My wife and I met a longtime friend who we had not seen in some time here for lunch on Sunday. He chose this spot because it is his favorite. Said he has been coming here for nearly 20 years. Right away we could understand why he loves it at Luci's. The place was pretty packed, so we wandered through their store area - lots of fun items. Novelty toys and books, festive decorations, a whole bunch of stuff I'd call "gifts for the person who has everything." We ordered a cup of joe and a lemonade and waited for our friend. Once he arrived, we ordered at the counter. Stephanie was great and welcomed us for stopping in as she said hello to our friend - who she recognized from his being a regular customer. I got the Green Chile Burger and fries, and my wife got one of their fabulous sounding salad bowls. Our friend got a Lox and Bagel. Our food came out fast and our server was friendly. Everything was amazing. So many flavors in my burger and the fries were perfectly seasoned. My wife loved her salad, and our friend devoured his bagel. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch stop at Luci's and have bookmarked it for future meetups with our friend and other friends going forward. We were invited by our friend out to lunch, and this is his most favorite place to stop, so we said, sure! We met up and had a delightful time sitting at a table and getting our meal. It was delightfully busy inside, the way you know it's a good place to eat, and they were super friendly. I got an enormous salad, fresh greens, sweet potatoes, avocado, chicken the works. I would definitely order it again. The food was served pretty quickly, which I appreciate since our table had a burger, we could all eat together. It's got a great little shop inside with gifts for that friend that has everything. And fresh lemonade in the cooler. We saw books, plushes, games, coloring books, gifts for the kitchen. There was a bar area of you want to watch the game, but the eating area we chose was nice music and great for a conversation. I saw friends, couples and a gal working on her computer. First of all, I like the feel inside the store, for the most part, and always have fun browsing around! I've been coming for years and preferred the original layout more, where the coffee shop/bakery was at the front and greeted you when you walked in. It felt more inviting then. The prices, oh the prices....just atrocious! I came last week and ordered a tuna wrap and a medium iced coffee and it was $26 before tip. I spent $30 with tip. The fries were horrible: greasy, almost cold and had way too much seasoning which made it impossible to eat. Prices need to decrease in order to keep customers coming back. If prices continue to increase, I won't be able to afford to come back. At another coffee shop that I love I can get a large iced coffee and a sandwich for $14-$15. read more

I drive by here twice a day since I live nearby and always said "I need to check it out." Well a year later and i dropped by for a black Cold Brew coffee. The place is really cool (and quite busy, merchandise wise) inside. Nice staff and quick to take and serve my coffee. Got home and first few sips definitely have me noticing some kind of flavor I haven't had before. I'm still drinking it and while it's very noticeable, I'm not hating it lol. Buyer beware! This business will only let you return an item from their gift shop if you bring your original receipt. When I gave them my credit card and asked them to look it up as I had purchased the book three weeks ago, they refused. Folks, it's 2025 and EVERY business in America can look up a past purchase on their POS system. I'll sum this up in one word: GREED. The ownership group is a bunch a greedy people that institute an utter BS return policy that requires a physical receipt. What's outrageous about these policies is they're so short sighted. This place is so cool!! Very retro diner style, but with a small store inside that includes wine, shopping bags, soaps, chopsticks, very gift store like but with a boutique essence. They have a display glass with bakery items to really tie the vibe together, and the coffee was so well roasted, the flavor of the actual espresso was amazing. No flavors or sugar needed. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, but substituted all sauces and dressings for the fig jam and it was the best possible decision I could've made for myself. When the weather is nice, (Phoenix--duh) they will open the garage door style windows and you can enjoy the sunshine while having breakfast or lunch. Their menu is quite enlightening and includes breakfast favorites as well as dishes you think you really must try. For a variation, you can order the same food from the Other Bar, which is connected. The food is served quickly and is really full of flavor. The first thing you must do is check out the menu and order at the counter. They will bring you your food but listen for your name as they call out your drink. Parking is okay but you may have to park around back and walk a few extra feet. This is one of a few Luci's restaurants that are spread around town. Try them all, you won't be disappointed. read more

This was my first time trying Luci's and it was phenomenal. I got the Egg Sammie with Turkey, Provolone cheese and on an English muffin. If you're looking for a place to catch up with friends or just relax, Luci's Marketplace is great. I've been coming here for years (back when their drinks were legendary). Yes, in this day where there is a coffee/tea shop on every corner, their drink menu won't wow you. What will make you come here is if you want more than 'just a drink'. If you want good food (their menu is extensive for a coffee/tea shop), cute gifts, AND amazing service then this is your place. Parking is limited in the front so I go to the back. Last, I can't stress how amazing everyone is who works here. Will you get amazing service all the time, probably not. Heck, I'm never nice ALL the time. What you will get is consistency and employees that attempt to go above and beyond. It can be rare to find a gem like this! Example: today my teens sat, ate and just chilled for about 2 hours. After my teens got home, my son stated he thought he lost his retainer while sitting in the booth. We drove like a bullet back to Luci's, showered the booth and found NOTHING. We then asked the two managers (I'm so sorry I forgot your names - Ashley???) if they saw it. They had AND they kept it, safely in a plastic cup. Thank you! You saved this momma $250 and reminded me that going just a little extra can put enormous joy in someone's day. read more

So, we were definitely eating in The Other Bar, but using Luci's Marketplace menu. Win-Win!! There were several really good choices on the menu, which only means that I'm coming back some time soon! But for this first trip, I ordered the avocado toast (put please scramble the egg and put it on the side)... SO YUMMY! Plus, an added benefit of a fruit bowl that was really good. AND, their coffee?
