Flower Child is such a good place to eat! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The steak with the rice and red chile glazed sweet potatoes is a great meal, and the Green Chile Queso with chips is so yummy and definitely worth trying. The restaurant has such a cute, bright, and welcoming atmosphere, which makes it an enjoyable place to eat. The only downsides for me are that the salmon is farm-raised and some of the menu items are cooked with seed oils. I'd love to see more options made with alternative cooking oils in the future. That includes the counter service, the cleanliness and stocked self-serve station of the dining room, the well-staffed kitchen that doesn't seem overwhelmed. I repeated an order that I had once before at a different location and it really is one of my new favorite go-to's. The food is pricey, but it is still within a reasonable range for what you're getting. I usually order the salmon, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Their potatoes are SO creamy and good! Melt in your mouth. I love the chocolate chip cookie for dessert. I've ordered takeout and dined in before. The service in person is always quick and pleasant. The staff are very friendly. Patio has misters and its own water station, so even when it's hot, it's possible to be outside and enjoy without getting too sweaty. Great place for a casual lunch. read more

You are by far my favorite fast casual, healthy restaurant, and I would definitely eat here on a weekly (maybe daily) basis if I had a location nearby. On my most recent visit, I ordered dinner online for takeout. When I've been to this location in the past, I've always had to wait a bit for my food - but I was surprised and delighted that my order was ready when I arrived. I've tried and loved several items on their menu at this point - this time around, I went with the Avocado Caesar with added Steak, and a side of the Sweet Potato Fries. This salad is one of their best - it's simple, packed full of flavor, and pairs well with the crispy sweet potato fries. Speaking of the fries, the Buttermilk Yogurt Ranch that they're served with is practically good enough to drink. As other reviewers note, the prices are on the expensive side, but you do get what you pay for. We visit Flower Child a few times a year and I recently placed a to go order for the Peruvian Chicken ( a seasonal offering). I had ordered this once before and it was delicious and had a lot of flavor. So I ordered 2 for our dinner tonight. Unfortunately this time around it was missing some of the best parts, both orders were missing the pickled cucumbers and the grilled lime section to squeeze over the chicken and the rice. Such a bummer as these items really enhance the dish. Also got two of the lemon cakes. These were a little disappointing. They had a rubbery texture although moist and lacked any lemon flavor whatsoever. We order these often when they are available and love them but this time something was definitely off. Not sure if we just got the wrong cakes??? Maybe there is another cake offering w/o lemon . Who knows. But for $40 plus everything should be fresh and as advertised with all the components. This is an excellent dish with a lot of flavor from the chicken rub to the nicely seasoned black beans and carrots with rice. The pickled red onions and the tangy lime/cilantro sauce to accompany the chicken are delicious as well. This time we were just missing the usual cucumbers and lime juice to pull it all together. Third branch of Flower Child that I tried in less than a month. I was in the area and since I don't know it well, I looked for what I know, Flower Child! I ordered two dishes, my now usual Chicken Enchilada bowl and the Butternut Squash Lasagna. Restaurant was very busy for a weekday but I was able to find a table quickly and didn't wait too long for my food. The chicken enchilada bowl was delicious as usual. The new dish was the lasagna. It was beyond delicious. It was rich but without being overly heavy. The flavors were excellent, I didn't miss the pasta at all! No wonder it was out last time in Gilbert. It's so good, it is extremely popular. I might not be going to this branch again any time soon but the service was very friendly while we were there. They have a cute little covered patio with heaters if you would like to enjoy some sun and fresh air. Parking might be a slight problem but people who shop at AJ's next door keep coming in and out so it might take a little while to park but not forever. read more
