I used to eat at Pita Jungle all the time when I lived in Arizona over a decade ago. It was one of my favorite spots for fresh, healthy food, and I couldn't wait to go back after moving here again. Unfortunately, it was nothing like I remembered. We ordered many of the same dishes we used to love, but everything was incredibly bland and lacked the flavor and presentation that made Pita Jungle stand out years ago. The grilled chicken tapas was completely unseasoned, the bean burger slider was dry and uninspired, and even the plating felt like very little care had gone into the meal. The only things that were still consistently good were the hummus and pita. Everything else felt like a significant decline in quality. I left really disappointed. It's unfortunate to see a place that was once so consistently good lose what made it special. Sadly, I won't be returning. read more

I have been to a few Pita Jungle restaurants. Tonight we were looking for places that were open since it was late on Sunday. This Pita Jungle was on our way home and decided it would be a great place to stop and eat. As we entered a few customers were ordering food for takeout. This particular evening I could tell they were short on help. We were seated after the hostess was done with orders from customers for takeout. We were given the menu but tonight we both were going to order the Wood Fired Mediterranean Salmon. We were in the mood for salmon. After our drinks came we realized how nice and quiet the restaurant was even though there was plenty of customers. The place is well kept and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our food came and the salmon dish did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection. I have had many different dishes at the Pita Jungle and have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. Attempted to eat lunch here on a Thursday afternoon, after the rush hour (not busy inside, no one at bar and maybe five to six tables). Seated immediately by the host. Overheard the server ask the host to get drink order. Ordered tea, asked for sweetener on side. No sweetener came with drink. Had to ask again. Server obviously looked busy with a large table of ladies, but no body ever came to me to say he'd be a minute or ten, ended up leaving without ordering. Walked by host and another server just standing there and they didn't say a word to me as I left. Bad experience. I assume the host was a manager (older white haired gentleman) however didn't act like one. Step up and help your employees if they are slammed, communicate to the customers it's gonna be a minute, or take the freaking order for your server. Not coming back. read more

This was our first time visiting Pita Jungle, and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. Our waiter Tim did an excellent job of both explaining the menu and recommending items to try. His service was above and beyond what was expected, and we will certainly be visiting the establishment again, and asking for Tim. Both my wife and son are picky eaters, so we started with the hummus sampler with Greek pita bread. This bread is much softer. My wife had the chipotle chicken pizza (with the chipotle sauce on the side) and my son had a plain chicken pita sandwich with garlic cilantro fries. I tried the green bean chicken stir fry. Never would I have thought to try it if it wasn't for Tim, but it was surprisingly excellent! We didn't realize it was a sit down restaurant until we entered and the kitchen was a little slow, but we definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be returning. Thanks again Tim. read more

The Mediterranean Tofu Shawarma Bowl was unfortunately something I would never order again. Honestly they listed everything that was included but this was just not impressive. Marinated organic tofu, garlic sauce, tahini, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, turmeric brown rice, and cabbage-kale super greens.. nothing is mixed and it's just thrown onto a plate. The tofu was flavorful though. I would consider trying a different one of their tofu dishes. read more

It's been a long time since I've been in a Pita Jungle - and now that I've returned, I know that this place is going on my weekday lunch rotation calendar for sure. The restaurant is like Dr. Who's Tardis - looks tiny from outside but once you get in there it is a huge full service restaurant with a bar, wine cellar, huge indoor dining room and large covered patio to complement. They're even selling artwork. And don't get me started on the food. The menu is extensive. I had the lunch special Crushed Falafel Grinder with some of the PJ house green sriracha and a basket of garlic fries. The falafel was awesome. Super tasty sandwich, fresh soft hoagie, and the green sriracha is absolutely delicious on there. And it was only $9. Winning. The garlic fries were perfectly crisp with a nice zing. Great, prompt service rounds things out. We all left the restaurant happy, everybody talking about "I don't know why I don't come here more often". You can never go wrong with Pita. Food is healthy as it is good. I'm always conflicted between the chicken combo or the mahi mahi. Jalapeno hummus is a given. Wash down with a berry ice tea. Spacious floor plan and not terribly busy on a Saturday afternoon. Sweet server made sure to take good care of us.
