I used to eat at Pita Jungle all the time when I lived in Arizona over a decade ago. It was one of my favorite spots for fresh, healthy food, and I couldn't wait to go back after moving here again. Unfortunately, it was nothing like I remembered. We ordered many of the same dishes we used to love, but everything was incredibly bland and lacked the flavor and presentation that made Pita Jungle stand out years ago. The grilled chicken tapas was completely unseasoned, the bean burger slider was dry and uninspired, and even the plating felt like very little care had gone into the meal. The only things that were still consistently good were the hummus and pita. Everything else felt like a significant decline in quality. I left really disappointed. It's unfortunate to see a place that was once so consistently good lose what made it special. Sadly, I won't be returning. read more

I have been to a few Pita Jungle restaurants. Tonight we were looking for places that were open since it was late on Sunday. This Pita Jungle was on our way home and decided it would be a great place to stop and eat. As we entered a few customers were ordering food for takeout. This particular evening I could tell they were short on help. We were seated after the hostess was done with orders from customers for takeout. We were given the menu but tonight we both were going to order the Wood Fired Mediterranean Salmon. We were in the mood for salmon. After our drinks came we realized how nice and quiet the restaurant was even though there was plenty of customers. The place is well kept and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our food came and the salmon dish did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection. I have had many different dishes at the Pita Jungle and have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. The Mediterranean Tofu Shawarma Bowl was unfortunately something I would never order again. Honestly they listed everything that was included but this was just not impressive. Marinated organic tofu, garlic sauce, tahini, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, turmeric brown rice, and cabbage-kale super greens.. nothing is mixed and it's just thrown onto a plate. The tofu was flavorful though. I would consider trying a different one of their tofu dishes. read more

It's been a long time since I've been in a Pita Jungle - and now that I've returned, I know that this place is going on my weekday lunch rotation calendar for sure. The restaurant is like Dr. Who's Tardis - looks tiny from outside but once you get in there it is a huge full service restaurant with a bar, wine cellar, huge indoor dining room and large covered patio to complement. They're even selling artwork. And don't get me started on the food. The menu is extensive. I had the lunch special Crushed Falafel Grinder with some of the PJ house green sriracha and a basket of garlic fries. The falafel was awesome. Super tasty sandwich, fresh soft hoagie, and the green sriracha is absolutely delicious on there. And it was only $9. Winning. The garlic fries were perfectly crisp with a nice zing. Great, prompt service rounds things out. We all left the restaurant happy, everybody talking about "I don't know why I don't come here more often". This is probably the 4th time I've ever tried this place and each time is gets more basic, bland , and LOW QUALITY! Yesterday, late afternoon, I enjoyed a healthy, delicious, fun lunch with my son and dad. We all have different diet needs, likes, and allergies. It is still early in the year so we are all trying to eat better, right? Pita Jungle was a fantastic choice! Aside from the food being fresh, the fun decor of the open spaced restaurant, the most memorable part was our server. Good service is always expected, but he was beyond that! He introduced himself, saying his name was Tim. He helped us with recommendations for ordering when we asked. You can never go wrong with Pita. Food is healthy as it is good. I'm always conflicted between the chicken combo or the mahi mahi. Jalapeno hummus is a given. Wash down with a berry ice tea. Spacious floor plan and not terribly busy on a Saturday afternoon. Sweet server made sure to take good care of us. Pita Jungle is always a great alternative, knowing you will be fed satisfyingly, without being overly expensive.
