Why have I never been here before??? This pizza is soooo good! The space itself is beautiful. Amazing drinks. Fantastic service. I can't say enough good things. We came here on a food tour and I had to add it to my list to return because there are about ten other things on the menu I want to come back and try.
Pomo: Good eats. If you want to go to a place that has a good menu covering a wide variety of dietary restrictions, this place is a great place to go. We came as a party that has restrictions like vegan, gluten-free, and lactose intolerance and we all found something to eat and drink. This isn't my first time at Pomo but it definitely has been a while. Never a disappointing experience here.
If there's one food that I can eat multiple days in a row, it would be PIZZA! In fact, when I went on my honeymoon, it was to Europe where Italy was certainly a highlight. It's nice when there's a place locally to get a taste of such a special experience. That would be Pomo Pizzeria! While I probably go to the Scottsdale location more often, my first visit to a Pomo location and my most recent visit were both to this Downtown Phoenix location. First, it is so easy to make a reservation, which can be done on their website (https://pomopizzeria.com/downtown-phoenix) or on OpenTable. You won't need a reservation though for lunch (at least not during the summer) though it's not a bad idea to have one for dinner. I have been meaning to stop by for one of their happy hours (Monday through Friday from 3-6 PM) where they have special priced bites and libations. They also have a special lunch menu for those of us braving the heat during the workday, especially during the summer, though no pizza options on the lunch menu. I have also enjoyed engaging with Pomo on Instagram and other social media. They occasionally host anniversary special events with free snacks, drinks, and prizes. Also, once upon a time, they hosted a contest to hunt down their billboards. They gave away gift cards to three lucky winners who found all three billboards. I'm excited to have been one of them! #pomopizzeria #pomoparty #pizzaparty The service has always been good. Just today, from when I first walked in to when I placed an order, to checking in on me during the meal, I appreciated the staff checking on me while not being overbearing. The food is also very good! I ordered the Diavola today without hot soppressata but with salami instead. The other ingredients were the tomato sauce, basil, and mozzarella so having a nice meat made it taste like a fine pepperoni pizza. Very good, especially with sprinkled parmesan. While I certainly plan to stop by this Pomo location again soon, I'm looking forward to visiting their other locations again, too.
What a great downtown pizza spot! It's on the small side so I would recommend reservations. The house made focaccia with whipped ricotta and honey is so good, especially the bread. Crispy on the outside, pillow soft inside. Yum! The mozza balls were fine but nothing special. Caesar was delicious, nicely dressed and just a hint of kale. The sautéed shrimp gratin was also good, but we're looking forward to trying the meatballs next time. The pizza - delicious Neapolitan style. The hot sopressetta was a bit spicy for my wife, I loved it. The burratella was also delicious and less spicy without the chili threads - if you're looking for something more mild. Gelato - delicious. Affogato was so good. Tiramisu was a bit bland and soggy. Staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. We'll definitely be back!
It was a lovely day outside, and I needed to grab something quick to eat for lunch, but forgot I'm not in NYC, where I can just grab a quick slice to go. I arrived and took advantage of the great patio seating and the slower pace of life. Ordered the Tartufata Pizza - NO TOMATO SAUCE cremini mushroom, mozzarella, truffle olive oil, and shaved parmigiano. It was decent and satisfied my appetite, but nothing too memorable.
I love Pomo! Their pizza is delicious. Neapolitan style. I've tried a few and their delicious. Decent happy hour specials for drinks and apps. We stopped by there on Fri and they had some Valentine's drink specials. My friend had the strawberry one and it was delicious. The bartenders there are always so friendly Love the vibe there.
The service was great, it was lunch time and even though it was pretty busy, our server was on it. We did sit at the bar and had TV's right in front of us. The place is a decent size and there is also gelato in there so you can get dessert right after your meal. It's a chill place and great for lunch or dinner. The food was amazing and the pizza was freshly made for us. The caprese salad was delicious!!! Goooo try this place!
Pomo Pizzeria in downtown Phoenix is so yummy! We had such a great experience at Pomo Pizzeria. Great, super friendly service. Yummy food, with so many options for everyone. On this particular night, we were a party of 4 and shared a bunch of stuff: Caesar salad, salami board, calamari, meatballs, zucchini chips, gnocchi, and a pizza. Everything was tasty and delicious, except the zucchini chips. I thought it was going to be more like actual friend zucchini, you know, nice and crispy. No, it was shaved zucchini and then deep fried. It tasted like burnt tissue paper...lol! Everything else though, YES PLEASE and THANK YOU!
Great Italian Cusine with an amazing Happy Hour! Location: Located in downtown Phoenix, this location has indoor and outdoor seating. Parking: We are staying near by and walked a few blocks to get here. The walk was pretty easy, no super busy roads or crazy alley ways. There are parking lots nearby; however, I would recommend reading all signage. Not sure if they are owned by the restaurant. Ambiance: This place is a chill vibe and has a changing table, which tells me that it is welcoming to families and kid-friendly. Thank you Stefano for thinking about us families out there! Service: We got there a bit early and was greeted with a smile and a quick convo with a gentleman who was sweeping outdoors. We later walked in and had great chats with the young lady serving Gelato and Hannah behind the bar. She made some great recommendations for us. Food: We had the focaccia which was lovely and the meatballs. I will say, I am usually not a big fan of meatballs because they are mostly soggy, but this one was delish. We of course had to wash it down with a nice glass of wine. All of the above was on the HH menu! We went with a friend who is from Italy and he raved about the food. The Gelato... They have so many flavors and they are sooooo smooth and creamy! I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted because they were all so good! We plan to go back and try more of the menu!! Looking to get more of that great service and food!

Also keep in mind this is downtown so you're looking at street parking. Our waitress was great, but it also took some time for the host stand to acknowledge us. Overall, you'll be pleased with the quality of the food.

Haven't been here in a year and decided to try the pasta instead of the pizza--lesson learned! The pasta was decent but chewy in spots, and the sauce lacked flavor. If you come here, definitely stick to the pizza--it's amazing! Steer clear of the pasta dishes very lackluster

Three tomatoes are walking down the street: a papa tomato, a mama tomato, and a baby tomato. The baby tomato starts lagging behind, so the papa tomato turns around and yells, "Ketchup!" Pomodoro, it means "tomato." I haven't been to Pomo in a hot minute but I'm always pickled to pop in. Most recently, the four of us stopped in after a baseball game to rehydrate and eat proper food. Because beer, Bar-S hot dogs, and peanuts can only do so much for a grown adult. We took a short walk over from Chase Field on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. Let me tell you, the ice cold water that was immediately served after being in the 102°F heat was more than welcomed. I ordered The Burratella. The Burratella is one of the most popular pizzas at POMO Pizzeria, featuring a creamy, indulgent blend of fresh mozzarella, imported burrata, hot soppressata, chili threads, fresh basil, and a signature local organic honey drizzle--all served on a crispy, thin crust without tomato sauce for $21.95 and yes, it's as delicious as it sounds. And because it was the weekend, I had two different espresso martinis: Pistachio Espresso Martini and the Banana Espresso Martini. I really enjoyed the banana espresso martini in particular. To be noted, my friend's drink of the Pomo Lemondrop was insanely good. For those with dietary restrictions, this place is great. They are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friendly. Wow!!!! So at first I was not happy because of parking and I was ready to go somewhere else. So glad I decided to keep looking because this place is worth it. The staff amazing! This is a place where both their pizzas and pastas are made with absolute excellence. All of the pizzas are personal pizzas. My brother and I tried a pasta and a pizza and shared. The service was fairly good. What was a neat touch was that I let them know it was my birthday and they allowed me to have a free gelato. I loved how the pizza was packed full of ingredients. The pasta was fine tuned with amazing flavor. The gelato was smooth and creamy. Our bill for two came out to $55.79 (includes tax and tip). Finally, I noticed that most people were not paying the parking meters and according to the employees, those meters outside are never checked so consider it free public parking. read more

Exploring downtown Phoenix I came across Pomo. Decided to give it a go. The restaurant was packed so I was able to squeeze in at the bar. The staff was all friendly and the bartender was great at explaining the choices I had for dinner. I went with one of their pies and it was ok. I definitely needed some more ingredients for my tasting. I found myself leaving a lot of crust due to minimal cheese added to it. In the bites that did have a little sauce and cheese I did enjoy and were good. If I'd to come again I'd ask for some modifications. read more

The Inferno pizza has my whole heart! It's my favorite pizza in all of AZ at the moment. If you like spicy, please try it. The salads are also good and fresh and I've had the fritto misto which was awesome. I think the crust here is immaculate. You cannot go wrong with Pomo - everyone I've ever brought here has loved it. The restaurant itself is cute. They have the big pizza oven by the bar area and a big patio for when it's nice out. Lots of parking by this location too. The service was great and it's in an awesome location near Roosevelt row. However, u was slightly disappointed in the pizza. It wasn't awful but I do feel like the pizza middle was really thin, but the crust was great. With the pizza being thin, it got very soggy. I had ordered the Pomo and wish I had tried another pizza. I have been here for their gelato before too and that was delicious. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. I think next time I visit I would rather try a pasta or theirs! read more

I came by with two friends on a Sunday morning, expecting the place to be packed (it was prime brunching hours) but to our surprise we were the first patrons of the day. We had stopped by for coffee ahead of coming to Pomo, so we only ordered two pizzas to share and they were both perfectly crispy and hot. I recommend the Diavola. Our server was attentive, checking in with us every now and again to ask if we needed anything, and refilling our waters. She was also kind enough to bring us both their signature hot honey and oil to pair with the pizzas. If it's not too hot or too cold, I recommend sitting outside. Pomo is located on 1 St, which isn't super busy / there isn't too much car traffic which makes it great to get some fresh air and people watch. read more

I have been here a few times but it has been years. We recently came for lunch this past Sunday. They offer paninis for their lunch specials -- I opted for a meatball panini and my partner ordered another panini. They are served on thick focaccia bread. My panini was just okay -- I feel like there should have been way more sauce to accommodate the amount of bread. It was a bit dry because of this. My daughter had the pino pizza -- it wasn't good. I'm not sure why the salami tasted so terribly, but three people in the party agreed. I used to really like this place so I'm not sure what happened this time around. Ttiinniiiiii Tttuueesssddaaayyy!!!!! Is literally when we come here and it's good lol. Pomo is not a big space but it's quaint and I love it. My friends and I were greeted and sat down right away. The past 3 times we have gone it's been like that. I don't have pics of what we had to drink but I do remember lol. We had regular 1 lemon drop, 3 pomo lemon drops, 1 pistachio expresso martini and, 1 the best espresso martini and alllllllll were delicious. We had a starter salad called panzanella. I never had grilled peaches in my salad before but it was very good pairings. We also got 2 different pizzas one was capricciosa and the burratella. We always try a new pizza when we go and these two were delicious!!! Of course some of my friends wanted ranch but honestly it didn't need it. They do give you fresh parmesan and crushed red peppers but they also have this chili out that great as well. I would not recommend the pasta tho for the price does not match the portion #youllleavehungry. Now it can be pricey even with the Tini Tuesday special but as long as you have others the bill is less harsh lol. This is definitely in the books for a revisit for us. read more
