Chestnut is quickly becoming a favorite of me and my families! Today was my fourth time in and I have yet to try a menu item that isn't amazing. You can really tell by how everything tastes that they are a scratch made kitchen. This house made gluten-free bread is the best I have ever had in my life and in many years of being gluten free. The Billy Club is my new favorite. The restaurant is open yet cozy, bright, warm and inviting. We love all the bumblebee details! Extraordinarily friendly and competent staff. 4.5 / Chestnut has become my go-to spot whenever I forget to meal prep. I always make sure to get there before they close at 2 PM, and every visit has been consistently great. The service is always friendly, the portions are generous, and the value for the price is excellent. Most importantly, the food is fresh and delicious. A special shoutout to Andrew*, Miguel and Cassie for their outstanding service they always make the experience even better. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect experience this visit was because the chicken with my chicken and waffles was a little dry. That said, I've eaten here plenty of times, and it's never been an issue before, so it's definitely not a dealbreaker. Our experience at Chestnut Fine Foods & Provisions was a bit disappointing. The name Chestnut Fine Foods & Provisions feels a bit deceiving, as the experience was nowhere close to fine dining. The space itself has a very diner-like feel, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor area is a decent size, which would be nice on a good-weather day. I ordered a matcha latte and asked for it extra hot, but it came out lukewarm. When I mentioned it, they added hot water to warm it up, which just diluted the drink. They were kind enough to remake it, but the second one tasted about the same. My friend also commented that her coffee tasted watered down. The fruit and yogurt was very basic and didn't feel worth the $10 price in my opinion. The service was friendly though. Sadly, this is not a spot I'd rush back to. read more

My first visit to this spot across the street from the bustling Biltmore Shopping Center. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a can of Diet Coke, which means no refills. The food was delicious, portions hearty and service timely. My drawback is that while tasty and filling, it was also $29 with tip. I know everything costs more. Yet, that was pretty steep for something I can get elsewhere for half the price. I actually am going back to this place next week. I'll see if I can find a better option for breakfast. One other ding is parking. I was able to find a spot, yet parking is extremely limited. TIP: Chestnut has a few spaces designated just west of the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot. read more

It's truly impressive how they've continued to reinvent themselves and find new spaces that work for them! The food, as always was phenomenal, as was the friendly service. The morning bibimbap bowl (warm kale, quinoa, 2 poached eggs and some sriracha!) was just delicious. The Gardener juice (cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, lemon) was surprisingly a bit salty, but still very good. Their vegan and gluten free pumpkin muffin was dense and filling. My lunchmates ordered salad that they also enjoyed. The space is cute and sunny, with a welcoming vibe. Lots of whites, yellows, black accents. Will definitely keep returning for the morning bibimbap bowl and to try their other gluten free pastries! A couple of my coworkers and I decided on going to Chestnut for lunch one Friday afternoon. We walked in and noticed there were a decent amount of people sitting at tables, but luckily, there wasn't a line and we were able to take our time ordering without worries of holding up the line. Right when you walk inside, there is a display set up with some really cute merch and other knick knacks. Overall, the vibe in the place is super cute and when you order waters, you get to fill your glass through a water dispenser like you'd see at parties or lemonade stands (no ice though). One thing I thought was odd was the lack of specific prices on the menu. They have price ranges for each category of food, but no specific prices next to any dishes. As a proud frugal person, I did not enjoy this. Anyway, I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with a side of sweet potato chips; I honestly didn't know if there were any other options for a side because the cashier asked, "are sweet potato chips okay?" The sandwich came out to $12.45. For an uppity place in the heart of Biltmore, I was pleasantly surprised I wasn't spending more than $15. However, the prices for their salads are simply outrageous - just check their online ordering platform. After ordering - my coworkers also got a chicken salad sandwich and a fancy-looking salad, we sat down at a table and the food came out pretty quickly. It should've for sandwiches and a salad. The serving was massive. The bread was toasted nicely and wasn't hard so it didn't destroy the roof of my mouth. The scoops of chicken salad on both halves of the sandwich were MASSIVE. The sweet potato chips on the side were plentiful and crunchy but not kettle chip-level crunch. They had a nice flavor and weren't overly salted. The actual chicken salad was really delicious too and the tomato slices were ripe and red! I couldn't finish the chips or the sandwich and I was full for hours. Definitely worth the $12.45 in my opinion. Friendly and fast service (answered all of our questions). And even though the prices are a little steep for a breakfast/lunch place, you do get good quality food in decent portions. read more

This is a cute brunch/lunch spot in the Biltmore area! It's a walk up, order, and find a spot to sit at establishment with a variety of coffee, tea, sweet, and savory selects. Service was casual, decent. I did enjoy they had board games play. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and The OG. The menu doesn't establish their prices for that menu item, only the range of the category. I didn't care for this approach but it was different - it's like price roulette. The Corned Beef Hash had a great portion for $15.50 and was very filling! Had the beef, 2 eggs, potatoes, onions, and peppers! The OG was okay - biscuit was kinda dry and needed a bit more syrup for the sweet/savory combo. Also ordered a vanilla latte and dirty chai latte which were good. Not too sweet and wasn't weak in espresso. All in, the 4 items cost $45 so it's on par with the cost in the area. Huge thanks to Chestnut for catering an event I hosted this past Saturday evening. We had a group of 25 people (12 adults and 13 kids), and I knew it was going to be another busy weekend on the soccer field, so cooking a full meal was out of the question... I first emailed and then spoke on the phone with Matthew, the Chestnut Catering Manager. He was super helpful in helping me decide on our menu. We went with the following: - House Made Chicken Strips w/Dipping Sauces - Chestnut Chopped Salad (Dressing, Chicken and Cheese on Side) - Oh Mega Luv Bowl - Buttered Noodles - Chestnut's House Made Sweet Potato Chips - Chestnut's Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies Some friends brought in some additional items, so we definitely had a feast! Everyone raved about the food and we had leftovers for days... I was not complaining. Especially about the leftover chips and cookies ;) On top of our food order, I paid a small delivery delivery fee and a 20% service fee, and Matthew came right on time to not only deliver the food, but to set it all up with me. It came in beautiful bowls, serving platters, etc... and they even had portable warmers. It worked out so well. I stopped into Chestnut's beautiful new location today to return the dishes and loved it. I also picked up an iced tea. This is such a cute spot with healthy food options. Our experience here was mixed. I got the Butternut Squash Salad, which was delicious! The combination of the tart cherries, squash, and glazed nuts was amazing. My husband ordered an omelette with cheese, red peppers, onion, and light tomato on top. The first time they made it they forgot the cheese. (You can also see the pile of tomato on top.) They kindly remade it, but by the time it was done the hash browns and toast were cold. I've been to Chestnut a few times and the consensus is that it's just okay. This is a fine spot to get coffee and a pastry, but the breakfast and lunch are pretty lackluster and overpriced for what you get. I've had the 'lox and bagel' and it was maybe my least favorite bagel and lox I've had in recent memory. It's served deconstructed, which is fine, but the ratios of what they gave you were so off. The quality of the lox was also not that great as with the bagel. I've also had the Green Eggs and Ham and the Oatmeal which were fine but nothing I'd come back for. My friend got the tuna sandwich and said the same. The worst part about the sandwich were the sweet potato chips! They were soft - like you could bend them in half. No crunch at all. To me that's just bad service, they shouldn't have served them at all and offered another side instead. The coffee is fine but nothing better than so many of the other great local spots. They do have a nice patio though and some decent seating inside. Service is generally pretty slow, but that gives you time to hang out if that's what you're looking for. Parking is weird - I always park at Wells Fargo even though you're not supposed to. Haven't totally figured out where to park. read more

Chestnut reopened in the Biltmore in my office building at 24th Street and Camelback, and boy am I glad they did. I just finished my lunch and I couldn't wait to get online and post a raving review. The place looks great. It's a cool space to hang out. They have board games and decks of cards. The baked good are on display and they look amazing (I'll be back for a treat). I got lunch. I ordered the Veggie Banh Mi and let me tell you this is one of the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had. It's huge. I could barely finish it. So comforting. The roasted veggies were meaty, colorful and flavorful. What a great sandwich. You will not miss the meat. It comes with a generous portion of their homemade sweet potato chips. Way to go. I don't even know where to begin myself and a couple of my friends met up here and did a charcuterie board making class, we could not have had any more fun, not gonna lie I myself thought a charcuterie board class hmmm really? I pretty much did it just to get together with my friends, but wow we had a blast. The place was super cute. The owner is amazing. She explained everything and some super cute ideas with top of the notch goodies to put on our charcuterie board with lot of choices. I have been looking for a maple scone since 2021. Had one brought home from Chestnut today. It was EXCELLENT! My husband had the mixed berry-also excellent. I'm so impressed. He said Cassie at the front of house was wonderful. Thanks for making my day. Last time I had a scone this good was in New York in 2021. I really don't like writing reviews but I feel like I wasn't really heard or believed. Couple weeks ago I got a chicken salad sandwich it turned out to be a tuna they were very nice they fixed the issue the next day didn't charge me that's great. Today I go in and I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich the person even asked me if a tomato was okay I said yes I said I would like that on sourdough bread I even asked what kind of cheeses come on it.. so I get home to eat some of it before I go to work and it's a chicken salad sandwich. I called them just to let them know and they seem to be a little annoyed. I was literally asked are you sure you didn't get the grilled cheese sandwich, like I'm looking straight at it I did not say that but obviously big difference. So they said they would give me a free one when I come in but it was a real cold response it wasn't even the assistant manager she handed me over to the girl it was just an uncomfortable situation, I don't need a free sandwich I'll just stick with what they gave me I just won't be going back not because I don't like the place I just think they made me feel uncomfortable like I'm lying or something weird.. other than that the sandwiches are good didn't get to try the grilled cheese though read more

This is my favorite restaurant at 24th and Camelback. I cannot believe how well designed it is and the beautiful wallpaper. On a warm January day I enjoy grabbing a whoopy pie or cookie and drinking it with a cup of milk. My favorite lunch options are their sammys, especially the scrumptious ultimate grilled cheese. So happy to be back at chestnut in their new location. The decor and ambience is very inviting and there is plenty of space to sit and enjoy. My classic go-to is the quinoa coconut porridge and the pesto Mac and cheese. They have so many great breakfast and lunch options. Really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have a great drink menu and offer a variety of coffee favorites as well as chaga. The best part of visiting chestnut is their pasties. OMG the whoppie pie is 10/10 addicting and delicious. I would give zero stars if I could. I tried this restaurant considering they have gluten free options. I have celiac disease and am often worried about trying restaurants. I called to confirm on the phone that they have gluten free options. I ordered the Pesto Pasta which shows gluten free on their menu. I ordered and confirmed they use gluten free pasta. After about 10 minutes of eating, I realized the noodles were in fact NOT gluten free. I will not be visiting any locations again and will not be recommending this place. read more
