I HATE TO WRITE A REVIEW LIKE THIS BUT NEED TO. Let's start with the buffalo chicken wings: they have a ton of breading and are really soggy!! I grabbed a drum and the breading separated from the chicken and was running down the side. See the chunks of breading separating? This happens when you dredge too heavily, the coating doesn't adhere, or they're sauced while it's too hot. Not good. Actually after watching the breading MOVE across the wing I found it inedible. Reminded me a little bit of Pizza Hut but I actually prefer their wings LMBO. It's like chewing on a floppy piece. Disgusting guys come on now and what are your chefs thinking sending this dish out no offense..... next the salad which we tried before taking photos. It was the antipasto salad. It was like Oscar Meyer bologna strips instead of salami. Chef must have ran out of good quality meat and substitute it with 3D-printed lunch meat. Also thank you for the one giant chunk of carrot in my salad. I really appreciate the one piece of carrot. Two slices of bell pepper. A handful of black olive slices. And two tomato quarters. Generous amount of lettuce and dressing was ok. NEXT THERES THE PIZZA. Again... Grabbed a slice before the photo because I wasn't sure I was going to leave a review yet here we are. It felt underdone not in a RAW way but just like maybe too pale and doughy for my preference. I like it a little more crisp and baked. Very light sauce. Like one bite will have a lot toward the crust and the rest barely has any. Can you see in photo? Poor execution - once again. Good flavor but just not good job on spreading the sauce. Overall I discovered that this place is awful. I love a little tucked away pizza hidden gem but there's a reason I've never heard of this shop until now and it's because the food was a waste of my money that I will never get back. I would donate it to someone in need but it would feel criminal to distribute this nasty food. Sorry for the bad review but needed to warn them. read more

I'm originally from Jersey (41 years I lived there) but moved to Colorado the last few years. I've been searching for good pizza out in the Midwest and it's tough to find. I recently had a business trip out to Phoenix and it thought let's find a local pizza joint to try. To my surprise this pizza reminded me of home. Jersey pizza can vary a lot from thin crust to doughy or no flop to mild flop. I'd say the cheese and sauce were spot on and the dough was actually chewy the way I prefer. I also got some wings and they were pretty good as well. They pretty much pull apart in your mouth. My only criticism is the ranch with the wings is kind of sweet and not my style and I'd rather drink Pepsi or Coke first a soda versus rc cola what they serve. I really I would definitely eat here again as it was pretty close to NJ pizza. read more

Just realized I have been eating DiVito's Pizza for something like 30+ years!! - since 5th grade! What's crazy is I think the prices are the same or damn near! Even as my pockets get deeper, tastes evolve, and I experience better and better, I will always go out of my way to grab some slices or a calzone from here! So consistent and takes me back every time. #SimpleJoys To all the people that had lackluster experience... this is a volume pizza place that has amazing specials. This isn't an Italian staple in Phoenix! STICK TO THE BASICS! Pizza specials are an amazing value during lunch. Cheese Pep and Mama's Special. Also, whole pies are pretty consistent any time too! The Sicilian Sandwiches come in meatball or sausage are also one of their top menu items. I never deviate away from the game plan; pizza and calzones and it's been a recipe for successful lunches for like I said.. 30+ years (I went to grade school across the street (St. Theresa's) and used to walk there on early dismissal days! Under rated. Food is amazing. Service is always friendly. Ambiance is a quaint and family restaurant. Though the restaurant needs updating, the food is what drives me back consistently. They not only strive to satisfy your hunger, but your palate too! I always get the spaghetti "Amin's Way." Not on the menu. A place Keith Lee won't be disappointed. read more

Look, I don't know if the pizza reviews aren't recent enough or what, but I didn't enjoy the pizza at all. I got it two or three visits ago; whatever. This place shines in sandwiches. I live and work nearby and make it my goal to visit whenever I need a meal on the way home. All their Italian and classic hot sandwiches are terrific and reasonably priced. Give this local spot your business if you want a great chicken parm! read more

The owner is really nice and super sweet. He makes it a point to schedule his doctor appointments right before lunch so that he can bring all of our staff food. The food is delicious and I would highly recommend to those who haven't tried it yet! read more

Staying at the Holiday Inn and Suites for the night before heading home, ordered wings, lasagne with salad and a pizza... Inedible, all of it!! Wings were flabby and undercooked, lasagne had absolutely no taste to it, the salad was brown and limp and the pizza was so salty I couldn't eat it at all!!! Worst meal and waste of 60 dollars.... The holiday inn is awesome tho! Just finished throwing up because of the food here. Tried to tell the owner that his food made us violently ill, not expecting a refund but trying to give a heads up.., his response was to send us more of the crap that made us sick.. apparently he wasn't too worried about his customers getting sick. This is a hidden gem! The prices are great, and the pizza is really good! The subs are great too and the price is very cheap compared to other places. For pizza I would recommend the mama special, and for subs I usually get turkey, but the Italian one has all the meats and is good too. 100% would recommend. read more

Wings tasted like they were frozen very mushy and stuck to the foil so they ripped apart. Meatballs were in the ravioli and were very bland. Ravioli was ok. Garlic bread was very bland as well. Salad was bleh. read more

I was in Phoenix for a sports trip and Di Vito provided an amazing catered meal for our team and parents. The lasagne was a big hit with the teenage boys and baked ziti was scrumptious. Doesn't look like much on the outside but this place is a gem! Was out driving working and needed a snack so came on in. Prices are so affordable! Got a foot long sub for less than $7! Really small hole-in-the wall place... which I love these types of places but I got here at 12:35 and they were completely out of the daily special and only 1 person was in the place! I've been coming to Di Vito's since I was a little girl and it really hasn't changed much! They've been there for 27 years and it is owned by the same family, making the same good Italian food. When ordering pizza, we have way too many local options to choose from rather than just order from a chain, so since Di Vito's is down the road, they're an easy choice to support local! We usually order a small pizza with mushrooms and black olives and it comes to a little under $12. It is perfect for 2 people! Since it is down the street, we always pick it up to avoid delivery costs! I really like the cheese and ingredient quality, however, i'm not the biggest fan of their crust. It is a little crispy for me! I usually like my crust chewy. :) Just my personal preference. But the pizza overall is pretty tasty! The actual business is not very clean at all, in fact, this is why I had stopped coming here for years. I recommend picking it up and taking out versus eating in. You'll enjoy the ambiance at home better! ;) We'll probably be back again soon when we're craving pizza! read more

Tonight, I check-in at my hotel, unpacked...I needed dinner. I perused around Yelp looking at various restaurant venues...too many really good restaurants makes it difficult to choose. I reached out to EAT24 from Yelp. After I decided upon the cuisine...it started lightening and thunder, followed by it raining to beat the band. No problem...let's have it delivered...!!! Tonight I went for something that I very rarely ever have...pizza...not just any pizza, but a small, pepperoni and tomato pizza...but I need some veggies so I also elected for the antipasto salad...this is going to be good...oh wait, dessert...how about the cheese cake...!!! Remember, there's a storm brewing out there... ...dinner arrived on time, complete...and hot. A simple little pepperoni pizza, and my goodness, what a tasty pizza...my taste buds ignited like 4th of July fireworks...perfect. The salad was refreshing...and of course the cheese cake...awesome... Remember, this is a family owned and operated small business, doing their best to share some great Italian food. Won't be going back. I really hate to give a local business a less then favorable review. Especially, if the business appears to receive positive reviews from others. Today, my friend and I decided to go to DiVito's Pizza for lunch. We ordered a slice of pizza, greek salad, and meatball sub. In all honesty, I would have to say that the food at DiVito's Pizza is poorly executed and of low quality. I have eaten my fair share of meatball subs. However, I have never been served a meatball sub that didn't have whole or sliced meatballs. The meatballs on the subs at DiVitos are broken into small pieces, drenched in tomato sauce, and covered with cheese. The pieces of meatball were bland, soft, with a bread filling, unlike homemade meatballs which are larger, solid, and flavorful. The pizza was equally unappetizing. The sauce was greasy, so much so, that we had to place a napkin on top of the pizza to soak up the grease. The crust on the pizza was overcooked , and there was just no flavor, and the salad was old and wilted. We walked away from DiVito's Pizza eating very little with only one thought, I won't be going back. read more

Every time we come by, "Amin how is business?" "Good, the people never stop eating." Admittedly the place is a little divey but they keep it clean, and every time I come here I am reminded of why small business rock; they remember you and become like family. I used to live in back behind the restaurant so I used to eat here several times a week and coming in today reminded me that I wished I still lived in that tiny apartment as a college student behind a pizza shop. Earlier this year I stopped by for happy hour at Indian School with a friend that ended with me taking a pizza home. Then more recently I came for a "Sunday supper" with friends that also ended with me taking some pizza home. I absolutely love the bar decor and how they've separated the store from the bar. They have a host but you can walk-in to belly up, or make reservations if the # of attendees is around 10. All the staff are super friendly on both sides of the bar (retail and restaurant)! They (like any self-respecting craft beer bar) use Untappd to keep their draft list publicized. And both times I've gone it has been a vey solid list, complemented by some tasty cocktails. But the star of the show is the plain 8.3 cheese pizza with solid undercarriage (I don't like wobbly / flimsy pizza either) that has the right amount of char. As much as I love a supreme pizza, there's almost too much topping and not enough support for it. Still delicious though. I won't add to my previous review regarding the food, as it is still just as fantastic. And while the old location had its charm (mainly that it was more intimate and a bit quieter), the new location is overall an immense improvement. First of all, it is much larger, modern, and very tastefully decorated without losing as much of the intimacy as they could keep. For instance, the decor on the walls makes you feel like you are somewhat at home, with photos of the Spinato family and other tasteful finishes. Everything is comfortable without being too casual or formal. It's definitely more open concept now, and bar-lovers will appreciate the full bar, as the old location only had a tiny one. The covered patio area is much nicer, and with an eastern exposure, it should bake in the sun less than the old place's western exposure for most of their operating hours. We were seated at a half-booth, and the restaurant was very crowded because it was their first Friday night at this location. Nonetheless, we arrived early enough to be seated without a wait. I will say that the food took a very long time to arrive--40 minutes or more--but I'm chalking that up to the crowd and growing pains at the new location. Our server recognized us, welcomed us to the new place, and was as friendly as usual, though he didn't have much time for chat-chat with how busy they were. Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. This Italian restaurant has some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Every bite so enjoyable and it never disappoints. The food always leaves me wanting more. From the variety of crispy pizza to the pastas with the buttery garlic bread and the salads, subs, and not to mention the cannolis that I cannot seem to have enough of. Di Vito's will always be a place that is treasured in my heart. The workers there do their job with so much passion and the owner, Amin Khalil is such a friendly guy. Wow. Customer service at its best!!! I had an online ordering issue since i didnt realize they werent open on Sundays. So i went in Monday to explain what happened, and without questioning, they made my meal that i had ordered day before. Owner came out and spoke with me for 10 minutes, appologizing and explaining hiccup in online website. He was very sincere and sweet, you can tell he loves his customers. Oh, and food was dynamite for how affordable it is!!! so glad this family owned restaurant is down the street from my new house too! Score! read more

I have been coming here since High School and I graduated in the early 90's. Amin, the owner is great and remembers his customers by name. Di Vito's is so consistent even on Monday night when Amin is not making the pies himself. Great quick friendly delivery and they have such a great Pizza. All the deserts are homemade and they have one of the best Greek salads around and very inexpensive. For a neighborhood pizza that has great delivery I have to give 5 stars. read more

I was disappointed that the slice that I had ordered with just garlic and basil arrived with garlic and pepperoni (which I didn't want on that slice, and caused excessive oiliness) and had no basil on it. The other slice, arrived with the correct toppings of pepperoni and basil. Oil had pooled on top of both slices, and in the bottom of the pizza box... There is no way that I can force myself to eat another oily bite. The side of meatballs was bland, but OK in general, as was the side of sausage. The portions were generous, but I could not add them to the heavy, greasy slices of pizza. I'm thinking I'll cook some pasta tomorrow and get my spices out of the cupboard... I'm feeling really let down. I'm glad I didn't spring for an entire pizza... I hope this feedback improves someone else's experience.
