Wow. This food was sooooo good. I've been waiting to try a vegan quesabirria for the longest time. This was definitely worth the wait. I can't even put into words how good the food was. The cheesecake was delicious. It didn't taste like those packaged cheesecakes that come from the freezer. The service was kind and friendly. Well done! I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. Thank you!!!

Such a solid taco spot! The staff is super friendly, and the vibe is chill. Everything I tried was delicious. The asada taco, quesabirria taco, and sope were all really good. The horchata was refreshing, too. Even if you're not vegan, don't sleep on this place. The food is really good and I'd definitely come back.

Nice option if you're looking for casual vegan Mexican food. It was really busy when I came Saturday night but my friends said it's usually not so busy. I got three tacos - asada, al pastor, and pollo. The "meats" all taste the same but they were good and well priced.

Absolutely love the food here, you would never know it is fully vegan. I have gotten multiple things in the past including the tacos, nachos (with homemade tortilla chips), the flautas, and the amazing AZ burrito and have never been disappointed. Especially love the AZ burrito which is HUGE! The staff are always quick and friendly. Very casual spot with both outdoor and indoor seating.

Fun casual spot for tacos with tasty "fake meat" options. They have a few types of fake meat made of soy and one made of jackfruit. I got the "chicken" taco which was tasty. They made a list of top vegan burritos, but I didn't have the chance to try a burrito. I wouldn't mind if they added a few healthier options to their menu.

This was my first visit to their brick and mortar location! My friend and I wanted to grab a late lunch/early dinner and were in the area. We were greeted warmly as we perused the menu. I was initially considering the burrito or nachos but then I saw they had a few specials. I'm a sucker for a taco salad, so I ordered that with pollo (chicken). My friend got some potato tacos and birria sauce to take home. Note: they charge a 3% credit card fee, which I didn't notice until I got my receipt. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and we grabbed a table in the back next to the bathrooms. Which btw are both gender neutral, which is nice. They also have outdoor tables, which I've sat at when this spot was a burger joint. My taco shell seemed to be on the smaller side but it was filled with lots of ingredients like beans, pollo, guacamole, onions, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes. It tasted great and the taco shell was freshly fried (no old oil aftertaste). The pollo was cooked well and had good flavors. I love that everything here is vegan and that there's a variety of items to choose from. I'd love to come back and try more things!

Came here with a vegan friend on Friday for a late lunch and absolutely loved it! We arrived just before rush and since I couldn't decide what to order, I ordered all three things I was looking at: Abia taco, a cauli Baja taco, and the AZ burrito with " Carne Asada". In the time my friend i dined at the restaurant, so many people came and went. They do have table seating and a large menu you can review upon walking in. After that, you can order at the counter countertop and find this place to sit. I got a red and a green salsa, both paired well with my food. The burrito was also huge & the horchata was one of the better ones I've tried! The flavors were on point and I would definitely go back again! I think this is a really good spot for anyone, even if you're not vegan.

Their "asada" burrito filled with rice and beans. Where is the asada?

A year of loyalty. Hundreds of dollars a month. And when I finally needed them to step up, they didn't even try. $70 for four burritos, and what showed up was mostly rice and beans, a fraction of what I paid for. I gave them the chance to make it right. Their response? Indifference. No apology that meant anything, no fix, nothing. I've spent $125 to $150 here every month for over a year, not because I had to, but because I wanted to. That kind of loyalty should count for something. Instead, when I had a legitimate complaint, I got treated like I didn't matter. That's on them, not me. I'm taking my money somewhere it'll actually be appreciated.

First of all, appreciate the thought of a vegan restaurant in Mexican food. Being a vegetarian this is the chance to try multiple Mexican food choices. We tried taco plate with 3 different meat substitute options. Overall food is pretty good. Decent ambience and clean maintenance. Service was quick.

I just had food delivered to my hotel and I feel bad because I think I got someone else's nacho sauce in my order! I got the massive Arizona burrito with birria and it's delicious! I also took advantage of the special taco plate and got two chicken and one asada. Also so delicious! Both salsas were also really tasty. I really wanted to try the birria ramen especially after reading another yelper say the noodles were good. I'll have to wait until the next time I'm back in Phoenix. Btw, the nacho sauce is really tasty!

The most delicious vegan tacos ever!!! Super friendly staff and amazing prices. One of the best spots in town.

If I'm taking a food trip to Phoenix this is first on the list. I got the AZ burrito - the tortilla was so good/soft - like classic Mexican style tortillas not the rubbery kind - and the burrito itself was huge, with lots of fillings. I also got the horchata which was so yummy, no grainy texture and had a nice cinnamon taste. The staff was also very nice and answered all of my brother's ingredient questions (yes EVERYTHING is vegan). All the salsas they gave were too spicy for me but the food had great flavor and wasn't dry so I didn't need it. One thing to note is the tacos de papas are hard shell tacos not soft. I also got an order of birria ramen to go, and there happened to be a BOGO deal so we got 2 ramens. They were thoughtful and gave us the noodles and jackfruit birria in two separate containers. I had it the next day and it was also very good - I especially liked the type of noodle or how they were cooked.

When I got married we had Tscos Huicho come at the end of our reception and served up street tacos to all of our inebriated friends and family. It was a hit! Literally nobody remembers the formal dinner meal we ate, but everyone remembers DEM TACOS! I'm not sure if they still do catering, but if they do, it is a fun crowd pleaser and affordable. The location is weird, like in a neighborhood. Just keep driving--you'll see it, but the first time I went there I thought I was lost and finally spotted it! They've remodeled and expanded the eating area which is great because before it was so busy and you felt crammed, but don't go expecting some high end taco shop. I felt like the fanciest person there when I went since I went on my lunch break in business casual. Honestly I don't care as long as the tacos keep coming out bomb.

While the line can be long, don't let it fool you because the service is quick and efficient! The restaurant is also adding a drive thru line, so that should help disperse the line inside of the restaurant. Even with how busy the restaurants can get, I've never had an issue finding a place to sit and eat. They make each item to order in front of you, you get to choose which toppings you want to add. I always order my items "con todo" with onion, cilantro, guacamole/crema, and salsa. This trip I ordered 3 especiales: caramelo (steak), gringa (pork), and gabacho (chicken). Unfortunately, they ran out of chicken, so I subbed for an extra gringa, my favorite of the 3. I also got an order of chips and queso, but be careful because the queso is addicting! They also have a help yourself salsa bar, but the salsas tend to be watery and not very flavorful. The orange one is my favorite, adds a good kick to the food. The pricing is reasonable, especially for the quality of food you get, even when I tend to over order. Overall, I will continue coming to Taco Viva any time I'm in the mood for some yummy tacos!

I ordered two carne asada tacos, two el pastor tacos, and one vampiro. I started with the al pastor tacos. They were pretty tasty--the meat was tender (not dry), and the sauce on top had a lot of good flavor. Then I moved on to the carne asada tacos. The very first bite was extremely salty. I managed to get through one and a half before I had to stop; I just couldn't handle the saltiness anymore. I thought it was only the carne asada, but when I tried a bite of the el pastor vampiro, I realized that was just as salty. I didn't even make it halfway through before I had to stop eating altogether. The saltiness was so intense it started making me feel sick. My husband tried my food and completely agreed--it was overly salty. I usually like to give places a second chance, but I don't think I will with this one. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon.

Greedy kids also split one of my Sope's seeing how I hyped it up... and left crumbs!!! Salsa bar is located in the corner and labeled so you don't go blazin hot unexpectedly with a salsa. Sometimes the best meals happen because your original plan falls through. That was exactly the case…read morehere, and honestly... I'm not even a little mad about it. I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

It's 105 today and the restaurant is so small, it's probably impossible to keep cool during the summer. Finally, the food. It all tastes very fresh! NO SEED OILS is amazing. I feel like I have won something when I find a restaurant that uses olive oil and beef tallow to cook in. Best corn tortillas I have had for sure. We basically tried one of each taco. (Although some of the tacos we ordered were wrong, so we just kept adding) not a big deal, because they were delicious and we loved them.
