    Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza
    Brandon P.

What a nice a little pizza spot! The price of $4.50 is a little steep for a single slice, and $1 more per topping. however, the pizza was wonderfully balanced. I loved how crispy the crust was. The sauce was rich, but not overpowering. The atmosphere had a warm, family, welcoming feel. The staff were very friendly and professional. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely want to try their sausage pizza and some desserts! 3*** = Just Okay 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

On our last night in Phoenix, we decided to stay in and order pizza. My sister and her husband recommended Pino's, so we went with that. We got two pizzas: the Bianca and a classic pepperoni. The crust was thin with a nice crisp on the bottom and around the edges, which I really liked. The Bianca is a white pizza, so no tomato sauce. It came with garlic, tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil. It was so flavorful and fresh. I'm usually not a big fan of pepperoni, but I tried a slice and ended up loving it too. For dessert, we had to try the cannolis since everyone kept saying how good they were. They were amazing. The shell was crispy, the filling was creamy and not too sweet. Definitely worth getting. Everything arrived warm and fresh, which made the night even better. It was the perfect way to end our trip

Stopped by Pino's for lunch with a friend. I had never been here before and the parking lot was small but we were early so it didn't matter. As we walked in, the staff was friendly and greeted us. We ordered a couple slices of pizza and sat down. The restaurant is good sized with lots of tables. We didn't have to wait long and our slices. I was amazed at how big the slices were, they are huge! The pizza was good and had lots of pepperoni on them. My friend said he's had the calzones before and they're really good too. I will definitely be back to try other things.

Best mom and pop Italian Restaurant in the valley. The portions of food are just like you see here, LARGE! Service is quick considering they make it fresh. General ambiance is Italian, nothing fancy, but straight forward. I am a fan for life!

Stopped by here for lunch, a nice little place. I ordered for the pasta Alfredo chicken, the pasta was quite creamy and a large portion as well. My friend tried the pepperoni pizza, as you can see it's a large slice. But what was the best thing we had was the tiramisu, it was really tasty and felt authentic and again it was a pretty large portion as well. The service was quite fast. The place wasn't really that crowded during lunch on a weekday. I noticed a lot of people doing take out as well.

First of all, I found it strange that the restaurant was a sit-down establishment and they still had a counter for ordering. Second, when my food arrived, the chicken Parmesan was overcooked and dried. I wouldn't recommend the chicken Parmesan sandwich because the chicken Parmesan itself looked like a complete mess, as if it didn't have enough sauce.

The pizza was fire. If you are trying to get down and dirty on some pie this is the place. Crunchy thin crust great sauce and just the amount of grease. Perfect football Sunday pizza. Cesar salad was great as well. Service was friendly.

The pizza was beyond delicious. The crust was so flavorful. I had the prosciutto rucola, such a great combo of flavor! Arugula, parmesan, and prosciutto. That pizza will never fade from my go-to list of happy memories!

Spinach and ricotta calzone. This thing is HUGE!

A friend wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday so I was checking what was near my office. I hadn't yet been to Pino's but pizza sounded good so we decided to go there. After looking over the menu, we both decided calzones sounded good. Spinach and cheese is my favorite so that's what I decided on, and my friend asked for chicken and mushrooms in hers. (They have a good selection of toppings to choose from.). From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall. There is a good sized seating area inside. It's fairly simple, but clean. You order at the counter, they give you a number and you can grab a table and wait for them to call your number. The calzones are HUGE! You could probably feed a family of 4. We both had plenty left to take home. The cook was perfect! It's not always easy to get them cooked all the way thru, but this was completely cooked. And very tasty. The spinach and cheese does not have sauce inside which was fine with me. I've had them other places where the tomato sauce inside completely dilutes the flavor of the spinach and cheese. But every calzone comes with a cup of marinara. It looks like they also sell individual pizza slices which is always great for a quick lunch, so I'm sure I'll be stopping into Pino's again. It's right near my office, so they may see me fairly regularly.

First time at Pino's Pizza in Central Phoenix. Early weekend lunch with family and friend. Tried the Cheese and Four Cheese pizzas. The Four Cheese had Gorgonzola cheese which is like a bleu cheese with a pungent acquired taste. The Cheese Pizza was exceptional. I'll be back to try some additional menu items.

The first thing that stands out is the massive, beautifully maintained outdoor seating area. It's covered, pet-friendly, and thoughtfully designed with fireplaces and privacy walls that give each table a more intimate feel. There's even an outdoor bar where you can grab a drink while you wait or just enjoy the atmosphere. Inside, the décor is incredibly creative. Butcher knives and custom cutting boards line the walls, and the open kitchen showcases hanging meats so you can see everything in action. The bakery area adds another layer of charm, with rolling pins and whisks hanging from the ceiling, it all feels intentional and immersive without being over the top. The menu is just as fun and different as the space itself. I started with the Sicilian wedge and then had to go for what they're known for, the handcrafted meatballs. You can mix and match meatballs with different pastas, but the real showstopper is the "meatball carousel." It lets you sample multiple meatballs with their recommended sauces, all presented on an elaborate Ferris wheel-style display that turns heads across the restaurant. It's a full experience, not just a meal. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. What truly made the night, though, was our server, Mia. She struck that perfect balance of fun and professional, engaging, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with. She guided us through the menu, made great recommendations, and brought a level of energy that elevated the entire experience. You can tell she takes pride in what she does, and it shows. For dessert, we went with the traditional Sicilian cannoli stuffed with Nutella and a lemon tart that was so good I'd honestly consider flying back just to have it again. This place delivers on every level, atmosphere, creativity, food, and service. I'll absolutely be making this a regular stop anytime I'm in Phoenix.

My two favorite dishes that never miss are the Lasagna and the Chicken Parm. Like clockwork, it has always been impeccable. Sadly my most recent experience will likely be my last experience. I ordered the Chicken Parm and when it came out there was something missing from my plate. Instead of the usual Rigatoni Pasta with Vodka Sauce there were a couple of stale chunks of potatoes and some sorry looking asparagus spears. I asked the bartender where is the pasta. She responded that it no longer comes with pasta and that I could order some at an additional charge. It was at that moment that I knew I would never return again. Never in my entire life have I ever ordered Chicken Parm at an Italian Restaurant and not have it come with pasta. That is like ordering a hamburger and it doesn't come with a bun. Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.

We were seated and immediately after sitting down I literally couldn't hear anything anyone was saying at my table. Most the customers were crammed into the front right room and it was impossible to hear anyone at my table with loud women surrounding us enjoying lunch (which is fine) but break up the crowd a little.. I immediately stood up and asked to be moved so we could atleast hear each other. The young teen who Sat us was very helpful and moved us to a different table in the back right. When I tried to order the appetizer, I said "Yes, (looking at the waitress) we'd like to split a Caprese ( glances at my daughter to confirm in a questioning voice hesitating at the end) The waitresses said, "ok, I'll come back in a few when you figure it out" obviously not willing to wait a few seconds for a confirmation. We just sat there going Wow?!? That was wild, we also had our pizza orders ready but ended up waiting till she wandered back our way. The entire time we felt like we were keeping her from her kids? Grandkids? We definitely put her out, drinks were not offered beyond the first, I had to ask for a second one. The pizzas came, but not mine. I was informed it was wrong and they had to remake it. After my pizza finally came I realized it was still rather doughy and undercooked. We moved on as my daughters were done eating thier pizza and one of them grabbed boxes and we boxed them and waited to order crepes. We finally got our crepes and mine didn't look gf and was missing the allergy flag. We waited a few and I finally got up and went to the front room, the 2 teen girls (servers? They were serving) were messing around in the front room and almost ran into me when I FINALLY went up front to say My food had been messed up after it was dropped, no one checked back. They kept messing around and then stopped and looked at me asking if I needed help. I said YES please. She went into the side room to the front left and the waitress got up from the table where she was sitting with the other kids (that were at the drink fountain when we'd walked in.) She asked what she could help me with... I told her my gf pizza was not cooked all the way; I'd thrown it into a box (that we'd actually went to get) and I'll reheat it properly later and eat it, but the crepe I was concerned as there was not an allergy flag and it looked JUST like my daughters texture wise. I'm familiar with the crepes and I REALLY didn't think it was gf. She said she would not do anything about the pizza since I didn't mention it prior but the crepe was indeed gluten free. A little stunned I again said I would take the pizza home and reheat, I didn't ask for anything in regards to the pizza as they reheat well... and I would not eat the crepe, I truly didn't think it was gf! She said they'd remake it. I replied no thank you. (I'd already sat once while my party ate, for the gf pizza to be remade... I wasn't doing that again. With an attitude she told me she'd remove it from the bill! One bite was cut out and STILL on the fork, it should but have been an issue. I love Cibo and the food is amazing and it's worth the drive to come from Surprise for a treat, but that was a bit much...I'll be back, but I'll definitely ask for a different server!

An extra treat was that they have bottles of spicy oil on the tables, so I was able to enjoy the crusts by slathering them with the tasty oil as though they were breadsticks. On the way out, after mentioning to the bartender how good the oil was, I was gifted a couple of condiment cuplets to-go, which was a thoughtful and nice touch and sort of made up for the server who wasn't particularly warm or informative as I had to ask about the specials and whether or not all the pasta is freshly made, etc. Heck, if you have a great selling point like homemade pasta, talk it up and get us to drooling! There is a variety of seating available, including outside and at the bar--bar has an inside section as well as outside which is a nice design for the lovely weather days. However, it's unfortunate that the outdoor seating is on such a busy traffic corner, so it's not the little retreat it would otherwise be. The lunchtime music was more like happy hour music, not conducive to conversation--maybe for the cellphones-at-the -table crowd it's okay, but being near the Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona Opera, why not add to the cultural experience of the area by celebrating its Italian origins with some Italian music? Even if just added as interludes during every few pieces, it would enhance the ambiance. We had to raise our voices to carry on our conversation, but it was manageable. However, when I came back the next week with a friend with a hearing impairment, it became more problematic. She tried adjusting her hearing aids, but the thumping rhythm kept taking precedence as we tried to find a quieter corner, but it wasn't possible as it is a small space and speakers were close to each table. I felt so bad that she couldn't enjoy a meal there--we both were so looking forward to having a fresh pasta dish, but just couldn't stay. Upon leaving, I felt I should let management know why so I waited to speak to him, offering constructive criticism about the sound level but he was not the least apologetic nor said he would take it under advisement, but was completely dismissive and harrumphy as though we were annoying problems and not potential regulars with suggestions worthy of consideration. How hard would it be to have a quieter area or make a speaker accessible with volume control? People, whether on the spectrum, with hearing impairments, or just lovers of good conversation deserve respect and when it is not given, will go elsewhere....
