Expect a line. Expect to try every flavor. Yes every flavor. And every time you come in try every new flavor. I am addicted to the olive oil ice cream so if you have an addictive personality you might want to stay away from this place. Or come every day like I did for 2 weeks straight. Lol. I can taste a slight difference from the pints to the hand scooped ice cream. And the waffle cones are to die for. It's more expensive to get a cone but it's worth it! Get a hand scooped waffle cone and enjoy every bite. This ice cream is BITEABLE. I love the pie ones they come out with, better than pie! Like pie and ice cream together. It's incredible what they do here. I've spent hundreds of dollars here within a few months SO BEWARE! You need a lot of money to start a salt and straw habit. WORRH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!
I had an ice cream craving and decided to check out Salt and Straw! I love how they always have new and interesting flavors. They also encourage you to try all the flavors you want! After trying the seasonal releases, I settled on Cherry Red Velvet Cheesecake in a waffle cone. I don't usually do waffle cones but am glad I did this time because it made a great difference in the experience. It was a great waffle cone. The ice cream was also delicious too! This location was clean and had some outdoor seating. I came by on a Thursday evening around 830-9pm and didn't have to wait very long to be helped! I can't wait to come back and try more fun flavors!
Salt & Straw was such a gratifying find after such a long hot day under the sun - Located at the Uptown Plaza, they have a nice selection of interesting flavors, in addition to their monthly menu series. The staff were friendly and kind, and they encourage you to try as many samples as you like! We ended up choosing double scoops of the Strawberry and Coconut Water Sherbet - this was so refreshing and so yummy, and it was vegan-friendly, too! It's officially ice cream season in Phoenix! I made a point of stopping at Saitband Straw since they are in one of my favorite plazas. Beware this place is super popular! Lines of customers frequently. Place is super clean and organized. Tons of take home pints available, I wanted to sample everything. I ended up with the strawberry honey balsamic pepper. I got it in a waffle bowl and the waffle bowl tasted freshly made. I'm ready to go for my next flavor. Also get the app great rewards program available.
Wow! This place has some amazing flavors of ice cream. It's so creamy and perfectly balanced. The service here is friendly and helpful. They are so willing to let you try different flavors and give good recommendations. It was super busy when we went so we just walked around outside instead of dining in but the area is a super cool location to walk around.
Came in to try the new cereal flavors, I tried the Pots of Gold and Rainbows (lucky charms) and Snap N' Crackle Marshmallow Treats (Rice Krispies). They were both so good! Decided to get the RK in a waffle cone and a pint of the lucky charms (I wish the marshmallow pieces were a bit bigger though, that's my only complaint) and a pint of Arbequina Olive Oil. As always, friendly service! I can't wait to see what comes up next
Looking for sober late night fun, I found Salt & Straw not too far from where I live and tried it out on a Friday night. I have never seen a line out the door for just ice cream before. My 15-20 minute wait was well-worth it. My friends and I tried the milkshake with the option to blend up to 3 flavors in the same drink, but we opted for all 3 scoops to be double fold vanilla. It was the best milkshake I've ever had. We also shared a flight that comes in a plastic container with 4 slots for up to 4 scoops. Pors of Gold & Rainbows - based on Lucky charms, as a lucky charms lover, I loved it. Snap N' Crackle Marshmallow Treats - based on rice crispy treats, as a rice Krispies lover, I loved it. Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - pretty heavy and decadent, has a savory aspect that adds dimension Hazelnut Cookies & Cream (v) - I usually love cookies and cream, which is why I opted for this, but the hazelnut flavor was what predominated, not my favorite Overall the ice cream is a bit pricey, but SOOOO worth it! They have unique and decadent flavors. I especially loved their limited cereal menu. The 20 minute line was totally warranted, and this place deserves all the hype it gets.
I love salt & straw and their wacky flavors! I tried a bunch of different flavors and finally settled on two - the olive oil (surprisingly good) and the strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper. I was able to get a split single scoop which was awesome so I could get both flavors! The staff were extremely friendly and happy to accommodate. I just wish there was some indoor seating here but there's a few benches outside.

We were greeted right away with smiles and I love that they had so many different unique flavors to choose from. I knew right away. I was getting the coffee and love nuts on a cone. My daughter chose the mint chocolate chip. I love that they do samples before you choose so you get what you love. It was all so good. We'll be back every time we're nearby I'm sure.

The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely encourages you to sample flavors until you find your favorite. Everyone is cheerful, patient, and makes the whole experience feel playful -- like being a kid again. The flavors are where Salt & Straw really shines. They're creative without being gimmicky, packed with fresh ingredients, and thoughtfully crafted. I also really appreciate how mindful they are about food allergies, and have options for everyone. With so many inventive and delicious choices, it's honestly hard to pick just one. Whether you stick with a classic or try something adventurous, you can't go wrong. I will say the uptown location needs seats!
I am an ice cream fanatic so when my best friend invited me here I was stoked about going. This place is epic. It's super clean and they have so many cool flavors of ice cream. They allow you to sample the ice cream and you can even do half and half when you make your selection. I got a single scoop in a cup and that was a lot of ice cream. The prices are pretty standard for an ice cream shop. Great atmosphere and great staff.

Despite parking being a nightmare, even at 1pm on a Friday, Salt and Scoop is a dream! Friendly scoopers, delicious flavors, and, cute storefront. Definitely recommend! They have standard flavors, seasonal flavors, and, unique flavors like my personal new favorite: Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper. The ice cream is a little on the denser side, so give it a couple minutes to soften. I bet the scoopers have amazing arm definition! The parking is very tough, no matter the time of day. I recommend parking across the street (southwest corner) at the Park and Ride and walking over. Trust me, the parking lot is nutty here. All and all, pretty cool and solid joint.

First timer! I was at another business nearby and a friend recommended we go here. I've been wanting to try Salt & Straw for a while and was so excited! I tasted the malted, salted cookie dough and the vegan freckled mint and got a scoop of each because I was satisfied with those. I also had a taste of the gruyere and tomato because it was so unique and WOW it was incredible. I live closer to their other location and will absolutely be visiting there for their next season flavors! Their vegan options are what set them apart from other ice cream shops, and they aren't overly coconutty or less quality. The employees were all very nice and helpful and it wasn't too loud of crazy inside even though it was busy. read more

Wow! What a great new spot in uptown Phx. I came here today with a couple girlfriends for a sweet treat and to catch up a bit. This location is new to me - I originally went in CA years ago. It's not really large but it's mostly empty which gives it a larger feel! Just a simple menu and a small merch shelf. Plenty of parking available, a lot of creative and tasty flavors- I tried 3- and fast, friendly service. I got a double cup with chocolate caramel budino and hazelnut cookies and cream, add rainbow sprinkles and whipped cream. We all enjoyed our scoops- great way to cool off on a scorching day. After a event close by we wanted to celebrate so someone suggested this spot. After arriving and seeing how many unusual flavors they had on offer and seeing the brisk pace of business we could tell it would be a fun adventure! You walk in and can ask to try a small bite of all the flavors (literally all of them)! The ice cream is very rich and fully of unusual flavors so even after a taster or two I knew what I wanted. We had honey lavender which was so subtle and yet full of lavender as well. We also got a blue cheese and pear which you would think would t work but was amazing! Other flavors were rhubarb with anise and tres leches and coffee hazelnut and all were immediately devoured. They do have vegan options which is hard to find in an artisan spot, but definitely worth it in taste as well. There are a few benches outside but this is a grab and go spot. Due to the heat we are it right away but I loved that they sold pint cooler bags for those wanting to buy some to take home. Brilliant! I've been wanting a Salt & Straw to open near me ever since I first tried it in Portland a few years back!! They have super unique flavors :) I had no idea it opened until I happened to be in the area, and my sister and I decided that we had to get it. Apparently they just opened 2 days ago (nov 7) We walked in and the workers were all so kind, they said you can do unlimited samples (we sampled only the 2 flavors ended up getting, plus the Hazelnut Cookies & Cream, all were very good). We got a double scoop of Cinnamon Snickerdoodle + Strawberry Balsamic in a waffle bowl! They had metal sample straws which you can dispose in chutes (brownie points for sustainability) and had tubs of ice cream that you can take home. The vibes were awesome, they played some throwbacks like Maggie Rogers, One Direction, and Katy Perry lol. Would so come back again, glad they opened here!! read more

Very welcoming setup when you step in the doorway. Customer service is really great. Knowledgeable about the product, and the samples are amazing. Try everything if you can. I tried 4 before I decided on these two. The salted caramel (OG Flavor) in a waffle cone and the Strawberry and Coconut Water Sherbet. I will be back and recommending to everyone I know. I do with there was a couple high tops to take pictures inside but overall great experience and great desserts. #FoodJones read more

First time having salt & straw and noticed this location is newer to the area and opened about ~ 2 months ago! You could smell their delicious waffle cones from down the street so I had to stop in. I tried so many flavors and everything was so fresh, unique, and delicious. I loved the honey lavender ice cream, but the BEST was the Strawberry balsamic with black pepper. It was so sweet and unique and paired with a waffle cone made the perfect combo. They don't have any seating inside, but there is seating outside. Some very delicious ice cream! I love that they have a little spoon chute for your tasting spoons. Flavors were delicious but I will say they are all not amazing fabulous 10/10... I like that they have rotations/seasonal flavors. The parking was chaotic and really tough but that plaza has always been like that. Staff are really nice and don't rush us. Inside is very clean with 1 restroom to use. But there's no seating besides 3 benches outside which get crazy busy when there's a crowd. You could stand on the bar thing that separates the queue but I think that might get people confused. read more

Stopped by for the first time tonight and was not disappointed to say the least. As many samples as we want!!!! And they're not little samples, they do heaping scoops on those lil spoons. The servers were incredibly kind, descriptive, and patient. I think we tried like 7 different bites before we settled on the strawberry and coconut water sherbet. Delicious! Super cute spot!! Really cool vibes inside; definitely a 1-of-a-kind ice cream shop. The flavors I tried were delicious!!! Their ice cream tastes gourmet. I tried the Chewy Molasses Cookies with Rum Caramel flavor (holiday flavor) and I loved it so much that I took a pint home for the weekend. Service was great. The workers were very friendly and welcoming even though it was super busy inside. The young guy who helped me let me try a few flavors before picking which one I wanted. Salt and Straw definitely lives up to the hype and all the features they have received. The staff were super patient with us as we tried the flavors. Flavors are definitely unique and hand crafted you can tell! I enjoy the open door concept they have when you first walk in. The spoon dispenser also pretty cool! Came here for my *first* Yelp Elite event and arrived right as they opened at 11. I was greeted by Rebecca and was able to try a couple of their seasonal items as well as one of her favorites! This included peppermint cocoa with crushed candy canes, almond brittle with salted ganache (seasonal) and salted, malted, chocolate cookie dough (her favorite). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try the Coffee and Love Nuts or The Great Cookie Swap since they both had pecans (which I'm allergic to), but she told me that the former was her favorite :]. She was also very helpful with respecting my allergy and I'm lucky I was first today so there wasn't any dire risk of cross contamination. After trying them all, I still decided to get olive oil, a classic. I felt like I had good conversation with Rebecca and would love to attend again, hopefully with friends next time. The plaza it's located in is also full of activities to do with restaurants like The Henry and Wild Flower, great for business I'm sure. read more
I think we can all scream ice cream at this cute boutique ice cream shop!! An ample amount of flavors to choose from. They even have pup cups of ice cream for your fur babies!! It's super clean, has gifts for the upcoming holidays that are sweet for your loved ones and the staff smiles and greets you as soon as you walk in. A must try!! read more
What separates Salt & Straw from the rest is their creativity of flavours and ongoing collabs. Will need to try the pumpkin tiramisu before it is out of pumpkin szn. I tried their Taco Bell collab which was like a re make of the Chaco taco. It was delicious, a little on the small side though, could have had 2. The location is great, at uptown plaza. Next time I will definitely try a different flavour in a cup. read more
