Not a lot of pepperoni for a pepperoni pizza slice
Richsrd S.

I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza to go and this is what I got. The staff seem friendly enough and the teacher Pizza tasted pretty good just a little light on the pepperonis that's all I have to say.

Good pizza (slices & variety)

It was a very brief visit and for to-go pizzas. The pizza slices were all delicious, which were in variety of options. The restaurant was clean and helpful staff, who were friendly and made some good recommendations. The Kosher food was a new experience for me, and I think I like it. I will definitely come back to have a full experience at this location.

My grandparents have been raving about "the Kosher pizza place" for as long as I can remember. We went for lunch today and I can see why they love it so much! We walked in, placed our order and they brought it to our table. We each got the weekday lunch special which is 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $8.99. The pizza was delicious! Lots of seating inside and easy to spot off the main road too.

I was really hungry and La Bella was still open with delicious, very large pizza slices and a stromboli with alot of cheese and veges. Service was fast and courteous by Manager Baruch. There is also a large selection of salads, drinks and plenty of comfy booth seating. This is the place to go if you're craving Italian food or salads in midtown Phoenix, especially if you want Kosher.

First time here as the sign pizza by the slice caught my eye and I'm so glad I went in. Service was great place was very clean and the pizza was definitely the best I've had ever. I did the lunch special 2 slices and a drink. The types to choose from you just wanted one of everything it all looked so good but it was enormous slices and delicious even the crust was flavorful. They serve many different things here and it all looks delicious. Highly recommend eating here!!!!

Insalata Portobella

Had a meet here so back again. Ordered a portobella grilled salad that was tasty. They also have fresh sushi dishes in addition to their standard pizza and pasta fare. Place is clean and good service. Still not sure if I can order a pizza over the phone without pre-paying but back again. Sushi looked pretty good and you know it has to be fresh.

"Kosher Italian Cuisine." Who knew. But, their cheese calzone was very good.

Obnoxious pricing even for kosher. 4.25 plus tax for a Snapple as an example. They completely rip off the Jewish community.

Challah Factory - Chocolate chip mandel bread

Mmm Challah. Is there anything better than that soft braided egg bread? I've had several varieties…read moreof it over the years but usually at grocery stores. I've tried to make it at home too but it always tastes a bit off; sometimes it is not soft enough, and other times the flavor isn't quite there. One of my friends dropped off this loaf, so freshly baked the loaf was still a little warm and minute beads of condensation were forming on the top of the bread bag. This challah was fantastic. The bread was so tender, the taste rich, and the outside perfectly browned. Thanks to The Challah Factory my toddler is now officially addicted to challah. Gwen Stefani may be a Hollaback Girl but I've got a Challahback Girl! Chef Melinda bakes her delectable kosher specialties each week at the East Valley JCC's kitchen. Goldman's Deli Where Your Soul and Your Stomach Both Get Hugged…read more If comfort food had a headquarters, it might very well be Goldman's Deli. Walk through the door and suddenly you're not just hungry you're home. The smells alone could make a grown person misty-eyed. Now let's talk about the pastrami. Lean, tender, and stacked so generously you start wondering if the sandwich needs its own zip code. One bite and you understand why people keep coming back. Two bites and you're already planning your next visit. The soups? Forget therapy have a bowl. Rich, comforting, and restorative. The kind of soup that makes you feel like somewhere in the kitchen a grandmother is quietly nodding with approval. And then there's the gefilte fish. Not the ordinary, polite little slice. This one is special delicate, flavorful, and downright magnificent. Even people who say, "Eh... I'm not sure about gefilte fish," suddenly become believers. There's a little schmaltz, a lot of love, and the unmistakable magic of real Jewish deli cooking. Eat there, take some home, and tell your friends because food this good shouldn't be kept a secret. You might arrive hungry, but you'll leave smiling, a little fuller, and possibly needing a short nap which is the highest compliment a deli can receive. And as they say with a wink and a warm heart: "Zei gezunt, un es gezunterheit eat in good health!" Or in plain deli English: "May you always be healthy... and may your sandwich always be this good." I…read moreinvited my husband to Goldman's which was the only place that came to mind for the liver but he politely declined, not being a fan. So I trecked 5 miles out of my way to Goldman's (when Chompie's was just a mile away --frankly I don't know why I didn't think about chompies) I ordered the chopped chicken liver appetizer which comes with slices of tomato, a piece of lettuce, slice of red onion, and challah bread. I paid $15.01 for this platter (lol) without a tip for a small scoop of the liver. Just look at the photo. I was shocked to see how small it was. I thought that with a base price of $13.99 that the scoop would be bigger or at least the same size as in the past when it was $9.99. The challah bread was yellow but did not take like challah. Yellow bread slices do not delicious challah bread make--no yeasty flavor as any good challah would have. So here I am regretting that I didn't give chompie's a try. I can assure you that I will not be returning to Goldman's. I know ingredients have gone up but this price for such a small scoop is an affront to the wallet.

The restaurant's ambiance…read moreis as bare-bones as you can get-a hole-in-the-wall located in a strip mall, with no decorations other than mirrors on the wall. To get attention for service, we had to ring a bell at the front desk three times and we had to ask multiple times about our soup. However, our other two dishes came out extremely quickly and the restaurant made it up to us by giving us an extra soup, which I appreciated. My friend and I shared the samsas, pilav, and the laghman soup. The samsas were extremely disappointing-the meat was tough and needed more flavor. The pilav was the best dish we had-the rice was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, although the meat could have used more flavor and there could have been a better rice-to-meat ratio (the pilav was about 90 percent rice). The laghman soup was OK, although nothing special-the noodles did not look hand-pulled or made as is traditional with this soup. The medley of foods on the menu was interesting, especially for a kosher restaurant, but ultimately fell short.
