Excellent service and amazing food. Stopped for an early lunch and was not disappointed. Wish we lived in town, because we would definitely come back!

Came on my lunch break, and was pleasantly welcomed in by a lady and a man. They were really friendly, and made sure to let me know what was inside my torta when I ordered incase I wanted to make any changes. (Which I love) they have a nice space where you can sit and have your meals as well. My order didn't take too long, and it was really tasty! I love that they included salsas on the side as well. My only concern would be that the fries had a very strong taste of oil. Other than that my meal was delicious.

Taco Tuesday Special - $11 for 5 tacos and a drink. Family run place, all three generations. Abuelita is the nicest and can take your order with a smile or make you killer tacos and tortas. Tacos are yummy are fresh. Top of your list for taco Tuesday - not a better deal in Phoenix.

I LOVED tortas el güero. First, my boyfriend and I accidentally got there as they were closing without realizing, they still took our order as a to-go order! The service is great and they were very kind. The tortas were SO good. If I was a phoenix local I would definitely visit often. The restaurant is a good size and is a casual Mexican restaurant. It's no wonder they get awarded best of Phoenix so often.

Ordered (1) Torta Cubana, (1) Torta Asada and (2) Mango Agua Frescas The service was great! Very welcoming and fast on our order. Also liked that it was a really clean place. The bread for the tortas was soft with a crisp outside, which was perfect! We also loved that the tortas were not too messy or greasy and each torta order came with fries and sauce. The mango aguas frescas were very delicious and we liked how they were not too sweet. Would rate this a 4.5 only because it was a little on the pricier side. Total was about $50 for what we ordered.

-Service was phenomenal! They were kind, helpful, & patient -The restaurant was clean, spacious, & you can sit wherever you like -I had a carne asada torta and it unfortunately, it was really subpar. There were many parts of the meat that weren't edible, they over load it with mayo, & something that makes a torta great is the bread and there was just nothing special about this one. -My friend had the cubano and they seemed to really enjoy theirs!

Wow, we're we impressed with this spot. Recommend to us by a friend and it is now one of our favorites. They have a big selection of tortas from Hawaiian to Alhambra. The tortas are huge and my gosh are full of flavor. We also ordered the tacos plate and the asada tacos were 10/10. The meat was so tender and flavorful these tacos are some of my tops in PHX. The rice and beans taste just like my grandmas and paired nicely with the salsa. If highly recommend if your wanting authentic Mexican food.

TLDR: Tasty tortas in a fast casual setting. Great option for a quick lunch! Vibe: 4/5. Tortas El Guero is located in a nondescript strip mall with a few other businesses. Parking is plentiful, so you will have no problem getting in and out in a pinch. Inside has a fast casual setup, with a main counter for ordering and several 2 and 4 tops for dining in. Everything was very clean and well organized during our visit which was perfect for our impromptu lunch. The menu is displayed over the register. One small gripe is that I wish the overhead menu had a breakdown as to what is on each sandwich. I had to pull up the menu online to see what each sandwich entailed, as some include more than what their menu name entails. Service: 5/5. The Staff at Tortas El Guero were great! We were immediately greeted when we walked into the restaurant and they were very helpful in explaining the menu. They also brought our food out to our table when it was ready, not a necessity in a fast casual restaurant environment, but certainly a nice touch! Food: 5/5. The tortas and tacos are fantastic! My group of 4 opted to try the torta Cubana, al pastor tacos, carne asada tacos and the torta Pacifico. Everything came out at the same time piping hot and with lovely presentation. My cubana was generously filled with breaded steak, pork pierna, ham and gooey cheese. Each bite was insanely flavorful, with the bread being the perfect vehicle for the fillings due to its soft interior and crusty outside. The tacos were also a hit, as they were overflowing with meat and toppings that the 3 tacos are more than enough for the hungriest of eaters. Overall, TEG is the perfect spot for well executed, budget friendly Mexican eats, especially if you are short on time!

Local, casual family-run business that I appreciated hanging out at. Sweet lady who speak Spanish to you and manages the place will take your order. I got the asada torta for myself and the asada taco for my baby. The torta was quite satisfying and very juicy! It's probably the ideal food for when you are hungover. It does have quite a bit of grease on it so if that's not your jam, stay away. The taco was simple, with some meat, onions, and cilantro. The only reason I'm not giving four stars is that the torta is almost $20, which is quite a lot for a hole-in-the-wall Mexican street food meal. It certainly does not have enough meat or avocado to justify that. I am all for supporting local businesses with all of my heart, but not at ludicrous prices. Similar story with the taco - You can probably find a more hardy taco for less than $4 in the vicinity.

When I got married we had Tscos Huicho come at the end of our reception and served up street tacos to all of our inebriated friends and family. It was a hit! Literally nobody remembers the formal dinner meal we ate, but everyone remembers DEM TACOS! I'm not sure if they still do catering, but if they do, it is a fun crowd pleaser and affordable. The location is weird, like in a neighborhood. Just keep driving--you'll see it, but the first time I went there I thought I was lost and finally spotted it! They've remodeled and expanded the eating area which is great because before it was so busy and you felt crammed, but don't go expecting some high end taco shop. I felt like the fanciest person there when I went since I went on my lunch break in business casual. Honestly I don't care as long as the tacos keep coming out bomb.

While the line can be long, don't let it fool you because the service is quick and efficient! The restaurant is also adding a drive thru line, so that should help disperse the line inside of the restaurant. Even with how busy the restaurants can get, I've never had an issue finding a place to sit and eat. They make each item to order in front of you, you get to choose which toppings you want to add. I always order my items "con todo" with onion, cilantro, guacamole/crema, and salsa. This trip I ordered 3 especiales: caramelo (steak), gringa (pork), and gabacho (chicken). Unfortunately, they ran out of chicken, so I subbed for an extra gringa, my favorite of the 3. I also got an order of chips and queso, but be careful because the queso is addicting! They also have a help yourself salsa bar, but the salsas tend to be watery and not very flavorful. The orange one is my favorite, adds a good kick to the food. The pricing is reasonable, especially for the quality of food you get, even when I tend to over order. Overall, I will continue coming to Taco Viva any time I'm in the mood for some yummy tacos!

I ordered two carne asada tacos, two el pastor tacos, and one vampiro. I started with the al pastor tacos. They were pretty tasty--the meat was tender (not dry), and the sauce on top had a lot of good flavor. Then I moved on to the carne asada tacos. The very first bite was extremely salty. I managed to get through one and a half before I had to stop; I just couldn't handle the saltiness anymore. I thought it was only the carne asada, but when I tried a bite of the el pastor vampiro, I realized that was just as salty. I didn't even make it halfway through before I had to stop eating altogether. The saltiness was so intense it started making me feel sick. My husband tried my food and completely agreed--it was overly salty. I usually like to give places a second chance, but I don't think I will with this one. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon.

Greedy kids also split one of my Sope's seeing how I hyped it up... and left crumbs!!! Salsa bar is located in the corner and labeled so you don't go blazin hot unexpectedly with a salsa. For the adults, we decided to go with the Asada Fries for the group to share, the Mulitas with Carne Asada, Steet taco combo with rice & beans, horchata's and of course a Margarita (or 2) It was a bit to hot for the patio our front that evening, and they do have a another one out back. Sometimes the best meals happen because your original plan falls through. That was exactly the case…read morehere, and honestly... I'm not even a little mad about it. I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

First of all, eating anywhere in Tempe, starts with a frustrating time.... Trying to find parking and having to pay to park. I don't understand why restaurants don't have parking for customers. Idk maybe I don't know where to look. Second, it's hot AF in here. I feel sorry for the guys cooking. It's 105 today and the restaurant is so small, it's probably impossible to keep cool during the summer. Finally, the food. It all tastes very fresh! NO SEED OILS is amazing. I feel like I have won something when I find a restaurant that uses olive oil and beef tallow to cook in. Best corn tortillas I have had for sure. We basically tried one of each taco. (Although some of the tacos we ordered were wrong, so we just kept adding) not a big deal, because they were delicious and we loved them. I felt like the carne was chewy but my husband loves chewier meat. The taco with the marlin was my favorite. And the one that came out kind of like a cheese crisp.
