If you're expecting just a typical dinner, Slate isn't that, it is truly an experience. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere inside is beautiful, warm, and intentionally designed to feel intimate and inviting. It does not feel like a standard restaurant, it feels curated. What really sets Slate apart is being hosted by Chef Nik herself. Being cooked for by a celebrity chef who also takes the time to engage with guests adds such a personal touch and makes the entire evening feel elevated yet comfortable. The menu features shareable bites, which makes the experience feel more social and connected. My favorite was The Devilish, the deviled eggs topped with Cajun shrimp. They were flavorful, creative, and absolutely memorable.

Had a fantastic visit to this intimate, trendy restaurant. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately for our reservation. We had so much good food, I love how they provided a complimentary champagne toast as soon as you arrive. Of course they have a full bar and wine selection. The lavender martini and peach martini were hits with my friends. I enjoyed the prosecco. Try the House of Barbie wines... awesome! The caprese salad was so fresh and delicious. The deviled eggs with shrimp were outstanding. The lobster and Mac and cheese was full of flavor and super cheesy. The chicken buffalo dip was just ok to me. The jerk chicken was juicy and fresh, but too spicy for Mr. The lobster and shrimp garlic noodles were full of seafood and packed with flavor. The salmon with the sweet potatoes was a party in my mouth... soo good! The chef was in the building and it was amazing to see her work. Our server. Que, was top notch. We very much enjoyed the live violinist...highly elegant and elevated . highly recommend and would return. This is a fantastic establishment.

Love this concept it is such an upscale experience! This space is for everyone! If you love wine, live music, and a bougie classy vibe-- then keep reading! If you're counting coins, this may not be for you! This is a great place for a date night with the live entertainment, a patio and fire pit, and the food just perfect enough that you don't want to over do it, but easily can! I love that you can hear the other person talking across from you. THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB! The flavors are PERFECT and everything is seasoned to perfection! The presentation is amazing and the details are everywhere! So excited for this new establishment in the valley-- it almost transports you to experiences you are likely to have in Atlanta, NYC, or LA! Our favorites were the devilish eggs, "pleasure" shrimp cocktail and fresh lobster, and the caviar! WOW the caviar with the cucumber was next level!!! So fresh, buttery, smokey with a light salty finish? That was a first for me and won't be the last! Slate by Nik Fields is THE hottest upscale experience in the dessert! Don't cheat yourself treat yourself!!!

Been waiting for Nik to make her way back since Chic Chef in Tempe. Pros: The new location has a great ambiance both inside and out. Quaint details that allow for an aesthetically pleasing vibe whether on a date or out to brunch with the girls. Service was on point. Staff are attentive and friendly. Cons: Menu is pricey and prices are not shown. So I'd advise to inquire if you don't want surprises with the bill. The menu is not extensive. All apps are shareable with one main entree. Also, the gratuity is automatically included. Which you typically don't see for small parties, so that was a surprise as well. Overall a pleasant experience. But $100 for 2 apps and 1 drink is a bit much for this location.

Stopped in for Valentine's day dinner and I love the location because its where Timo was located. Overall, my friend and I enjoyed the experience (the love band, our server/experience curator) everyone was super great and I appreciate the service. Great location and Great location an ambiance should not equal automatic gratuity and the bill we paid. I literally could have went to Steak 44 and had a full meal by myself for the amount we paid, the drinks were not strong, the food was ok and the caviar was double the amount for the 1oz jar (I had the same thing at the Global Ambassador and it was cheaper and better). I hate to compare but for me to not have had a solo meal and my friend and I still paid over $350 is ridiculous on top of that they didnt charge for our deviled eggs and we got two drinks for a penny so I dont know why it was so expensive. It boils down to adding the tip beforehand (which is horrible practice no place should do that for a tble of 2 - the quickest way to lose customers) please if you plan to over charge get more items on the menu, make sure the wedge salad has fresh lettuce and the drinks are not watered down. My friend and I split the bill and I cannot believe we both paid $191 and we didn't even have a meal to ourselves and 2 drinks Im still thinking... what did we pay for??

When first entering outdoors, there is a cute door bell with sign that says, "ring for free champagne". So cute! We sat at the bar and were immediately served champagne; complimentary, of course. Now mind you, even though there's red roses hanging all over from the ceiling, don't let that scare you gentlemen away. So charming! We weren't real hungry so we ordered the charcuterie. AMAZING! You get so much yummy food on it that We couldn't even finish it. Not to mention the little dish of chocolates. I'm serious. You have to check this place out. It's the best new thing in Central phoenix. My friend had white wine and I had the most delightful white wine sprites. You can bet ill be going back, many times. And will definitely bring my hubby the next time. But ladies, it's also the perfect ladies night. Cudos to Nik and all the lovely ladies that work there!

Chef Nik Fields is a visionary, her knowledge and execution of food is incredible. I had the pleasure of sharing my birthday at Slate by Nik Fields, and they created a magical experience for my guests and I. Each dish we tried was carefully crafted with intentional layers of citrus, umami texture with the most amazing flavors. The first bite of her sweet potatoes took back to my childhood at thanksgiving, I said a black woman made that. I was in love with everything I tired. My wife and I returned 2 weeks later for drinks and appetizers, and tired 3 new things. This restaurant is worth every penny, it's not just eating out, it's an experience.

My friends and I visited here on a Sunday brunch, and let me just say by saying 10/10 recommend. This is an elegant upscale wine bar, that has a beautiful setting, extravagant food and wonderful service. We were greeted by a lovely young lady at the door who seated us. Once inside, a violinist performing her rendition of old school faves met us at the door and roses hanging from the ceiling guided us to our seats. Once seated, our server informed us of how the menu was layered and took our drink orders. We had, lemon drop flights, mai tai, their take on an Espresso martini, a margarita to die for and a bourbon infused beverage that can only be described as "honey". As we ordered our food, we saw salmon, deviled eggs, crab cakes and other dishes fly out to others' tables, which only made choosing our own meals more difficult. The portions are very fitting, the flavors DYNAMIC, hot food was piping hot from the kitchen. We even got to see the owner and creator, "Nik" herself come over to our table (she's SO AMAZING btw). My only regret is that I didn't come here SOONER! But I will definitely be coming back. This was an experience. PSA: This is not for friends who like to penny pinch or "count coins"! It is an experience and should be enjoyed with friends, family, and those who enjoy fine dining. My husband and I had one cocktail each, one shareable, 2 entrées, and dessert and rounded out at about $165 as gratuity was included for our party of 6. I'm so excited for any of you who engage with this GEM!

    Devilish

Such an amazing night. Coming from California and this place is a must!!! The Devilish eggs was so good. And then the cheesecake... the picture just explains it perfectly. I will be coming back, she will be seeing me again. Thank you guys!

They always have different nights like trivia, bingo, live music, comedy, karaoke and DJs and then of course their curated wine club night (one time per month). The cocktails are so good here -- so many are my favorite, especially the espresso martini. They also seem to have rotating specials too -- I can't remember what this month's drink is but it has candied ginger in it and it is so good! Butler's has a small menu but the grilled cheese is super yummy. I see they have just added hummus to the menu so definitely need to check that out! You can also bring in outside food. I joined the wine club and every month they have a curated wine tasting and then members get the selected bottles to bring home. The have a little charcurterie table set up too. Wine club members are free and I think it is $20 for non-members. I want more people to come to Butler's because it is such a great neighborhood bar -- so check it out now!!!

It's the kind of restaurant that makes getting dressed up feel exciting and worth it, and I absolutely loved that about the experience. It felt like such a perfect date night spot or place to celebrate something special. The servers were also extremely attentive the entire night. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Honestly, I'm sitting here craving the food again just looking back at the pictures I took. This is definitely one of those restaurants that sticks in your mind long after you leave.

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.
