I tried to call 3 times before finally just heading over. I was trying to clarify if the gf crust was with cauliflower ; but no one ever awnsered and the line was full of messages. We finally just went over. Service was OK... Had I been asked how the pizza was,I likely would have engaged a bit on it, but I was never asked despite only eating one piece. I ordered the Lucia Pizza gluten free - it's got red sauce, sausage, cremini mushrooms, mozzarella cheese. I added caramelized onion. I was fairly disappointed in the gf crust, and I do believe it's an in house crust with a rice & tapioca base...it was fairly crumbly and didn't really feel like I was eating pizza slices since the pizza kept breaking into pieces; I ate one slice and tried to send the rest home with the grandkids... They didn't want it either... I do not reminded the gluten free. The sauce was good and the toppings were quality ;hubby had a pizza and meatballs which he enjoyed. From the reviews, I think if your going for regular pizza, it's a Definate hit, but they missed the mark on the gf.
If you know, you know. Il Bosco is hands down our favorite pizza in Arizona. Every single time it hits. We started with the Fried Ravioli (crispy on the outside, perfectly cheesy inside) and the stuffed zucchini flowerse-- light, delicate, and fried to perfection. Not greasy. Just golden, cheesy and addictive. And then... The Valentina Pizza. We added Serrano for a touch of heat with the honey drizzle. Absolute magic. Sweet, spicy, savory -- the kind of balance that makes you pause mid-bite. The crust has that perfect wood-fired char with a soft, chewy center. It's artisan without being pretentious. Just straight-up delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service is top notch and they even remember our order from our last visit. We've had a lot of pizza in Arizona, but Il Bosco keeps us coming back. Every. Single. Time.
came to the Phoenix location after seeing so much hype about this place on social media. Seat yourself style so obviously a very casual restaurant. Service definitely lacked because everyone sat at once with no pacing. Tried to the toasted ravioli and it came out so fast it was obviously already cooked or preheated. Not bad but truly tasted like something you could buy at the store. We got 2 different pizzas, can't remember the name but both very basic, and they were good. Was is the best pizza in the valley? No. But it was reasonably priced for the size and the quality. Also they don't serve coke or Pepsi fountain products but rather some off brand bottled soft drinks which aren't bad but would much rather prefer a coke. Worth a shot if you're in the area and want good pizza but probably wouldn't come back as we've had better elsewhere.
I ate here on recommendation of the server at a brewpub I stopped in at prior to my visit. The outdoor patio is dog friendly and it was warm enough to eat outside. Service was fast. The young man attending to me came up right away. He was a little surprised that I requested a paper menu and didn't want to look at the QR code. My basic Adriana pizza came out quickly and it was delicious. The crust had a nice flavor to it. It was a Monday evening and the place was busy.
Stopped in for dinner with a group tonight and the service was friendly and good. The server was attentive and the food was enjoyed by all. The platter I ordered was delicious and mostly devoured quickly. I would go back to try the pizza in the future.
I had the Biaggia and it was outstanding. Fig jam, arugula, goat cheese and more! Just super tasty combination. Service was solid too. Only drawback is that finding a parking spot can be tough on the weekends and in the evenings. Worth a stop!
This is such a great place to stop and enjoy a casual meal outdoors when you're in the Roosevelt Art District. This pizza place is in an old house with a big front porch. There's a small dining room inside and plenty of seating out side in front. When we got there all the tables with shade were taken, but our server said he could grab us an umbrella. With it being such a beautiful day, we wanted to sit outside. We ordered: *Spicy Italian sausage stuffed peppadew peppers *Gabriella pizza (red sauce, pepperoni, hatch green chile, mozzerella) *Joanna Pizza (red sauce, spicy sausage, pepperoni, mozzerella) Everything was yummy, and it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy the great weather. This place can get packed at night, but there was no problem going for lunch.
I met a friend here and had a great time. The restaurant is a renovated old house downtown off Roosevelt, so parking is on the nearby streets. The menu has appetizers, salads, a wide range of Neapolitan-style pizzas and a variety of drinks. Service was fast and friendly. There's indoor & outdoor seating. I ordered the Katarina, which has pepperoni and mushrooms and it was delicious.
Happy to admit I was WRONG to give Il Bosco 4 stars. They are an easy 5! You just gotta find the the right pizzas for you :) I'll Bosco is my latest delivery favorite. It's actually affordable for wood fired pizza compared to others like it in the area which is awesome. Since my first review, I've tried the Maria (pesto and tomato), Elaina (pep and olive), Biaggia (fig and arugula), and Valentina (pep with chili and honey). All of them were amazing. The crust is exceptional. It's crispy and thicc but still light and nice and smoky. The toppings are all high quality including the delicious cheese they use. The Caesar salad is also delightful and packed with parm. Also don't skip the salsa di parmigiana. Omg. It's spicy and rich and the most perfect thing ever to top their yummy bread with.
A chill place to grab lunch or dinner, the outside sitting was perfect for a cool cloudy day like today no flies or annoying gnats. I came specifically for the vegan pizzas and I'll have to give it a 7/10 it was okay. Of course it wouldn't taste like regular cheese, it was a bit soft but I was able to eat a decent pizza without stomach pain and breaking out so I'm grateful
OMG!!! This place is amazing!! We stayed at the Hyatt and it was quite a walk but was so worth it! The pizza was so fresh and delicious and the staff was so friendly and great service! We sat at the bar. We will definitely come back here again. Kendrick and Harrison were our servers and were so nice and made good conversation with us and were genuinely happy to serve us. The place was small and cozy inside. Best authentic fresh pizza ever!!!
Normally when we come to il bosco the service is phenomenal and the food consistently delicious. Last night was very off from all our other visits over the past 4+ years coming here. The Dona was SO insanely salty i didn't even want to finish the pizza when normally we go through the pizzas so fast here. We normally will get a bowl of ice cream for the kids to split but they brought out the most insane piled two bowls of ice cream for our kids to finish amongst themselves i had to help my 3 year old with. The pepperoni was sweet according to my husband so im glad i didn't try that. I am not a fan of sweet and salty combos on most savory dishes. Also huge note they don't offer kids pizzas anymore so you are committed to getting the regular sizes which is fine just be warned. So from now on we may have to go to the Tempe location or Scottsdale and see if it's different. So unfortunate because we loved coming here when we were downtown. read more

Tuesday night dinner before a concert. Lightly crowded, still some folks in there. Menu has a good assortment of choices. We opted for 2 pizzas - Sausage & Onion (Franca) and Spicy meat pie (Divina). The crust is very good, Crisp toward the edge, a bit softer toward the middle. Franca was our preferred pie, but both were very good. Service was good, ambiance was good as well. I love the patio and the location! Roosevelt row continues to develop into a great place to enjoy for shopping, dining and more. I've been to I'll Bosco a few times and the pizza delivers.. As a local in the neighborhood, I tend to go at odd times and avoid the rush. This has made for prompt, and very friendly service! The ravioli starter was fresh and delicious and the pizza came out hot and exactly as described. I like the dense menu options also; enough choices to make me come back and enjoy again. read more

We ordered a Valentina (red sauce, pepperoni, cheese, calabrian chili, and finished with a honey drizzle) and wowzah. If you're a fan of sweet heat, this is the pie for you. Aw yis! I love it when the pepperoni crisps up and cups. It becomes a little vessel of fat and flavor. Your heart might not like it as much, but your tastebuds will be happy. The crust was charred, and it was a lovely pie. I need to come back! I would like to try the Biaggia (fig jam, prosciutto, mozz, goat cheese, arugula, shaved parm, lemon olive oil). SO living downtown PHX, we have plenty of places to try, and trust me, we have tired a lot. This time we decided to walk up the Roosevelt Row and wanted Pizza, so we gave IL Bosco Pizza and it did not disappoint. We did get there about 5pm and not many people were there, by the time we left at 630 it was full. The Pizza was excellent, salad was excellent the dessert was amazing. I had the cannoli and the shell was not soggy it was excellent!!!! We will be back. read more

Came here to do a date night with my husband. At first the service was pretty good, we were seated quickly and checked in frequently. Toward the end of the night the staff forgot about us and my husband had to get up to pay for dinner because they were inside watching a game. The ambiance was nice but I noticed a lot of the light bulbs were burned out, not a big deal but I tend to notice when places do regular upkeep or not. The bruschetta was actually delicious and the bread tasted fresh. Wasn't impressed with the kale salad for the price and the meatballs were pretty dry and lacking flavor. Definitely wouldn't come back, but I enjoyed the seating outside. Maybe the pizza is better read more

I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile. We always pass it during the first friday art walk. This weekend I was craving pizza so I made a reservation for two at 7pm. We arrived and were told to sit anywhere. Since it was the first nice night out in phoenix (not 1,000 degrees) and the festival was going on, we decided to sit outside and people watch. The patio is cute, with a perfect view of the action I ordered a sprite and was presented with a "bubble up" which is just like sprite and was super refreshing! We both ordered pizzas after looking around at everyone else's food. A pizza is easily sharable, unless your a wild animal like me and can kill a full pizza by yourself. Lol the pizzas are a nice size, around an average "medium" I would say. My partner ordered the Maria and I got the Valentina and let me just say, whoever decided to put hot honey on pepperoni pizza *chef's kiss* it was absolutely delicious. Ima pizza GIRL. I Stan a good pie, and this was one of the top pizzas I've had in Phoenix (just moved here two years ago) the crust was chewy and charred just right, the sauce was spicy and not TOO saucy, the cheese was delicious and I can't speak to that honey ENOUGH. So good. My partner enjoyed her pizza as well! We both decided we would come back and try everything they have! read more
