I was So excited to try this place out!! They are known for their fun innovative ice cream We walked in to some fun flavors and sins amazing looking pictures of what they offer! There's so much to choose from! I got the Dubai chocolate ice cream cup. It was amazing. It came with pistachio ice cream, milk, chocolate, ice cream, whipped cream, pistachio drizzle and chocolate drizzle absolutely delicious! My husband gone butter, pecan with brownies and whipped cream, which was very tasty as well! Honestly the ice cream was good.. But for being such a fun looking ice cream shop and for being downtown Phoenix. I expected the vibe in there to be a little bit more inviting a little bit more fun and upbeat! I mean, at least some music playing! Once the other customers left, it was just my husband and I was sitting there the employees were nowhere in sight there's no music no entertainment at all inside. and outside, you can see the hustle and bustle of the nightlife which was nice! To be honest with you going to the restroom, there was music in that hall that was inviting, and there was music in the restroom that was more inviting than the actual ice cream shop! To go in get your ice cream and leave would be great. But if you want to eat inside it's just very bland very plain and very uninviting for as cool and fun as their ice cream options are I just expected the place to be a little bit more fun going. It lacked in that area for sure, but the taste of the ice cream was delicious.
Great little ice cream spot in DT Phx. It has all kind of gimmicky options of ice cream and shakes to choose from. Me personally I like to sticking to classic treats. I do feel like the pricing is up there but I guess you pay for the experience. When busy service does tend to move a bit slow, so you might have to wait an extra couple of minutes. The ice cream is blue bell so being from Texas we know it's good lol. Would say it's worth it on hot day.
My mom and I literally stumbled into this adorable little ice cream spot in downtown Phoenix while hunting for a sweet treat on vacation, and OMG... destiny!! Not only was it super cute inside, but they had an entire gluten-free menu for me to choose from. Like--an actual GF wonderland. I nearly cried. The guy working the counter was ridiculously nice and let us sample basically the whole store. Unlimited samples?? Don't threaten me with a good time. We were out here tasting flavors like we were on "The Bachelor: Ice Cream Edition." Now let's talk about the 'Strawberry Frappe'.I can't even describe the flavor because my brain still short-circuits when I think about it. Just trust me--it's different, it's magical, it's what Strawberry Shortcake would drink on her day off. I wanted two flavors SO badly, but the two-scoop cup was basically the size of my head. They should let people do a mini cup with two flavors... buuuut I asked nicely (with big doe eyes) and got away with it. Hehe They also had a chalkboard wall where we could sign our names, so of course we doodled like we were famous artists. Honestly, I'm expecting MoMA to call any day now. If you're visiting downtown Phoenix,go check out this ice cream spot!! Like... run. Don't walk. I'm still dreaming about it.
The prices are very reasonable with huge sizes! My favorite was the rocky road which they did so well with amazing chocolate flavor, almonds, marshmallows! The Cookie Monster flavor was also pretty good. The service was alright and ambiance could've been better as it was cold with windows open and dirty tables. Overall not a bad experience though! One of the better "'meals" I've had in Phoenix
So many flavors to choose from. They have bowls and jars you can take home, waffle cones and much more. There is so much space and they have a cute area near the front door for two. The service was great, staff as friendly. The only thing I would say is that it is pricey, not your small ice cream shop, keep it mind it is downtown and everything there is pricey. I would recommend.
The ice cream is good and I liked what I ordered! The specialty bowls and shakes all look delicious just like on the menu. However, my ice cream was melting and served with syrup and a mess all over the outside of the cup. The service isn't great and pretty slow. The tables are sticky and the chairs are messy with crusted food on them like they haven't been cleaned in a while. There's no water cups which would be nice to have in a specialty ice cream place like this. It was pretty hot inside the restaurant too, like there wasn't air conditioning on. Paid parking is available very close by.
The Yard Milkshake Bar is a cute spot with plenty of seating and a fun, upbeat vibe thanks to music playing indoors. They offer an impressive array of flavors which makes choosing quite an event. Unfortunately, the ice cream itself didn't live up to the presentation. The overall quality of the ice cream is meh (not sweet, rich in flavor, not creamy). I sampled the banana pudding and it didn't taste like banana pudding. It's a pleasant place to hang out but the ice cream doesn't stand-out enough to make it a place to visit. Two scoops in a cup cost $8. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Came here with a couple friends for a little dessert adventure, and it definitely delivered on the aesthetic. The ice cream was super creamy and flavorful. The vibe is cute and Instagram worthy, and they have fun flavor combos. That said, it is a bit on the pricey side, but it makes sense considering it's in the downtown CityScape area. If you're in the mood to treat yourself (or just want a photo worthy dessert), it's worth a stop!

They have quite a bit of spacing for seating even if it was a little crowded. Parking is hard to get around the area. We got lucky parking right opposite the basketball stadium, street parking. It was interesting to learn that they let you take the milkshake glass home, you can even wash it. They have sink there.

You'll never look at a milkshake the same way ever again after you try The Yard. The location is very cozy and fun right alongside the trolley tracks, but good white and black interior. The artist who took my order and created it is truly a passionate artist, putting love into every movement of my milkshake, from carefully blending to gently tossing the Cookie crumbs onto the finished product. It was an experience in every way and I just didn't know where to start with devouring my beautiful monstrosity. Every bite and every sip was Heaven, so if you're downtown and want an ice cream, this is the place, no other! read more
This place is magic! We stayed near here and had a late night craving for some yummy ice cream. We were so happy to have found this spot. My husband was so excited to have so may amazing options. It was the most delicious ice cream we have had in a long time. So many creative milkshakes and ice cream flavors. Service was good. He has lots of patience with us when ordering. Oh my!! Delicious ice cream only here. We just had big dinner before the Suns game so we wanted a small dessert. They had some extravagant creations but we settled for simple cherry ice cream and vanilla bean. Both excellent. Will return for more next time. Highly recommend!! read more

We were in town for a church conference and found this place. It was pretty amazing! The price is a little high but it's very worth it. If you get the jar you can take it home with you. It is plenty of ice cream to share, me and my daughter shared the salted caramel cheesecake, it was sooo good! I recommend getting the milkshake instead. The man who was there (didn't catch his name) but he was very helpful and helped us decide on what to get. We even got a pint in a jar to take back to our hotel. We definitely will be back to try something else. My husband got the mint brownie mudslide and loved it. read more

Fun way to splurge and enjoy time with my son. Service was over the top helpful and polite- the young woman even walked me out to the entry door to give specific directions to our next destination. Delicious shake - thick with ice cream and a cute atmosphere with several photo op spots. Nice big sink so you can wash out your jar to take home. read more

Over the top cute milkshakes? Yes! So sweet they might make you sick? Yes! Lol Located in downtown Phoenix The Yard Milkshake Bar is serving up over the top milkshakes. They have options for everyone's palate. The prices are pretty expensive but they do put a lot into the decorations. Honestly, 1 milkshake would've been perfect for our family. 2 was just too much sugar. The kids had tummy aches but we really enjoyed the experience overall as a treat! read more

I'd definitely recommend this place to people with a big sweet tooth, since everything was (obviously) really sweet. I went with my family and one milkshake served 2-3 people. We ordered 2 scoops of dough, the "Doughnut Touch my Coffee and Cream" and the "S'Mores" specialty milkshakes. I ended up getting the cookie dough, but I wish I got one of the milkshakes. Parking was difficult at the time I went, but it is downtown so that's expected. We had to park a few blocks away. But the service was good, and the overall vibes inside were cute -- we went mid-day and there weren't too many people, and my family and I were taking nice pictures against the pretty wall that says "The Yard Milkshake Bar." read more

Looking for a sweet treat to end a hot day and this joint came Yelp approved! Opted for the peanut butter brownie blast, but substituted the chocolate peanut butter overload ice cream... it was clearly a lot, and I was able to finish most of it...but I recommend sharing it! Ambiance is urban industrial loft, service was at the counter and helpful, and prices were a bit high, but this is a tourist town.,.. Cool novelty, but I'll plan to try other local joints before an encore... read more

The Yard Milkshake Bar has a huge variety, but their specialty shakes are the real showstoppers. I got the strawberry cheesecake one--crazy good and impossible to finish solo. Bonus: you get to keep the mason jar! Ambiance and service are alright, but the treats steal the show. read more
Nice dessert place my boyfriend and I stumbled upon downtown Phoenix. So many delicious looking choices for milkshakes or even fancy decadent icecream cups. Wouldn't say the workers were the friendliest or most inviting. Lacking the customer service invitingness. It was that awkward moment when trying to decide what to get and the worker just stands there starring at you like "hurry up". No recommendations of anything. It was also kind of warm inside and while looking at the ice cream flavors some of them looked melty. Cute shop but not sure I'd come come back. read more

We visited on a Sunday evening and it was super dead which was nice. I got a cheesecake shake and my husband got some scooped ice cream. They have a little station you can rinse out your jar when you finish to take it home, or leave it for them to recycle. Employees were friendly and patient when we were viewing all the menu options. Loved being able to sit by the window and look out to the city. A little pricey, but definitely tasty! read more

Ice cream decadence! It was a national holiday so I avoided any sort of crowd which was a smart play from what I've heard. I understand why since my milkshake was really over the top sugar madness..delicious! Oreo with more cookie and cream and Oreo covered in more stuff; get the picture? It's blue bell ice cream which is available anywhere but the concoctions are thoughtful fun. Bring the family for sure! read more

Ice cream was very enjoyable and creamy! But I did have some trouble with one of the workers I believe her name was Sarah. I asked her if she knew who created the names of the ice cream and she responded in a rude tone with a lack of costumer service. That was the only con about this yummy dessert and my happy night. This place is really good. I took my son here for his birthday. A few things are drawbacks that led to the 3. But overall I am recommending you go here because I think it was really tasty. So first, I ordered the strawberries and cream cheesecake shake. Now what no one tells you is that unless you get the souvenir jar you won't get all the stuff that's listed. For instance I didn't get the jar so I didn't get a slice of cheesecake. Wasn't really aware, but they should tell you. The shake however was awesome. Second, fairly clean place which I appreciated, third, the parking is rough that in a sense it's at a minimum $5 depending on surrounding events. Finally, the workers here seem kind of miserable. No amount of thank yous or tips increase their mood. They actually look like they hate the customers and job. I'd recommend a manager send in a secret shopper to see what I'm talking about but it's very off putting. Due to the downsides I'd say unless I am already downtown I wouldn't venture out of my way for this place. But it's a good one time experience spot. Great for the kids. Get the jar! read more
Just my honest review of my experience here. The overall experience definitely did not match what I was expecting. First time here but I've been to other kinds of milkshake bars in AZ and LV so I was excited to try this out. I got to try the milk and cookies and their vegan shake. In terms of service, we actually received our shakes in a good amount of time, considering it was pretty busy. The toppings were a big disappointment. On the milk and cookies, the cream filled cookie on top was not very good and the mini cookies surrounding were definitely stale. Cookie on the vegan shake was also stale and hard as a rock. The frosting used to stick the toppings to the glass was actually the best part. Shakes themselves were ok, nothing I'd brag about, and these shakes also seemed smaller than other kinds of milkshakes I've had before. You get to keep the jar, but for the price of these shakes, I'd rather have everything taste amazing and not keep the jar. Plus I only got the jar and not the lid (would of had to pay another .75 cents for that). Overall not anything I'd go back for. read more
