What a nice a little pizza spot! The price of $4.50 is a little steep for a single slice, and $1 more per topping. however, the pizza was wonderfully balanced. I loved how crispy the crust was. The sauce was rich, but not overpowering. The atmosphere had a warm, family, welcoming feel. The staff were very friendly and professional. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely want to try their sausage pizza and some desserts! 3*** = Just Okay 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

On our last night in Phoenix, we decided to stay in and order pizza. My sister and her husband recommended Pino's, so we went with that. We got two pizzas: the Bianca and a classic pepperoni. It came with garlic, tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil. It was so flavorful and fresh. I'm usually not a big fan of pepperoni, but I tried a slice and ended up loving it too. For dessert, we had to try the cannolis since everyone kept saying how good they were. They were amazing. The shell was crispy, the filling was creamy and not too sweet. Definitely worth getting. Everything arrived warm and fresh, which made the night even better. It was the perfect way to end our trip

We ordered a couple slices of pizza and sat down. The restaurant is good sized with lots of tables. We didn't have to wait long and our slices. I was amazed at how big the slices were, they are huge! The pizza was good and had lots of pepperoni on them. My friend said he's had the calzones before and they're really good too. I will definitely be back to try other things.

Stopped by here for lunch, a nice little place. I ordered for the pasta Alfredo chicken, the pasta was quite creamy and a large portion as well. My friend tried the pepperoni pizza, as you can see it's a large slice. But what was the best thing we had was the tiramisu, it was really tasty and felt authentic and again it was a pretty large portion as well. The service was quite fast. The place wasn't really that crowded during lunch on a weekday. I noticed a lot of people doing take out as well.

First of all, I found it strange that the restaurant was a sit-down establishment and they still had a counter for ordering. Second, when my food arrived, the chicken Parmesan was overcooked and dried. I wouldn't recommend the chicken Parmesan sandwich because the chicken Parmesan itself looked like a complete mess, as if it didn't have enough sauce.

The pizza was beyond delicious. The crust was so flavorful. I had the prosciutto rucola, such a great combo of flavor! Arugula, parmesan, and prosciutto. That pizza will never fade from my go-to list of happy memories!

A friend wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday so I was checking what was near my office. I hadn't yet been to Pino's but pizza sounded good so we decided to go there. After looking over the menu, we both decided calzones sounded good. Spinach and cheese is my favorite so that's what I decided on, and my friend asked for chicken and mushrooms in hers. (They have a good selection of toppings to choose from.). From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall. There is a good sized seating area inside. It's fairly simple, but clean. You order at the counter, they give you a number and you can grab a table and wait for them to call your number. The calzones are HUGE! You could probably feed a family of 4. We both had plenty left to take home. The cook was perfect! It's not always easy to get them cooked all the way thru, but this was completely cooked. And very tasty. The spinach and cheese does not have sauce inside which was fine with me. I've had them other places where the tomato sauce inside completely dilutes the flavor of the spinach and cheese. But every calzone comes with a cup of marinara. It looks like they also sell individual pizza slices which is always great for a quick lunch, so I'm sure I'll be stopping into Pino's again. It's right near my office, so they may see me fairly regularly.

The Four Cheese had Gorgonzola cheese which is like a bleu cheese with a pungent acquired taste. The Cheese Pizza was exceptional. I'll be back to try some additional menu items.

When pizza is made fresh daily... you can taste it. Pino's Pizza Al Centro has been serving Phoenix since 1995, and they're doing it the right way, fresh mozzarella grated daily, dough and signature red sauce made in-house, and Italian sausage crafted from a family recipe. Everything is made fresh, by hand, to order... and it shows. I've tried their lunch specials, pizza by the slice, and the calzone and everything has been delicious. Classic, simple, and done right. Definitely a go-to lunch spot. read more

The food was amazing. Got a pizza lunch special the first time we in and the pieces are huge!! Bigger than Costco! Second time I got the spaghetti and meatball which was also huge. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was great. You can laugh out loud or sit in the corner for a more intimate experience. Big restaurant. A lot of tables and everything was handmade. Stopped by Pino's for lunch with a friend. I had never been here before and the parking lot was small but we were early so it didn't matter. As we walked in, the staff was friendly and greeted us. We ordered a couple slices of pizza and sat down. The restaurant is good sized with lots of tables. We didn't have to wait long and our slices. I was amazed at how big the slices were, they are huge! The pizza was good and had lots of pepperoni on them. My friend said he's had the calzones before and they're really good too. I will definitely be back to try other things. read more

My friend tried the pepperoni pizza, as you can see it's a large slice. Fantastic super authentic spot. Quality ingredients. We first just tried bread loaf a couple months ago. It was so good it didn't need butter or olive oil! The food was good, restaurant was clean, enjoyed my meal, service was great! Order yourself, grab the food yourself no problem! The vibe was ruined when the manager or owner whomever, was openly disrespecting the server. when it was dead silent, saying our meal was ticketed wrong and should've been more, and it's gonna come out of her paycheck. I'm not sure what their personal relationship is but in a public setting that isn't professional by far to be talking out loud like that. read more

Pinos is ALWAYS great. I moved to downtown phx last year and my boyfriend showed me pinos and I refuse to eat Italian anywhere else. Service is always great, food always taste 10/10 and it's always clean inside. I can't even recommend something specific because it's all good, the pizza, the pasta, the cannolis, I COULD GO ON AND ON. If you were debating trying this place do it BEST NY PIZZA IN DOWNTOWN PHX!! I don't have pics because we always are so excited to eat that we forget lol!! read more

I have worked downtown for decades, but have never stopped by to eat at Pino's Pizza. That is a mistake that will be corrected in the future. I went there for lunch today and had an amazing sandwich. Emily walked me through the menu and recommended several different items. Food was hot and tasted great. I will be coming back. read more

I would not say they are bad so much as they are not providing an experience that enough people want. I ordered a simple cheese and ricotta calzone and I'm not sure if they made my order wrong or decided I was better suited with something else off their menu but my calzone was filled with spinach, you would think my order got confused with another item on the menu but the nice young lady who took my order repeated my order back to me twice which made me think there would be no confusion. Even if they didn't prepare my order wrong I felt the crust and ricotta were wildly lacking in flavor and not very good. I picked up my order on a Saturday at 7ish which should be a busy time but the place was a ghost town. I'm sure they do other stuff that's good but it's definitely not there calzones. I hope they can pivot their business and be more successful. Idk what else to say as my night out where I splurge on myself was ruined by a mediocre meal. ‍ read more

Last night in phx. Was recommended by family. We got a sandwich, calzone, and a cannoli. Family enjoyed the sandwich and still had pretty much a whole meal of leftovers, my calzone was amazing (best I have had in years), the cannoli though hood was a little bit of a rip off. We ordered the "small" cannoli thinking it would be maybe an average size cannoli or a few small ones. It was just one small one. We did go right at 4pm to beat the dinner rush and it was dead. Overall it is good food but the prices can be a little steep. read more

We were scouring the area for some good pizza. Found Pino's had a good score and some favorable reviews. Found it to be relatively close to our hotel so we gave it a shot. You guys it was so good. I'm not going to say we are pizza concierge. However, we do like our pizza. While reading the reviews and photos. My eyes caught a photo of the spaghetti and meatballs. Then we walked in and two patrons already sitting in the restaurant had the spaghetti and meatballs. You know I had to get it. Photos included for your enjoyment. Your welcome. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was like being in little Italy. Food was delicious. We even had to gentlemen speaking Italian in the background. Come to find out it was the owner of the establishment. His name Pino (Joseph) a super gracious host told this story how long is establishment had been there, explained to us how he enjoyed hiring college kids and how he looks forward to his business growing. We look forward to returning to the area and bringing our business to Pino. Great people, great food, and great atmosphere. read more

There really is a Pino and he's there making sure the food meets up to his standards. I went with a friend who's been going there for over 20 years and can tell you Pino's life story. Me, I just met him and having worked in a pizza place most of my youth and making my own pizza now for several years (out of necessity in Arizona) we had a lot to talk about. The cheese he uses is the best. He uses real Italian flour. I don't but then I do make Chicago Pizza. Pino make's Italian style/New York pizza pie. Not a super thin folding crust but not super thick either. It does have a nice cornicione (edge). His sauce is flavorful and he uses the cupping pepperoni which I love as well on a thin or even pan if you've looked at some of my other reviews. Many don't as it costs more and some find it a bit to spicy. The service at lunch was order it at the register and pick it up in a few minutes. Works for me. Also as you can see in my picture I had an Italian cheese steak. Not a Philly but tasted pretty good all the same. If you're not feeling like pizza it's a good alternative. Or do what I did and get both. What is not pictured is the cannoli. I got the small size. Hard not to like cannoli. Not fancy but tasty. The ambiance. I'm not sure he's updated the decor since he opened decades ago but it doesn't matter. The place is clean and the food is good. And the lack of an updated interior is reflected in the pricing. The prices are reasonable. I go out for the food. Not the tablecloths. read more

At Pino, we feel like eating at a Sicilian's mom kitchen...homemade meals. Food is delicious and ambiance is homey. Pino (owner) is super friendly and great guests with conversations and sharing his views on food and journey to make incredible tasting food. It is a personal experience when we dine here. There is no such thing as "not to order" dishes on the menu -- all dish is delicious and legit ! You just have to know what you like or feel like for this dining experience. It is not about fancy dining but it is all about good feeling dining either with your friends, loved ones, or just yourself. the food tasted horrible. The Alfredo sauce is all olive oil with some Parmesan sprinkled in , not a creamy or flavorful Alfredo. The pizza is all dough with toppings that tasted like they were frozen. Do not waste your time with this place, I will not be coming back read more

She responded that it no longer comes with pasta and that I could order some at an additional charge. It was at that moment that I knew I would never return again. Never in my entire life have I ever ordered Chicken Parm at an Italian Restaurant and not have it come with pasta. That is like ordering a hamburger and it doesn't come with a bun. Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.

Grandkids? We definitely put her out, drinks were not offered beyond the first, I had to ask for a second one. The pizzas came, but not mine. I was informed it was wrong and they had to remake it. After my pizza finally came I realized it was still rather doughy and undercooked. We moved on as my daughters were done eating thier pizza and one of them grabbed boxes and we boxed them and waited to order crepes. We finally got our crepes and mine didn't look gf and was missing the allergy flag. We waited a few and I finally got up and went to the front room, the 2 teen girls (servers? They were serving) were messing around in the front room and almost ran into me when I FINALLY went up front to say My food had been messed up after it was dropped, no one checked back. They kept messing around and then stopped and looked at me asking if I needed help. I said YES please. She went into the side room to the front left and the waitress got up from the table where she was sitting with the other kids (that were at the drink fountain when we'd walked in.) She asked what she could help me with... I told her my gf pizza was not cooked all the way; I'd thrown it into a box (that we'd actually went to get) and I'll reheat it properly later and eat it, but the crepe I was concerned as there was not an allergy flag and it looked JUST like my daughters texture wise. I'm familiar with the crepes and I REALLY didn't think it was gf. She said she would not do anything about the pizza since I didn't mention it prior but the crepe was indeed gluten free. A little stunned I again said I would take the pizza home and reheat, I didn't ask for anything in regards to the pizza as they reheat well... and I would not eat the crepe, I truly didn't think it was gf! She said they'd remake it. I replied no thank you. (I'd already sat once while my party ate, for the gf pizza to be remade... I wasn't doing that again. With an attitude she told me she'd remove it from the bill! One bite was cut out and STILL on the fork, it should but have been an issue. I love Cibo and the food is amazing and it's worth the drive to come from Surprise for a treat, but that was a bit much...I'll be back, but I'll definitely ask for a different server!

I am always down for a peach mimosa and their chicken and biscuits with Old Bay gravy. It's one of those meals that keeps me coming back. The hybrid indoor-outdoor atmosphere is a great touch, and the lawn games help create a fun, relaxed environment that encourages people to stick around and enjoy themselves. During football season, they make sure the games are on, which makes this a perfect Sunday brunch spot for my wife and me. She gets brunch, I get football. Actually, that's not entirely true. I also get brunch, because brunch is delicious, and anyone who disagrees can go suck an Eggs Benedict. Great food, great atmosphere, and one of my favorite places to spend a Sunday morning.

The egg rolls were crispy with mostly meat balanced with other flavorful fillings. The Vietnamese coffee was probably one of the strongest I've tasted, a little on the more bitter side, but a few sips and you're good to go. Yes, there's usually a wait since the place has limited seating and sometimes they even sell out, but definitely worth trying! Wasn't too loud and cozy atmosphere. Bring yourself something to do since there's not much to walk around in the area while you wait. Overall, some of the best pho, appetizers, and drinks in the valley with that traditional and authentic flavor. Also, it always feels good to support your local family-run businesses.

Never Again. I have Been an advocate and a customer of this Place for nearly 20 Years. Today some Uneducated Lippy Rude 16 year old girl..Put me over the edge. Customer service and the Quality of there overpriced food has been lacking for a while now..But this took the cake. I tried ordering $30 Worth of sandwiches.She seemed bored with my order... I asked if she could put mayo on my Turkey sub.She said "NO" Unless you want to pay extra...HAHAHA What the Fu#*...They tried charging me for Mayo. My business apparently isnt worth the Penny it costs to Put mayo on My sandwich. She said If you want me to waive the $1.00 for Mayo...Ill have to call the Owner!!!!!! I Kindly said...I have been coming here for 20 Years.You are really charging me for Mayo? She said YES.I said ..No worries...I am never coming back. I was referred to this place by a friendly diner at True. She told me this was a delicious pizza. I'll tell you what sticks out in my mind: the owners are the ANGRIEST restaurant owners I think I've ever encountered. Angry at customers, at the world. She is from hell, he's angrier than she is. They close at 8pm so it isn't the hours. But I'll tell you this: the pizza is fine, another $20 large pizza served by ANGRY, ANGRY transplants. I'm never going back so that now leaves me at least 3412 OTHER pizza joints I can go to that aren't angry with the world. read more

The food is amazing, the service is great and even though it is not fancy inside, it is our favorite anniversary spot! The daily specials are amazing, the pizza slice bigger than your head is awesome and the bread...oh the bread...cannot say enough about the bread! I haven't had one single thing that I didn't love. Best pizza in town! This place uses only the best ingredients and it shows. And it may come as a surprise, but this place has the best salmon I've had in Phoenix! Seared, and in a lemon caper white wine sauce. Amazing. This is really a full Italian menu restaurant and much, much more than just a pizza place. But the pizza is incredible! Pino's is hands down the best pizza I have found in Phoenix. I am from New Haven, CT and we have famous pizza there, this pizza is the closest I have found. Avoid the hype of those other places here in Phoenix (I won't name them but I have tried them) you will get great NYC Metro area pizza here. No topping required because it is that good! read more

It is the best Italian restaurant! Our family favorite is spaghetti bolognese with meatballs. It is the best! All pizzas and calzones are delicious. Tiramisu is to die for. The staff and the owner are very friendly, and the service is great. I highly recommend. read more

We took advantage of delivery and experienced some really good Italian food. We tried an Italian sandwich and lasagna. Very tasty all around. Delivery was a little slow and food was not hot (luke warm) but all in all we will try the deep dish next time! read more
