We are so lucky to have so many pretty coffee shops in the Valley, and the Garden Coffee is among the gems I'm referring to! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you walk in you'll find a large, inviting space with greenery and cool lighting everywhere. Lots of drink options, even for people who are sensitive to caffeine and need decaf, like me. They also have treats for sale. My friends and I shared a pistachio cheesecake. I was really excited to try this cafe! Their drinks looked really lovely and it seemed like a great place to sit and study. I got set up with my laptop, started studying and was waiting for a friend to arrive. Whenever I go to a coffee shop to study I generally like to sit and work for a few hours before I order, because I do really long study sessions, and know that I will want a drink after a couple of hours of working. I've never had any issue with this and thought this was a fairly normal practice (never had any problems at the other local coffee businesses I've been to) but after about 2-3 hours of sitting and working, I was approached by staff and asked if I was going to order anything. I told them yes, I do plan to order a coffee, but that I was just studying for a bit before I did so. I was then basically told that I needed to order now or leave the establishment because they have rent to pay... it was quite shocking. I'm not sure if they thought I didn't plan to order anything or that I was loitering perhaps? I thought this was quite a normal practice for coffee shops. Long story short, when I was approached and told to order or leave, I chose to leave, and went to a different coffee shop! :) I found this whole experience to be quite rude, and honestly felt like I was being observed throughout the entirety of my time there... the staff is clearly making sure everyone orders immediately upon entering this business. Perhaps this place is more of a traditional restaurant than a coffee shop (in which case, I would understand this mindset), however, it is definitely advertised as a coffee shop. Service, food, and the coffee shop itself are amazing. The two ladies working the front are always extremely sweet and accommodating. As far as food goes, no issues at all. For drinks, we've ordered hot chocolate and matcha. The hot chocolate was good and not too sweet, but the raspberry matcha is not something I will get again. I wish more coffee shops would go back to making their syrups and purées in house because this would've been perfect with some real raspberries. The Monin syrup tasted like medicine. This place is decent. Staff if friendly and the chorizo was really good. In my opinion the coffee was a little weak and some of the syrups were too. The banana bread latte tasted like milk and the caramelo marciado was good but still lacked coffee taste. The best thing was the chorizo: the tacos were big and so was the panini. The bacon burrito also lacked flavor. My husband had the mango tea and said it was good. Tried the lavender matcha with blueberries, and the combination of flavors was so good! Everything was really well balanced, and it was super refreshing in the summer heat. My cousin got the raspberry cloud matcha, which was also delicious. Both drinks were unique, flavorful, and definitely worth trying if you're a matcha fan! Stumbled upon this cafe and it's really cute! Great indoor seating for a coffee shop and the staff was very warm and friendly. I got the banana matcha & it was pretty good But a little grainy. I like that the 24oz size is only a $1 more. Good place to work if you need to! My only complaint is the area/plaza it is in- it was a pretty run down area and a couple of people kept coming upto me trying to sell stuff so I had to speed walk into the coffee shop. My daughter, grandson, and Friend all enjoyed our first visit to this cute little coffee shop. Plenty of room with tables, comfy chairs, and even a fluffy pink couch. Lots of photo opportunities. My coffee was 24 oz for iced so I got an extra shot of espresso so I could split my drink over the course of 2 days haha. I recently visited The Garden Coffee located at 2535 E Bell Rd, Suite 7, in Phoenix, AZ, and I was thoroughly impressed by the experience. I arrived at 10:00 AM, ahead of my scheduled house showing at 1:30 PM, allowing myself ample time to work without feeling rushed. I ordered a large iced tea and a chicken bowl, which came to over $25 after tax and tip. Initially, I noticed the café was quite empty, leading me to believe that the service might be slow due to the higher prices. However, I quickly realized I was mistaken. As the clock struck 11:15 AM, the café began to fill up, and I witnessed firsthand the exceptional service they provided. While I was focused on my work, both the owners and the staff made a point to check in on me, asking if everything was satisfactory and if I needed anything else. I inquired with one of the young staff members about free refills for my green tea. He kindly offered to check for any leftovers but unfortunately found that they had been discarded, meaning I would need to purchase a new cup. I declined, stating that I was fine without it. While I enjoyed my meal, the owner's husband came by to offer me a glass of ice water, which was a thoughtful touch. Before leaving, I decided to purchase two matcha drinks for my clients, which totaled over $20 after tax and tip. I was more than happy to make this purchase, reflecting my satisfaction with the service. If I lived closer to this coffee shop, I would undoubtedly spend more time there. The space is large and modern, but it felt pretty bare overall most of the greenery is on the ceiling, and the rest of the café could use more décor to make it feel warmer and more complete. I had to add three extra shots just to balance it out, which brought the total close to $15 not worth it for the quality. I also ordered a breakfast burrito (no photo), and that was good. Garden Coffee offers breakfast, and lunch. Along with a multitude of coffee and matcha (both hot and cold) selections. I ordered the Tiramisu Cloud (large and hot, because coffee is supposed to be hot. Just my preference.) The coffee was outstanding. I waited a few minutes before ordering the "Serrano Breakfast Burrito," It was scrumptious!!! The serrano peppers were fresh and crunchy, the portion was ample, and the sauce served was fantastic. Service was also more than note worthy as my hostess was attentive and her customer service was exceptional . It was great to find such a kewl coffee shop on Bell. I plan on becoming a regular as The Garden Coffee shop is in close proximity to where I live. The coffee, food, ambiance, and vibe are just awesome!!!
