This place deserves five stars. They have exceptional pizza. No fancy fluff but just good pizza at a reasonable price.

I'm originally from Jersey (41 years I lived there) but moved to Colorado the last few years. I've been searching for good pizza out in the Midwest and it's tough to find. I recently had a business trip out to Phoenix and it thought let's find a local pizza joint to try. To my surprise this pizza reminded me of home. Jersey pizza can vary a lot from thin crust to doughy or no flop to mild flop. I'd say the cheese and sauce were spot on and the dough was actually chewy the way I prefer. I also got some wings and they were pretty good as well. They pretty much pull apart in your mouth. My only criticism is the ranch with the wings is kind of sweet and not my style and I'd rather drink Pepsi or Coke first a soda versus rc cola what they serve. I really I would definitely eat here again as it was pretty close to NJ pizza. read more

This isn't an Italian staple in Phoenix! STICK TO THE BASICS! Pizza specials are an amazing value during lunch. Cheese Pep and Mama's Special. Also, whole pies are pretty consistent any time too! The Sicilian Sandwiches come in meatball or sausage are also one of their top menu items. I never deviate away from the game plan; pizza and calzones and it's been a recipe for successful lunches for like I said.. 30+ years (I went to grade school across the street (St. Theresa's) and used to walk there on early dismissal days! Wonderful customer service over the phone, and friendly delivery driver. I got a cheese pizza and chicken wings last night for dinner. It was about 30$ for a medium cheese pizza and 12 wings and the pizza was worth every penny. Soft, cheesy, greasy and flavorful, the wings had a very mild buffalo flavor very oily and chewy not very crispy but still enjoyed. read more

Look, I don't know if the pizza reviews aren't recent enough or what, but I didn't enjoy the pizza at all. I got it two or three visits ago; whatever. This place shines in sandwiches. I live and work nearby and make it my goal to visit whenever I need a meal on the way home. All their Italian and classic hot sandwiches are terrific and reasonably priced. Staying at the Holiday Inn and Suites for the night before heading home, ordered wings, lasagne with salad and a pizza... Inedible, all of it!! Wings were flabby and undercooked, lasagne had absolutely no taste to it, the salad was brown and limp and the pizza was so salty I couldn't eat it at all!!! Worst meal and waste of 60 dollars.... The holiday inn is awesome tho! Just finished throwing up because of the food here. Tried to tell the owner that his food made us violently ill, not expecting a refund but trying to give a heads up.., his response was to send us more of the crap that made us sick.. apparently he wasn't too worried about his customers getting sick. An excellent value! Medium pizza, 1 chicken parm sandwich, two drinks and tip - $25!! I recommend ordering your pizza with extra cheese and a strongly flavored ingredient like pepperoni. Although my mushroom side was good I found it lacked flavor, so a stronger flavored ingredient will bring everything together just right. The pepperoni side was very good. The guys behind the counter were courteous and got everything prepared and served really fast. The restaurant was very clean and overall it was quiet during my visit. This is a hidden gem! The prices are great, and the pizza is really good! The subs are great too and the price is very cheap compared to other places. I've been coming to Di Vito's since I was a little girl and it really hasn't changed much! They've been there for 27 years and it is owned by the same family, making the same good Italian food. When ordering pizza, we have way too many local options to choose from rather than just order from a chain, so since Di Vito's is down the road, they're an easy choice to support local! We usually order a small pizza with mushrooms and black olives and it comes to a little under $12. It is perfect for 2 people! Since it is down the street, we always pick it up to avoid delivery costs! I really like the cheese and ingredient quality, however, i'm not the biggest fan of their crust. It is a little crispy for me! I usually like my crust chewy. :) Just my personal preference. But the pizza overall is pretty tasty! The actual business is not very clean at all, in fact, this is why I had stopped coming here for years. I recommend picking it up and taking out versus eating in. You'll enjoy the ambiance at home better! ;) We'll probably be back again soon when we're craving pizza! read more

Tonight, I check-in at my hotel, unpacked...I needed dinner. I perused around Yelp looking at various restaurant venues...too many really good restaurants makes it difficult to choose. I reached out to EAT24 from Yelp. After I decided upon the cuisine...it started lightening and thunder, followed by it raining to beat the band. No problem...let's have it delivered...!!! Tonight I went for something that I very rarely ever have...pizza...not just any pizza, but a small, pepperoni and tomato pizza...but I need some veggies so I also elected for the antipasto salad...this is going to be good...oh wait, dessert...how about the cheese cake...!!! Remember, there's a storm brewing out there... ...dinner arrived on time, complete...and hot. A simple little pepperoni pizza, and my goodness, what a tasty pizza...my taste buds ignited like 4th of July fireworks...perfect. The salad was refreshing...and of course the cheese cake...awesome... Remember, this is a family owned and operated small business, doing their best to share some great Italian food. Won't be going back. I really hate to give a local business a less then favorable review. Especially, if the business appears to receive positive reviews from others. Today, my friend and I decided to go to DiVito's Pizza for lunch. We ordered a slice of pizza, greek salad, and meatball sub. In all honesty, I would have to say that the food at DiVito's Pizza is poorly executed and of low quality. I have eaten my fair share of meatball subs. However, I have never been served a meatball sub that didn't have whole or sliced meatballs. The meatballs on the subs at DiVitos are broken into small pieces, drenched in tomato sauce, and covered with cheese. The pieces of meatball were bland, soft, with a bread filling, unlike homemade meatballs which are larger, solid, and flavorful. The pizza was equally unappetizing. The sauce was greasy, so much so, that we had to place a napkin on top of the pizza to soak up the grease. The crust on the pizza was overcooked , and there was just no flavor, and the salad was old and wilted. We walked away from DiVito's Pizza eating very little with only one thought, I won't be going back. read more

Admittedly the place is a little divey but they keep it clean, and every time I come here I am reminded of why small business rock; they remember you and become like family. I used to live in back behind the restaurant so I used to eat here several times a week and coming in today reminded me that I wished I still lived in that tiny apartment as a college student behind a pizza shop. I have been stuck in Phoenix for a couple weeks, sp I was hoping to eat well. This was just ok. It wasn't bad just nothing stood out with the lasagna, calzone (special of the house sandwich), salad or garlic bread. There was plenty of cheese and sauce, but it was not flavorful. It was good value for the price, but I'm trying to come up with a reason to return. Small place and recommended calling them rather than use the grub hub link. It cost me about 10 minutes. This is a great small hidden gem in the neighborhood and I have been going there for the past 25 years and in those years never have had any problems or complaints. The food & service is always excellent and I highly recommend this place if you want great Italian food and excellent service!
