful, and topped with bacon. My sister loved her cheeseburger and truffle fries, and my grandson couldn't stop saying, "This some good food, Ma!" with every bite of his mac and cheese. What really sealed the experience was when the manager stopped by our table. She was warm, welcoming, shared some history about the restaurant, and made us feel genuinely appreciated as first-time guests. We left already talking about when we'd come back. Because of that experience, I brought additional family members and a friend back last night. Unfortunately, the second visit was very different. Our waitress was wonderful and provided excellent service, but the food lacked the quality and flavor we experienced the first time. I ordered the same brisket nachos and Brussels sprouts, but the portions and seasoning were noticeably different. The Brussels sprouts weren't as crispy or flavorful, and the nachos had very little brisket. When I mentioned it, our waitress graciously brought out more brisket, which I appreciated, but the dish still wasn't the same. Others in our group were disappointed as well. The wings lacked flavor, a burger was overcooked, and my son--who is a chef and was excited to try--didn't particularly enjoy his meal. The contrast between our two visits was surprising. Our first experience was easily 5 stars, while our second left us questioning whether we'd return. That said, because our first visit was so impressive, I'm willing to believe this may have simply been an off night. Social Hall clearly has the potential to deliver an excellent dining experience. I'm hopeful our second visit was the exception rather than the rule, and I would consider giving them another chance in the future. read more

The mac & cheese had good flavor, but the cheese sauce was extremely runny--more liquid than sauce. Social Hall, if I were to sum up my experience in 1 sentence, an effortlessly laidback night with friends alongside enjoyable dishes we'll order for the next visit. To start off, you walk into a very open multi-section patio with space for 50-60 people to sit and stand, with games already set out like Jenga to play outdoors of the restaurant and inside there's a few arcade games that are free to play as well. My party was greeted with very welcoming and playful energy from the servers and front desk which set the mood off to an upbeat and fun vibe. From 4 people who enjoy good food, try them out for a slightly sweet teriyaki marinated steak that is cooked just right for tacos in my opinion. If you're a meat lover, 100% recommend the Ribeye because the chimichurri only complements and enhances the meat flavor rather than overtaking in my past experiences elsewhere. Another highlight was their Zero Proof drinks if you just want something tasty with no mind altering, try out the lavender lemonade for a subtly fruity noted lemonade with the essence of lavender. First time here and I'm obsessed! This restaurant is so big and has numerous different areas for seating! They also have a bunch of games to play and they are all free! We had so much fun playing skee ball! We sat at the bar are the bartenders were really friendly and helpful with questions on the menu! I had the Mexican bowl and my friend the tinga tacos. After the Yelpies evemt I had to go back for more. This place is so fun and lively. The staff members are great too. I made it for happy hour tonight with my sister and Sonia was our waitress. She was very helpful and made sure to confirm our order to make sure she put it in correctly. April also stopped by our table and was awesome. She made us feel right at home with superb hospitality. I ordered the nachos with no roasted corn or beans, but added chicken. These were so good and the portion was enough for two people. It was a mountain of nachos that I tore up. Eerything about them was on point. I aslo ordered bbq wings, but I was so full from the nachos I just had to take them to go. My friend and I were looking for a place to hang out in and let me tell ya'... this place was CRACCCKINN' LOL Parking was near impossible but was unsure if it was due to a company event that was being hosted there (funny enough, I think it was a Yelp company event haha!). It's nice to know that you can host events.. but just a heads up that even though the parking lot is HUGE, parking may be a little difficult if an event is being hosted here. This is basically an adult playground.. you have drinks, the vibe is great, you have a tiny arcade area, billiards, ping pong, etc.! The food here is GREAT.. actually, it was larger than my friend and I expected so we got full fairly quick hahaha. It took awhile to get seated but I'm assuming it's because of how busy all the employees were with the event going on! Either way, our waitress was great and very attentive. My cousin had her baby sprinkle here last Saturday and this place did not disappoint. We were a party of 8 and they accommodated us very quickly sat us out on the patio. I ordered the Pollo Asado entrée and a jam packed Capri sun. The jam packed Capri sun was my fave as it cold, sweet, and had the right amount of alcohol. My food was delicious! The grilled chicken was flavorful and grilled perfectly. The risotto was the right consistency and tasted perfectly with the chicken. Social Hall lives up to its name! This is a great place to meetup with friends to catch a game or just hang out a bit. Located near the NEC of McClintock and University, it's easy to miss if you're not familiar with the nondescript building. The main entrance is tucked behind another building. Our server was super friendly and attentive. He answered all our questions and happily accommodated one of my friend's special dietary needs. After our order arrived, he checked back twice to ensure all was good ... and it was! We ordered a variety of bottled beer and mixed drinks. I requested the Jammed Packed Capri Sun based solely on the name, given it "brought me back" to my childhood. I audibly giggled when it arrived in a plastic bag with a straw perched inside. So cute! It was fruity and flavorful, just as I expected it would be ... adult style, of course. I also opted for the Buffalo Mac. I didn't expect much, but may I just say "Wow"! The melted pepper Jack made this dish! It was smooth and creamy, making it a cohesive dish instead of a bowl full of individual ingredients. Delish! My friends ordered Bourbon Brisket and El Chapo burgers with (regular and sweet potato) fries and they were just as enamored. Prices at Social Hall aren't cheap, but they are competitive. Great Fun but Beware added fees. We had a work happy hour here and the atmosphere was great and the service was friendly. 2 Reasons Social Hall does not get 5/5 1) From 4pm when it opens to around 6 it was great and then at some point it turned into Chuck E Cheese vibe and there were kids running around everywhere in the couch area we were sitting at the back in. Not sure if it's like this often or just happened to be a high volume family night. 2) We did not have table service we ordered everything up from the bar which we were fine with as we were all paying separately anyway. The odd thing was the bartenders, great as they were, added an automatic 18% service charge to SOME of our tabs with no rhyme or reason. Half of us had more than double tipped and half didn't have the charge??? At the end of the day being someone that worked in the service industry for 10+ years growing up I just have never experienced 18% being added to a single persons tab when you are getting your own drinks from the bar? I suppose it's a lesson to me to look much closer at my bill prior to tipping. Several from our party were paying in cash and it makes me wonder if it was being added on every time to their tabs as well. Is the service charge for the "free games" is it because the bartenders thought we were not going to tip them? Not sure but just be aware. read more

This is my second visit and second review. Upon walking in, we were sat pretty quickly. It was a booth right in front of the bar as it was a little chilly outside. It took 10 minutes before someone casually strolled by and said someone will be right with you. No problem. 10 minutes later and waitress arrives with menus and says she'll be right back with waters. That's okay. We go over the menu's and 5 minutes later she appears and we place our orders. The food was delivered within a decent normal time frame for the amount that was ordered. The food was fantastic! I cannot stress this enough. It's what brought me back for a second round. The steak was cooked perfectly. The veggies were just crisp enough and seasoned well. The Brussel sprouts were delicious and something new. The wings were good too. Overall, I was super happy with the food. The server disappeared and we had all the plates stacked and waited patiently as we watched server after server pass. I mean it was so obvious that we were done, even the bartender kept making eye contact with our table. Finally our server stopped by and asked if we needed to go boxes. She came back very quickly with the to go boxes but disappeared for 25 MINUTES. We sat there waiting and waiting until I finally had enough. We had no drinks and our table was cleared but she never brought us the check. I walked up to the host stand and stood there looking weird and out of place for 5 minutes. So many servers walked past me and didn't even acknowledge me so I could ask someone for my check. I felt like I was being punk'd. Finally she comes out of the side door behind the hostess stand and was like "Oh, I was just heading to your table." I advised her that we have been waiting for her for a very long time. Her response was then kind of cold and thank you come again. I'd still recommend Social Hall for the food alone, but if your server is slow speak up quicker than I did. After two visits, I have to say the huge appeal for me is their happy hour (4-6pm everyday). I always get the green chile mac & cheese for half off (normally $14) which is tremendous QPD (that's quantity per dollar). The guac & chips was a miss the first visit, but second time around pretty good. The El Chapo burger is pretty good as well, but the smokin' cowboy sandwich was non-too impressive and I'd pass on it.
